Spring Fling

He heard Spencer’s breath hitch, and took that as a sign that he needed to keep going if he wanted results. And he definitely wanted results. He’d already gotten a taste of what Spencer was like—literally and figuratively—and he wanted more of it. He wanted to see everything Spencer had to offer and then some, wanted to take him to new places, or at least forgotten ones.

In an attempt to make that happen, Jesse licked his way up Spencer’s cock again and wrapped his lips around the head. Spencer’s knees buckled, a low, needy moan rippling through his whole body. This was more like it. This was exactly what Jesse wanted to do to him.

Jesse adjusted his grip on Spencer’s hip, holding him up and pressing circles into his skin with the pad of his thumb. This time, he did let his eyes fall closed as he sealed his lips tight, sliding down to take as much of Spencer’s length as he could. Spencer wasn’t the biggest guy, but he had absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, either.

As far as Jesse was concerned, he was pretty much perfect. He sucked lightly on Spencer’s cock, pressing his tongue firmly against the vein that ran along the length of it, feeling Spencer’s pulse on his tongue. That was seriously hot, feeling someone else’s heartbeat in his mouth, knowing that he was the one making it skip and speed up.

A soft, broken cry from above let Jesse know he was getting this right. Spencer’s grip on his hair tightened a little, tugging harder than before. The familiar taste of precome hit the back of Jesse’s tongue, but he could tell Spencer was getting close in a million other ways as well.

Jesse shifted the hand on Spencer’s ass a little lower, curling his fingers around Spencer’s thigh and just barely stroking at the sensitive skin there. The reaction was instant, Spencer’s cock twitching in his mouth. Jesse hollowed his cheeks and started sucking hard, knowing Spencer wouldn’t take long to get off now.

Tiny, soft moans spilled from Spencer’s lips with every movement of Jesse’s mouth. He was pulling on Jesse’s hair now, and part of Jesse wished he could see him, see how flushed and needy he really was. He could imagine Spencer’s eyes closed tight, his cute little nose wrinkling as the tension built.

Jesse’s own cock was pressing hard against the zip of his fly, and he shifted his hips a little to give it some much-needed friction. He could almost come doing this, but he didn’t want to. Coming in his pants had lost its appeal years ago. He could wait until Spencer was ready to help him out, still fuzzy and clumsy from the great orgasm Jesse was confident he was about to have.

Spencer squirmed under his hand, rocking his hips as much as Jesse’s grip on him allowed. This was what Jesse had imagined, what he’d wanted from Spencer in the first place. He wasn’t behaving anymore. He just wanted to get off. He wanted to get off because Jesse was getting him there, working him toward it, making him tense and sigh and moan.

Smirking internally, Jesse pulled back a little to suck hard on the head, wrapping his fingers around the remainder of the length and jerking Spencer off hard and fast. He was merciless, listening to Spencer whining above him and timing his strokes accordingly, racing to get him off so he’d see stars when he came.

Heh. Stars for an astrophysicist. That was appropriate.

After only a handful of seconds, a deep, heartfelt moan that sounded like it had started in the pit of Spencer’s stomach broke free of his lips. His hips jerked forward, but Jesse moved with them, his eyes watering at how tightly Spencer was pulling on his hair now.

Jesse swallowed around Spencer’s cock, licking it clean, and then let it fall out of his mouth. He eased his hold on Spencer’s hips and let him slide down the wall, flushed and panting, with satisfaction rolling off him.

“Wow.” Spencer stared at Jesse, his pale, blue-grey eyes wide and intense. He licked his lips, and then, to Jesse’s surprise, lunged forward with enough force to knock Jesse back, pushing him down onto the floorboards. Jesse’s cock twitched at the enthusiasm, and he couldn’t stop himself from grinning.

Not only had he gotten Spencer off, he’d managed to keep him turned-on and eager after, as well. This was clearly going to be a really, really good night.

Spencer caught his lips, licking eagerly into his mouth to taste himself there even as he settled on top of Jesse’s thighs. One hand worked at Jesse’s fly, tearing it open with no pause for ceremony, and the other gripped his shoulder firmly, warning him not to move.

If Jesse had been turned on before, it was nothing compared to this. Heat sparked in his belly, a low, electric jolt between his navel and his balls making his hips jerk up, pressing his cock into Spencer’s waiting hand. Spencer had just pushed his underwear aside and grabbed hold, possessive and wild.

He was still panting, his eyes still glazed when he backed off enough so that Jesse could see them.

Jesse opened his mouth to tell Spencer how hot this was, how he would never have asked for it but it was exactly what he wanted, but he couldn’t get his brain to do more than moan as his eyes rolled back in his head. Spencer was pressing his thumb into the sensitive spot where the head of his cock met the shaft, applying just enough pressure in just the right place.

The best advice Jesse had for anyone was to go out of their way to fuck nerds. They took the time to work out how to have the best sex. Even if they hadn’t done it in a while.

Jesse closed his eyes tightly, rocking his hips up into Spencer’s hand. He was close already, seconds away from coming. That was fine, though. He needed the release now so he could be calmer, more thorough about round two. Spencer had well and truly earned his full attention and best performance, and he couldn’t give that while he was this desperate to get off.

Spencer kissed his way down Jesse’s neck, running his nose along the skin, breathing in deeply. He was so close, teetering on the edge of coming, but he needed a little more. A nudge to get over. That one last push, and he was going to come his goddamn brains out.

He cried out in shock as Spencer bit down, hard, in the spot where his neck met his shoulder, sinking his teeth deep into the flesh.

Jesse came immediately, all the tension in his body flooding out of his cock in one seemingly never-ending wave. He could hear someone moaning like they were in a 70s porno, and it took him a moment to realize it was him making that noise as Spencer applied just a little more pressure with his teeth.

For a split second, his brain told him that he’d accidentally picked up a vampire, and this was how he was going to die. It wasn’t the worst way to go. He was definitely going to die happy.

Remembering that vampires weren’t real was almost a disappointment.

As he came down from his orgasm, Jesse started laughing. He hadn’t felt this good in weeks, all the stress of moving and getting ready to start a new job melting away as Spencer let Jesse take his full weight, leaning heavily on top of him.

“You bit me,” Jesse said when he regained control of his higher brain functions. His throat hurt, but in the best possible way. He could feel himself easing into the hard floor below him, his muscles relaxing so completely that he wasn’t sure he’d be able to get up just yet, even if he wanted to.

“Sorry,” Spencer murmured. “It seemed like the kind of thing to do.”

“It’s gonna leave a bruise,” Jesse said. Not that he really minded. He could live with a little bruising if he got to come that hard.

“Then you’ll have to wear a scarf,” Spencer said wryly. The change in his tone made Jesse smile. He wasn’t nervous or shy anymore. He was relaxed, confident enough to lie on top of Jesse and assume that would be okay.

It was okay. It was more than okay.

“Do you bite everyone you take home?” Jesse asked. He’d never been bitten before, but he wasn’t exactly opposed to it. Not if it got him off that hard every time.

“I’ve never bitten anyone before in my life. Don’t try to pretend to me that you didn’t like it.”

Jesse chuckled. “Oh, I liked it. I guess you learn new things about yourself all the time.”

Spencer hummed. “I think I’d rather learn some new things about you,” he said. “But in a minute, when I can get my legs to work reliably.”

Jesse laughed again, feeling genuine joy bubble up in his chest. He was so glad he’d found someone fun to go home with. Sex was meant to be fun. “Same here, man. Same here.”

The rest of the night was going to be amazing.

  Chapter Three

Spencer woke up sore in all the best ways, and to the smell of bacon. It took Spencer a moment to figure out why, but then he remembered that he'd brought someone home last night. Jesse must have been up for a while, then. Somehow, he hadn’t managed to wake Spencer when he got up, which was unusual—normally, he was a light sleeper, waking at the slightest noise.

His stomach growled, reminding him that he’d burned through a lot of energy last night and he probably did need to eat. That might have been why he’d slept so heavily, too. It felt good to be completely rested for once.

He rolled out of bed, looking briefly for his underwear before deciding he didn’t know where it had ended up and grabbing a new pair from the drawer. It had been a long time since Spencer had been this intensely satisfied, if he ever had been.

Before now, he’d never felt like he’d had particularly grown-up sex. It had been frantic and desperate and just about getting off, the sex young men with indiscriminate tastes had. Last night had been different. More mature, and way better.

He was almost thirty, so it was maybe a little late to feel as though he’d just started having good sex, but he didn’t care. Exhausted and sore as he was, his cock was showing a little interest just from thinking about how hot last night had been.

Spencer padded into the kitchen of his tiny apartment to see Jesse standing over a frying pan, a stack of pancakes already sitting on a plate beside him. Bacon popped and sizzled, filling the air with the sounds and smells of breakfast. Spencer’s stomach rumbled again.

His one-night stands also didn’t usually make breakfast for him. This was a first.

“Kind of starting to think I wished you into existence,” Spencer said, staring at the way Jesse’s shoulder muscles moved under his skin-tight t-shirt. There was a dark purple bruise on his neck where Spencer had bitten him. He still had no idea what had made him do that—the need to be a little closer to Jesse, or to put a mark on him, maybe—but it had definitely been the right thing, judging by his reaction.

Jesse laughed, glancing over at Spencer but then turning his attention back to the bacon a moment later. “I was gonna bring this to you in bed.”

“I definitely wished you into existence. Can I help?”

“You can put the coffee pot on, if you want. That was next on my to-do list.”

Spencer headed to the counter to wash out the coffee pot, humming as he did so. This was nice. He’d never even had a one night stand stay for breakfast before. They normally got up and left shortly after coming the first time.

Jesse hadn’t left after coming three times over the course of the night, the last one a needy groping session when they both woke up at around three o’clock in the morning. Just the thought of it made Spencer’s toes curl.

It wasn’t just the sex, either. Jesse had been sweet, and smart, and funny between rounds, even as they’d both been falling asleep. They’d talked about the latest developments in astrophysics and the exotic places Jesse had visited and gotten tattooed. The whole time, it had been like talking to an old friend, rather than a practical stranger.

“You really didn’t have to do this,” he said as he poured grounds into the filter basket and flicked the machine on. “I’m glad you stuck around, though.”

Jesse turned the stove off and set the two plates he’d filled with pancakes and bacon on the table. “Well, free breakfast.” He grinned. “And, uh, I wanted to see what you looked like in the morning.”

Spencer blushed. “Have I lived up to your expectations?” he asked, looking up to meet Jesse’s eyes.

“You’ve exceeded them,” Jesse said as he sat down. “Which is probably too sincere, but life’s short. I don’t see any point in not telling you that I think you’re adorable.”

Spencer pulled out a chair to sit down opposite Jesse at his tiny dining table. With the smell of bacon lingering in the air and the sound of the coffee pot gurgling in the background, it felt as though he was sitting down to breakfast with a friend. Or a boyfriend.

He’d never actually had anything that could be reasonably described as a boyfriend, but this was what he imagined it would be like. Cozy Sunday breakfasts with the rain tapping at the window and memories of the night before lingering between them.

None of the casual relationships he’d had up to this point had ever involved that. They’d involved sex and sometimes hanging out in groups, but never quiet mornings together. Spencer was beginning to realize he really liked quiet mornings.

Despite him being way out of Spencer’s league, there was something intensely comforting about Jesse. He was sweet, and kind, and all of the usual positive things Spencer looked for in a person, but there was something else, too. Something about his presence that just felt good.

“In that case, there’s no point in me not telling you that you’re the sexiest person I’ve ever seen naked.” Spencer blushed as he said it, but Jesse was right—why hold back a compliment? What did anyone have to gain by doing that?

Jesse chuckled, taking a pancake from the stack and grabbing the maple syrup he’d obviously managed to find in the back of Spencer’s cupboards. It was a rare occasion when Spencer went to the effort of making pancakes. He wasn’t a particularly good cook, and toast or cereal saved him from having to learn. Bacon was something he added to microwave mac ‘n’ cheese to make it more appealing.

“I like you,” Jesse said. “I mean, obviously. I try not to sleep with people I don’t like. You know what I mean.”

“I do know what you mean.” Spencer claimed a pancake and two slices of bacon for himself. He was still starving, and flirting with Jesse instead of starting in on breakfast wasn’t helping with that at all. It was way more fun than eating, though.

“So, uh, I can’t really stick around today ‘cause I start a new job in the morning and everything, but I would definitely like to give you my number before I go,” Jesse said between mouthfuls. For the first time, he was blushing.

Spencer smiled, excited by the possibility that this didn’t have to be a one-time thing. He would have liked to get to know Jesse better. Regular sex with someone you’d communicated your preferences to was great, too.

He didn’t want to get his hopes up, but Spencer was already interested in having something more than sex with Jesse, even if it was only a spring fling that wouldn’t last.

It was time to start having grown-up relationships, now that he was definitely not a kid anymore. School and work had gotten in the way, but he was comfortable and secure now. It was the best time to meet someone like Jesse.

Someone who, maybe, he could spend a lot more time with.

“I’d like that.” He nodded. “I could definitely see myself wanting to see you again.”

Jesse grinned at him. “Good. Because I’d really like to see you again.”

Spencer focused on his breakfast, blushing again. Who would have thought that he’d meet the perfect guy last night? He had a lot to thank Cassie for when he next saw her.

It was just a shame he’d met him a day before semester started. They might have had way more time together otherwise. Still, a nice, slow romance was exactly the kind of thing he needed, even if it never really went anywhere.

At least it’d probably go back to the bedroom, which Spencer was more than up for. He deserved to have a little fun, and Jesse was exactly the kind of person he wanted to have it with.

  Chapter Four

“So, I think that’s about all for the campus tour…” Gwen trailed off, rocking on the balls of her feet.

Jesse looked around his new college, taking in the hustle a
nd bustle going on ahead of classes starting over the next few days. It was as good a place as any—small, but not too small, with a reasonably laid-back atmosphere. Just the kind of place he wanted to pause at while he worked out where he wanted his career to go from here. It helped that the town was nice, too.

Not to mention the fact that he’d already met someone he wanted to get to know a little better. Moving halfway across the country seemed like a better decision now than it had last week, when he’d been in packing hell and afraid that he was going to hate everything about Montana.

“Well, you’ve been awesome,” Jesse said to the grad student—Gwen—he’d been introduced to earlier, who was giving up her morning to help him get his bearings. He was going to forget everything she’d told him pretty much immediately, but he appreciated the effort. She seemed nice.

“I can take you to your office now, if you want? It’s just inside here.” She nodded to the building in front of them. It was clearly one of the older parts of the campus, and that made sense. The science departments tended to be some of the oldest. Jesse was convinced that old science professors never actually died as long as no one tried to move them out of the offices they were used to.

“Probably a good idea, or I might get lost forever,” Jesse joked.

“You’ll be sharing with Professor Harris,” Gwen explained as she led Jesse through the huge doors and into the building beyond, heading straight for the bank of elevators off to the side.

“Something about the way you said that makes me worry.”

Gwen laughed. “Oh, no, he’s fine.” She held the elevator door open, leaving Jesse room to get in past her. The elevators themselves had obviously been designed with smaller people in mind, but as long as he didn’t have to share one with more than one other person, there was enough room. He wasn’t an unreasonably big guy; the elevators were just particularly tiny. Old, he supposed. Built for a different era and a lot less people.

If timing his elevator trips so he wouldn’t be squished in or having to take the stairs were the worst things about his new office, he’d consider that he’d gotten off lucky. The last office had a broken window that hadn’t been fixed in the entire year he was in it.
