His back arched and he screamed again, a mournful cry of pain and regret, as the black obliterated every pure white feather before they withered like charred paper and fell to the ground.

The angel collapsed to his knees, a pair of golden eyes flashed up to meet Nik's gaze. Panting and sweating, surrounded by his sacrifice, he said, “You have no idea what you've done.”

  Season Two:

Now that Nik and Zeph have what passes for a happily ever after in the world of a Sin Eater, their new life together has only just begun. Relationships are hard. Maintaining a relationship while trying to save the world? Try impossible.

To become what her people need her to be, to realize her full potential, Vai has to do one very simple thing. And it's not simple at all. She's struggled against Romani traditions all her life, wishing for control over her own life, but if the battle with Belial has taught her anything, it's that sacrifices have to be made.

She's engaged to a man who can never truly understand the real nature of her calling and the man she's certain she's meant to be with can not, or will not, trust her. And beyond it all, the mysterious Lodaii, a fallen angel, speaks of fervent secrets and ancient ways she can't stop dreaming of.

Vai's starting to think that maybe she was right all along; Sin Eaters don't get happy endings.

The crucifixion of Christ saved humanity once. What will it take to save us this time?

  Jessica West:

Jessica West (West1Jess) is an editor with the heart of a writer. She keeps it in a small jar on a shelf above her desk.

Jess writes and edits freely, and publishes independently. That is to say she's a freelance writer and editor and an independent author, but she prefers to avoid to-be verbs as much as possible and I'm still sore from our last session. She's the Pro Domme at Prose Before Ho Hos, a Creative Director at Kosa Press, and an Editor for Booktrope.

She leaves a trail of blood or pixie dust in her wake, but such is the life of a Horror and Fantasy writer. Though she prefers reading and writing those genres, Romance and Erotica are her guilty pleasures. Many authors—including Stephen King, Clive Barker, Terry Goodkind, and Ayn Rand—have contributed to the delinquency of this intermediate writer, and now she's just whistling her own version of Dixie.

Jess lives in Central Louisiana with three daughters still young enough to think she's cool and a husband who knows better but likes her anyway.
