“Fuck you got an attitude fah?”

Did he really just ask me that?

“You grimy as hell, that’s why. How the fuck you gon’ take me to your mom’s then leave me there and don’t even call to say you’re not coming back. Blaze, you knew I had a class this morning.”

“And yo ass got here, so what the fuck you pissed fah?”

“Not because of you! I had to catch a cab to get here! Yo ass is wrong for that shit you did yesterday. You straight left me at your moms. You are so fuckin’ inconsiderate, I swear,” I snapped at him while trying to be hush with it.

“Man, I had shit to do—”

  “I had a class yesterday.”

“Peaches, get in the truck,” Blaze said, grabbing my arm and I jerked away from his ass.

“Get the fuck off of me,” I snapped as he did yesterday. Blaze stopped then, looking at me.

“I’m sorry I ditched you, i’ight? Now get in the truck.” He seemed kind of sincere about the apology.

With a heavy sigh, I opened the door. Looking at the seat then at Blaze, I rolled my eyes, but ended up laughing nonetheless.

“I hate you. Getting this don’t change anything. I’m still mad.” Sitting in the seat was a small white bear with a purple bow around its neck and a cellphone in its lap. Moving the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, I grabbed the bear.

“I buy yo ass a phone, but you pick up the bear?” Blaze asked, laughing as he walked up behind me.

“So, it’s cute.” Rubbing the bear’s head, I couldn’t stop smiling. I was happy I got a new phone, but Blaze actually buying me a bear, a stuffed animal, made me feel a lot better. The bear wasn’t huge or anything, it was small like a beanie, but simple. There was nothing wrong with that. I liked simple. “What’s its name and is it a boy or a girl?”

Blaze started laughing. “Get the fuck outda here with that shit—”

“Oh, my, Blaze. Are you serious?” Turning around, I hit him.

“Why the hell you hitting me? I done apologized, damn.”

How I missed it was beyond me. Unhooking the heart shaped, purple, sapphire diamond bracelet, I showed him.

“Oh, damn. Where the hell that come from?”

Laughing, I hit him again. “Stop playing, Blaze. You got me this?” I was squeaking like a kid in a chocolate factory before I started laughing at my girlish reaction. But I couldn’t help it.

“Calm yo ass down. You like it?” He asked, putting it on my wrist.

“Yes, I can’t believe you bought me this.” Besides King, no one had ever really bought me anything without there being a reason. Hell, King didn’t even buy me jewelry. “Thank you.” My arms went around his neck and I kissed him. Of course, leave it to Blaze to take things further. While pecking Blaze’s lips, his hands slid down to my ass, squeezing. His groping only lasted for a second before he was pulling away.

“What the fuck you looking at?” He yelled at someone behind me. “Who the fuck is that nigga you were talkin’ to?”

“Who, Sean?” I asked while looking behind me, but Blaze turned me back around.

“Get in the truck. Nigga wanna sit back and mug. Bring yo ass up here,” Blaze yelled again, beckoning him with his finger.

Finally being able to see, sure enough Sean was looking our way but he wasn’t necessarily mugging. Just staring. Blaze just had to try to start a fight.

“Blaze, come on. I’m late for work and I still need to go home to change,” I said, pulling him back towards me.

“Why the fuck dude looking so hard fah?” Blaze’s ass was loud and they were gon’ call campus security.

Dude wasn’t even mugging him, he was simply looking our way. “Blaze, get in the truck, damn.” Pulling away from me, Blaze walked to the driver side. Letting out a breath, I got in, slamming the door.

“Don’t be slamming my fuckin’ door, fuck that nigga staring at you fah?”

“He was probably tryna figure out why I was squealing and excited. He wasn’t the only person looking our way, you just wanted to start some shit.” Sean wasn’t the only dude staring, there were other students and a few teachers looking as well. Blaze’s ass knew what he was doing.

“Shut yo ass up. What y’all was talkin’ about anyway?”

Shaking my head, I rolled my eyes. “He wanted to know if I wanted to join his orgy. I told him I would have to ask my boyfriend, but he’d be okay with it. Then he gave me his number to call if you said it was okay, see.” I opened the notebook and Blaze looked at the number before laughing.

“Make me slap yo ass. Dude was too smiley, nigga in yo face smiling hard as fuck,” he said, stopping at light. He reached in the back and handed me a bag.

“No, he wasn’t. He actually saved my ass today, no thanks to you. He let me use his book so I could redo the homework I left at your house,” I told him while opening the bag. “Yo ass must really want some—”

“I’m getting some regardless, fuck you mean? I’m being nice, I can’t be nice?” He asked, pulling into my job’s parking lot. “I done already called letting them know you was gon’ be late. Gon’ change.” He had bought me some purple scrubs and a pair of white and purple Nike Shox Deliver’s which I wore as work shoes.

“Who you think gon’ be looking at my panties, Blaze?” This nigga done bought a thong.

“Me.” Laughing, I threw the thong in the front seat, grabbed the boy-shorts out of the bag and pulled them on. I was so glad I took that shower at Bianca’s. Grabbing the white bra, I quickly put in on.

“Thank you so much, I thought I was gon’ be walking around here funky.” Blaze laughed as I reached over the seat, kissing him. He’d brought deodorant, which I needed.

“I couldn’t have you walking around smelling like ass.”

Smacking my lips, I hit him in the back of his head. “Boy, whatever.” Pulling the tags off the shirt, I pulled it on, then the pants, socks, and shoes. “Pull your seat back.” Once he did, I climbed in his lap. “I hated you this morning,” I told him truthfully. “I was so pissed and worried.” Hitting him once, then twice, I rolled my eyes. “Yo ass got one more time to ditch me, then leave without calling or texting me saying you’re good and I’ma kick yo ass. You hear me, Blaze De’Shawn Carter.” Blaze had been nodding his head the entire time I was talking until I said his full name.

  Peaches

“I’ma slap the shit outda my momma, fuck wrong with her telling you my name?” He asked, looking serious until I laughed. “You stay away from my moms.” After leaving me with her he said that.

“I like her, stop tryna change the subject. I’m serious, Blaze.”

“I hear you, but shid, the only phone I had was the burner and I wasn’t calling you from that phone.” He stated, which had me rolling my eyes. “Fuck you rolling yo eyes fah now?”

“Even though you didn’t have a phone, you still ain’t come back. You know ol’ dude from the barber shop that was asking about you got killed last night?” His brows rose.

“No shit?” I nodded my head, Blaze rubbed his nose. “Damn, that’s fuck’d up,” he said.

“Well, I gotda go. Thanks for my phone, the bracelet and my teddy bear. I’m still mad tho.” I tried to look serious, but couldn’t.

“Fuck outda here with that. You get off at eight, right?”

I glared at him while opening the door. “No, at five, so don’t be late. I have class at five-thirty.” Leaning down, I gave him a quick peck and was about to jump out, but he caught me.

“What was that?” Rolling my eyes, I leaned down again, but he moved his head. “Shid, if you gon’ be rolling yo damn eyes, don’t kiss me.”

Laughing, I turned his head back my way and bit into his bottom lip, pulling it into my mouth. Bringing my hand to the side of his face, I deepened the kiss, sucking on his tongue before twisting it with mine. Giving him one last peck, I pulled back.

  “Better?”

“It was i’ight.” Laughing, I kissed him once mor
e before getting out of the truck. “Aye, what time you go to lunch?”

“One, you know that. You gon’ come get me?” I asked as he closed the truck door then rolled the window down.

“I’ll think about it. Yo ass gon’ really leave yo clothes all over my seats like that? Fah real, Peaches?” He complained.

Waving him off, I went to walk away, but he pulled in front of me. “You almost hit me, make me slap yo ass.” Blaze laughed as he shook his head. “Oh, feed Cherry and my bear better stay in that seat.” Blaze pulled further up as I went to walk around. “Stop playing, I’m already late.”

“Here, man.” Grabbing my purse and phone, he handed it to me.

Damn, I forget all about them.

Taking the two fifties out, I put them in my pocket along with my phone before handing him his phone and my clutch bag.

“Take this back to the house, my credit card is in there so don’t be tryna spend my money.”

Blaze laughed as he took my purse. Hopping on the truck once more, I stuck my head in and kissed him again. “Love you, now go.” Before I could move back, Blaze was pulling me through the window. “Blaze, stop. I can’t believe you just did that.”

“Yo ass fuckin’ with me on some real shit. It ain’t right, Peaches.” I felt like a love struck teenager at that moment. Blaze’s hand tangled in my hair and he brought his forehead to mine. “You think this shit funny?” I shook my head.

“No, not funny. Cute. Does Blaze love Peaches?” He burst out laughing, like seriously laughing.

“Fuck outda here.” Looking at me, he shook his head. “Yo ass crazy man… You my bae, tho.”

“I’ma take that as a yes,” I told him and he nodded.

“Mos def, you can take it as that.”

Kissing him, I opened the truck doors.

“I gotda go,” Blaze squeezed my ass as I got out. Laughing, I took off running towards the door. The giddy feeling in my stomach had the smile my lips were contorted into growing wider.

I’m hopelessly in love with no way out.

The last patient had just left and I was tearing the sheet off the bed when my phone went off. Reading the text, the smile from earlier returned and had me quickly finishing the room so I could take my lunch break.

“Damn, little mama, that ass sitting right in them scrubs. Can I hit?”

Smacking my lips, I rolled my eyes. “I don’t know, daddy. I got a man, he wouldn’t appreciate you hitting anything he considers his.”

“But I’m saying, tho, he ain’t gotda know. I won’t tell if you don’t.” Walking up to me, he grabbed my ass, squeezing. “Mm, a nigga tryna get in them guts. You gon let me?”

Laughing, I pushed him back. “Blaze, you stupid, stop.” Whining playfully, I smacked his hand off my butt. “So I take it you missed me.” Turning around, I wrapped my arms around his waist.

“N’all, not really. I was on my way to the crib, saw the time and thought, let me go pick Peaches ass up so she can clean up this cat shit.” Blaze shrugged nonchalantly.

“You get on my damn nerves.” Laughing, I went to pull away, but he pulled me back.

“I came to take you to lunch. I mean, if that’s cool with yo dude.” He mumbled the last bit as he kissed me, causing a smile to spread across my lips.

“I won’t tell ‘em if you don’t.” Blaze let out a chuckle as he let me go and opened my door, nodding towards it. Getting in, Blaze closed it behind me. Once he got in, I turned to look at him. “So where are you taking me?”

“Where you wanna go?” He asked, pulling out the lot.

  “Chinese—”

“Hell n’all, last time yo ass had me going to a Chinese restaurant a nigga was sick fah a week. Fuck that.” His hands rubbed at his stomach as he shook his head.

I burst out laughing. “What? When?”

Blaze looked at me, then back at the road. “That day we met Britt and Marcus at the restaurant.” He said, pulling into Jimmy’s parking lot. I knew what day he was talking about and rolled my eyes. “Don’t go rolling yo eyes.”

“I am rolling them because that wasn’t Chinese… I don’t think. But so what, you deserved to be sick for that shit you said to me.” Turning off the truck, Blaze reached over the seat and muffed me. Laughing, I slapped his arm. “Gone somewhere, you’re going to mess up my hair.” Smacking his lips, Blaze’s hand came to the top of my head and he started shaking it in my hair.

“Damn, that shit look good as hell, I should’ve been a stylist,” he said once he messed up my hair.

Laughing, I popped his hand away from my head as he went to do it again. “You are so lame, stop. Where your brush at?” I asked, looking in the glove compartment. Finding it in there, I started brushing my hair. “Hey, what’s Brandy’s deal? Her ass kept rolling her eyes and all that shit at me yesterday, then called me a show piece.” Moving Blaze’s arm, I opened the arm rest, grabbed my Cover Girl Berry Splash lip gloss and pulled the sun visor down.

“Where the hell that come from? Don’t be tryna feminize my shit, leaving makeup in here,” he fussed, but I waved him off. Then I put my lip gloss back and closed the arm rest.

“Wanna try it?” I asked. As I puckered up my lips and laughed, Blaze pushed me back and then to him, kissing my lips.

“That shit nasty.” Rolling my eyes, I brushed my hair once more. “Brandy’s ass just slow, crazy bitch. She think everybody want Sam’s ass. I had to slap that bitch a few times for coming at me stupid, now her ass just don’t say shit when she sees me.” The seriousness in his voice had me hitting him.

“You slapped that girl? How you gon’ slap yo dudes girl and still be cool with him?” I asked, laughing.

Blaze didn’t say anything as he got out the truck. I sat in my seat, watching as he stood at the front of the truck waiting on me to get out. I wasn’t and he knew that. Staring at me for a second, Blaze shook his head as he made his way to my door and opened it.

“You ain’t gon’ have me opening yo damn doors.”

“Whatever, you do it sometimes without even realizing it. But you’re learning. Slowly, might I add, but you getting it,” I told him and Blaze pushed me.

“Fuck you with yo short, black ass.” Popping my lips, I stopped walking and put my hands on my hip while glaring at him. Blaze started laughing. “Keep on rolling them—”

“Fuck you! I ain’t short, I’m average height.” Blaze raised his hands as he walked to me. “Nope, gon’. I don’t like you right now, so don’t touch me.” Pulling up his pants, he made a grab for me and I swung on him, making him move back.

“Ooh, you wanna play hitting, come on.”

Shaking my head, I started laughing. I was not about to play with him.

“Blaze, gon’. We supposed to be getting something to eat— Eep!” A squeal left my mouth as he grabbed me and threw me over his shoulder. “Blaze, put me down—Ow!” The back of my head lightly hit a red car, then a truck. At first I thought it was an accident until he walked to the other side of the parking lot and my head hit another. No this nigga isn’t. “Blaze, stop! Yo ass too old for this.” I hit another car. ”Blaze—” I was laughing so hard slob was coming from my mouth. “Blaze, stop! I’m slobbing on your shirt.” Blaze suddenly started running, actually running, which kind of scared me because it looked like his feet were about to hit me in the face. “Blaze!” As Blaze came to a stop, I was pressed against a brick wall.

“Damn, I’m tired,” Blaze stated. Letting out a breath and not even sounding tired at all, he leaned into the wall. He was so wrong for what he was doing, but I liked this Blaze.

Everyone always saw us fighting and thought the worst, but it wasn’t always like that when we’re together. We actually had a great time. Blaze knew how to play, his speech may not have changed much, but his attitude did. And that’s another reason I fell in love with him, he wasn’t so hardcore, but he wasn’t playful all the time either. So when the playful side came out, I enjoyed it just as much
as I did his rough side.

When Blaze finally put me down, I started hitting him.

  “You are so wrong—”

“Is yo ass slobbing?” He asked, cutting me off and wiping my cheek. “Peaches, you nasty as fuck. Now, you too old fah that shit. Man, wipe yo damn face. Shit all in yo eyes,” he laughed, making me hit him again.

“I can’t stand yo black ass, I swear,” I snapped, wiping my cheek. I knew there was some slob there, I felt it leave my mouth. As I wiped my cheek, Blaze’s fingers ran through my hair.

“You look like a damn troll,” he commented with a laugh, as he continued to finger my hair.

“You’s a hater.” I jumped at him before I started flattening my hair.

Blaze’s hands went to my ass as he started walking me backwards. “I’m too old to be playin’ with yo ass like this, got me running and shit.”

He ain’t even sound tired and he wanted to complain.

“You ran on your own— So you gon’ run me into the door, fo’real?” He’d really just run me into the door.

“Oh, shit. I ain’t even notice we made it to the door. See you fucks with my head, I’ma slap yo ass if you don’t stop.”

Laughing, I shook my head. “I don’t know what you’re talking about…” I trialed off, stretching my neck up towards him.

“Mhm,” he hummed against my mouth. Smiling, I pecked his lips once, then twice.

My head tilted and my mouth parted, allowing his tongue entrance, letting it twist with mine. Blaze sucked on my bottom lip, then the top lip as his hands tightened on my ass, pulling me closer to him.

The constant tapping on the door had Blaze pulling back.

“These some rude ass mothafuckas man, damn.” Pushing Blaze back, I started laughing at his seriousness.

“You the last person that should fix they mouth to call anybody rude. How you gon’ get mad because we’re blocking the door?” I asked him while grabbing his hand and walking into Jimmy’s.

“I can do that, tho. And I ain’t rude,” humming my disagreement, my lips twisted to the side. “Shut up,” Blaze said as he pushed me through the other door. Once inside, we went to the counter, ordered our food and sat at a booth in the back.
