He stood and wrapped her in a warm embrace.
Hazel grinned from ear to ear. “It’s about time.”
Jackson stepped up to his parents. “So will you let the town know I’m not a bastard?”
Flora turned to him with tears in her eyes. “Of course, son. I’m so sorry I did that to you. Can you ever forgive me?”
Jackson smiled and let her put an arm around him, pulling him into the embrace shared with MacMillan. “Aw, shoot. You’ve forgiven me so many times for dumb stuff, it’s the least I can do to forgive you for once.”
Mac leaned back and looked at Jackson. “You’re a good son. I’m very proud to know you’re mine. I’m really glad your momma put that ad in the Groom’s Gazette. I got so much more out of answering that ad than just a position as a barkeep. I got so much more than I could have possibly wanted.”
Flora smiled, “You’re everything I prayed for when I decided to place that ad. You’re exactly what I wanted, Barkeep.”

Appreciation
Thank you to everybody in my life who has contributed in one way or another to the writing of this book. My husband, my children, my children-in-law, and my grandchildren. You all are my unconditional fans. My BETA readers and grammar guru who make me look gooder than I am. [Bad grammar intended.] My fellow author friends who chat with me daily to exchange ideas, encourage, maintain sanity, and keep me from being a total recluse/hermit.
Mostly I thank God for the talent he has given me. I hope to hear you say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant,” when I cross the Jordan and run into your arms—Many, many years from now. :)
