Eden's Pleasure (Pulse Book 1)

by Rose, Jennifer

He thrust forward to his full length without warning, causing her to stumble forward. He grabbed her hips to steady her, and she reached a hand up to his and took hold. He pulled back slightly and thrust forward again, starting a slow pattern of strokes, and she cried out her pleasure, her cavity so full with him.

Leaning forward, never missing a beat in increasingly more rapid strokes, he found her clit and rubbed in circles until she reached her climax again, pulsating around his cock. A warm stream of juices flowed, making it easier for him to glide in and out.

“Oh yeah, that’s it baby, take all of me,” he groaned and thrust harder into her two more times before pulling out of her, stroking his cock feverishly, pouring his load over her ass, marking her as his own, and purring in ecstasy.

“You ok, baby? Did I hurt you?” he asked, tenderly running his hand over her ass.

“No. I’m feeling a bit tender, but I’m ok,” she reassured him. Not wishing for tender and sweet all the time, she enjoyed the rough, less-than-gentle side of Chase and anticipated seeing the Dom come out of her man.

Chase turned her, sitting her on the bench and proceeded to wash her hair, his touch gentle and caring. She eyed his still semi-hard cock right in front of her face, a drip of cum dropping to the shower floor, washing away down the drain. She found this sight very erotic. He put his hand out and moved her to the shower head, rinsing the shampoo from her hair.

He poured body wash from a fancy, unmarked bottle onto a cloth and gently washed every inch of her. The fragrance of vanilla filled the air. He took his time, running his hands over her body, following the lathered cloth. “Your perfect body makes me fall apart, baby,” he attested. “So perfect.”

Eden smiled in delight. Chase made her feel so special and desired. Each touch was sensual and pure heaven, making her skin ripple with goose bumps. She was enjoying this submission stuff so far.

When he was finished, he washed his hair and rinsed it as she watched the bubbles run over his exquisite body. Eden took the cloth he had used to wash her moments ago and rinsed it, then applied body wash, and, in turn, took her time washing every inch of him. He wasn’t used to being on the receiving end. His comfort level was being challenged. He smiled into her eyes, looking pleased, and she delighted in her task.

“We better get out of here before things heat up again. I’m hungry, time to get some food.” He rinsed quickly and took her hand, leading her out. Then he turned the water off and grabbed a towel to wrap around his waist. With another towel, he dried her hair and, slowly, he dried her body. She squirmed with every touch. He knew how to drive a woman wild.

  ***

In the bedroom, he took a crisp white t-shirt from a drawer and removed her towel. “Put your arms up,” he told her. Eden did as she was told without question. She was not at all threatened by his demands. He pulled the t-shirt over her head and down to her knees. She drowned in it, but it smelled of him. She basked in its warmth. He put on a pair of worn blue jeans, no underwear or socks, and a t-shirt. He looked so sexy in front of her with his still-wet hair and his tight jeans. Her frisson did not go unnoticed and Chase chuckled.

“Come, I’ll make us breakfast.” He took her hand and led her out of the room and proceeded to the stairs. As they came to the first landing, the door to the office opened. An older, stout brunette in a pink uniform and white apron came from the room with a smile.

“Good morning, Mr. Dean.” Not waiting for a reply, she hurried past them and made her way up the stairs to the bathroom, disappearing through the door.

“Morning, Hazel!” Chase bellowed up the stairs behind her. “That was Hazel, my housekeeper; sweet lady but always in a rush.”

He continued down the stairs. Eden felt uncomfortable in only a t-shirt. Oh god, what would this lady think of her? “Maybe I should get dressed.”

  “You are dressed.” He laughed.

“But your housekeeper…what will she think?” she asked and then visualized the shower scene. “She probably heard us having sex in the shower, oh my god!”

Not giving it much concern at all, he shrugged his shoulders at Eden and winked. “Too late, she already saw you, and yes she probably heard us. Don’t worry, she is completely loyal and discreet.”

She nodded but peeked behind her to see if she had an audience and pulled at her t-shirt, making sure she was properly covered.

In the kitchen, Chase cautiously tapped his fingers against the coffee pot to measure its warmth.

“Would you like coffee? Or I can make you tea? I have every flavor imaginable and then some. Hazel keeps it stocked, she’s the tea drinker.”

“Coffee, please, black.” She sat down at the table on the cold chair. The reality of her lack of underwear became apparent. Chase handed her a steaming mug of coffee. She took a sip and made an mmm sound.

“What would you like? Eggs? Bacon? An omelet? Pancakes?” he asked as he whirled a frying pan in his hand.

“Toast?” she asked. “I don’t usually eat breakfast.”

“Well, if you expect to keep up with me, you better learn to eat, baby. An omelet it is…and toast!” he mocked with a wink.

In no time at all, he placed two plates on the table consisting of an egg-white omelet each, sliced melon, and of course toast and took the seat next to her. They devoured their meals in silence, too hungry to speak since they’d missed dinner the night before in lieu of their sexual encounter. Eden surprised herself at her appetite this morning.

Chase rose and took their plates to the sink, then brought the coffee pot to the table and topped up their cups.

“I want to ask you something.” Chase leaned closer beside her and gave her shoulder a nudge.

“Ok, go ahead and ask.” She nudged him back and giggled.

“How did you get that scar?”

Eden stiffened, losing her smile, and shifted uncomfortably in her seat, staring into her coffee mug. “Why do you ask?”

“Curiosity.” He tilted his head to get a better look at her. “Concern.”

Eden laughed with awkward effort. “Curiosity killed the cat, haven’t you heard the old adage?” She tried to bring a bit of humor to the situation unsuccessfully.

Chase sat, stone-faced and waiting for an answer. “Was it an accident?” he asked insistently. “It doesn’t look like a scar from surgery.”

“No to both.” She looked him in the eyes, and her heart started to race, tears stinging at her eyes in anger. “Let’s just say it’s a reminder of a bad relationship gone very wrong and leave it at that.”

Chase wrapped his arm around her shoulder holding her tight to him. “You were attacked? Assaulted? Was it the ex-boyfriend that hurt you?”

She pulled herself from him and sipped at her coffee, trying to put distance between them. “Look, it happened a long time ago. Why do you need to know so badly? Does it repulse you or something?” she lashed out at him.

“God no, don’t think that for a minute.” He weaved his fingers into hers and lifted her hand to his lips, sweeping a kiss across her knuckles. “You’re beautiful, you’re perfect. I just want to know who would’ve hurt you and why.”

“Fine, if you want to know, I’ll tell you the whole ugly thing.” She faced the table, unable to look at him in fear that she would start to cry and show him that kind of weakness.

“I told you I only had one relationship…” She gripped his hand, thinking carefully before continuing her explanation.

“Yes, I remember. It wasn’t true?” he asked.

“It was true,” she went on. “He was horrible, nasty and took great pleasure in my pain. A real control freak. Told me what to do, when to do it and how. And if I didn’t, he’d hurt me.”

“So he did cause the scar,” Chase growled, taking her hand in his and squeezing it gently. How could any man harm her? Chase knew he could be demanding and controlling one moment, soft and tender the next. He hoped he wasn’t a cause of her fears. Had he done something last night or this mor
ning with his sexual demands? “Did I scare you? Am I pushing you too hard, too fast? You would tell me if I scare you, right?”

Eden shook her head. “No, you could never be like him, and you could never scare me.” She took a cleansing breath and went on. “One night, when I came home from school, he was drunk, which wasn’t unusual. He met me at the door with a knife, held it in my face while he had me take off my clothes and then to my throat while he made me cook his dinner. I don’t know how it happened, but he was tracing over my breast with the tip of the blade…I panicked, and the next thing I knew my breast was bleeding.”

Chase ran his thumb across her cheek. “I’m so sorry, baby!” His expression of real concern confused her. You would have thought that he felt the pain she had felt, that he wore the scar on his breast, that his heart weighed just as heavy as hers. It was endearing.

Tears welled up in her eyes as Chase got down on his knees and turned her in her seat to face him. He lifted her t-shirt, and she watched through teary eyes as he cupped her scarred breast in his hand, tracing tiny kisses from one end of her scar to the other. He lowered her t-shirt and moved in to embrace her. She wept quietly in his arms as he rocked her until the tears subsided.

Chase and Eden sat in silence while they finished the last of the coffee. It had been a very emotional night and the morning events only added to their exhaustion.

“Mr. Dean?” Hazel stood in the kitchen doorway taking both Chase and Eden by surprise. “I cleaned and pressed your friend’s clothing and undergarments. I put them in the guest room.”

“Thank you, Hazel,” Chase bit out and glared at her, pissed at her audacity. Eden sat confused with his reaction to Hazel’s efficiency. She had done her job, and he was pissed? She couldn’t understand.

“I will return in a few minutes to clean the kitchen. I will be out of your way for the rest of the day.” She snorted at him and turned on her heels before he had time to counter.

“I don’t think she likes me very much,” Eden commented.

“Believe me, it’s not you. She is like a mother hen, very protective. She’s been my housekeeper since I was eighteen. That’s when I started at ‘Dean’ with my father and moved in here.”

“At eighteen, you had a housekeeper and a penthouse apartment?” Eden asked in amazement.

“It’s not as bad as it sounds…well, I guess it does sound bad.” He rolled his eyes.

Chase took her hand, and they strolled into the living room. They sat together on the sofa, not speaking a word. He took her chin in his hand and gave her a long, lingering kiss. She sighed on his release. “I really have to be going. I’ll go get dressed,” she told him, but secretly she would have stayed if he had asked.

They stood and made their way over to the staircase. Leaving Chase to stand alone, she slowly climbed the stairs up to the guest room as he watched her in silence. She smiled to herself thinking that he had quite the view of her bare ass. She turned to find him staring up at her with a smile of his own.

Closing the door behind her, she looked around. This room was so cold and impersonal, not warm or inviting like a guest room should feel. Everything so white and wishy-washy. Even the en suite was bleak: a simple bath, toilet and vanity with a single sink, all stark white. Why would this room be left untouched while the rest of the apartment is decorated to impress? she wondered. No wonder he asked her to consider decorating it.

She dressed quickly, noting her blouse had been expertly ironed with a slight scent of white linen. How had Hazel gotten her clothes cleaned so quickly? She must have come in early before they woke and took them. Holy shit! Not only did Hazel hear them having sex in the shower, she saw them in bed all tangled together after a night of fabulous sex. She grinned at the thought.

She looked at herself in the bathroom mirror. She looked like a new woman, a fresh blush in her cheeks. A new chapter had definitely been opened in her life. This submission thing wasn’t half bad. As long as she could overcome her need to control every situation, she’d like this.

He had, without a doubt, shown her a side of pleasure that she had only ever read about in cheap romance novels. She couldn’t help but wonder if it could always be like this. Her stomach ached at the thought that this could possibly have been a one-off. Only time would tell.

Chase was sitting on the bottom step when Eden came down the stairs. She sat beside him, and he took her hand in his and kissed her knuckles, slipping a card into her palm.

She looked at the card. “What’s this?” she asked.

“The numerical code for the penthouse elevator.”

Her scowl told him she was confused. “Why?”

He laughed. “To get in, of course. Doesn’t open without the code.” He tapped his finger on the tip of her nose. “Many hours are going to be spent here; you need to get in. I may not always be here before you. I won’t have you standing in the street waiting.”

“I can always call first to make sure you’re here before I come.”

“Not that I don’t love to know when you’re going to come,” he said, grinning wickedly, “but I want you here when I want you here!”

“Yes, sir.” Eden saluted with a laugh. “It’s time I take off. Thanks for…breakfast.” She giggled and felt herself turning red.

“You have to go?” he asked.

“I do. I have things to take care of for work Monday.”

“Maybe I should order you to stay with me.” He grinned.

“You really are a control freak…but I need to take back control for now. I have work to do.”

He scowled. “Charge, not control.” He stood and pulled her to her feet. “My driver, Neil, will take you home.”

“I can take a cab,” she offered.

“I don’t think so!” he declared abruptly. “I will see to it that you are properly taken care of, Eden. That’s not by being shuffled off in a cab like some cheap whore.”

“I’m sorry.” She was slightly taken aback by this overbearing side of Chase.

“Don’t be sorry. I told you from the start that I will take care of you.” His insistence should have made her uncomfortable, probably would have if it had been any other man, but it was Chase. She approved of his oh-so-alpha-male attitude; it gave her a sense of her own empowerment over him.

At the elevator, Chase punched the button, after calling his chauffer, and leaned her against the door, smooching gently at her lips and making sweet little sucking noises as he did. A chime sounded and he moved her into his hold, pulling her against him as the door opened.

“Until next time, baby.” He kissed her with a rough possession as he delivered her into the waiting elevator. He stepped back, reached over, and ran his thumb across her cheek.

Neil came around the luxurious Bentley Arnage and offered his hand to help her from the car. Her doorman stepped to open the lobby door. He looked flabbergasted at the sight of the gleaming vehicle that she had just exited from.

“Good Morning, Miss Fox,” he muttered.

She was still smiling when she entered her apartment. What a night she had had. She didn’t want to come down from her cloud. She just wanted to stay right there, flying high and free.

A knock at the door startled her back to the here and now. “Who is it?” she called through the door.

“A letter for you, Miss Fox.” She recognized her doorman’s voice and opened it immediately. “It was just delivered, so I brought it up right away.”

“Thanks.” She rummaged in her purse, handed the man a generous tip and closed the door as he walked away down the hall.

The plain white envelope was marked ‘Eden Fox’, handwritten. The writing did not look familiar to her, and she quickly ripped it open, sliding the single paper out. She opened the page to reveal the contents.

Eden’s mouth dropped open, and every bit of air left her lungs. She stood in horror, letting the paper slip from her fingers. It made its way to the floor like a glide
r, back and forth, until it landed. She stared in disbelief as her heart beat so hard she thought it would burst from her chest. Nausea set in and she had to fight the urge to throw up.

Blinking back tears in total disbelief, she moved closer to the paper and took in the words written in bright red ink.

I’m coming to get you dollface!

  ***

Amanda came bursting into the office, gleefully humming an Adele song, startling Eden and causing her to jump nervously. “Miss Fox. I’m sorry. I didn’t realize that you were here already. I apologize for barging into your office.”

“It’s ok, Amanda. You couldn’t have known I was here,” she said as her secretary handed her a stack of envelopes and a parcel.

“Can I get you anything, Miss Fox?” she asked with concern in her voice.

“You know? I’d love a coffee, if you don’t mind, and only if you get yourself one.” She rarely drank coffee at the office, but this morning she definitely needed it.

She had decided to come into her office early since she never slept a wink Saturday or Sunday night. It was safe here and he’d never be able to get into the building. She was terrified at the thought that he had found her. How? Why now after all these years? She had been so careful. She could feel tears starting and quickly stopped herself. She wasn’t going to let down her defenses and turn into some kind of a sniveling coward.

Riffling through her mail, Eden came across a white envelope with only her name in familiar handwriting on it. A giant knot formed in her stomach as she tore it open quickly, almost desperate to see what it contained. It wasn’t a letter this time. Something else was inside. She spilled the contents onto her desk. They were photographs.

Each shot showed her in everyday activities. Walking on the street out in front of the firm, at the local deli, exiting Pulse the last night she helped out Mikala, even shots of her on the ‘Dean’ job site with Chase. It was so creepy she felt a cold chill run up her spine. In haste, she put the photos back in the envelope and deposited them in her desk drawer.
