  “I am calling the doctor.” He reached for the phone and called Doctor McIntyre. He held the phone between his shoulder and ear and propped her up on the pillows. “She just had one,” he was saying into the phone. “Five minutes apart?” He was watching her and saw when she stiffened. “She is having another one. I am taking her in.” He ended the call and got off the bed, going into the closet to get something for her to wear.

  His heart almost failed him when she called out to him. “Peter!” Her voice ended in a gasp as he hurried back into the room with a dress. He had called his mother and hers and they were going to meet them at the hospital. He saw to his consternation that her water had broken and he hurriedly got her cleaned up and slipped the dress over her head. “Breathe baby,” he said urgently. He had already put some clothes on and he reached for her bag and a spring jacket that he put on her before heading out.

  Doctor McIntyre met them outside the hospital with a wheelchair. “Okay, Kimberly,” she said with a kind smile. “Let’s go get your son out.”

  She was taken into the labor ward immediately and a gown put on her. She was given something for the pain which was coming fast and furious. He put on a gown and sat at the edge of the bed, taking her hand in his. “You can do this, baby, I am right here,” he told her softly. He had hated to see her in so much pain and had almost rear ended a car coming in the opposite direction when she had cried out at one point. Dammit! What had he done to her?

  She nodded and squeezed his hand.

  “The baby is crowning, Kimberly, so push only when I tell you to we want to avoid any tearing,” Doctor McIntyre instructed her.

  Their son was born at five a.m. weighing in at eight pounds two ounces and making his presence known the minute he came out. The nurse handed him to Peter as soon as she was wrapped up in a blanket and he stared at the red scrunched up face in amazement. His dark hair so like his own was flattened against his skull and his dark brown eyes looked up at his father curiously. “I think he knows who I am,” he said with a smile as he handed him to his exhausted mother.

  “Of course he does,” Kimberly said with an indulgent smile as she looked at her son. He was perfect and she could not believe that she had been having second thoughts about having him. She felt the love blossom inside her as she stared at him. “He looks like you,” she told her husband softly, looking up at him.

  “I think he has your eyes.” He kissed her lips tenderly,

  “You are trying to make me feel better that our son looks like you and not me after I did all the work,” she teased him.

  “Caught,” he said tenderly. “There is nothing I would not do for both of you.” His voice was hoarse as he held her against him and gazed at his son.

  They had visitors bearing balloons and stuffed toys and flowers. Some of the board members from his company and several employees came by to see the boss’ son and of course both their mothers and Charles and Deidre were there. Simone had called and told her she could not wait to see her godson. She was five months pregnant and said she looked like a trailer.

  She spent two days in the hospital and then was told she could go home with her son. Peter came with a car seat and wheeled them out of the hospital, securing them inside the vehicle himself. He had not taken his driver with him, preferring to drive his family by himself.

  Charles, Mitsui, Karen, and Deidre were at the house waiting for them when they got there and Gerard had prepared a tasty meal for them.

  “I really want one of them,” Deidre murmured looking down at the sleeping infant. He was cozily dressed in a monkey suit with feet to keep him warm and a blanket thrown over him. His bottom was up in the air and his fists clenched beside his cheek. He looked so peaceful and contented. “He is going to be a heartbreaker when he grows up,” she predicted.

  “And I am never going to accept any woman he brings home to show me,” Kimberly murmured, reaching out to touch her son’s cheek lightly.

  Mitsui and Karen stared at their grandson tearfully. Peter and Charles were downstairs leaving the women to fuss over the baby.

  “I know I have no right to ask you this but I am just going to say it.” Charles looked at the younger man steadily.

  “You can ask me anything, Charles, you know that,” Peter told him seriously. He felt closer to the man he had met in a little under a year than he had ever done with his own father.

  “I never had kids,” the man said sadly, looking down at the amber liquid in his glass. He and Peter were celebrating with age-old scotch. “I thought I did not mind but in fact I wanted children and I missed not having any. I would really like it if I can be an honorary grandfather to little Peter, that is if you don’t mind,” he added hastily.

  “I would love that,” Peter told him softly reaching out to clasp the man’s hands vigorously. “My son could never ask for a better grandfather.”

  “Thank you, Peter,” he said huskily.

  Later that night when they got home and he told Mitsui, he clung to her and cried. His wife held him to her gently and her face was wreathed in a smile of satisfaction. She finally knew what it meant to have a family.

  Their son woke up in the middle of the night demanding to be fed in the most boisterous manner. Peter told her he would go and get him and carry him back to be fed from her breasts. He handed her some water to drink before she breastfed him and made sure she was comfortable while doing so.

  “He is going to be very demanding,” Peter whispered as he watched him latch onto his mother’s breast greedily, his bright dark eyes unmoving.

  “I wonder who he gets that from?” she asked him teasingly, wincing slightly as he pulled at her sore nipple.

  “You okay?” Peter asked in concern.

  “Just a little sore there,” she told him with a smile. “The nurse told me it would get better as I continue to feed him.”

  He watched as she burped him when she was finished, rubbing his back and took him from her to hold him for a little bit until he fall asleep, before taking him back to the nursery.

  “Hungry?” he asked her as he came back into the room.

  “I am starving,” she said with a laugh.

  “How about I get you something to eat from the kitchen?”

  “How about we both go and get something to eat?” she suggested, climbing off the bed.

  “Okay.” he took her hand and they headed downstairs to the kitchen. It was one of the largest rooms in the house apart from their bedroom and was ultra-modern with parquet floors, marble counter top and a circular island in the centre of the room. It gleamed in the dim light left on and they knew Gerard did not tolerate mess in his terrain. “How about a turkey sandwich with mayo and lettuce and tomato?” he asked, her standing in front of the massive two door refrigerator.

  “Sounds delicious.” She climbed on one of the stools and sipped the Perrier while her husband deftly made sandwiches for both of them. He had on a loose pair of sweatpants and a white t-shirt and she could see the play of muscles in his arms as he sliced tomatoes. He looked up just then and caught her gaze.

  “I love you,” she told him softly.

  “I love you too.” he watched as she came off the stool and came towards him. He put aside the knife and opened his arms to her. “We have a son together and I cannot tell you how much that means to me,” he told her huskily.

  “I think I have a very good idea.” She brought his head down and their lips met hungrily, their tongues meeting and delving into each other’s mouth. “Baby,” he groaned, pulling his mouth away from hers, his breathing ragged.

  She surprised him by going down on her knees before him. “Kimberly?” he murmured as she pulled down his sweatpants and took out his semi-erect penis.

  “I want to taste you,” she told him and put him inside her mouth. He braced his hands against the counter and moved helplessly as she sucked him inside her mouth, her teeth grazing h
im slightly. She reached under to cup his testicles, squeezing slightly and causing him to shudder as the raging desire raced through him. She did not stop and it did not take him long to come inside her mouth, his body racked with helpless passion, his hands clenched on the counter as he flooded her mouth with his seed. She swallowed every drop of it and licked him dry until he thought he was going to die from it all. She did not get up until she had licked him clean and when she did he clung to her weakly, his body shivering against hers.

  “What can I do for you?” he asked her hoarsely, his body still shaking. He could not believe the effect she had on him.

  She pulled away a little bit and shrugged out of her robe. Her breasts were full and engorged with milk and the nipples large and stiff. “I need release.”

  “I thought they were tender,” he said to her faintly, his heart thudding in his chest.

  “I need this, Peter.” She climbed on the stool and waited. He came between her legs and bending his head, he took a nipple inside his mouth pulling on it gently. Kimberly cried out sharply, her fingers clutching his thick dark hair as a bolt of lightning shot through her body! He used his tongue to soothe where his son had fed on and by the time he reached the other one she was trembling and clinging to him. He pulled her to the edge of the stool and taking out his penis, he rubbed it against her underwear. He was not able to enter her yet so he did the next best thing to ensure her release. She cried out against him and he took her lips with his, their bodies clinging together as the sparks flew between them!

  Later that night after they had eaten, he held her close to him while they slept, confident in their amazing love for each other.
