“You don’t understand. We got his name; he gave up his real name. It took hours of Albu’s torture, but we got him.”
“So, tell Dimitri when they’re finished their vacation.”
“That’s the crazy thing,” he said, “he claims his name is Sokolov. Ilya Sokolov.”
She looked at him, not comprehending what he was getting at.
“The Trader is Dimitri’s brother. He claims Dimitri is his older brother. We have to call them, we have to let them know.”
She shuddered again and looked past Boian. That’s what she had been picking up on. He did strongly resemble Dimitri, the mouth, the chin, the shoulders.
Then he looked up and caught her gaze. He smiled, his teeth were broken and bloodied, and that’s when the resemblance ended.
His eyes were the cold eyes of a predator. His eyes held the promise of death and destruction, and his eyes told her he was marking her, and he would come for her.
And her baby.
