Because I Love You 2

“Zebrina, get your behind off that man like that.”

I watched Zebrina’s face drop as she released my neck and slid to her feet. “Mama, that man is my husband.” My baby flashed the shiny multi-karat rock that was on her finger. “Correction, soulmate, so stop your mess. I’m not going to keep subjecting B to this type of behavior, so you’re either going to treat him accordingly, or you’ll stop seeing him.”

I could tell she wanted to say something smart but was holding her tongue because it was obvious that Zebrina was serious about what she was saying.

“We’re about to go to the mall until Daddy gets here. I hope that’s enough time for you to get yourself together.”

Zebrina turned toward me and looped her arm through mine. “Let’s go, babe.”

I looked over my shoulder at her mother before following bae out the door. She’d spoken, and I was following her lead. My wife was pretty quiet the entire time I drove, which was expected, given how close she and her mother were. She’d told me all about their relationship, and I actually hated to be the rift between them. If her mother didn’t like me, that was cool; I didn’t have to be around her. I’d tried telling Brina that a million times, but she refused to just leave well enough alone. Always trying to make us meet up and shit.

“Why we coming here?” Zebrina questioned me as I turned into the first parking spot I saw.

“You said you needed me time, right?”

She smiled and nodded. “I didn’t mean for you to get a whole hotel room for that, though.”

I turned my car off and spoke coolly to her. “Breen, I’m too much man, and you’re too much woman for us to be trying to make love in a car. This li’l hundred dollars ain’t finna be shit to me. You know that, so get out.”

I got out before her and went to open her door. She was smiling bashfully when I grabbed her hand and led her to the entrance. I copped us a suite for a few hours and led the way. I could see her smiling to herself the entire time we walked. Even with Brina not saying anything, I could tell she was excited. That smile was what my life was all about.

“I can’t believe you did this.” She was still smiling as she walked around the plush suite, touching all the little furniture and shit.

I lay back on the bed, resting up on my elbows. “This is what marriage is about, baby. We ain’t one of those boring ass couples. We young, and your nigga has money and power, so we really can do whatever the fuck we want.” My voice was calm as I watched her and the way her ass was poking out of her skirt.

The curves of her body were Heaven sent and all mine. I leaned my head to the side, trying to look up her skirt when she leaned over to look out of our window. Even with me not being able to see anything but the back of her legs, it was enough. They were thick, with cellulite, and all of that other natural shit I liked.

  “Take your skirt off, Breen.”

Her body slowly turned in my direction. She tucked her long, red nails in the waistband of her skirt and pushed it down around her ankles. I nodded slowly to encourage her. Zebrina was wearing my favorite type of panties, and like always, they were my favorite color. From the moment I’d met her, she’d been buying red shit. From clothes to shoes and panties, it was red. The seamless boy shorts decorating her body was no different.

I loved seamless panties because you couldn’t see those thick ass lines across her ass. I used to think she was just one of those chicks who didn’t wear underwear, but she’d schooled me on that seamless shit, and now I was in love. I could drool at her hips and ass all day without getting distracted by panty lines.

  “Now, your shirt.”

Her arms crossed over her body and removed her top. The bright red bra with the black straps matched the panties.

“You know red is your color, right?”

She pushed her long, straight weave over her shoulder. “So, I’ve been told.”

I frowned. “By who?” I licked my lips as I watched her slide her feet out of her sandals.

Zebrina shrugged nonchalantly. “This Blood I know. He’s real tall… like you.” She looked at me while gathering all of her hair in her hands and letting it fall behind her back. “A real handsome dude with a lot of street swag.” She licked her lips and leaned casually on the wall behind her before looking away from me.

“That nigga probably ain’t shit but a li’l worker. Nigga probably ain’t even got no clout in the streets.”

Her eyes came to mine while she shook her head. “Nah, baby boy is the boss. He’d never be a worker. He’s too smart, has too much authority.” She exhaled hard. “He commands stuff.”

“That nigga ain’t shit.” I sat up and kicked my sneakers off. “He definitely doesn’t deserve a woman like you.”

Breen unsnapped her bra and allowed it to fall from her body. “If you disrespect him like that again, I’ll leave.” She took a few steps toward me.

“You must really like that clown ass nigga?”

“Nope, love.” She walked to me and stopped. “He’s my king, and I will not play about him.”

She pulled my shirt over my head and threw it to the floor before going to my pants. I stood to help her take them off. Once I was in my underwear, she stepped back and rested her hands on those thick hips. Chocolate, curvy, and pretty as a fucking star. My wife was the shit.

“Pop your shit then, bae,” I told her as she stood there staring at me and looking all sexy.

The way she blushed never got old.

“Come over here with your sexy ass.” I reached for her, and she came.

I rubbed my hands all over her body, kissing her stomach, hips, and hands while she stood between my legs. Her expensive perfume drifted up my nose when I turned her around so I could admire her body and the way it rested in those li’l panties. As soon as her backside came into view, my lips were all over it. I kissed and squeezed all over her ass, making sure to trail my tongue over the stretchmarks that covered each side of it.

“Blaze, baby,” she whimpered before grabbing my wrist. “I love you.”

  “Love you too, beautiful.”

I continued touching and rubbing all over my beauty before standing up behind her and switching to her neck. It was wet from my tongue kisses when I rubbed down her thighs and back up before freeing her of her panties.

“You know how proud of you I am?”

She nodded with her head down.

“Do you know how many times a day I have to make myself believe that you’re really mine?”

A light laugh came from her as she shook her head again.

“All day long, and all of our life, you can forever be right, okay? Every argument we’ve ever had or will have, you’re right, and I’m wrong.” I pecked the back of her neck.

  She shivered and shied away.

“Beyond the moon and the stars, you can achieve it all, baby girl. If you can’t, I’ll get it for you. You feel me?”

She sniffed but nodded like she’d been doing.

“You crying because you love me, ain’t it?” I moved her hair to one side so I could see her face.

A few streams of tears escaped before she hurried to wipe them away.

  “Ain’t you?”

She cleared her throat but still didn’t answer.

“I know. I love you too.” I stepped back, slapped her ass, got rid of my boxers, and lay back on the bed.

“Now, come over here and cum on my dick.”

The dramatic moan my baby released made me smile. She was a good girl who loved rough shit, and I was that nigga for her. Life was all about balance, and I balanced Zebrina out in every way necessary. I loved and treated her like the queen she was, but I’d dog her ass and spit that dirty sex shit to her in the bedroom. She was a sucker for it and kept me climbing the walls in return. I’d never talk harshly to her outside of the bedroom, and she knew that, but it turned her on when it was time to come up off that pussy.

Zebrina was fully naked and at her best when she crawled to me like the
temptress she was. Her body covered mine, hair swung in my face, pussy dripped on my dick, and her heart met mine in the middle. Some serious love was about to be made. Hence the word, about because that’s all it was. My ringing phone halted our magic. The only reason I allowed that, was because of the ringtone. It was the one I had set for emergencies.

All of my workers had burner numbers that I’d saved under one contact with one ringtone. That way, I could distinguish between emergencies and regular trap shit. Just like I only dialed their burners when it was an emergency on my end and their regular cell the rest of the time. I sighed at the same time Brina’s head dropped. She and I both knew what that meant.

I pecked the part of her arm that was the closest to me before tapping her butt. “Hold up for a minute, baby.”

She rolled off me and lay back on the bed watching me as I snatched my phone from the table.

  “What’s popping?”

“Hey, BB, it’s Azayna.” I frowned. What the hell was she doing calling me from Egypt’s burner?

My head dropped, and my heartbeat sped up as I considered all of the reasons why it could be her and not him.

“What’s popping, ma? Where’s Egypt?” I asked calmly, but still in a hurry.

“He just got shot. Somebody was shooting at us, and I don’t know why. It just came out of nowhere. We were riding down the street then the next thing I know, a bunch of shots started hitting the car,” she rambled off, clearly still in a state of shock. “BB, I don’t know what to do. He told me to call you.”

I was already putting my pants back on. “Where y’all at now?”

Zebrina, obviously picking up on my panic, was up getting dressed too.

“Still here in the car. Egypt’s conscious, but he keeps falling asleep. I don’t know what to do! I need to call the ambulance BB, he’s going to die, but I don’t know if he has anything on him. Oh my god! All of this blood keeps coming out!”

“It’s alright, ma, call the ambulance, he’ll be straight. Where y’all at?” I continued speaking calmly to her.

“I don’t want to hang up with you, BB, what if he dies? Egypt! No, boo! You have to stay awake. BBeeeeee,” she whined, “I don’t want him to die.”

This girl was losing her damn mind. “Baby, call 911 and let them know somebody’s been shot,” I instructed Zebrina as we finished dressing. “Azayna, where y’all at?”

“Near the mall, right down the street from it. We just left out of there, then the car came out of nowhere.”

I listened to her while whispering the rest of the information to Zebrina so she could get help.

“Aight, I’m about to send somebody over there to clear Egypt’s car and check on shit.”

“No! Don’t hang up. I’m scared.”

“Okay, what car is he in?”

If she told me that, then I could rest. Egypt never rode dope in his Challenger, only the old school. He was a stickler about keeping himself clear of any block behavior in his off time.

  “We’re in the Challenger.”

I exhaled and nodded. “Bet. Y’all good then. Can he talk? Tell them they’re in a white Challenger,” I interrupted Zebrina as she spoke to the dispatcher.

“I don’t know. Egypt, can you talk to BB?” a lot of movement came before she spoke again. “You’re on speaker, BB.”

“Aye, Blood, where you hit at?”

I could hear the bass in his voice as he mumbled something.

“In his neck, BB, that’s all, I think. I can’t see anything else,” Azayna relayed getting worked up again. “I’m holding a shirt over it. I don’t want him to bleed out.”

“Okay, help is on the way. Brina just called the ambulance. You just calm down and keep my li’l nigga alive. Does he have his vest on?”

I rubbed the lines appearing in my forehead away. Body shots were bad, neck and head shots were worse. I’d bet my life that he had his vest on which was why he probably hadn’t suffered any bodily harm, but I would have honestly preferred that than my nigga’s neck. I grabbed Brina’s hand and dropped my head as we hurried out of the hotel.

“Lord, please let my boy be alright,” I whispered, still holding onto the phone. “Pray for him, Breen,” I told her when we finally reached my car.

Brina prayed all the time, so I knew God would hear her prayers before mine.

“Already am, baby. God’s got him. He’ll be fine.” She rubbed my hand, trying to comfort me.

Like all the rest of the times in our life, I hoped that she was right. Only God knew what Egypt’s death would do to me. Unfortunately for me, I’d know the feeling all too soon.

  Chapter Four

  -Egypt

“Chill, boo. I’m good. I can go be with my mama now,” I said to myself as I watched Azayna cry on Zebrina’s shoulder.

The two of them were huddled in the corner hugging each other while my boy, BB, stood quietly next to them rubbing his chin. He was leaning back on the wall with one hand on his chin while the other one was tucked deep into his pocket. Cool, calm, and collected, just like always. I smirked as I thought about just how relaxed that nigga was. I’d seen him in so many different situations, and he’d had the same tranquil demeanor in every one of them.

“Come on with the tears, Zay.”

My eyes went back to Azayna when BB’s hand touched her back.

He was behind the chairs she and Zebrina were seated in. Baby girl was really emotional. I mean, I knew she’d been feeling me and had even bust down for me a few times, but she looked hurt on some real-life shit. Niggas died every day, especially street niggas. She should have been more prepared for this. She and I had both been in the streets for years now; we knew what came along with it.

“Just calm down, Azayna. He’s going to be fine, sis,” Zebrina tried to comfort her, but she too had a look of uncertainty on her face. “God is in control. Egypt can’t go anywhere that God doesn’t allow. Just have faith, friend. God’s presence is strong in that operating room. You better believe he’s got Egypt in the palms of his hands.”

I smiled as I listened to her speak so positively. I’d known it before, but the way she was holding them both together by herself was monumental. One of her hands was covering the one BB had resting on her shoulder while her other arm circled Azayna.

“Just trust him, y’all.” Zebrina spoke louder that time.

“That’s right.” My father’s voice came from the small chair near the wall.

I had been so busy looking at everyone else that I hadn’t even noticed his li’l short ass was there. Him amongst a bunch of people I hadn’t expected to see were settled in and waiting in discomfort.

Quez, Myeisha, and a few more of my bloods stood around the room looking distraught in one way or another. I was truly shocked by how many people were there for me. I kicked it with niggas on a daily basis, but I ain’t think we rocked hard enough for them to be up in the hospital worried about me living or dying.

“Aye, which one of y’all name is Azayna?” that tall, drunk ass nigga my sister married asked loud enough to be considered a yell.

He had just stepped off the elevator with my sister in tow. He had her tucked beneath one of his arms while she continued to cry. Her eyes were bloodshot red, and she almost looked like the walking dead as he led her further into the hospital’s waiting room.

  “Who looking for her?”

Fucking right! My nigga BB spoke up. His stance had even changed. I loved the way he held his head up with his shoulders squared off and hands in his pockets while making eye contact. BB was a boss ass nigga, never to be bitched up by the next man. As if picking up on his change of demeanor, the rest of my Bloods turned toward that nigga Yeshi, ready for whatever.

Shit like that was why I fucked with Blood so hard. The entire mood of the room had changed simply because of the dominance in a stranger’s voice. We handled shit, no questions asked. Didn’t even have to have all the details.

“I am,” Yeshi combatted, apparently aw
are of the posing threat.

I could say a lot of shit about that nigga, but him being pussy wasn’t one. He’d been on my ass from the moment he saw me and judging from the look on his face right then, he was still with the shit. I guess I could have at least tried to respect the bitch ass nigga.

“What for?” BB wasn’t letting up.

“I’m Logan, Egypt’s sister. This is my husband.” Logan’s holy rolling ass stepped forward to calm the confusion. “You must be BB?”

All of my niggas relaxed some, with only BB making the first move. He walked to Logan and Yeshi and extended a pound. Yeshi pressed his fist against BB’s before wrapping it back around Logan.

“I was looking for Azayna because she’s the one who called me. I didn’t know you would be here. It’s nice to finally meet you.” She gave him a weak smile

Leave it to her to be friendly at a time like that.

“Likewise. Good to place a face with all the stories.” BB turned and pointed to Azayna, who was out of her seat and walking toward them. “This is Azayna.”

Logan and Azayna embraced each other as if they’d been friends for years. They hugged for a while before pulling apart.

“He’s still in surgery right now,” Azayna told Logan. “So, we’re all just waiting.”

“And praying, I hope?” Logan looked around the room.

My bloods looked away while Zebrina stood to her feet and joined the women. “I am and have been since I heard. I’m Zebrina. B—”

“BB’s wife?” Logan smiled. “Egypt told me about you.” She looked between Azayna and Zebrina. “You two are both so beautiful.”

I shook my head as the women smiled. Their little pow-wow didn’t last long before Logan’s li’l short ass started calling shots.

“Come on everybody, let’s join hands and pray. God said where there are two or three gathered in his name then he’ll be in the midst. We’re all here, so that’s more than enough to bombard Heaven.”

“Yes, Lord, let’s get this prayer going y’all,” Zebrina chimed in, grabbing Logan and Azayna’s hands.
