Tessa knew she should be feeling nervous, but instead she felt elated. Getting into base was just a slight trouble. She had to sign in and leave her ID at the front desk. Additionally, Jazz was reminded that she couldn’t stay longer than twenty-four hours before more paper work would be coming for them, though Jazz had promised that she’d be out by then.
Walking through the base was weird.
“Some people leave, mainly those with girlfriends somewhere around, or the ones with family, but mostly the guys stay here during the day and go out to party at night.”
They passed a few guys that knew Jazz, but almost no one made any comments. Jazz told her it was because technically he had the higher position and even though he usually wasn’t the bossy type, they needed to show respect.
Some others couldn’t refrain from catcalling. “Jazz, two years no ass and then you show with something like that. You better make good use of it or I’ll come find her,” one guy called and Jazz fisted his hands, but Tessa just took them in hers, giving him a wink.
“I take that as a compliment,” she said, then picked up a brow. “You really haven’t had a girlfriend in so long? Or did you just not bring them here?” Her voice had gone quiet and she hugged herself.
Obviously she didn’t like the thought of him with other girls, and as much as he knew he didn’t have to ease her mind, he did anyways.
“In my life there hasn’t been room for girls. I mean, I never wanted a girlfriend because I want to go far. I’m going to be deployed sooner than I thought because next year the position I want will be free. This, the Army, is my life, and nothing changed about that.”
She nodded slowly and licked her lips. He had known her long enough to realize she was contemplating something.
“What did change though is the way I see things … and I saw you. For now I’m ready to give you all the time you want to have from me,” he added and her face turned back to him, her brows furrowed. He knew that for him this was as close as he’d ever come to telling her that she maybe would get him to consider this whole relationship-thing. Not that she was staying. Not that she had said she would even think about that.
“Good to know,” she whispered, insecurity written all over her face. God, how he wished that his friends back there had simply shut up. He stopped her, leaning down to kiss her and hopefully bring her thoughts back to much more pleasant things.
Tessa hadn’t expected him to be a monk, and she sure had thought that there were girls, but hearing him say that girls just were not really in the cards for him because his career was his everything, she wondered what made her special. And she wondered if he saw something in her that wasn’t there. Or maybe he was just glad that there wouldn’t be any commitment with her. After all, she’d leave in two weeks and had no idea when she’d next have the money to come back.
He had said that for now he was ready to give her whatever time she wanted. For now was stuck in her head.
She had a hard time not begging him to take her home so she could talk this over with the girls.
“Jazz,” she started, not exactly sure how to put in words what she was feeling, but he hushed her with his fingertip on her lip.
“Don’t even start that tone with me, Missy. I’m not letting you get away from me. You can’t tease me like that, drive me crazy, and then just try and escape. I don’t care if you show me minx Tessa or sweet Tessa, I want you and I want you around, so stop talking unless you are going to tell me to hurry up,” he mumbled, a note of urgency in his words that surprised her.
“Hurry up,” she whispered and he laughed, picking her up before she even knew what he planned.
“I’m gonna carry you to my room now, girl. I swear, you are not walking away today,” he said and she kissed his cheek, realizing that besides her nervousness and worries, she still wanted to be by his side.
He placed her on the bed after entering his room, just kicking the door close and then leaning over her. He grinned like the Cheshire cat and she laughed.
“You know what’s good about winter?” he wanted to know and she shook her head. She had no idea, but she was sure it was something amazing, because he looked smug.
“There are more clothes to take off,” he grinned and she laughed while he took off the scarf he had placed around her neck earlier, then unzipped her jacket, pushing it off her shoulders, following with her shoes and socks, making her smile. Getting rid of his jacket and his shoes as well, he crawled over to her on the bed. He growled, moving as if he was a tiger ready to pounce.
She laughed, loving his playfulness.
“What’s up, tiger?” she asked, feeling her heart race in her throat, not because she was nervous, but because she was excited. She wanted to know what was underneath all those clothes. From what she had gathered just by touching him she knew it probably would make her mouth water.
“I’m gonna bite you, have a taste of you, nibble everywhere,” he told her, his eyes going dark with that sensual promise. Oh, how Tessa wanted that.
“Oh yes, I have a few places in mind,” she gave back; pulling off her sweater and then the top she was wearing beneath it. Biting her lip, she gave him a teasing smile while running her fingertips along her bra.
An appreciative growl passed his lips and he moved closer, kissing her chest right above where the material of the bra ended.
“Damn, woman, you look edible,” he grinned and then he was kissing her, making her wish his skin simply would be on hers.
Jazz couldn’t say why he had been wound so tight before. He knew what he wanted, and right now he had it under him on his bed. She didn’t care that there was just one bare light bulb. In fact, he was sure she hadn’t even looked around and that made him feel like the biggest man on the planet. She was feeding his ego big time and he could seriously get used to it.
“Take that damn thing off,” she ordered, tugging on his shirt, an annoyed expression on her face. He moved up on his knees, taking it off much slower than necessary, but the way she was biting her lip another time made him want to slow down even more.
“God, you are…” She didn’t finish, but sat up instead and pressed her lips over his racing heart before running her finger along his dog tags. She kissed his neck, then his shoulder, letting her hands travel over his stomach and then his back while she brushed up closer to him. She was warm and soft and she smelled like a fruity shampoo and lotion. It was an intoxicating, unique smell and he brought his hand up, winding it into her hair before gently tugging her in so he could kiss her deeply. He pulled gently at the hair he now had in his hand, bending her head back until he could run his tongue even deeper into her mouth. She moaned against his lips and he knew she liked what he did.
He couldn’t say what he really wanted because there was this need in him to be just a tad rough, to mark her with love bites everywhere only so he’d know she was his and his only, and then he wanted to be gentle and sweet with her, caressing every inch of skin he could reach. It was crazy. He didn’t know where to start when she gently bit his lip, her finger finding the button of his jeans, opening the pants just like she had back at the truck.
“If you do that now, this won’t take long,” he threatened, but she just shrugged.
“I need to see you fully naked. I swear, Jazz, you need to get out of your damn clothes now. I’m going to go crazy here,” she urged and he couldn’t believe it, but he pushed her on her pretty ass before he got off the bed, turning his back to her.
“Jazz, that tattoo…” She gasped at the sight, almost making him smile.
Women dug that tattoo, but he didn’t have it for that reason. He had it because to him it meant something. It was a kneeling angel, his wings artfully spread over Jazz’ shoulder blades. The angel was holding dog tags, pretty obviously mourning who ever should have been wearing them.
There wasn’t just one guy his angel was mourning, but several that had died over the years since he had entered the Army. The tattoo guy had drawn the angel hims
elf and Jazz had never seen anything more perfect. Right now he didn’t want to dwell on the sad background of the tattoo, but the girl he wanted to seduce.
Running his hands along the waistline he threw her a seductive glance over his shoulder, liking that her eyes were glued to his jeans. Slowly he opened them, pushing them down so his V was showing, then he slowly turned back to her.
Her eyes followed exactly the line he wanted and he had a hard time to not groan as she licked her lips and then swallowed hard, slowly crawling forward.
“Don’t stop now,” she said, her voice having that sultry tone he had noticed before and it made him harder in his pants than he had been since entering the room.
He didn’t stop, finally pushing down boxers and jeans all at once and then straightened. It was weird letting her stare at him like that, and he was aware that usually this was the girl’s role, but he liked the way she looked at him.
When she reached the end of the bed he stepped closer, cupping the back of her neck to kiss her while her hands roamed his body.
“You are so hot. Like, seriously,” she whispered against his mouth and then kissed him, hard.
She got up, pushing him onto the bed, getting rid of her jeans. She wore simple black underwear, but he couldn’t say that he found it any less sexy than all the lingerie in the world. With a telling smile she kissed her way up from his knee and he figured that maybe he should simply let her lead. After all, she knew best how she…
He moaned as her hand wrapped around his cock and she kissed the skin right next to it, her hair brushing over his sensitive tip.
“Fuck, Tessa,” he mumbled, more feeling than hearing her chuckle while she started to stroke him, letting her tongue travel up the V he just had intentionally used to lead her eyes to his erection.
“That’s exactly what I’m gonna do,” she agreed, her voice humming against his skin. She was seriously out to drive him crazy.
Moving so she almost sat on him, one knee on either side of his hip, his erection was nestled exactly where he most wanted it and yet…
“Tessa, let’s not rush this, I wanted to -”
“You wanted a bed. You have a bed. I want you. I’m gonna have you,” she whispered, holding his gaze while unhooking her bra. He had to swallow and then reached out to cup her breasts in his hands. They were warm, soft and natural. There was nothing he hated more than fake roundness. Tessa’s breasts were perfect.
In a slow movement she stretched out on top of him, working to get her panties off while she kissed him deeply, then she sat up again. Jazz didn’t know where to look first, or which place to touch since he could feel her wetness and hardly could wait until it surrounded him.
“Do you have protection?” she asked and he was relieved that at least one of them could think enough. He was even more relieved that Tank regularly gave him condoms whenever they went out, even if Jazz never had used them. He was hoping he would be more than able to make up for it now.
“Nightstand,” he told her and she leaned over, bringing her pebbled nipples so close to his mouth that he moved up a little und sucked the tight bud between his lips. She shivered, especially as he reached around her, pressing her full breast closer to him so he could suckle her nipple harder.
“Oh, Jesse,” she whispered, drowning her free hand in his hair while he gently switched sides, circling his tongue around the rosy bud. Hearing her say his name, the real one, not his nickname, made him shiver because it seemed more intimate.
Placing her hand on his shoulder she pushed him back into the pillows, then she tore open the wrapper and rolled the latex down his erection.
He held his breath as she grabbed his cock and lowered herself onto him. God, how much he had wanted to feel that! She was his perfect fit, creating enough friction to make him worry he’d spill too early. She gave herself a moment to adjust, closing her eyes while placing her hands on his chest. She raked her nails over his skin, brushing his nipples in the process. He had never realized how sensitive he was there, but now growing lust shot through his body and he sat up again, slipping deeper into her.
“Shit,” he breathed against her shoulder before drowning both of his hands in her hair and finally taking over. He moved his hips ever so slightly while kissing her deeply. He wanted, needed more of her now, and the way she was moving against him was just what he sought.
Tugging her head back, he licked along her pulse, eliciting a shiver before he traveled deeper and kissed her breasts again. He wrapped his arms around her, placing his hands on her shoulders and steadying her while she moved faster with him.
He had never seen anything sexier than her. The way she threw back her hair, closed her eyes, and licked her lips again and again would probably be forever burned into his memory.
She was flying. Tessa knew she was close, but somehow she hoped this wouldn’t end just yet. Jazz was hardly making a sound and finally her lust-induced haze was penetrated with worry.
If he didn’t moan, did that mean he wasn’t enjoying this? No, she wouldn’t allow this to be one-sided. She had liked being in control earlier, and she was ready to take over again.
Rolling her hips slightly, he hissed.
“You didn’t think I was going to take all the pleasure, did you?” she asked, gently biting his earlobe. She could feel his erection react inside of her and it made her stomach tingle. Being so close to him was better than any position she would have picked.
“Tessa,” he breathed, clearing his throat before trying again. “Tessa, it’s taking everything in me not to come right now. Please, let me bring you right to the brink where I am. I want this to be just as amazing for you and trust me, quick won’t do it for you,” he promised, emphasizing his words with a stronger movement of his hips, then he moved a hand between them, finding her sweet spot. He started to rub it in the rhythm of their movements and soon enough she was walking the same borderline he had mentioned.
Taking his hand into hers she pressed down harder, holding his gaze while she rode them both to the finish line. She had to close her eyes as waves of heat took her over. He followed only after she had found her release. Holding onto each other, Tessa couldn’t help but wish that everything were simply different. She didn’t want to leave him after the three weeks were up, especially not after the night they had just started, but then again she didn’t really have any choice at all, did she?
Jazz suddenly stiffened. Something felt off and he moved, pulling away from her. His heart stopped right then and there, with him staring at a broken piece of latex covering his cock.
“Tessa,” he said with a lump in his throat.
“Jesse,” she replied and he felt her stretching out behind him.
“Tessa,” he repeated and then got up to get rid of the cursed condom.
“What’s wrong?” she asked, obviously noticing the strain in his voice.
“It broke,” he explained, his voice about to break.
“Look at me,” she demanded softly and he couldn’t. It wasn’t exactly his fault the thing broke, but still he couldn’t help but think about how Evy was. Hell, Tessa would be going back. If this accident now caused … he couldn’t even go there because he had no idea how he’d made it possible to see her through the pregnancy. And that would be the only right way to go.
“Jazz, turn,” she requested and finally he did, pausing because she looked positively glowing while his stomach was in knots. “Stop worrying. I’ve been on the pill since my sixteenth birthday. And if you worry about diseases, there’s no reason to. I’m a blood donor back home. I get tested regularly. You are in the Army. They probably run your blood through everything more often than I can imagine. Stop worrying and come back to bed.”
He did, swallowing. She instantly pulled him close, kissing him softly.
“What is it?” she asked and he shrugged.
“I couldn’t have lived with myself worrying you’d think I ruined your life the way that guy did with Evy. I -”
“You could never ruin my life, Jazz. Besides, I repeat, I’ve been on birth control. You won’t be tied to me anymore than before,” she promised and Jazz met her eyes. The happy expression had vanished, but he guessed it was just because he could barely form a sentence. As it was, there was too much in his head. Or maybe it was empty. He couldn’t think.
“What do you need me to say so you are okay again?” she asked and finally he shook his head, trying to stop his mind from throwing ideas of a family at him.
“Don’t say anything,” he mumbled, leaning in to kiss her again. She sighed against his lips, stopping his sweet attack with her fingertips brushing his chin.
“What bothered you more? The chance of me getting pregnant from a broken condom or the fact that I wouldn’t get pregnant because I take the pill?” she inquired, as always asking exactly the right questions.
“You regretting what we have,” he admitted and finally she laughed.
“Being with you is something I’ll never regret, Jesse Connor. Never. In fact, let me show you how much I appreciate you,” she grinned, moving so she was first kissing his lips and then traveling down his body with her sinful tongue. It didn’t take long and he was pressed back in the pillows, his body shivering as she licked and teased the part of his body that reacted strongest to her. Boy, that girl sure knew how to get a guy worked up in a matter of seconds. He closed his eyes; his hands finding a way into her hair as her head moved over him, making all his worries vanish.
Chapter Eight
Tessa woke up with a kneeling angel right in her face, and she reached out, brushing her fingertips over the clear black lines. Jazz shivered under her fingers, but didn’t wake, his breathing still deep and regular. He was warm and even though his skin was soft, she could feel the hard muscles underneath it.
With a soft smile she remembered the short, but pretty intense moment after he realized that the latex hadn’t done its job properly. She couldn’t help but be glad that she had remembered to take her pill simply because it had eased his mind. Another part of her though couldn’t help but wonder why she hadn’t found the right words to say to ease his tension. Luckily, in the end, she hadn’t needed any words at all. Still it surprised her how strong he had reacted, worrying he could have ruined her life, when in fact, she feared it would have been the other way around.
