The Commander's Fated Mate

by Lily Anton

Hell, it was pretty much the opposite.

  She hadn’t been with a man in...years.

‘Probably why you practically came when he stared at you.’

Leila dismissed the thought with a huff, uncrossing her legs and realizing quickly what a bad idea that was as it only made the need between her legs worse.

  “Leila...”

A deep voice behind her drew her attention away from the park as she stood up and turned, the sound of those two syllables caressing her skin, pulling an honest to god shiver from her.

Even before she looked up, eyes roaming muscular legs and a chest that only looked even broader encased in a fitted jacket that demanded respect, she knew who that voice and this body belonged to.

Still, it did not prepare her at all for the pair of gold eyes that were staring her down, pinning her place once more.

  CHAPTER THREE

ith the situation outside the embassy handled, and both the human and Debir females in the medical sector, Ezon had left it to Nelo deal with the wrap-up: namely copious amounts of write-ups for their reports (which honestly, would go to him to review anyways), the review of how Caleza, First of House Ma’Ion had been able to get offsite, and worst of all...informing Caleza’s mother.

His headache had returned almost as soon as he’d left the situation behind, a glance at the time revealing that any free time he’d had by leaving that ridiculous meeting earlier had been eaten up by the incident outside.

He commanded armies, protected whole planets from extinction, rallied forces too numerous for many to even

  comprehend…

Overseeing security on earth was ridiculous and a waste of his time, much more so when he realized just how much politics were involved.

Dealing with the minor altercation outside had been an annoyance; the human female simply of mild interest as she had gone out of her way to protect one of his own.

He had her thanks for that, but that was all.

Ezon doubted he’d even be able to recognize her again considering she had been covered in blood.

Yet even as he sat in the command center and listened to his counterparts back on Debiraan update him on the state of current affairs, brown eyes were all he saw each time his mind wandered.

“Stay safe, Commander,” General Yera’s voice filled the room, signifying the end of this session.

“You as well, General. Disconnecting now.”

He didn’t even bother with the others before making his way to Building Four, his mind already conjuring up the scent of Lavena in the water that always was able to soothe him.

Thankfully no one stopped him on the way, his headache all but gone as he finally dove into the temperate water, his body on autopilot as he took several laps deep below the surface, trying to clear his mind.

  Commander...may I request a match?

Through the water, the familiar voice paused his movements, his head turning to find Tanni swimming up towards him.

It had been too long since Ezon sparred, particularly within the water.

Tanni was younger, less experienced, but more importantly...eager to learn; this one had not seen any battle of any kind, his body and mind not affected by the horrors of war.

Still, Ezon appreciated his earnestness; to learn and grow, one could not have an ego.

Clearly the younger male had not expected him to agree, his skin flashing a lighter green in pleasant surprise when he nodded his head.

Both swam upwards to gather enough air for their match, descending back down and towards the edge of water’s containment cell.

Normally a more casual spar would take place closer to the surface, where technique could be focused on rather than landing a hit. The deeper one went, the more challenging it became to adapt that technique and use enough force behind it.

Tanni appeared pleased when Ezon had led them lower, obviously excited to be advancing in training. Pity this would be less about training and more about letting out his frustration from the day.

Ignoring the crowd that could be seen outside, he nodded and Tanni.

  Let us begin.

  ∆∆∆

Ezon was impressed with Tanni’s skill and efficient use of speed, dodging at the very last moment and avoiding what would have been a hard blow to the side.

He grinned, flashing his teeth as he drove forward, feinting with speed that should have not been possible with his size, and landing a hit to Tanni’s back.

  You have improved, Tanni.

  Thank you, Sir.

As they circled around again, bells chimed throughout the water, signaling that the time for sparring was at an end, allowing those that simply wished to relax and decompress the time to do so.

  That is a human!

  What?

Ezon frowned at Tanni’s sudden exclamation, turning to look in the male’s direction and seeing several people on their feet now and leaving.

Two remained seated at the very front, both females in conversation.

Since when is a human allowed here, Commander?

It is of no consequence, Tanni. I will see to it.

He slowly swam closer to the glass, ignoring Tanni’s question as the human female sat there speaking with Caleza.

  It was her.

Ezon felt the pull of her, soft and serene as if she were calling out through the water, guiding him to safety.

She was oblivious to his presence, seated there in a gown familiar enough to him to know that it was usually worn by females during ridiculously fancy dinners that he’d suffered through on numerous occasions.

Fabric fanned out around her legs, his eyes moving up to her body where her chest strained against the silk like material as if trying to break free.

His fingers twitched as desire pulsed through him, his body seeking to unwrap and release her from the confines of her clothes, her body laid bare before him. His tongue would seek out the heat of her flesh, his lips would taste her skin, his arms wrapping around her curves, holding her in place as he sank into her, listening to the sweet sounds she would make...

As if she could sense his thoughts, her head turned his way, eyes widening as she caught his gaze, pinning him in place.

He was powerless against her, her dark eyes slowly lowering as they tracked the lines of his body as they took in his presence.

And then, the spell was broken, her shoulders jerking as Caleza gained her attention.

He watched her stand up, her body seemingly unsteady for a brief moment as she turned and hurriedly made her exit, Caleza moving to keep up.

His eyes had missed nothing, watching as she had inhaled deeply to calm herself, her chest rising and falling.

Ezons’ hands clenched, as if angered at the loss, watching her until she was out of view.

He grit his teeth, a low ominous growl echoing through the water before he pushed himself away, seeking more distance.

By the time he was back at his locker, his anger with himself had increased tenfold as did the hardness of his main cock, the thick tendrils around it writhing in desire.

He ignored the need between his legs, refusing to give in to baser urges, drying off before putting his uniform back on and slamming the locker door so hard that it dented inward with the force of it.

“This is madness,” he cursed at himself, shaking his head as if it would make things any better.

The urge to bond had never hit him particularly hard, especially compared to other males, so whatever this was right now was not welcome.

He had ridiculed his fellow males on numerous occasions when they’d felt the Calling; that pull towards each other that signified an intense bond.

It could be ignored, if one were strong enough but no one he’d ever known had ever disregarded it. And certainly not now, not when their population dwindled little by little.

Yet, unlike these humans, spilling into another during such a time was a sacred act, one not done lightly,
and now even more importantly, done for the sake of continuing their species.

The Calling was becoming ever more rare as the decades passed, no one understanding what the Baza had done...only that they had done something in their final act of aggression before their last major defeat.

  And now these humans…

Males spilling themselves into those that were not their kind.

As if to punish him, his thoughts conjured up brown hair fanned over his bed, eyes heavy with desire and legs spread open as he thrust into her softness, his whole body stiffening above her, before he felt himself releasing his seed with a drawn out moan against her skin.

Blinking the thought away only replaced it with another: her rounded belly outlined under soft sheets as she turned to him, smile on her face as she beckoned him towards her with just a look.

A strangled noise escaped his lips, legs almost buckling as desire roared through him right there in the locker room, the only saving grace being that he was alone.

Even with the risk of someone coming in, his hands were already going to his pants, opening them enough so that he could grab hold of his main cock, ignoring the other tendrils that were seeking the heat he desperately craved but that did not exist except for in his mind.

He leaned against the locker with one hand, the other using quick strokes to simply be done with this. Heavy pants escaped him as he thrust into his fist with abandon, grunting with the movement in a desperate attempt to finish.

His body was coiled and ready, so close to going over the edge that it was now painful in its absence.

Ezon grit his teeth, biting back a curse as he refused to give in to what his body was telling him it needed in order to finish, gripping himself even harder as his tendrils wrapped around his fingers.

And yet...he needed this over, now.

For once in his life, he surrendered, picturing the female’s backside in the air, his hands on her hips as he drove himself into her, his body folded over her smaller form as she cried his name and tensed around him.

Within moments he was flying over the edge, blood roaring in his ears as he jerked forward, spilling himself over his hand, coating the floor by his feet with long ropes of his seed that seemed never ending.

Heavy breaths poured out of him, his shoulders sagging in both relief and defeat as he had given in to his dark thoughts in a desperate attempt to regain control.

The sounds of distant footfalls had him quickly moving to clean his spend from the floor before washing his hands, refusing to acknowledge the faint purple tinted color of the substance as he watched it go down the drain as he quickly closed up his pants. He wished he had not noticed its coloring; a sign that his body had already recognized what his mind was failing to acknowledge.

His reflection in the mirror made him grimace, and he left without a second glance, only slowing down when he was once again outside, the smell of the trees around him helping steady himself.

He wished this day to be over.

More importantly, he needed that human to leave.

  “Ezon!”

Perhaps if he pretended he hadn’t heard…

“Don’t pretend you can’t hear me!”

  “What is it Nelo?”

His brother pulled up beside him, easily keeping up with his punishing strides.

“I told you to go submerge,” Nelo scolded, a smirk playing across his lips. “You’re cranky.”

  “I have just done so.”

There was silence for a moment, his brother no doubt trying to figure why he was still in such a mood.

“...have you eaten?”, Nelo offered up, only to receive a glare in response.

Halting mid-step, Ezon rounded on his brother. “Why are you bothering me? We have seen enough of each other today.”

He almost felt bad when Nelo’s emerald eyes lightened for a moment. He was taking his ire out on the one person who could handle it, but it did not make it right.

Sighing deeply, he shook his head. “You need not worry about me.”

Nelo laughed. “I always worry about you. Always stomping through like the thunder cloud you are.”

Ezons’ eyes narrowed. “You’ve been spending too much time with Atens.”

The onyx colored Debir shrugged. “You think he is the only one that calls you such things? He is just the only one that does it to your face.”

Grunting in response, he began walking once more, his brother not so easily deterred.

Perhaps his mood was darker than usual as he heard the caution in Nelo’s voice as he spoke again. “Are you feeling well? Perhaps a visit to the medical sector? Even though you have submerged I know you had not done so for some time prior…”

He bit off a scathing reply with a snap of his teeth.

Yes. That must have been it. He had been overdue for time in the water and clearly it had impaired his faculties in ways it had not done so previously.

Perhaps as a harsh reminder that he was not as young as he once was.

  “You may be right.”

“Good! Come. I’m heading that way myself. I need to clear the human female’s exit from the embassy and arrange transportation for her.”

Going to the medical sector had just become a very bad idea.

“On second thought, I believe it is hunger. I will go obtain some food instead,” he pivoted as he spoke, changing direction so quickly that Nelo had fallen a couple of steps behind.

  “Commander! Commander Ezon!”

To borrow a term from the humans: shit.

Composing himself, Ezon attempted a polite smile. “Ambassador Nanti.”

The ambassador hurried over, her long fitted robes of midnight blue flaring out at her waist and billowing behind her as she did so.

Her Nacre-toned skin attractive to many with its rarity, as well as her flowing long hair of the same color, making it a useful weapon in her diplomatic arsenal. One of many.

Unfortunately for her, it was not a particularly useful weapon against the Commander, no matter how hard she tried.

Nelo bowed his head. “Hello Ambassador.”

“Nelo.” She barely paid him any attention as she placed a hand on Ezon’s forearm, an innocent gesture that belied the motivation behind it. “Do you have a moment? I wanted to review logistics regarding the upcoming summit.”

While the summit would have many traveling to Earth and fell within his purview, all Debir would be restricted to the embassy, whose overall security was Nelo’s responsibility.

“Perhaps we can discuss it over dinner?”

Apparently she was choosing to ignore that fact.

He could sense Nelo readying himself to agree on his behalf and wasn’t able to cut him off in time.

“You did say you were hungry did you not? Perhaps you should--”

His eyes flashed in warning, cutting off whatever else his foolish brother had planned to say..

“Unfortunately Ambassador, I have some business in the medical sector to attend to. I would recommend scheduling time with Nelo as he would be able to better assist. Have a good rest of your day.”

Without waiting for a response, he took the path that would take him as far away from Nanti as possible.

She was not an unpleasant individual...but she was annoyingly persistent.

  And unfortunately, so was Nelo.

“I do not know why you dislike her so. She is intelligent, attractive, and for some reason is fond of you.”

He chose not to respond, realizing only as they entered the central building that there had been a reason he did not wish to be here.

  “Caleza, are you well?”

They spotted her in the main atrium, her skin paler than usual as she chewed on her lower lip.

Seeing them standing there momentarily improved her mood before she shook her head.

“Mother is...displeased. I expect she will find multiple ways of expressing her disappointment. Moreso than she has already. And that was just over the comm link.”
/>   Nelo did his best not to smile and shook his head. “It is well within her rights, Caleza. Not only did you not have clearance to leave - which means I’ve now had to review security protocols with each of my teams - but more importantly, you could have been seriously injured, or worse.”
