The First Score: A Best Friend's Brother Sports Romance Page 7

by Amie Knight

“Over.” That was all she said, her voice so breathy that I knew she was as affected as I was in that moment.

I slouched down lower, careful she could only see the very bottom of my chin, and spread my legs wide before running my hand past my cock to give my balls a squeeze.

I grinned when I heard a quick intake of breath through the phone, loving that I could shock her.

I slid my other hand behind my head to give her a good view of the muscles I’d earned through hard work and rubbed my right hand over the entire length of my cock before gripping the base hard in my hand. The black cloth pulled tight over the head and I held in a groan.

I jerked it like that through the fabric slowly and I could have come in an instant knowing she was watching me, but I kept it steady and tensed my thighs, determined to make this time last. I’d waited so long.

And maybe I should have been ashamed how this was all going down. Maybe I should have been honest with her, but I’d known that would scare her away. I tried that once when we’d been teenagers and she’d been so nervous. Sometimes you just needed a little nudge in the right direction and while this might have been more of a shove, I was getting desperate. It was time. And maybe some of this was a lie, but so much of it was the truth. My love for her. My need for her. All of this heat. None of that was a lie.

I was practically thrusting my pelvis into my hand when I heard her say, “Let me see it.”

Her voice was nothing but a low whisper, but it was layered with the filthiest of nuances. Those layers swept over me like fingers themselves and this time I couldn’t hold in the grunt that passed my lips.

I slipped my hand beneath my underwear, praying I didn’t come on the spot like a fucking kid. Because that’s what I was, a virgin kid and no one had ever watched me jerk off. And I had no idea how hot the entire thing could be. And God, it was Hazel watching me. My Hazel.

Using the hand that had been behind my head, I pushed my underwear down past my cock and balls and under them so she could look her fill. That’s what I told myself. That it was for her. But I knew I was being selfish. I loved her watching me.

I sighed when my bare hand made contact with the silky skin of my cock. I wrapped my hand around myself softly and ran my thumb over the wet tip once, twice, three times slowly before I heard her again.

“Closer, Gray. I want to see it.” My cock jerked in my hand at the sound of her voice. The woman was practically panting and I could hear her moving around, the rustle of her skin on her sheets. I felt like I might explode.

I knew what she was doing and I could see it in my mind’s eye like she was real, lying in my own bed. Her smooth, tan skin on display. Her wide hips and big breasts swaying while her hand played between her white thighs.

“Jesus,” I whispered, giving myself a long, slow jerk to the image. I wanted to keep going, but instead I leaned up onto my knees and moved closer to the camera until I was right up on it. Until all you could see in the frame of the phone were my hips, my muscled thighs, my underwear low on them, and my erect, red cock. My hand stroking.

Leaning back on my haunches and spreading my legs as best as I could, I gave myself a long squeeze to gain a little control.

But it was almost no use. I could hear her even louder. Her panting, her mews. She was killing me and I couldn’t even see her.

“God, Gray,” she groaned. “You look good enough to eat.”

And that was the last damn thing I needed to hear. And I pictured her there. On her knees before me. Taking me in her mouth, my hand in her hair. And I imagined what it felt like, the wetness of her tongue, the suck of her lips, the graze of her teeth.

I pumped myself harder and harder and I felt it, the tingle at the back of my spine, the rush to my head.

“Oh, God, Gray. I’m going to come,” she said softly and I immediately came, spilling over onto my fist and white sheets, the camera catching every detail. And I watched and came some more. Fuck, it was the hottest thing I’d ever done in my life. And when I was finished coming, I used the sheet to clean myself up, watching the phone to make sure she saw everything. As soon as I was done, I heard the video chat end with a beep. She’d fucking bailed but somehow I didn’t mind. I chuckled, feeling lightheaded.

I leaned back on the bed, clutching the phone in my hand and smiling like I’d lost my damn mind. I should have felt bad about fooling Hazel and I almost did, but tonight had just been too good.

I made a decision then and there that I’d have to tell her soon. I couldn’t let this go on anymore than it already did. Tonight, we’d crossed a line and I was really hoping that when I told her she would forgive me and we could cross even more lines.

The phone vibrated in my hand and I checked it, hoping for a text from Hazel.

  Hazel: Good night, Casa Nova.

I should have been worried we’d taken it too far. I probably should have called Hazel right that minute and told her everything. But hell no, I wasn’t doing that. Not tonight. No, tonight I was going to sleep with dreams of the sound of Hazel coming in my head.

Coffee. I could smell it. I crept one eye open, noticing it was barely light outside, and closed it shut again quickly. Fuck coffee. I’d been awake until almost five in the morning with Hazel. I’d probably only gotten two hours’ worth of sleep at this point. And even though it was the weekend, I still had to train twice today, once at two and then again at six.

God, Hazel last night. I was in the middle of a daydream when I thought I heard a knock at my room door.

I looked at the door, thinking I’d lost my mind. There was no way Scarlett would wake me up unless it was an emergency. When I didn’t hear another knock, I laid my head back on my pillow and closed my eyes.

“Winnie, wakey-wakey,” Hazel sang from the opposite side of the door. I darted up and glanced around the room like I’d committed the crime of the century and needed to get rid of all the evidence. I noticed the white bedsheet I’d used to clean myself up as I heard the door creak open an inch.

  “Are you decent?”

Fuck no, I wasn’t decent. I was the opposite of decent. I’d tricked one of my oldest friends and my sister’s best friend into having video sex with me. Videos sex? Was that an actual thing? Christ. I was a horrible person. The opposite of decent.

I swallowed nervously and checked to make sure I was covered up from the waist down. “Yeah,” I croaked out, trying to look natural as hell when really I was freaking out. What was she doing here? Did she figure me out? Was she here to gloat? What the fuck was going on?

“Morning, sunshine.” Hazel came into the room with a giant cup of coffee in one of my college mugs. She eyed the sheet on the floor before looking at me. “Late night?”

I let out some ridiculous, awkward as all get-out hyena laugh and she looked at me like I’d lost my mind.

With a raised eyebrow, she made her way to my bed and sat on the side just inches from me. “You all right there, Winnie?”

She passed me my cup of coffee and I sat up and set it on the table beside me. “I’m fine. I’m good. Why wouldn’t I be good?” Holy fuck, I was waving my hands around like a mad man. I was so bad at this. So epically horrible at lying. I sat my hands in my lap and held them there. “So, what are you doing here so early?”

Hazel shrugged and that’s when I noticed her long, thick brown hair was down and hanging in waves around her shoulders. “Scarlett invited me over for breakfast before I work.” She hardly ever wore her hair down and I could smell the faint scent of vanilla shampoo. She always had on a hoodie and today was no exception, but this one was an emerald green that made her brown eyes show hints of green I’d never noticed before. She looked gorgeous sitting there on my bed. I tried not to ogle, but it was the middle of summer and Hazel was the queen of wearing the shortest of shorts I’d ever seen and today wasn’t any different. She had the best legs and knew it. They were on full display for me, the cutoff jeans up so high on her thighs I thought maybe I could see the bo
ttom of her ass if she was daring enough to bend over, all the way down to the black Chucks on her feet. They were slender, yet thick and muscular and the most beautiful shade of tan brown. My mouth watered at the thought of them wrapped around my head.

She crossed her legs, snapping me out of staring. “You okay over there, buddy? You look a little red.” She leaned over and pressed the back of her hand to my forehead. “You feel warm. Are you sick?”

“No! No! I’m fine,” I said loudly, pushing away her hand. Deflect. Deflect. “What’s Scarlett making?”

Standing up, she flipped her hair over her shoulder and walked toward my sheet on the floor. “Homemade cinnamon rolls and eggs.”

I should have known. Hazel had a sweet tooth and Scarlett was always baking for her.

I nodded but tried not to nod like a crazy person. “Sounds good. Let me get a shower and get dressed and I’ll join y’all.”

“Okay.” Hazel walked slowly to the sheet on my floor and turned toward it, which put her gorgeous backside to me. “Want me to clean this up for you?”

I jumped up, clutching the comforter to my junk, not because I was worried about Hazel seeing me naked. No, I’d love for us to be naked together, but I was more worried about her seeing the familiar black underwear from the video call last night. “No! I’ve got that.”

She stood up quickly, hands out in front of her. “Okay, calm down there, Winnie.” She looked like she was trying not to laugh at me as she headed backward toward the door, eyes still on me. “Join us for breakfast when you’re ready.” She studied me a minute more. “Are you sure you’re okay? You sure you aren’t sick?”

I walked toward her, dragging my blanket with me clumsily. “I’m sure,” I said, practically pushing her out the door. “I’m fine. I’ll be out in a minute.”

I closed the door on smiling but curious baby browns and leaned against the door, letting out a long breath. Fuck, Scarlett didn’t need a shovel. I was digging my own grave.

I took the quickest shower of my life, then gave myself a stern talking to in the mirror afterward about getting my shit together before throwing my dirty sheets in the washing machine.

I didn’t bother with shaving since I wanted to see Hazel again before she had to leave for work.

I walked into the kitchen mid-conversation. “I heard he’s coming back here to take care of his sister,” Hazel said, mouth half-full of cinnamon roll, sitting on a stool at the kitchen island.

My sister was washing a pan in the sink. “But why would he come back here? It just doesn’t make sense. He has a big career down in Florida.”

“Who the hell knows. That’s just what I’ve heard through the grapevine.” Hazel licked some icing off her fingers and I wanted to groan. She was trying to fucking kill me. “Maybe he doesn’t want to uproot his sister after all she has been through.”

Scarlett nodded, a worried look on her face. “You could be right.”

“Who has a big career down in Florida?” I interrupted, reaching around my sister to grab a cinnamon roll.

“No one,” Scarlett answered. “Just one of my students lost their parent and her brother is moving home to take care of her. Or that’s what Hazel heard, anyway.”

I raised an eyebrow. “He’s a football player down in Florida? NFL?”

“Yep,” Hazel said. “He was also Scarlett’s crush in high school.”

Scarlett sucked in a shocked breath. “You’re a traitor, Hazel Jones.”

Hazel swallowed the food in her mouth. “It’s not like you don’t tell him everything, anyway.”

Dropping a dish in the sink, Scarlett turned to glare at Hazel. “I don’t tell Ollie everything. Especially everything about who I like and who I date.”

“What? You don’t?” I asked, surprised. I mean, I didn’t tell her everything, clearly. But I thought Scarlett told me almost everything in the world. She wasn’t good at hiding things. In fact, she was downright terrible at it. I mean, I knew everything. Like that she’d never had a serious boyfriend. I’d heard plenty about the one who’d gotten away when she was in high school. Oh!

“So, is this the older guy you liked who moved away for college?” I asked, suddenly remembering the story.

Hazel pressed her lips together to keep from laughing. “Told you, you tell that fool everything.”

Scarlett went back to washing dishes, knowing she’d been caught, and I grabbed a plate off the stove with some eggs and a cinnamon roll on it and leaned against the counter next to Scarlett and dug in.

Hazel narrowed her eyes on me. “How do you even know that food is for you? You didn’t even ask.”

I shrugged. “Scarlett always leaves me a plate either in the oven or on the oven.”

  “You’re rotten, Oliver Knox.”

I laughed. “You’re not much better, Hazel Jones. You come over here at least three times a week to eat.”

She shoveled her last bit of food into her mouth and came around into the kitchen. “Yeah, but I help do dishes. What do you do?” She stood on the other side of Scarlett and started drying dishes.

“Sit here and look pretty,” I teased, knowing what she was getting at. I helped with dishes plenty, when Hazel wasn’t here to help.

“You are so lucky you are actually pretty, Winnie.”

I slid between Hazel and Scarlett and placed my dish in the sink before turning to Hazel, so close to her I could smell her shampoo again. “Aww, you think I’m pretty?”

The apples of her cheeks pinkened. “You know you’re pretty, Oliver.” She was drying the hell out of those dishes in an effort to not look at me.

I pulled on a strand of her hair to get her attention. Once she looked at me, I said, “I think you’re pretty, too, brat.”

Hazel tried her best not to smile or look embarrassed by my affection, but she failed completely. I wanted to kiss the awkwardness right off her face.

Unfortunately Scarlett fake gagging beside us ruined the moment. I used my heel to give her a small kick in the butt as I backed away and leaned against the counter again on the other side of Scarlett.

“Hazel’s right, though, Olls. You are rotten. Momma cooked for you your whole life, and now I do. What are you gonna do when you get your fancy degree and have your fancy job and move into your fancy apartment on your own?”

They’d both stopped washing dishes long enough to watch me for my answer. I made sure to bat my eyelashes and give them one of my panty-melting smiles that I knew girls liked. “Don’t y’all worry your pretty little faces about me. I’ll definitely be able to find someone to feed me.”

Hazel shook her head with a smile as she laid the kitchen towel on the counter neatly. “I bet you will. You’ve never had a lack of girls trying to ‘feed’ you.” She threw quotations around the word feed and I threw my head back and laughed.

“Hey! I can’t help girls love me,” I said through my laughter.

“Mmmmmhmmm.” She started to leave the kitchen, so I followed. “I have to go to work.”

“I only have eyes for one woman, Hazel,” I called.

“See y’all later!” She completely ignored me, damn her.

“Bye, Hazel!” Scarlett yelled from the kitchen.

“You working late?” I asked, leaning against the open door while she stood on the porch.

  “Nope.”

With puppy dog eyes, I asked, “Coming over?”

She shook her head. “Still nope. Gonna play my game tonight.”

“Have a good day at work,” I called as she walked down the stairs.

I knew what I was doing tonight.

  Age 19

Applause rang out across the room of the bar while all of Hazel’s friends stood in a big circle around her. Scarlett stood in the middle with her, a chocolate cake with chocolate icing (Hazel’s favorite) in her hand, with two candles that read twenty-one on them.

“Now make a wish,” Scarlett said to Hazel.

Hazel looked around at the circle of friends
and smiled before closing her eyes and blowing the candles out.

We cheered again before Hazel shouted, “All right, now let’s party!”

Everyone took off for the dance floor, but I stayed back, Hazel’s gift burning a hole in my pocket. I’d saved up for almost six months so I could buy it for her and I wanted to give it to her, but I wanted to do it when we were alone.

And I didn’t know when that was going to be. It didn’t look like anytime soon from the crowd surrounding her on the dance floor.

We were at some shitty bar called Taps on the outskirts of town and I had a stupid orange band on my wrist that said I couldn’t drink. Not that I would anyway. I didn’t much care for alcohol. The whole place smelled like old piss, old beer, and even older cigarettes.

And even though I didn’t really like the bar or the atmosphere, I couldn’t help but smile at Hazel and Scarlett in the middle of the dance floor with all their girlfriends, holding up shots and singing the words to some Spice Girls song that I think every girl in the world knew.

I went and sat at the bar and ordered an ice water, sipping on it while watching the girls do their thing. I must have sat there for half an hour when Hazel finally wondered over to the bar, looking as gorgeous as ever.

Her hair was up in a bun at the top of her head and she wore big hoop earrings and a tight-fitting green, long-sleeved shirt that was so low cut in the front I got an eyeful. I didn’t mind it one bit.

She leaned over the bar to order another drink right next to me and I’m not too proud to say that I checked out that ass.

The bartender handed her a second twenty-first birthday drink and she looked at me, bouncing her eyebrows while she took a sip.

“What you drinking there?” I asked, chuckling.

“A Malibu Bay Breeze. I have no idea what’s in it, but it’s fucking delicious.”
