“There’s a note.”
Brandon put both hands on my face forcing me to look at him.
“What note? Where is it?”
I pointed to the bed without looking away from him. Carter stood and grabbed it off the bed before sitting down again, this time closer to me.
“What does it say Carter?” The panic in Brandon’s voice matched what I was feeling.
Carter sat there studying the note before looking to Brandon then right at me. He held my gaze before he whispered. “It says, ‘I’m still here.’”
