Rough Love

In fact, once my arm wasn’t throbbing anymore and I felt up to typing, I opened Dita’s old laptop and decided to tell her that too. I’d come to realise that Liev wasn’t Jane Doe at all. Dita was.
I wanted her to know I’d keep her secrets safe. That she didn’t need to run again. That I understood. So, I told her, by the only way I could. Via Jane Doe and her fake profile.
I know what I saw was no apparition or angelic hallucination after all. You were real. You’re alive, and you chose to come and save me. I’m so glad you did, Dita. I’m so grateful that you protected me, because now I can honour your memory properly by living a happy life, knowing you’re doing the same, wherever you and Liev end up. If you want to stay gone, I’ll let you, but please know that I love you and will never forget the secrets you shared with me.
I miss you.
I love you.
Goodbye.
The end.
About the author
Laura started her writing career putting together short stories and fan fiction, usually involving her favourite movie characters caught up in steamy situations, and wrote her first full length novel in 2013. A self-confessed computer geek, Laura enjoys both the writing and editing side of her journey, and regularly seeks out the next big gadget on her wish list.
She spends her days with her husband Brian looking after their two young children and cocker spaniel Milo, as well as making the most of her free time by going to concerts with her friends, or else listening to rock music at home while writing (a trend many readers may have picked up on in her stories.)
Like many authors, Laura has a regular playlist of tracks she enjoys listening to while writing, featuring the likes of Slipknot, Stone Sour, Papa Roach, Five Finger Death Punch, and Shinedown. If you’d like to listen along with her, you can find her Spotify playlist by clicking HERE.
