Mad Passion

Noticing that they had an audience, Ron pulled his knife out. “Don’t make me use this on you and your brat.”
Studying the eight inch blade, she pressed her lips together. Keeping her daughter safe was the most important thing to her at that moment. “Ron, please just leave us alone.”
“If it weren’t for you and that bastard, that would be my baby,” he snapped. “Let’s get going before he show up and I have to shed some blood before time.”
Aware of the fact that he intended to do her and her baby harm, Madison dug in her heels. “You’ll have to do it here then—in front of all these people.” She knew she was taking a serious risk, but at least there was some kind of aid here. If he got her alone, there would be no hope.
Ron heard the door chime as Tyree entered the store with his two guards. Realizing that getting around them would be hard, he quickly threw his arm around Madison’s neck and pointed his blade to her belly. “I’m gonna walk out of here with her. So, I suggest everybody move the fuck out of my way.”
Tyree felt his heart stop when he saw Ron’s knife directed at his wife and unborn daughter. There was no way he would let this motherfucker leave here with his family. “Let her go and you can leave. Otherwise, you’re a dead man.”
Laughing bitterly, he returned, “I don’t think so.” Making a superficial cut on Madison’s stomach, he taunted, “I have what you want, and if you don’t do what I say, you won’t get to see your little bastard born.”
Madison refused to look at Tyree. She knew that if she did, she would do something foolish. When she felt the sting of the blade on her belly, she tried not to scream. Even though she gave it her all, she still made a sound.
Ron was so focused on Tyree and his guards that he didn’t see the store clerk creep up behind him. When the clerk snatched the blade hand away from Madison’s body, it wasn’t enough to keep her from being deeply cut. As she fell away, Tyree and his men ambushed Ron. She was dimly aware of shouts and screams. She saw Tyree repeatedly driving his fist into Ron’s face before she fainted.
Tyree was the first thing Madison when she opened her eyes. Smiling at his worried face, she reached for him. He wrapped his fingers around hers and kissed her dry lips. She scanned her surroundings and realized that she was in a hospital room.
“What happened?” she croaked.
Taking a glass of water off the bedside table, he helped her take a couple of sips before he returned the glass to the table. “Do you not remember?”
Scrunching her eyes shut, she thought about what happened. When everything came flashing back, she instinctively placed her hand on her stomach. “How—?”
“Everything’s fine. Our girl is okay.” He placed his hand on top of hers where it rested on her round belly. “Nothing was damaged.”
Releasing a relieved sigh, she relaxed. “What happened to Ron?”
“He was arrested—again.”
“Will they be able to hold him?”
Nodding, he sat on the bed beside her. “They have so many charges against him, he won’t be getting out for a very long time.”
“Thank God.” She sat up. “How long have I been out?”
Smiling, he replied, “Only a few hours.” He bend forward and kissed her deeply. Lifting his head, he stared into her eyes. “I love you so much. I don’t know what I would have done if something happened to you.”
“And I love you with all of my heart.” She smirked at him. “Although I think you would just miss my sex.”
He laughed. “I would, I can’t lie. Because for you, I have nothing but Mad passion.”
