  I brushed my thumbs over his day old stubble. “You do you understand that you saved me, right? You’re a huge reason why today I can walk down the street without looking over my shoulder. I trust you, with everything. I know nothing happened between you and Miley. It doesn’t make it any easier knowing she saw you naked, but I know you didn’t do anything with her.” I kissed him softly and wrapped my arms around his neck hugging him tightly.

  “You mean everything to me,” I whispered.

  He held me securely and breathed me in slowly.

  Chapter 27

  Kole

  Over the next day I got to see Lexi interact with her family and stepmom. I watched her as she talked to her little brothers and they hung on her every word.

  Radley and I were invited to stay the night at the house instead of our original plans to stay in a hotel. Out of respect for Keith, I kept my hands off Lexi under his roof. It was harder than hell not to crawl into bed with her. Radley fucking snored, and I spent half the night fighting my urge for Lexi’s closeness.

  Now here I sat watching her ass in her tight little shorts. It’d been days since we last had sex and I just wanted some time alone with her. Lexi still, after all this time, got my blood flowing and made me feel alive.

  “So, Kole…I hear you started your own gym.” I was pulled back to reality when her dad took the seat next to me.

  “Yes, sir. It’s more like a fitness center—aerobics classes, weight-lifting and personal trainers. With it being near the college I get a lot of the athletes. It’s doing really well.”

  “You don’t have to call me sir. Call me Keith,” he insisted. “I hear that you and Adam had a little conflict last night.” I immediately tensed; I didn’t want Lexi’s dad to have a bad opinion of me.

  “Yeah, um…about that. I need to apologize to both you and Kate. It was really disrespectful on my part and I’m very sorry.”

  Lexi’s dad chuckled deeply shaking his head.

  After a silent minute he spoke. “Kole, you don’t owe us an apology. I knew it’d just take the right man to put him in his place. Adam is a cocky asshole. If he wasn’t Kate’s brother I would’ve decked the little shit myself a long time ago.” Keith smirked as if imagining doing that very thing. “He has no conscience. He’ll sleep with anyone, married or single. The boy is just looking for trouble. He saw Lexi five minutes after getting here yesterday and followed her around like a lost puppy. A few times I thought I was going to have to handle him, but then you showed up.” He paused and looked out into the yard at Lexi.

  We sat silently watching her play soccer with her brothers as Kate sat next to the pool with Natalie and Megan.

  Radley was passed out in a lounger next to them.

  “Keith, I just want you to know that I love your daughter and I’d do anything for her. She’s amazing.” He nodded, but said nothing. I could tell he was silently regretting his time lost with her that he’d never get back.

  After lunch we all got in the pool while Keith went into the office for a little while to get some work done. Kate had to meet with her book club and we all insisted that they leave the boys with us.

  I was sitting on the step as the water lapped at my sides when I felt Lexi’s hand on my shoulder. I looked up at her, squinting past the glare of the sun.

  “Hey, beautiful,” I ran my hand up her leg gripping the back of her thigh as I guided her around in front of me. She took a seat on the step between my outstretched legs.

  She had her hair pulled up into a sloppy bun leaving her neck fully exposed. Licking my lower lip in anticipation I leaned forward and placed a soft kiss onto her shoulder before leaving another just behind her ear. She moaned lightly and I smiled against her neck. I slid my hands around her resting them onto her lower stomach.

  “Didn’t you miss your appointment with the doctor?”

  Her head fell back onto my shoulder and I kissed her once more along her neck.

  “Monday at nine. I moved it,” she whispered.

  My fingertips traced the top of her bathing suit at her waist and her eyes fluttered shut.

  “Does that feel good?” I asked and she nodded.

  I wanted to throw her over my shoulder and take her to the nearest bedroom. I missed the feeling of her body against mine.

  “I need thirty minutes alone with you, Lex. I’d prefer longer, but thirty minutes would work too. Please.” I was already growing hard from the fantasies rolling around in my head.

  “I don’t feel right having sex in my dad’s house. Especially with the boys here with us; they trusted us to watch them.”

  “See, you want me too. Let me make you feel good baby. Five minutes; that’s all I need.”

  I didn’t wait for her to reply before I slid my hand further into her bathing suit. I slipped my finger over her clit and through her folds.   “Sneak off with me for a few minutes.”

  I pulled my finger from her warmness and sat up straight when I saw her little brother Tyler swimming up to us.

  “Kole, will you be on my team? Kyle got Radley and I got Natalie and Megan.” He leaned in whispering, “I like girls, but they really stink at water volleyball. I think Natalie is actually scared of the ball.”

  I laughed and Lexi turned to face me, I noticed her cheeks were flushed. I kissed her lips softly and then leaned closer to whisper in her ear. “I will be inside of you before this day is over. That’s a promise.”

  I heard her deep intake of breath and I stood up, walking further into the pool.

  Chapter 28

  Lexi

  I sat in a frustrated state on the steps, watching Radley and Kole play a game of volleyball with my brothers. I secretly vowed to pay him back for getting me worked up.

  “You still pissed off at me?”

  Megan took a seat next to me on the steps. Throwing my arm over her shoulder I pulled her in closer. I gave her a big overly exaggerated kiss on her cheek and made a smooching sound before pulling away.

  “Don’t ever hide shit from me again. No matter how much it may hurt. We’ve always been honest. I don’t want that to ever change.” I hugged her tightly, “I love you, Meg. You’re more than my best friend. You’re my lifeline.”

  She cried on my shoulder. “I’m sorry, Lex. I love you too.”

  Natalie joined us after she saw we had finished our heart to heart. We watched the game continue until my dad and Kate made it home.

  Everyone laughed as Kole picked Tyler high into the air so he could spike the ball for the winning point. The best part was when Kyle turned to Radley and threw his hands up in the air. “Really, dude? Seriously, man, an eight-year-old just schooled you.”

  My dad laughed loudly and everyone else followed. Kyle swam over toward Megan. “You really love that meathead?” he asked with a smirk. “Whenever you’re ready for a real man, you know where I live.”

  He swam past her and grabbed his towel, walking toward the house. Megan looked at me doing everything she could to fight her smile. After Kyle entered the house everyone broke out in laughter.

  “Well, I think you got some competition, Radley,” my father proudly announced from the patio.

  Megan giggled. “He is a cutie, and I bet he doesn’t snore as loud as you do.”

  Radley just shrugged his shoulders and climbed from the pool looking completely unaffected. The guys made their way to the patio to join my dad for a beer while the girls sunbathed.

  Kate was younger than my father by almost eight years.
She was so easy to get along with and talking with her was like talking to Megan and Natalie.

  “Lexi, I know you and Kole aren’t sharing a room out of respect. We really don’t mind, sweetheart. I mean, you’re already pregnant.” She shifted her eyebrows in a suggestive manner and I know my mouth fell open in surprise.

  I knew my face had to be a deep shade of red. Megan laughed and Natalie sputtered out the water she’d been drinking.

  “What? I was your age once, not long ago I might add, and I know how hard it is to stay away from a man you crave.” I instantly knew she was speaking of my father when her eyes drifted off in his direction.

  I took a deep breath and smiled at her when she turned back to face me.

  “Surprise him tonight and invite him to share your room. I mean it.” She stood and walked away leaving me speechless.

  “Did she seriously just give me permission to have sex with Kole in her guest room?” I gasped.

  Natalie was the first to speak up. “Oh yeah, she sure did.” I watched as Natalie fanned her face dramatically. “I really need to find me a caveman. I mean all this sex talk is getting me excited.” She giggled when I threw my empty water bottle at her before walking toward the house.

  As I walked toward the guys, Kole looked up as if he could feel me. He lifted his beer to his lips taking a sip, watching me the entire time. I could see a smile pulling at the corner of his mouth before I slowly pulled the beer bottle from his lips and kissed him sweetly. I leaned over, whispering in his ear, “I’m gonna go soak in the tub for a while. You can think about me, all wet.” I kissed his cheek and walked away.

  Looking back just before entering the backdoor, I found him glaring at me playfully. I winked just before closing the door behind me.

  Chapter 29

  Kole

  How the hell she flipped this teasing game around on me I was still trying to figure out. I spent the rest of the night watching her flaunt herself in front of me. I lost count of how many times she rubbed her tits against my arms or her ass to my groin. I seriously felt like I would explode with the next touch.

  I followed her to her room to say goodnight and stood in the doorway. I knew if I got near the bed I would tackle her. It’d been too long and I wanted her so damn bad.

  I watched her from the back as she pulled her shirt up over her head. The minute that she unhooked her bra and let it drop to the floor I felt my cock twitch. I seriously thought at that moment that she was trying to torture me.

  When she turned to face me I knew it was true. She bit her lip between her teeth and waited for my reaction. I attempted to play it cool.

  “You gonna sleep like that?”

  This was gonna be the test. Could I continue this game? Or would I cave like a little bitch and drop to my knees begging her for release?

  She watched as I rounded the bed and stood before her. Using my thumb I pulled her lip loose from the hold she had. I lowered my mouth to hers taking her lip between mine, sucking lightly. I heard a little moan escape her as I continued to tease her slowly.

  “I need to get to bed. We have an early day tomorrow and I’m gonna be stuck driving back.” I dropped my hand to my side and turned to leave. I had just made it to the door and was about to turn the handle when she spoke. “Kole Hartman, if you walk out of that door, I swear to god, I’m gonna kick your ass.”

  I fought against my urge to laugh as I turned to face her. “What do you mean?”

  She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her bare chest. “Don’t play stupid. Get over here and get in this bed with me, now.”

  I watched her face as she held her serious but cute expression. She figured out that I’d just flipped the game around on her once again. It was now in my favor.

  “We’re in your dad’s house.” I stood near the door making no attempt to approach her.

  “I know.” She dropped her hands to her side once more. Her tits, begging to be touched, were once again in perfect view. “But my stepmom gave me permission to share my bed with you.”

  I smiled. “Oh, she did?” I walked toward her once again. “Well in that case, I should definitely stay here. I mean, I wouldn’t want to offend her.”

  I didn’t kiss her, but nudged her backwards to the edge of the bed. “So are you ready for bed? I’m pretty tired myself.”

  I lowered her to the bed, still refraining from her kiss. I could tell by the look on her face that she was the one close to begging. I brought myself to rest on top of her.

  “God damn it, Kole. Stop! Now!” She was panting as she spoke.

  I looked into her eyes and let my view wander downward until I focused on her lips. I pushed my erection against her center and watched her eyes squeeze shut as she whimpered.

  Lexi was completely oblivious to the inner battle I was fighting. I wanted to pull her panties aside at that moment and sink into her, but this game was too fun. I loved winning when we teased one another. I loved knowing that she needed and wanted me that much.

  I smiled down at her, finally lowering my lips to hers. She trembled beneath me as I ran kisses down her neck, pausing to suck on her shoulder before going any farther. She moaned loudly in response.

  “Shh, you gotta be quiet.”

  Lexi

  At this moment I no longer gave a shit that Kole had once again won the game. I just needed him. I felt like I was being driven insane by need. I felt like I was on the verge of violence.

  “Lexi, stop moaning so loudly.”

  I looked down at Kole puzzled. He smiled and continued to work his way down my body. I had no idea I was even moaning out loud. I was driven by pure lust and he was taking too damn long.

  I sat up and nudged him over onto his back. Quickly I straddled him and began working on the buckle of his jeans. He brought both of his hands up and laced them behind his head. He watched my hands as I slid his zipper down and started tugging his jeans down his legs. Once they hit the floor I crawled up his body and smiled.

  “Commando, huh?”

  He shrugged his shoulders. “My girl’s been gone and I didn’t have clean ones.”

  I laughed as I shook my head. “What in the world would you do without me?”

  Kole reached out gripping my shoulder and pulled me down onto him. “I never want to find out. I couldn’t survive losing you.”

  Before I could answer him he took my lips with his. The familiar and addictive feeling of his piercing flipped against my lips. Over the next few minutes everything happened so quickly. He flipped me over and gripped my panties, s
liding them down my legs. I tugged his shirt over his head and we became a tangled mess of arms and legs. The both of us were completely driven with need.

  His eyes appeared softer. “I love you, Lexi. I’m sorry we’ve had a rough few weeks. I promise you it’s gonna get better. We’re done with the drama.”

  I brushed his cheek with my fingertips and he closed his eyes, leaning into my touch. “I love you too, you big knucklehead.”

  His playful smile returned as he tickled my sides. “Knucklehead, huh?”
