Oh, I was fascinated now. I was just about to reach for his finger trying to see the little tattoo there, but he snatched his hand away.

I looked up at him, taken aback and confused.

“Get some rest,” Vlad whispered to me.

“You’re always telling me to go sleep.”

I pouted at him, and then his eyes narrowed into slits at me.

“I’m not tired,” I whispered to him, tilting my head, and tracing a hand down the middle of his chest. I was challenging his orders.

He was still trying to stop this, but it was too late. Desire clouded my mind, heating every inch of my body. It raced through me, pricking every inch of my skin. I was addicted to him already. I just knew I wasn’t going to get enough of him.

“Fuck, what do you want from me?” Vlad asked roughly, grabbing my hand, and making me pause in mid-air.

I looked up at him again, at his intense, fiery gaze.

My face broke out in a teasing smile. “Are you scared now, Vladimir?”

I threw his earlier words right back at him.

He growled low in his throat, ferally as if he was frustrated with himself and annoyed with me. His lips crashed down onto mine. There was aggression in the kiss, and he responded like he wanted to devour me, and hell I would let him. His lips were hot and skilled, his tongue slipping in. We were wrapped in a fiery embrace that unsettled me. My hands gripped his hair, pulling at it now. His hands slipped on my waist to hold me firmly.

I had never in my life been kissed like this before.

It lit me up like a bonfire.

Before it was just about need, now it was all about want.

I felt like I was crossing a line, that I should stop this madness before I was trapped. Before it became too hard to escape. We were tightrope walking on a thin line, and I wanted to jump off it. Every rational thought in my mind flew away. If I wasn’t careful, I would lose control.

He dragged his lips against mine. This wasn’t love, but I didn’t know what this thing was that sizzled between us. It didn’t seem like lust, even though I desired him. An aching loneliness was building up inside of me, and I was hoping he would fill the void. The tension that sizzled in the atmosphere, steaming the shower up was much larger than either of us. The fire between us threatened to devour us. It would kill us one day.

His mouth tasted so good. I hated that he was my enemy, my captor, the beast.

Just then Vlad pulled abruptly away from me.

I looked at him confused at his sudden withdrawal, wanting to pull him closer again. Then, I realized he had turned the shower off. Before I knew it, my legs were wrapped around his waist and we were headed inside his bedroom.

I groaned when my bare sex pressed against his hard muscled stomach.

His eyes stared up at me, darkening with a small smile.

  Stupid, smirking bastard.

I reached down and bit his lip to make him stop smiling.

Just then, he dropped me on the bed, even though I was still dripping wet from the shower.

Vlad hovered above me while I lay exposed in front of him. I rested my elbows on my bed as I stared up at him. His heated gaze took all of me in as desire rushed through my veins. I had no urge to cover myself now in front of his roving hungry gaze, I liked him looking at me. He was the sexiest of threats now and it was turning me on.

“You are so beautiful,” he spoke.

My cheeks colored at his compliment.

He pulled off his remaining wet clothes and I checked him out. Broody, mysterious, and perfect. My eyes left his face and wandered down, watching in fascination as he unbuckled his belt, then the unfastened the button before unzipping himself. His black boxers came off next. I swallowed hard. This was really happening now. My wide gaze took in his size. He looked so full, pink, and big, and I was afraid he might hurt me now.

  He was beautiful yet deadly.

I looked up at him, cautious and nervous now.

He moved toward me, and I inched back.

Then, Vlad paused and tilted his head at me.

“Are you scared Dahlia?” he asked me.

His voice was soothing and gentle. It was nothing like the teasing way he had spoken earlier. He wasn’t taunting me anymore. He genuinely wanted to know.

I gulped deeply and met his soft gaze head on.

“Why do you care, Vlad?” I said coyly. “You sound like you’re in love with me.”

Then, I grinned at him, cheekily. I couldn’t help it. Maybe this was my way of suppressing the things I was feeling. Making a mockery out of them.

His eyes twinkled at me. “Don’t get too cocky,” he said, smirking at me, and raising an eyebrow.

Then, he lost the smile when he leaned down and caught my nipple in his mouth, in his teeth, and increased the pressure until I was whimpering below him. My head lolled back, and I closed my eyes, trying to rest for a second. His rough, calloused fingertips traced over my other nipple with his other hand.

He pulled away for a second, before popping his finger in his mouth. I stared at him fascinated, unsure of what he was doing. Then, he slid a wet warm finger over one of my warm nipples in a slow spiraling pattern. I let out a small gasp. That felt so different. So erotic. It made me blush hard. My cheeks were getting hotter by the second.

His stubble scratched against my soft skin as he left angry kisses against my body. It left a trail of hot and cold, and it made me shiver with want and excitement.

“Vlad,” I murmured against his hair as he showed my breasts attention and adoration.

“I love these,” he whispered against my skin, cupping them. “I can’t wait to see you on top of me and watch them move.”

My breath was caught in my throat.

  What did he just say?

His gaze took in my stunned expression and the twinkle in his eyes returned.

“What? No dirty talk?” he asked, leaning forward, and sucking on me again.

He held my gaze the entire time. He crawled down my stomach, leaving kisses on me. Before I knew what, he was doing, his tongue brushed against my sensitive nerves.

I let out a strained, helpless gasp, my eyes rolling backward.

His thumb stroked me, finding the perfect rhythm that drove me crazy. Then he pushed one finger inside of me while still touching me. I tried to hold in a moan but I couldn’t.

It was a foreign, strange feeling, but oh boy, I craved more.

My heart thudded so loudly against my chest.

It was dangerous territory. Too intimate.

I had never had someone go down on me. I was giving him a part of me that I’d never shared with anyone before. I think we were past that though. I’d never shared a shower with a man either.

I glanced down at Vlad who was still tonguing and licking me. This man who was between my legs was responsible for my captivity. I couldn’t forget that. Ever. But the way he used his tongue, he was going to drive me insane, lapping at me, pulling me closer to the edge as he sucked my clit. I felt his teeth slightly graze me now. It made my body shake with every breath I took. My knees trembled violently, and I gripped my sheets as if I were about to fall. There was definitely no coming back from this now.

I ran a hand through his silky hair, pulling him closer as I cried out, releasing now. His hands gripped my waist, to hold me steady. I was a hysterical mess, pulsing and gyrating beneath him. I was breathless, probably disheveled. I thought I was in control earlier, but I was so wrong now. He held the reins, always had.

After a few moments, my heavy breathing calmed down.

I felt him position himself at my entrance.

He paused and I glanced down. Was he waiting for a signal? That little gesture made my throat hurt. It was getting so hard to hate Vlad. I had prepared to meet a monster, but I found something quite different instead.

I sucked in a breath as he pushed himself inside of me.

  We were united now.

I only wanted him, no one else.
/>   My enemy, my lover.

He was so full, it almost felt uncomfortable inside me. I should feel ashamed. He had abducted me, but I liked this too much to have any feelings of guilt. I invited him inside my body, welcoming him deeper.

His eyes darkened at me. “You okay?” he asked, roughly.

He asked me this a lot, and I hated it every time. There was genuine concern in Vlad’s voice. I only nodded, not wanting him to stop. I knew he wasn’t a good man, but I knew now he was trying. Everything was stark and cold in this cruel, new world.

I wanted him. I wanted to be with Vlad.

I wrapped my legs tighter around him and locked him in place. He began to move again, and the pleasure intensified, allowing him to go deeper inside me. Every stroke felt so freaking good. We fit together like the last two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle and I flew over the edge.

It was so sweet it verged on painful.

I felt my insides convulse and squeeze around him as he pounded into me. It was almost hurting, over and over again, a feeling so intense it stung with each release. My muscles tightened around him, pulling him closer to me. I shuddered again in blissful satisfaction. He pulled out of me, gripping himself, and began to move in slow, steady movements. I arched against him, whimpering, moaning, pulling him closer to me with my arms as he stretched me. He pushed harder and deeper, and I took him all in. My body unfolded to take him. As he moved, he growled moving faster, and I clawed at his back, marking him.

His eyes burned into me, never looking away from my face, seeing my expressions of both lust and vulnerability as I came. Everything was for his eyes now.

“More Vlad,” I whispered up at him, not recognizing myself now.

Vlad chuckled at me. “Say the magic word.”

I just looked at him. I knew what he was talking about.

  Then, I said softly, “Please.”

  Then, he pushed deeper.

I yelped against him and gripped his shoulders.

I didn’t know what made me say it, but I did anyway.

“If I say please, will you ever let me go?”

I didn’t want to get too hopeful.

Vlad’s lips turned upward in a grin. His eyes scorched into mine. “I’m never letting you go, Dahlia. You’re mine now.”

  His.

My eyes rolled back, and my head lifted, and I released again.

The sudden emptiness was more painful than ever when he pulled out and released.

I wanted him to stay there forever.

I wanted to be with him.

  Wanted to be beneath him.

  Wanted him in me.

I’d let him in now, inside my body, but also into my mind.

At least my heart and soul were left untainted.

  I hoped.

  Chapter 21

Vlad sat at the fireplace with Dahlia. It was just them. His men weren’t lurking around either. He liked how the flames cast shadows on her pale skin, illuminating it and making it glow.

It had been two days since they had slept together, and he hadn’t sought her out since then. He assumed she might have been sore after. He knew she wasn’t a virgin, but he could tell she was still tight, and he hadn’t been gentle. He didn’t know when she’d had sex the last time. He hadn’t asked. He frowned, thinking he should have been more cautious. He hadn’t even used a condom, but nor had she asked him to either.

He gazed at her across from him. She wore a wine-colored V neck shirt and baby blue colored jeans. He didn’t know why she didn’t pick out the more lavish garments and instead sought out the casual and comfortable clothes. It made him want to smile, she didn’t have to seduce him. All she had to be was herself.

That’s what he liked. She was real.

She didn’t have to try to impress him. He’d given her one of the most expensive wardrobes filled with designer label dresses and Louboutin’s, but she mainly wore jeans. Her face was fresh and clean today, except for the kohl that ringed her eyes. He couldn’t tell if she wore anything else on her face. The flames of the fire created a natural, dewy look on her skin.

Dahlia was sprawled out across from him, resting her head against the arm rest as she stared into the fireplace. Her tits seemed to be playing peekaboo with him. Arousal stirred in him again. He wanted her beneath him, on top of him, straddling him, and on all fours. He wanted to reach out for her again, but she seemed too comfortable in her zone. An intense need to take the desirable creature before him built up, but he could give her a few moments to enjoy at least.

“I didn’t use a condom,” he said, bluntly.

She looked at him, taken aback before giving him a smile, her cheeks turning pink.

“I had a recent depo shot done.”

Oh. He exhaled in relief. Then, he was suspicious.

For what? She didn’t have a boyfriend.

He looked at her again for more information.

Then, she sheepishly smiled. “Casual relationships.”

He only frowned at her, jealousy burning up in the pit of his stomach. “Why didn’t you fight my men when they took you?” he asked her, trying to distract himself from his jealous thoughts.

That question had been on his mind for some time now.

Dahlia looked at him, and a guarded expression came over her features now. It was hard to tell what she was thinking sometimes. She was always on high alert.

“Everyone had guns. It didn’t seem wise,” she replied.

He only nodded but then he paused. “Yet, you attacked me with a knife. How was that wise?”

She sighed deeply then. “I saw a chance and took it. Perhaps I wasn’t thinking straight, but I knew a weapon is stronger than bare hands. It reaches the enemy faster.” She stared at him as she spoke.

He only grinned at her. “Still enemies? I thought we were lovers now,” he said, whispering the word, lovers, as if it were their dirty little secret.

Dahlia’s eyes widened, and her cheeks turned scarlet. She tucked a tendril behind her ear, nervously, before averting her eyes to stare anywhere but at him.

He hid a smile at her expression, her vulnerability. He liked it when it slipped in through the cracks. She seemed more innocent then, like a small kitten instead of the tigress she liked to present herself as.

  Not that he minded.

He liked her strong mind, her fiery spirit, and her spunk just as much.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Dahlia murmured, sitting up and playing with her hands, looking for another distraction.

Vlad chuckled at her embarrassed reaction.

Then he spoke, “I want to see how you well you fight.”

  It caught her off guard.

Dahlia stared at him warily. “Fight?” she repeated.

Yes, show me what you’re made of.

He raised an eyebrow at her, smiling at her now. “Yes, Doll, fight,” he said, mocking her like he was talking to a child.

She pressed her lips together, clearly not amused by the idea.

“I thought you might like the idea of throwing in a punch,” he said to her playfully.

She tilted her head at him. “Who do you want me to fight?”

He smirked, enjoying her reaction. “Me.”

Dahlia froze then slammed her back against the couch, surprised. She blinked at him. Clearly, she hadn’t expected that. Then, her face brightened up in a wide smile. “You want me to beat you up?”

  He loved that smile.

Loved? What the fuck, Vlad? his inner voice shot at him.

He ignored it and shoved the thought aside.

He shrugged at her. “Good luck.”

Dahlia’s lips formed a grim line now. “Don’t go easy on me because you think I’m weak.”

He grinned at her. “I’ll try not to.”

Then she cheekily said, “If I win, do I win my freedom?”

She was a smart girl. Almost too smart.

“Are you afraid Don that I will kick your a
ss?” she shot at him. Her eyes seemed to be laughing at him.

He paused, his eyes widening before regaining his composure. Then, his lip curled up again. “Under different circumstances, you would get killed for talking to me like that. You’re lucky I like you.”

Very much so, he finished under his breath.

She sucked her teeth at him, sulkily now. She seemed to be getting too comfortable around him. She rested her hands on her stomach.

“How about if you win, I take you out?” he offered.

What the hell are you thinking, Vlad?

Maybe he shouldn’t. She knew how to defend herself. She would be impulsive and seize any opportunity to run, but still he wanted to take her out. She had been caged in this house for more than two months.

Her eyes widened before she beamed at him. “Really?”

Her voice was raised with obvious disbelief.

“Yes. I give you my word,” he replied. Then, his eyes focused on her. “If I win, I get to fuck you…” He waited for her reaction before he finished the sentence. He got one. Her lips parted and her skin flushed under his crass words. Then he continued, saying with a smile, “Against the wall.”

Even from the distance, he could see Dahlia held her breath in. She cleared her throat and then looked him in the eye.

  “Deal.”

Doesn’t she know better? She has no idea what kind of deal she just made.

Then she asked, “Where are we going to fight?”

Vlad looked around the large area, amused now. “I like the walls here.”

He liked messing with her, especially when she got riled up. Her mouth dropped open before she clamped it shut. Then, she glared daggers at him.

He simply looked at her. Vlad rose from his seat, and she quickly did the same. He took off his watch and placed it on the table next to him along with his phone. He noticed how her eyes followed the phone. It made him upset that she still wanted to escape and was still alert around him.

They began to circle around each other then.

He didn’t make the first move, instead, he waited for her.

Just then, Dahlia moved closer to him. He allowed her and didn’t retaliate. She landed a solid blow to his jaw, making his head jerk backward.
