  Epilogue

“Aren’t you ready yet?” Bryce teased as Casey tried to lift her already-huge pregnant belly out of the chair. Her husband and Dom moved to help her, Chris’s love and adoration for the woman carrying their first child obvious in every soft touch. Pregnancy suited Casey. She’d been grumpy at first that she could no longer indulge in the extreme fetish play that she’d enjoyed before becoming pregnant, but now she seemed eager for the baby to arrive.

Of course, being a masochist who craved intense pain, Casey would likely enjoy the delivery a lot more than most other women. She smiled as her sister practically ran through the room, apparently searching for something, her nerves and agitation nearly living, breathing entities. Bryce and Grant both moved toward their wife and gripped a wrist each in a clear indication that they were taking command.

“Breathe, Karly,” Bryce said in a deep voice. She gave him that adoring look that always made him feel like the luckiest man alive, and did exactly as she was ordered. He watched her face as she quickly released some of the tension she’d been feeling.

“I’m not sure I can do this,” she whispered quietly.

“Grant and I will be with you every step of the way. You’re ready for this. We know you are.”

“But—” she tried to argue. He placed a hand over her mouth, quickly cutting off any objections she might want to raise.

“You’re ready,” he said, injecting as much authority into those words as he could muster. She’d actually been looking forward to their first foray into exhibitionism for months now. She’d worked hard to learn the proper protocols of the club, to know what was expected, to understand the intense and intimate power play between a Dom and a sub when they played a scene for others to watch. She’d even won an award for her insightful, unbiased, well-researched, and deeply thought-out series of articles on BDSM that she’d published in the local papers.

He’d always known she would struggle to go to the club and face the people she’d hurt with her earlier newspaper stories, but she’d more than made up for it since.

“What if they still hate me?” she mumbled through the fingers he held over her mouth.

“Baby, they’re reasonable adults. Yes, a few might still hold a grudge, but most understand the reaction to your sister’s injuries and they know what you’ve been through yourself” She blushed at the reminder. She’d been horribly embarrassed that so many of the Doms and their subs had known the truth about her first marriage, but she’d slowly grown to realize the sense of belonging to a community that it gave her.

But it seemed that maybe she’d forgotten. She wasn’t walking into a lion’s den tonight. Many of the people who would be there were already people she knew outside of the club.

“Do you trust me and Grant?” he asked, already knowing that she did. She rolled her eyes, earning another punishment that he couldn’t wait to mete out. Ever since their wedding night they’d enjoyed a deeper Dom-sub relationship. He and Grant had discovered very early on in their marriage to this woman that tickling was a very effective method of getting their little sub to behave. She loved to be spanked, flogged, and occasionally even striped with a cane, but it was tickling that got her to comply to their wishes.

“Of course I trust both of you, bu—” He quickly covered her mouth again when he saw that she intended to say more.

“Then that’s all that matters. We’ll keep you safe, Karly. Always.”

“I know you will,” she said, leaning up to press a kiss to his lips. Tears filmed her eyes as she whispered, “I love you.”

He hugged her close. “I love you, too, little sub.”

“Do you think we could get this collaring ceremony done before I go into labor?” Casey asked from the doorway. It was obvious that she was quite amused by her sister’s delaying tactics.

Karly laughed, stuck her tongue out at Casey, and turned her gaze back to Bryce.

“Ready?” he whispered, knowing that the question showed just a little of his own concern. As her husbands and Doms, he and Grant believed she was ready, but they were also human and not immune to making mistakes.

As always Karly sensed his disquiet, proving over again that she truly was their perfect match, the seamless mix of submissive and caring, confident and trusting, that he’d searched for his entire life. She lifted up on her toes, pressed a soft, loving kiss to his mouth, and whispered two words that meant so much more to them all than just an affirmative answer.

  “Yes, Sir.”
