“Yeah, man, you been around my brother way too long with yo’ half-hood ass,” he said while still laughing.
“Whatever, punk. What do you want?” She studied all the eyeshadow Valencia had on her dresser while he talked.
“My woman. Where she at?”
“Upstairs in the shower.”
“Tell her don’t get dressed.”
“Eeeewww, gross. I don’t need to hear that shit from you.” She scrunched her face up.
“Get ya mind outta the gutter. I got her something to wear tonight. I’ll be there in a minute, man.”
“Oh, okay. I’ll be sure to give her the message.” She hung up and started putting different colors up to her face. She was happy for her girl. Vee was finally happily in love. She and Moochie had been getting their Bonnie and Clyde thing on. They had sex everywhere . . . in the car while driving, in the backseat, all over the house, even at Vee’s. He would have to hold her mouth to keep her from screaming out loud and waking Vee and Kidd up. She got chills just thinking about the time he gave her some mean head while she drove with one leg on the gas and the other on his shoulder. She was in love and in love with the thought of being in love. But she couldn’t help but think, was she the only one in love?
“Hey, Kidd said don’t get dressed yet. He got something for you to put on tonight,” Sena told Vee while she wiped the fog from the bathroom mirror so she could start putting her face on. Not that she needed much makeup, she just wanted to get her eyes looking good and put on a little lip gloss.
“Why you ain’t using the bedroom mirror? It covers damn near the whole wall?” Vee questioned as she stepped out of the shower.
“The lighting is so much better in here,” Sena waved her off. “And I got to get my bedroom eyes right.”
“I wonder what the hell he got me to wear. He looks like he got a li’l taste about himself but dressing me? I hope he ain’t setting me up to hurt his feelings,” Valencia said as she got out of the shower and put on her sea-blue silk bathrobe.
“I know, right? If he comes in here with some bunk shit, we gon’ clown him together.” They gave each other high fives.
“How he gonna, at the last minute, tell me not to get dressed? I got to put my face on according to what I’m wearing, and what about shoes? I already got something hot to wear.”
“Ah, trick, quit whining. I wish somebody would call me and tell me not to put something on ’cause they bringing me something to wear. I would lie across my bed ass naked, waiting on them to walk through the door.”
“I don’t see how you didn’t have sex for so long before my brother started tearing your back out,” Kidd said as he walked in and dropped three Gucci bags on the bed. “’Cause you sure do have a lot of freaky tendencies.”
“Don’t hate, nigga. Ya brotha loves it.” She got up, shaking her butt and dropping it down low. “Hate on that, punk,” she pushed him as she walked out the door.
“That girl is a mess. What do we have here?” She peeked into the bag.
“This is your bag, so you go get dressed with Sena, and I’ll get dressed in here. I know how she might need you to wipe her ass, or you’ll need her to snap your bra or some shit.”
“You being real cute right now, jerk.” She picked up the bag.
“Oh, I’m a jerk now?” He walked up to her.
“Yeah, and what you gonna do about it, jerk?”
“I got you.” Turning around to walk away, he turned back around real quick and grabbed her, then threw her on the bed and started tickling her.
“Okay, stop, please stop.” Tears were now running down her face. “You are messing up my makeup!”
“I’m a jerk?” He tickled her even more,
“No, I’m sorry. No, no, you not a jerk.”
“I thought so.” He leaned down and kissed her softly on her lips. She wrapped her legs around him, pulling him closer to her. Their hands explored each other until they couldn’t take it anymore. Kidd pulled the string on her bathrobe and let it fall open. It had been awhile since they were last intimate, but they were ready. Vee’s whole body was on fire. The temp in the room had gone up a hundred degrees. Kidd’s hands roamed her body, touching and caressing. He couldn’t wait any longer. He flipped her over on her stomach and pulled her on her knees. He knew this had to be a quickie because they had company arriving in less than thirty minutes. He tongue kissed the back of neck as he slid in from the back.
“Ummm . . .” She moaned as she grabbed at the sheet. The girth of him was overwhelming. He filled her up and took her breath away in one stroke. She buried her face into the pillow so Sena wouldn’t hear her screams as he went in for the kill. He stroked and hit every inch of her walls. She had begun to run away, but he grabbed her by the waist and held her down so she couldn’t get away.
“Uh-uh, don’t go nowhere,” he gritted. He could feel the nut that was ready to explode all the way from his toes. He loved to watch the waves flowing on her cheeks each time he stroked her.
“Oh shit! Yes, right there. Keep it right arrggggg!” Vee screamed into the pillow as her body shook violently.
He gritted his teeth as he felt her walls gripping his love stick, especially when she was coming. It was like he could feel her heart beating around his dick. His nuts were tingling something fierce.
“Grrrrrrrrrrr,” he growled as he came hard and collapsed on top of her.
“Shit! I don’t even want to go nowhere now,” Vee laughed.
“Right!” he said as he rolled off her. She slowly got up to go get into the shower. He admired her ass as she walked to the bathroom. “Girl, that jiggle of yours . . .” he said as he got up to follow her into the shower. After they washed each other up, they went to get ready for the festivities.
“Oh, and you a punk,” she said as she grabbed the bag and jetted out the door before he could catch her.
“Yeah, a’ight. This ain’t over. You better believe it,” he yelled down the hall.
“Yeah, whatever, jerk. I mean, punk,” she yelled back.
“Girl, what the hell is wrong with you? Shit! You scared the hell out of me, busting in the damn door like that,” Sena said, trying to get her heart rate back to a normal beat.
“Running from his stupid ass.” She was all extra giddy and happy, and Sena noticed.
“Look at you all super in love, and I’m so happy for you. I can’t describe how it warms my heart to see you smiling all the time.” Sena grabbed her hands. “I ain’t trying to get all emotional or nothing, but you deserve this.”
“Thank you. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. I just don’t believe in fairy-tale endings and happily ever after, though. You know what I mean?” Vee was trying to hold back the tears that were starting to fall. She was scared that Raven would come back and mess everything up. She knew she needed to tell Kidd about Raven, but she just didn’t know how.
“Yeah, I feel you, but it looks like you will get one after all. And all you gotta do is hold on to it with a death grip and don’t let go. You give me hope that I too will find my dream man.”
“What about Moochie?”
“What about him? We cool. I mean, I really like him. No, scratch that. I am sooooo in love. I just ain’t ever been into making a man love me. It should just happen.” Sena flopped down on the bed.
“You right, but if you saw what I saw you wouldn’t be sitting there talking like that. Put that pride aside, honey. That boy loves you. You’ll see.” Valencia winked at her as she finished getting dressed.
* * *
Kidd was getting ready, preparing himself mentally for tonight’s events. It would surely change his life forever. With no doubt in his mind, Valencia was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. He wanted to grow with her, have plenty of kids, and live out his dreams with her. He couldn’t wait to hear her say yes. In such a short time, he couldn’t imagine his life without her. She was his smile, laughter, and joy. No woman had ever made him feel that way. Whe
n she would call, he would get the biggest smile on his face, so anybody around him knew it was her calling. She gave him butterflies. He had to keep her in his life.
He was putting on his boxers when he heard a scream and what seemed like a million footsteps getting closer. He smiled real big because he knew he did well. Valencia burst through the door and jumped into his arms as they fell back on the bed. She placed kisses all over his face.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you, oh, thank you,” she continued with the kisses. “I love it. I love it, I love it!” She kissed him one more time, then got up and ran back to Sena’s room.
“You’re welcome!” he yelled as the door shut.
When Valencia opened the bags, she couldn’t believe it. First, she pulled out a Gucci camel-colored and gold Jersey dress. But what shut shit down was the camel-colored thigh-high Gucci boots. They were spectacular with the gold toe tips and “Gucci” going down the side real big in gold letters. Once she put those on, “Bad bitch” wouldn’t even be able to describe her. She was getting ready to put the bags down when she saw something else in them. A long black box. While she was getting the box out, she heard Sena say “yes.” Sena was in a whole other world.
“What the hell you yes’ing for?” She looked over to see Sena posing in the wall-length mirror with her boots on. She just started laughing.
“Girl, shit, I can fit these muthafuckas, so best believe I’m gon’ let you get your wears in, but I’ll be back.”
Opening the box, tears came to her eyes instantly. There was a necklace and bracelet set covered in ocean-blue diamonds. The necklace had a charm with the letter W on it covered in the most beautiful, clearest VVS diamonds she had ever seen in her life. She had money and a lot of it, but he had M-O-N-E-Y.
The girls heard a big commotion going on in the living room. Everybody was apparently meeting at Valencia’s house. She was damn near having a heart attack at the thought of all those shoes being on her carpet. And Sena could see it all over her face.
“Look at you. You about burst out into tears over that damn carpet. I can see it all in your face. Hopefully, Moochie or Kidd made sure they saw the no shoes sign. Come on. Let’s go give them a piece of our minds, damned jabronies.” Sena was teasing Vee, and she knew it.
“To hell with you, skank. I’m trying to stay focused, but shit, it’s killing me.” She was adamant about not having shoes on her carpet. She had never worn any on the fluffy white carpet and hoped like hell she wasn’t about to have to wreak havoc tonight. They finished their makeup preparing to make their grand entrance.
The girls walked in the room striking a Charlie’s Angels pose. Tony started singing as he walked up to them.
“I love your girl, wife beater with the denims. I love your girl, she keep them heels on high. I love your girl,” he sang as he put his arms around both their shoulders. The girls were shuttin’ shit down for sure. Both of them had their hair blown out and flat ironed bone straight. Sena had Chinese bangs while Vee’s was parted down the middle.
“We gonna need the guns tonight, ain’t we?” Kidd said as he eyed the duo.
“Yes, sir.” Moochie walked up to Sena and gave her a wet one on the lips, then took Li’l Tony’s arm from around her. “Get cha own, nigga.”
“Why? I just told you I loved your girl.”
Sena was also killin’ ’em with her high waist True Religion jeans and come fuck me boots. Her tight-fitted button-up and her push-up bra had her breasts spilling out of her shirt.
Vee was staring at Kidd in the male version of her outfit. Looking good enough to eat, she wanted to jump on him right there on the spot and get round two started. In his tan Gucci slacks and white button-up Gucci shirt, and to complete the outfit, he wore a tan fitted Gucci hat with the matching boots that had a big gold G on the side of them.
Sena broke her concentration.
“Girl, look at you. You about to burst open, ain’t you?” Sena rubbed Shay-D’s big watermelon-shaped stomach.
“I know. I can’t wait till this is over with any day now. I’m handing over the baby to Kaylin; then I’m skipping town,” Shay said rubbing her stomach in frustration.
“Don’t believe that shit,” Skillet rubbed her stomach too.
“And don’t you be rubbing on any bellies. That shit is contagious.” Vee looked to Sena.
“Let’s get going, man.” Moochie was trying to get as far away from that conversation as possible. He was happy and loving life, but he wasn’t ready for daddy-hood just yet.
“All my single ladies, all my single ladies” came blasting through the speakers at Bar Louie in Central West End. Every woman in the bar jumped up and started dancing, doing some part of that video. It was karaoke night, so it was jam-packed. The girls were picking out a song to sing. Vee loved doing karaoke, so, whenever she could suggest it, she would throw it out there, knowing that was what they would be doing for the night.
“This is my shit!” Sena yelled while dropping it low and sweeping the floor. The girl thought she was Beyoncé for real.
“Sena, what you want to sing?” Shay-D yelled over the music.
“You know damn well she gonna pick some Beyoncé or Destiny’s Child,” Vee laughed.
“Right! That’s my biiitch!” Sena sang while she swept the floor with her ass.
“Okay, I got it,” Shay said with a smirk on her face.
“What did you pick out?” Vee peeked at the sheet. “Oh yeah. I’m Beyoncé in this one.” Vee waved Sena over.
“Girl, I already know it must be ‘Cater to You.’”
Sena knew ’cause she always did Kelly’s part. Kelly’s part was a little freakier, and Sena always went with the nasty.
“So I guess I’m Michele,” Shay-D said with a pout.
“That’s okay, babe. You show them how Michele is really supposed to do it,” Skillet said, trying to encourage her. Sena snatched the paper and ran it up to the DJ.
“The DJ said we got one person ahead of us,” Sena said as she pulled Vee up so they could finish dancing. The guys were digging into the food on the table. It was covered with hot wings, fries, nachos with spinach dip, and mozzarella cheese sticks. It looked as though they had bought the whole menu of appetizers.
While Vee and Sena were dropping it like it was hot. Kidd noticed trouble walking up and thought for sure he was going to throw up. He kicked Moochie in the shin. When Moochie looked up, Kidd nodded to his left, and Moochie smirked, knowing it was about go down. Sena’s elevator had stopped going to the top floor and Vee seemed to have a bit of a chemical imbalance herself, so this was to be very interesting, to say the least. Kidd didn’t feel like any drama tonight, but he knew for sure he was going to get it.
“Hey, babe. How you been? I haven’t seen you in a while. What’s up with that?” His ex cuddy buddy Janelle asked. He hadn’t seen her in months, and they weren’t even that serious, but she had it in her head that he was her man. She was a top-notch chick. He just wasn’t feeling her at the time, but he could feel her getting too attached. He wasn’t into playing with a woman’s feelings, and he didn’t believe in wasting time. He wanted to either be with you or he didn’t and vice versa. There wasn’t room for a gray area. But when he met Valencia, he had it set in his head that he was gonna make her love him. He never bought Janelle anything, and the only place they went was to a bed, and never his. But somehow, she had come to the conclusion that there was something between them other than sheets. He had stopped talking to her a little bit before he met Vee, and hadn’t talked to her in months. But he knew her. She didn’t like the fact that he just up and stopped calling her, then when she finally sees him again, he’s with another chick.
“Hey, fellas. How y’all doin?”
Moochie put up the middle finger while everyone else either frowned or turned their head. Moochie never liked her because she was drama with a capital D. She put her arms around Kidd’s neck and kissed him on the cheek. Meanwhile, Vee danced watching the whole thing, b
ut she kept her cool. Sena, on the other hand, had already started taking off jewelry and started counting to see how many girls Janelle had with her. Not that she was scared, she just liked to know how many possible victims there were.
“I’m good, and yourself?” Kidd said as took her arms from around his neck. He cut his eyes toward Vee. She seemed calm, but, if he knew her like he thought he did, any minute some shit was about to pop off. She wasn’t crazy like Sena, but he could see the fire in her eyes. Janelle saw him looking at Vee, and she could see his face tighten up. She knew he really wasn’t for the drama. But her girls were there, so she had to save face.
“I see you sure are looking good.” She pulled out Vee’s seat and attempted to sit down, but Vee wasn’t standing for too much more disrespect.
“Excuse me. This is my seat.” She could feel her anger surfacing.
Janelle smirked. “I didn’t know this seat was taken, but how ’bout I sit over here?” Vee saw her head go to the side. Vee thought she meant the other seat but, in fact, she was talking about Kidd’s lap.
“See? Now you trying to be funny. I’m not into playing with other people’s kids. Now if you would excuse yourself, we were having a night out. You can call him in the morning when he leaves my house.”
Janelle’s face got real tight, and you could see she was thinking about doing something stupid.
“Please do it, please do it,” Sena said, noticing the look in Janelle’s eyes.
“Did you hear this bitch?” Janelle looked to her friends and started laughing. Everybody at the table could see Sena picking up the ketchup bottle. Shay-D was wishing like hell she wasn’t pregnant but found herself taking off her heels anyway.
“You sit yo’ hardheaded ass right here and don’t you fucking move.” Skillet could read her mind, and it wasn’t going down. He understood she wanted to help her friends, but it wasn’t happening tonight. He would have to kill any nigga or bitch that put they hands on her.
“Man, Janelle, would you just leave. We ain’t here for all that shit tonight.” You could see the muscles in Kidd’s jaw twitching.
