The Demon Princess

Not good.
Suddenly the big window shattered into small scraps of glass as if an external source had applied heavy pressure on the whole thing. Dominic and I were the closest to the window, and we jumped from the hurling fragments.
Cool wind entered the house as the lights suddenly went off. The glass bulbs also burst, along with the mirrors, except for one. I could see Amber’s shadow holding tightly onto Ezrah, she was even more scared than normal.
My gun.
I ran towards the side table and grabbed onto the gun while dropping a couple of things in the process, I did not want to loose it under any condition.
“They’re here,” Ezrah expressed. By they, he meant more than one demon.
“We need light, now!” Percy exclaimed.
I felt a wave of sharp wind hit me, it almost made me fall.
Three men stood in front of the window. The fireworks still continued to light up the nighttime sky, from the bursts of light, I could spot the demon appear. The one who had golden eyes, suddenly turned dark as ink.
“We have come to take what belongs to our master,” the middle demon said, he was rather short and had really pale skin, but his pupils were blood red. The one next to him looked to be stronger, he was huge with cracks all over his skin as if it were made of stone.
“Girls, get back,” Percy instructed, as he and Dominic stood in front of us. I used my phone’s flash light to grab Amber’s attention, and we both ran towards the kitchen. I had remembered keeping a set of candles around the lower drawer, Amber grabbed the lighter. We lit up the candles as fast as we could and brought them to the living room. It seemed that demons get stronger in dark, the candles threw off little light, but it could help the guys while they fought.
The three of them had already taken out their Providences and were fighting. But I could tell the demons had the upper hand, they were stronger at the moment. I looked at Amber who was very scared, I remembered the time she ended up in the hospital because of them. I felt so useless, could I really do nothing at all? Despite having the ability, I could only observe as the guys fought off the demons.
Grandfather’s horrific death appeared in my mind, I could barely hold in my tears. That night he left the world, he got caught in a horrible fire. I could have stopped him from leaving the house that day, I could have told him to stay but I only watched as the old man left to work in order to feed me. Even at his age, he worked to support me.
I held tightly onto my gun, soon I could not feel it anymore. I got worried and stared at my hand, until I finally understood. The Providence had merged within me. I clapped my hands vertically, I could feel the energy flowing through my veins, I had never felt this powerful. As I separated my hands from each other, the gun reappeared. The rust had vanished, it was shiny, I could not quite see its color but it seemed different from before.
All three men turned to look my way. Dominic, and the rest of the team smiled, knowing I had finally awakened my power.
I shot the huge demon who was also shocked during the moment, he howled at the unexpected blow and held onto his shoulder. I was not sure where I got the extra courage from, the ability to shot someone, but I was sure about one thing.
I liked it.
“No, impossible,” Ezrah shouted, alerted to my power.
I could not understand Ezrah’s words. He looked at the device he needed to use in order to read the demons' minds. Maybe he already did. The flames of the candles flared up even more, spreading the light throughout the room. One to the other like a rope of flash. The remaining two demons got onto their knees while facing me.
“You have finally awakened your powers, Demon Princess.”
“W-What do you mean?” Amber yelled with furrowed brows.
“Astrid Diabolos is The Demon Princess.”
I looked towards the only mirror left, placed on the wall next to me. My canine teeth had started to grow—pitch black circles covered the white area of my eyes. I looked at my nails, they had grown long and dark and my brown hair turned silver. I could not look at myself anymore, and turned to Dominic who was beyond stunned. “I am the demon child?”
