“This way, kitten,” Brendan said directly into her ear, then grabbed her hand in his and led her to the table near the back of the bar. She recognized Trent, Ty, and Faith at the table, but there were five other men she had never met before.

“Lucy! Thank goodness you’re here!” Faith squealed as she leapt from the table and threw her arms around Lucy.

Lucy had never really had a friend before so patted her awkwardly on the back.

“Come and sit down. Save me from all this testosterone!”

Lucy found herself dragged to the table and seated with Faith on one side and Cody and Brendan on the other. She was introduced to AJ and Sam Carson, who were Brendan and Cody’s cousins, and the other three men were Chase, Wyatt, and Luke Greyson. All five of them stood to greet her, making her feel at home and talking smack with Brendan and Cody. It was obvious that these men were close.

They heckled each other as much as they laughed together. There was constant bantering about some bet that Cody had won. Cody laughed and took the jibes with a grin as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a wad of cash that made Lucy blink. “It was all worth it in the end boys, and now drinks are on me!”

Cody gave the money to AJ, who took it to the bar. He spoke to a couple of tables on his way who all whooped and cheered sending waves and shouts of thanks Cody’s way.

A little bemused, Lucy turned to Cody. “What have I missed?”

“The day we met you, well, it was lucky for me in more ways than one, Luce.” Cody rested his arm behind her on the top of her chair. “I won a bet and promised to put the money on the bar for the other boys from the firehouse. Tonight, I make good on that promise.”

“What my snake of a brother has neglected to mention,” Brendan said, leaning around Cody so he could see her better, “is that the asshole bet on a race between AJ and me, and he backed AJ!”

The brothers then began to argue between them, and Lucy smiled at how content she felt, like she had actually found a place where she belonged. The evening was fun and relaxed, and she had even plucked up enough courage to enjoy a dance or two with her men. Many people stopped at their table to say hello, and Lucy had no chance of remembering their names. Quite a few of them were women, not that she could blame them. Their table had a high proportion of Hottie McHotties.

She noticed that AJ was quite free with the petting and flirting and she noticed he pocketed a few numbers, whereas Sam just spoke with them, politely declining numbers. The women that approached her men, and still a thrill ricocheted down her spine at that thought, were politely diverted to the single men at the table. Lucy enjoyed the music, the light beers she was slowly sipping, the company, and the continual touches and kisses her men would give her throughout the night. Never had she had an evening like it.

Faith placed a fresh beer in front of her and then leaned closer to talk privately. “So, how have things been going between you three?”

The fact that Lucy felt Cody tense a little beside her meant that he had heard. Hard not to she guessed with the enhanced hearing and all that other stuff on the wolfy benefit list he mentioned.

“It’s been amazing.” Lucy couldn’t help the big goofy smile on her face. “They have both been real attentive and understanding. Some of it is a little difficult to deal with, but I’m getting to know them both real well.

“What do mean difficult to deal with? Ty mentioned that you were aware of how, ah, special they are and you haven’t run screaming from town at how bossy these guys can be, so what’s the dealio?” Faith giggled and shot a glance at her mates who were now both looking at her through narrowed eyes and Lucy heard a low rumbling noise.

“I love it when they get all growly.” Faith shivered a little, took a big gulp of her drink, then focused back on Lucy.

Lucy lifted her own bottle to her lips and took a sip to wet her suddenly dry mouth. “Well, I’ve had to face some pretty hard truths about what I thought I knew to be real in the world. And I accepted them pretty fast.”

“Why do you think you accepted them so fast?” Faith asked.

Lucy sat quietly for a moment, gathering her thoughts. “I think it was my life in general up until this point. No one has ever wanted me. I have had absolutely no luck when it came to love, men, or even finding happiness. It was all I could do to simply survive. Then when I imagined that there was little left in my life to live for, I woke up in a hospital surrounded by people who wanted to help me.”

“Faith, no one has ever offered to help me before, not without wanting something in return but here were two men that not only offered, but insisted they be allowed to help me. And all they wanted from me in return was to spend time with me, get to know me and give them a chance to court me.

“Then as I spent more time with them I quickly realized that I was falling for them both pretty hard and fast. I figured that if the world I had always known could only give me pain, suffering, and heartache, why couldn’t I belong in a world of laughter, protection, and potential happiness? I mean that’s what it’s like in Grey River for me. I feel safe. And for the first time in my life, I feel wanted.”

Lucy smiled a little as she finally put into words what she had been feeling for the past couple of days. Looking up she saw that all eyes were on her, no one at the table continuing to even fake not listening. All of them were staring at her while she pretty much opened her chest and placed her still beating heart wrapped in a pretty little bow, right at the feet of the two men who sat beside her. Not wanting to look at them yet, she looked at Faith and was surprised to see understanding in her eyes that shimmered with tears.

“Lucy, I am so glad you’re here with us. Every man at this table, hell in this town would protect you if needed. All you have to do is let them.”

“I told you Lucy, you’re pack now, and we take care of our own. Strong alone but stronger together.” Ty gave her a warm smile, and Trent nodded and winked at her.

“Hell, Lucy,” Chase said, grinning at her, “with the possessive vibes coming off these two”—he nodded at Cody and Brendan—“every damn man in this place, shifter or otherwise knows your wanted. You may not have seen them as you walked in, but there were more than one set of appreciative male eyes on you as you walked across the room. I do believe Cody actually snarled at a couple who appreciated you walking away from them a little too much, if you catch my drift.”

Lucy sat back startled. She hadn’t been aware of anything like that when they had entered. She had seen the gleam of appreciation in a few of the female patrons in the room, but with Brendan holding her hand, and Cody walking behind her, she had ignored them all. She turned to look at Brendan and Cody and lost her breath at the intense looks they were giving her.

“Yeah, Lucy, he’s telling you the truth. We definitely want you, but more than that, we need you, too. You are as essential to us as the air we breathe,” Cody murmured as he reached over, lifted her out of her chair, and placed her on his lap. He turned her slightly so that she was facing Brendan, placed a hand on her thigh.

“Now, kitten, there was something I wanted to ask you to expand on a little. You said something about falling hard and fast?”

Lucy felt color rise a little in her cheeks, but she pushed aside her fear and admitted, “I am falling hard and fast for the both of you. I know that’s a little fast, but what are ya gonna do, huh?” She smiled to hide her embarrassment. It was always going to be embarrassing to tell them how she felt, but doing it in a room full of shifters the bulk of whom could probably hear her, put this up there with having to sing in public on her embarrassment scale. Naked and singing in public at that!

“Lucy, you say that like you’re the only one doing the falling.” Brendan smiled gently at her. “But I can tell you, baby, that as far as Cody and I are concerned, it’s about damn time you joined us! We’ve been on this downward journey since the moment we met you!”

“Lucy, pet, you are our mate, chosen by the Gods to be our fated one, the one woman
who would complete us as men. We know you’ve had to walk a hard journey to be here in our arms, that there have been times in your life where you have been hurt and scared. But now that you’re here”—he squeezed her closer to him—“in our arms, allowing us to protect you and cherish you, our journey forward will be so much easier. Baby, we’ll carry you if we need to.”

Lucy’s heart swelled, not only because of the words they had just given her but because of the blaze of love that just came from a connection deep inside her she had yet to fully comprehend as well.

“That’s it! AJ, Sam, you had better get those flyers completed, these boys are going to run classes to teach y’all how to talk to a woman!” Faith spoke through gritted teeth from behind her.

“Ahh, sweet girl, come on!” Ty threw his hands in the air. “We talk pretty to you all the time!”

Trent got in on it, too. “Yeah, baby, there was a lot of sweet talk going on just last night!”

“I’m not talking about pillow talk you single-minded ninnies, I am talking about the romantic, melt-your-heart, make-you-want-to-curl-up-in-his-lap-forever kind of talk that we just heard. And if you want to see me in that outfit you brought, the one with the ridiculously high heels, then you had better get to learning!” Faith yelled back.

This was met by silence. Not just at their table but from all the shifters in the bar. Then a rumbling started, low and intense, and Lucy could feel a pressure building in the room. There must have been a very serious conversation going on between Faith and her mates, there were some intense looks between the three and quite a bit of growling from all three.

Then, the pressure lifted and the noise stopped. Faith was grinning like the cat that got the cream, and when Lucy looked at Ty and Trent, they had the same grin and, hot holy jalapeno, a rather wicked and very serious look in their eyes that were flashing blue.

“AJ, Sam, you heard our mate. Let’s get this thing booked and organized as soon as possible.” Trent’s voice was heavy, his eyes never leaving his mate.

“Oookay…you wanna tell me what triggered this change of heart, alpha?” AJ asked, looking as confused as everyone else at the table.

“Let’s just say that we have come to a mutually beneficial arrangement,” Ty grunted. “Now, all unmated males and mated males whose mates deem it necessary must attend, by order of their alphas.”

The room filled with groans and snarls. Apparently, that didn’t really go over very well.

“Awww, come on, Ty! I have no issues with talking to women! Ask any one of them in this room. Hell I’ve been with most of them anyway!” AJ threw his hand out to encompass the room.

Apparently he was a man-ho. Now there was a term she never thought she’d use.

Ty said nothing, just narrowed his eyes in AJ’s direction. That pressure was back, but it seemed to be target at one man in particular, the man-ho who was tilting his head to the side and baring his neck to Ty. So AJ would be attending the course, run by her men.

And she was their woman. The one the Fates had decided was meant to belong to them. And no matter what, she knew she wanted to be their mate. She wanted to connect to them and do the whole mind-meldy thing. She wanted to belong to them, to the pack, to Grey River.

She looked at them and felt her heart beat a little faster. Good gravy, they were hot. Hotter than hot. She felt her pussy flood with cream. She saw Cody inhale and felt him shudder. She stared into his eyes and saw them darken. “Pet, you had better tell me that it was Brendan and I that have you creaming your panties and not any other male.”

His voice was low, and she could feel the tension in him rise. Brendan had started snarling so she guessed they had done their mind-meldy thing.

“Oh, baby, it is most definitely you,” Lucy said, lowering her voice. “I want to belong to you and Brendan. I want to be your mate in truth. I want…”

“What, kitten? Tell us what it is that you want.” Brendan’s voice was rough as he leaned toward her.

Lucy smiled at them. It was the easiest question to answer ever. “You, baby. I want you both. Forever. But right now, I would really love to have you in me. Both of you. At the same time. Make me your mate, my loves. And just so we’re clear.” Lucy paused, looking intently at each man to ensure they understood the seriousness of this.

“I have never been more fucking serious in my life.” Blue blazed in both their eyes. She had a split second to enjoy it, before she was hoisted up into Cody’s arms and they practically sprinted out of the bar. Lucy was aware that there was laughter behind them and she was pretty sure that they had knocked a few people over on their way out the door, but she couldn’t really find it in her to care.

  * * * *

“Jefe, I have found her, but you are not going to like what I have found.”

  “Tell me!”

“She is in Grey River and is living with two brothers, EMTs with the local firehouse, one of which I think has claimed her as his woman.”

“Hijo de puta! There is no claim but mine! Stay there and I shall be there soon.”

  Chapter 7

The drive back to the house was a blur for Lucy. A sexual haze of feeling and anticipation and long, open-mouthed kisses that drove her wild and Brendan stripping her clothes from her as Cody drove. She could smell her own arousal in the cab of the truck, growing more intense with every kiss, touch, and groan from their frustrated driver.

“Thank fuck!” Cody shouted as he slammed on the brakes and the truck rocked forward and back. Startling a yelp from Lucy and when her vision cleared she realized they were outside the house. And she was naked. Boy that would have been a heck of a conversation with the local law if they had been pulled over. For her part, she had managed to get Brendan out of his shirt and had his jeans undone as well.

The back door of the truck opened, and Lucy was plucked from Brendan’s lap with a groan of appreciation from Cody as he wrapped her legs around his waist and began striding toward the house. She could hear Brendan muttering about being cock blocked, and she giggled as he stumbled out of the truck in his haste to follow.

“Move your ass, Brendan. I ain’t waiting for you!” Cody bellowed back.

His face was so intense and ravaged with need that Lucy couldn’t resist trying to soothe the wolf inside. She pressed her lips all over his face, from his forehead down his cheek to his neck. When she started to nibble a little on the muscle that lay between his neck and shoulder Cody roared. Apparently it was not a soothing move then.

They made it into their bedroom after bumping off a few walls, with Brendan right on their heels. When she dropped her legs to take her own weight, she noticed that Brendan was now as naked as she was.

“Move your ass, Cody. This works better when you’re naked,” Brendan grumped as he pushed Cody out of his way and pushed her laughing onto the bed.

She knew that Cody was voicing something in the background but it was lost behind the white noise that was created when Brendan put his mouth on her. His tongue swirled around her nipple and he drew strongly on her, causing her pussy to release another gush of hot liquid. The room suddenly perfumed with her arousal. She rolled her hips up, feeling empty and needy.

Cody suddenly dropped onto the mattress between her legs and, with no warning, placed his mouth on her sex and sucked her clit into his mouth.

“Ahhh, Cody!” she screamed as she suddenly hurtled off the precipice of pleasure in a swift and intense orgasm.

“Damn, Lucy, I love the fucking taste of you. Your cunt is sweeter than honey. I could eat your pussy all day. In fact one day I’m going to do just that!”

With that promise ringing in her ears, Cody got busy and ate her out with an enthusiasm that left her shaking and sobbing. Brendan sat up and kissed her, hard, tugging on her nipples adding to the pleasure building inside her.

Suddenly Brendan pulled back, breathing heavily, gaze intent. That beautiful arctic blue flashed in his eyes. “Lucy, what you said in that bar just about fucking killed me.
The fact that you want us as your mates, that you want us forever, makes me so fucking happy. Happy, horny, and hard, to be honest.” He grinned. “I gotta have your mouth on me, honey. I want you to take my cock, get me nice and wet because when you’re ready? I’m taking your ass and making it mine,” Brendan promised against her neck.

“Hey!” Cody lifted his head, which made her moan at the loss. “I’m taking her ass tonight at some point, too, so use the right fucking word, B.”

If Lucy weren’t currently going up in flames and needing to get this show on the road, she would have laughed. Brendan laughed then shocked Lucy by pulling her up and turning her over so she rested on all fours and then moved to kneel in front of her.

“Sure, Cody, I have a feeling our mate is going to love having our dicks in her ass, but for now, why don’t you lie on your back and crawl up under our mate. Show her heaven while she sucks my cock and shows me mine.”

Lucy looked up at Brendan from under her lashes. Although his eyes were intense and the gaze he gave her hotter than hell, the blue shimmer had gone. He was completely in control of his wolf. Lucy vowed in that moment to do everything she could to shatter his control as much as she could!

She felt Cody nudging her knees farther apart, and as she complied by spreading her knees and arching her back a little, she reached out and licked around the head of Brendan’s cock. At her touch, he moaned and grabbed on to her hair, his cock released a drop of pearly fluid that she collected with her tongue and brought into her mouth to savor. “Mmm, Brendan, you taste so good,” she said, her voice dropping into that sexy tone again.
