Nora couldn’t help but be amazed by the man that she’d married. He was so thoughtful and always put others before himself. She squeezed him tighter. “Thank you. This has all been so amazing. Like a whirlwind, I feel swept up.”
JT looked down at her strangely. “And all because I’d fallen in love and knew I had to woo the widow.”
Nora shook her head and laughed. “What?”
JT silenced her with another body-bending kiss. “Nothing, love,” he told her as the children came racing out of the house. Bekka held little Tommy on her hip, and Willie went immediately to work, helping unload the lumber from the wagon, while Joy and Vicky raced around in their brand-new matching dresses. Nora watched them from the safe space of her husband’s arms. It was cold, but bright and sunny. There wasn’t a spot of darkness anywhere to be found.
