“Mmm… kinky…” I laugh when he picks me up and throws me over his shoulder. “Let’s hurry this shit up then.”

Camera flashes go off numerous times from every direction as Madden rushes to meet up with his bandmates. I can’t even count the number of photos I’ve found myself in on social media since that concert where Madden walked off stage to find me. I try my best not to look at them all, but I get curious and find myself saving all the ones of Madden and myself.

The merchandise table is so crowded by the time we get to it that the security team has to separate the fans to give Madden room to walk to his seat. Usually, I stand off somewhere in the back and give them their space, but Madden pulls up the extra chair and sits me down in it. When he moves in to give me a kiss, my anxiety fades and I find myself interacting with the fans just as much as the band is. Some of them even ask for my autograph, which makes no sense to me, but Madden and the boys just laugh and include me as if I’m one of them.

After doing autographs and posing for hundreds of pictures, the band, Jason, and the security team pile up in the tour bus for drinks to celebrate and unwind. From the way Madden keeps eyeing me over and kissing me, I know it won’t be long before he’s dragging me back to our hotel room. Not that I’m complaining…

“Fuck, I love you so much,” Madden whispers into my neck. “You sure you can handle living this lifestyle with me? It’s like this all the time. It never stops.”

I look down at my phone to check the time. It’s already past midnight, just like every other weekend. They live a chaotic life but that’s part of who Madden is. I want that to be part of me too. “Yes.” I grab his face and kiss him. “I love you too much not to.”

“I swear you two never stop to breathe,” Hendrix jokes. “Let me guess… you’re going back to the hotel room soon?”

“You know it, fucker. Don’t be jealous.”

I laugh when Hendrix rolls his eyes and the boys start bickering back and forth. The band has become like a second family since I’ve been on tour with them, and although the boys give Madden shit, I know we have their support one hundred percent.

I’m ready for this new adventure with Madden no matter how crazy it gets. I’m a girl in love, and I only see myself falling more and more with time.

  EPILOGUE

  Madden

  ONE YEAR LATER…

We pull into the driveway of the cabin, and just like last year, all our friends are already out back hanging by the fire. This year, some things are different—we’re not pretending, there are no lies, and Natalie doesn’t belong to my brother. She’s mine for real this time, and there’s nothing I’ve wanted more than to bring her back to the cabin so we could enjoy it as a real couple. I’ve looked forward to it all year.

“You sure you can handle being my girl for the weekend,” I tease, leaning in to kiss her bottom lip. “We’re going to have to be all over each other, kissing and doing lots of other things… Dirty things.”

She smiles playfully and grips the back of my head, pulling me in closer. “I’m not sure I could handle not being your girl. I never want to know that feeling again.”

“Good,” I whisper, my thumb tracing her lip. “Because you’ll never have to.”

“Is that a promise?” Her lips brush mine, and to answer her question, I kiss her, my hands digging into her hair. “I like that answer,” she whispers when our lips part. “A lot.”

“You’ll get that answer every fucking time, babe. I’m never letting you go.” Figuring our friends can wait, I pull Natalie into my lap so that she’s straddling me. Gripping her hips, I squeeze while rocking her above me. “You sure you don’t want me to make love to you right here? It’s been a while since we’ve fucked in my truck.”

She squirms above me and laughs when I reach for the button of her jeans. “Madden,” she warns. “Everyone knows we’re here. They’re going to wonder why we’re taking so long.”

“Then we’ll lie,” I whisper against her ear, before gently biting it. “We’ll tell them we took a walk in the woods to Axe throw.”

She looks as if she’s almost considering it when a knock at the window causes us both to jump.

“Fucking, Jake.” When I look over, he’s grinning and making thrusting motions while biting his bottom lip. “Sometimes I wish I wasn’t friends with that fucker.”

Natalie laughs and crawls out of my lap, quickly reaching for the door handle when Jess comes running up to greet her.

“Oh my god, girl!” Jess screeches. “Tell me everything that’s happened since last year. Don’t leave anything out.”

The girls take off toward the cabin and Jake and I stay back while I light up a cigarette. “You two look good together,” Jake points out. “You look happy. Really happy. It’s been a while since I’ve seen your old self.”

“I am.” I take a long drag and slowly exhale the smoke into the air. “I’m happier than I’ve ever been, Jake. It might’ve taken stealing a girl that didn’t belong to me, but I wouldn’t change anything about the way things went down to get to where we are.”

“Good. That means you have no regrets.” Jake smiles and hits my arm. “I guess you heard that Alana started dating a new guy and decided to skip this year?”

“That’s what Jess told Natalie last week. I’m happy for her. I hope things work out better for them than they did for us.”

“She seems happy. I guess only time will tell.” Jake nods toward the cabin. “Seth and Riley are out back and Logan will be here soon. Walker’s dumbass forgot to request off work, so he won’t be here until Saturday night.”

I take one last drag off my smoke before tossing it and following Jake around the cabin. The girls are sitting across from each other talking and the guys are playing a drinking game.

“Landon and Hendrix will be here tomorrow night; possibly even my cousin Chance and his wife Aubrey, depending on if Adele can take the kids.”

“Sweet. Sounds like we have a fun six days ahead of us. Hell yeah.”

Coming up behind Natalie, I wrap my arms around her neck and kiss the side of her face. “Want a drink?”

She nods and turns her head back far enough to press her lips against mine. “Can you make me Jess’s specialty drink?” she asks hopeful.

“Shit. I think I remember what’s in it.”

Jess laughs. “Why don’t you make us both one then and I’ll be the judge.”

I’m up for the challenge, so I head into the cabin and begin mixing together random shit that I somewhat remember Jess throwing into her specialty drink. I’m in the middle of sticking straws into the cups when my brother walks in.

Although we’ve talked since everything went down last year, we haven’t seen each other face to face. Not gonna lie, I’m a bit tense right now, not knowing what to expect. Whether he likes it or not, Natalie and I aren’t going to hold back on our relationship just because he’s here.

“Hey, little brother.” Logan grips the counter and nods at the drinks in front of me. “Wanna make me one of those?”

I laugh and grab an empty cup. “It’s probably going to be sweet as shit.”

He smiles. “That’s okay, because it’s for my girlfriend.”

I pause making the drink to look up at him. “Since when the fuck do you have a girlfriend? You didn’t mention dating anyone to me last time we spoke.”

He crosses his arms over his chest, his smile widening. “I wasn’t sure things were serious between us until a couple of weeks ago. Wanted to take things slow and see where things went.”

“Right on.” I smile, happy for him. “I’m glad you brought her for us to meet then, brother.” I hand him a drink and slap his shoulder. “Let’s join the ladies outside then.”

When we walk out back, I stop dead in my tracks when I spot Carla sitting with the girls.

“It’s not Carla,” he says on a laugh. “She hitched a ride with us once she realized we were going. Her name is Danika and she’s friends with Carla
. I met her at the bar when I was spilling my guts to Carla one night.”

It takes a second before I notice a platinum blonde sitting on the other side of Carla. I’ve seen her a few times over the years, and she seemed nice the times I’ve talked to her. I just wouldn’t have remembered what her name was had he not told me. “Leave it to Carla to fix everyone’s problems,” I say amused. “And thanks for bringing Carla along. The girls will have a lot of fun this year.”

“They deserve it,” Logan says from beside me. “After putting up with my shit all three girls deserve some fun.”

I laugh and head toward the girls, handing Jess and Natalie their drinks before giving Carla and Danika hugs to greet them.

A few hours later, everyone is lying around the fire, telling stories and enjoying each other’s company, but unlike last year, there’s no tension. Everything feels fucking perfect. Jake and Jess are happy. Logan seems really into his new girl, and Carla is getting along well with the boys. She doesn’t seem to mind their constant flirting, but I doubt either of them will get anywhere with her. Then again, who knows? Maybe one of them has a chance.

“Wanna go for a walk?” I stand up and grab Natalie’s hand, pulling her to her feet. “There’s a special spot I want to take you?”

Natalie smiles up at me when I yank her into my arms. “Is that right? Does it happen to be in the woods with two spotlights?”

“Maybe,” I say against her lips. “Wanna find out?”

“You know I do.” She stands on her tiptoes to kiss me, before pulling me toward the woods. “We’ll be back, guys!”

The moment we’re alone and out of sight, I back Natalie against a tree and kiss her long and hard, wanting to take her right here in the woods. I don’t give a shit who hears us. I’m proud to take my girl anywhere she’ll let me.

“Madden…” Natalie bites my bottom lip, causing me to jump back. “Are you ever not horny?”

“Is that a serious question?” I joke, pressing my erection into her. “Because here’s your answer.”

“How about this? If you can hit the bullseye three times in a row without looking, I’ll let you take me out here in the woods. Anywhere you choose.”

“Fuck me!” I bite my bottom lip and growl out in satisfaction. “Challenge accepted.”

I don’t think I’ve ever walked these woods so fast in all the years I’ve been coming here, but within minutes we’re at my secret spot. Our secret spot.

I get ready to turn on the lights, but Natalie stops me and slips my new leather jacket off. “I just wanted to get you alone,” she whispers. “Don’t plan on joining the others for a while, rock star. You’re mine until I’m done with you.”

  “Fuck, I love you.”

She laughs against my lips and whispers, “Love you too babe,” before I lift her into my arms and press her back against the plywood.

Fucking shit, I love this woman more than life. I never thought I’d feel happiness again after what I went through with Alana, but here I am, the happiest I’ve ever felt before. I have Natalie to thank for that. And for that reason, I’ll spend every day making sure she’s the happiest she’s ever been too. I might’ve borrowed her to begin with, but I knew after that first night that she was meant to be mine all along.
