“Calm down,” The cop bit off. Then went through the spiel, “Your under arrest for… bla bla bla,” is all he really heard as he was pushed to the cop car and shoved in the back. He looked around, he searched, but didn’t find what he was looking for; Trey.

There was cops everywhere, at least ten cop cars so he knew someone must have tipped them off. It wasn’t just some routine drive by and they spotted a fight, it was a clean bust. He was shaking, he knew what it all meant. Trey would be doing some serious time if they found out about her and the girls. One thing eased his mind a bit, but he felt bad thinking it. She wouldn’t be going home with the guy she was scheduled to fight. He shook his head in disgust as he thought it than dropped his forehead to the seat in front of him and took in a well needed breath.

They arrived at the station and he was lead into a small room to be questioned. They searched him only finding his wallet on him than un-cuffed him. The officer took out his Id from his wallet and addressed him. “Ayden James.” He smiled for a minute thinking about how it was his name now, he changed it for Trey, but never told her he did so. ‘I’ll have to, maybe that will make a difference,’ he thought before he got interrupted. “I asked you a question, son. Answer it. Who organizes the fights?” It was a question that had him shaking slightly, but he corrected it quick, he could let any nervousness slip.

“What are you talking about? That guy hit me out of nowhere, he thought I was with his girl the other night, so I defended myself.”

“Don’t be smart with me, son. We know that they are organized fights and if you don’t tell me who organizes them, I’m not going to take it easy on you.”

“I don’t care if you don’t take it easy on me or not. I know what happened, you don’t. The truth will come out. I was defending myself. So if you’re done, I’d like to have my call so I can get in touch with a lawyer.”

“Lawyering up already. Only the guilty does that.”

“I know the deal with you guys and I don’t feel like playing your stupid games. So just get me a phone. I said all that happened and that’s the end of my talking.” The officer shook his head and walked out. Ayden knew that he was going to do a back ground check and he also knew that it wasn’t the first assault charge he had. It wasn’t good and he knew it, he’s had to many and only hope the other guy did too. He really needed to get out of this or it just might be jail time for him. Repeat offenders never got off with the same charge.

He just wanted a phone so he could get bailed out and go check on Trey. Yea, they asked who was the one in charge, but that didn’t mean they didn’t have her. He was practically crawling out of his own skin with worry and he didn’t like that feeling one bit. He didn’t want to worry about her, he didn’t want to love her anymore. She threw him away, she was done with him and he just wanted to be done with his heart break.

An hour went by with him pacing and pissed off at the thought of it all. He lost Trey, his job was at stake, his grades were slipping and so was his strength. On top of that he just got busted for fighting, again. His future was officially uncertain. Instead of being the guy he wanted to be, he might just end up being the guy everyone thought he was going to be. Jail time meant; no way to make money, no way to finish college, no way to be successful and no way to not wind up being a dirt bag. He dropped his head to the table, slamming it down good and in utter defeat.

He let his heart get in the way of what he really wanted to be and now his success was a mess and his future was at stake.

The cop walked back in. “I see you finally gave up, so tell me; who organizes the fights?” He didn’t bother to look up or answer. What the guy said at least gave him one thing; they still haven’t caught onto Trey, but it didn’t mean that she wasn’t there in the station somewhere or that one of the people that got busted wouldn’t throw her name in. He would beat anyone that did. That thought got to him. He didn’t want it, he didn’t want to feel this way with her. “I asked you a question, boy. Answer it.”

“My phone call,” was all he bothered to say. He knew he didn’t have to answer anything without a lawyer present and they couldn’t do nothing about it.

“You might want to rethink that, son. The guy you were fighting has already agreed to give us a statement as to who organizes the fights and if you don’t cooperate, you will be charged with assault in the first degree not the third like you have been in the past. And you know what that means. Jail time. Do you really want to serve time for protecting the guy that organizes the fights? Just tell us who he is and we will only give you assault in the third degree. You won’t do jail time. Be smart and just cooperate, son. It’s for the best, you can finish college and make something of yourself instead of being a felon.”

Ayden didn’t even bother to comment. He smirked about the fact that they thought it was a guy that organized the fights. It told him two things; one, Trey was amazing and two, the other guy wasn’t signing shit. If he was signing a statement against Trey then the cop would know that it was no guy that organized it, it was an amazing women. The thought broke his heart a little more. He wanted Trey to be his, but at the moment he realized she never would be. He would have to give up on her and the fantasy that would come with her loving him back. ‘Maybe I should cooperate than I would at least have my success. She was never in my plan anyway,’ he thought with the realization that just hit him.

“Shit, fuck,” Trey cursed. Gwen grabbed her hand.

“Trey, come on we gotta go.”

  “No, it’s my fault. Go.”

  “Trey.”

“Damn it, Gwen. Go.” She pushed her a little to get her to move. Trey knew what she was doing. She had to find out what the cops knew. She had to show the ones that got busted her face so they wouldn’t rat her out. She instilled fear in these people and they needed the reminder of what she was capable of. She had to be smart, play this smart or all of it would go to hell. She stood there acting like she was shocked and some dumb blond until an officer came over and cuffed her. She let everyone around see what she was doing. That she would not bail and hide; that she would not be scared and that they should be. She let the confidence radiate from her while looking everyone she could in the eyes so that they would see it as the cop walked her to the back of the car and shoved her in. The ones that she did catch their eyes understood not to talk because if they did there would be a price to pay. She let that confidence roll off of her in sonic waves reminding them as the officer led her through the precinct. There was a good dozen or so in the same room with her, but no Ayden and no Brett, the other guy that was in the fight. One by one they took them into questioning and she made sure that she looked into the eyes of every one of them to get the point across not to talk. She made herself as close to the last up as she could without looking obvious. Another reason she had to let them bring her in; she would remember every one of the people that got busted and she would be able to figure out who was the one that ratted her out if one did.

She waited for her turn pissed off, knowing this was completely her fault. She was supposed to set up the security that searched for the cops tonight and she let it slip her mind because she was so messed up. No one was there to watch for them and it was completely her fault. Her mess up. Her fuck up. Stuck with that and thinking on how she would get as much information from the cops as she could had her brain on overdrive.

She had to know what they knew. There was too many cops that surrounded the place for them not to have had some kind of tip; some stupid snitch. Someone said something. It pissed her off more, but she was determined to find out, she had no other choice. Whoever it was could be putting her in the slammer for a good long while. It was almost her turn and she knew she had to prepare to go into the worst mode of all; acting ditsy sweet mode. ‘Yuk,’ she thought. She liked fight mode, entertaining mode, but this, she was just at her wits end with it.

She was up, but she didn’t walk out with the cop until she made sure she looked everyone left in the room in the ey
es. She knew they all understood and it made her take the well needed breath to slip into the annoying mode. “Name?” The short cubby cop asked. She wanted to laugh, this guy would defiantly fall for her act.

“Treasack Sirona,” She said in a sexy drawl. She wished she had a piece of gum, she giggled to herself knowing that would make this even more entertaining. Maybe she could have fun with this.

The cop raised his brows not at all impressed. “Ma’am, this is not a game. It is a serious charge attending an illegal fight.”

She threw on her best confused face as she gasped, “Sir, what do you mean?”

“I mean for you to tell me your real name.”

“But it is my real name, it’s a very sexy name, don’t you think?”

“Ma’am please, this is a serious matter.”

“Sorry Sir, I’m just being my bubbly self. Check my wallet for my Id. It’s in the zipper pocket of my jacket. So what is this serious matter anyway? I was just at a party. I’m a college girl and I sure do like my parties.” She knew she was putting it on pretty thick, but she was truly getting a kick out of it. Her sexy drawl with ‘girl’ and ‘my parties,’ was a bit stretching it, but she was in need of pushing it, her life has been a mess and she really felt like screwing with this cop. Whoever said the truth couldn’t be told within some hidden way, secretly laughing to one’s self.

“Ma’am…” He went to speak, but she cut him off.

“Please, Ma’am? I’m young and vibrant and not ready to be called such an old time word, just call me by my name, we can be personal about this, no need for the formality.” She wasn’t about to give her name that everyone called her though. That, she would just keep secret for now just in case. No one around, but Ayden knew what it was. ‘Damn,’ she thought with that thought. He’s here somewhere with the worst charge of all. He truly had the power to make her fall. She cursed herself for that one. The officer pulled out her Id and quirked a brow at her, he really didn’t believe her name and she chuckled. “See, it’s a sexy name, so what is yours?”

“Miss Sirona, like I was saying, this is a very serious matter. We know that the place you were at was no party at all. That it was an illegal organized fight ring.” Trey threw her hand over her mouth and gave a fake gasp as she bugged her eyes out in fake surprise.

“Nooo?” She breathed threw her hand.

“Yes, now if you could tell me who it was that brought you there so that we can track down this guy that is organizing these fights. We need to shut this down before someone gets injured.” She was going to avoid that question and with a giggle, they think a guy organizes the fights, how typical. ‘Guess they don’t know shit,’ she thought.

“Oh, my. I did not realize that it was any kind of organized fight. There was no indication of that at all. The fight that was going on at the time that you wonderful men came in to stop was over some girl. I was sure of it.”

“No, Miss. It was organized.” She needed to change this guy's mind and find out more.

“Huh, I don’t understand how it could have been. It did not look so at all. To me it just looked like two college boys drunk and fighting over a girl. They do that stuff so often.”

“Yes, well this was not.” She needed to work harder.

“It was anything, but that, honestly sir, that is what I saw. I was standing right there. It was very obvious that they were fighting over a girl. How do you know for sure?

“Ah, maybe. We are not positive. We got an anonymous tip a few weeks back that there have been organized fights going on. We have been checking into it, but every time we bust a place, it’s just some party going on. There’s never a fight going on except for tonight. You don’t happen to know if there is anything like that going on do you?” There it is; his confession and doubt. Now she just needed to reassure him of it.

“I’ve heard nothing of the sort and I’ve been in this town almost two years attending the college and I have a well-respected GPA, you can check it out, even though I’m at almost all parties and I’m in with every frat there is. If there was something like that I would know of it. I’m positive.”

“Huh, well maybe it’s time we let this tip go, we’ve wasted enough on it. Considering we can’t prove it was an organized fight you are free to go, no charges, but if you think of anything, please do give the station a call.”

“Will do. Thank you.” Trey walked out with a smile on her face, but she knew that it wasn’t over, that being happy about this incident would not be good yet. She still wasn’t completely out of the woods; she hasn’t seen the guys that fought and they haven’t seen her. She didn’t think Ayden would talk, he didn’t seem devious, but then again he did want to see her fall so he could take over the fights, or at least she thought at one point. She also wasn’t so sure about the other guy he had a lot to lose. He was on a football scholarship and couldn’t get in trouble or he would lose it. That thought made her a bit more of a mess.

She sat outside the precinct on the steps while she text Pay for a ride. She had to have Pay because she would know the gossip and right now she needed to figure that out and set up some major damnage control. She shot the other girls a text to meet her back at her shop so they all could discuss what to do next. After the texts went out she rested her elbows on her knees and dropped her head into her hands feeling completely guilty. If she only had someone else to blame; she knew she didn’t. It wasn’t her father’s fault she forgot to set up security and it wasn’t Ayden’s. She knew it was only hers and hers alone.

She let the mess of her life get to her, she let the issue with her heart get in the way. Now her success was a complete mess.

“Hey, you good?” She knew the voice, she just didn’t want to hear that voice. She also didn’t want to look at him, but she had to make sure it was him and that he was far enough away to not bring attention to them. She also had to know what went on with him in there, it was a must. She glanced over his way and saw that in deed he was at a distance, at least she wouldn’t have to tell him to move.

“Good.” She huffed out a ‘ha’ and dropped her head back to her hands while she spoke, “Is Dane on his way to get you?”

  “Yea. You got a ride?”

“Yea. Can you stop at the shop and fill us in?”

“Yea, sure.” She heard Ayden’s disappointment with that and it just pissed her off more, but now was not the time to piss him off more.

  “Thanks.”

  “It’s not for you, Trey.”

  “I know but still, thanks.”

They both shook their heads. They knew this situation was gonna suck, but they also knew it needed to be done. It wasn’t just them at stake it’s everybody that’s been involved. They would have to get over it at least for the time being for everyone else’s sake. Dane pulled up and rolled down his window to speak with Trey, she gave him a look to tread carefully and he got it. “Hey, lady. You need a ride?”

“No, but thank you.” He only nodded once then Ayden got in and off they went, leaving Trey to her thoughts, alone once again. She was glad of the quickness Dane got him because she wasn’t sure she could stand another second alone with Ayden. A few minutes later Pay pulled in and Trey jumped in. “Damn girl. That was one hell of a stunt you pulled tonight. A damn good stunt I might add. People are talking more about that then the cops. You showed some confident loyalty. The best part, people really know you care. You earned yourself some serious points. If your fighters go down, you’re willing to go with them and stand tall while you do so.”

“I was just there to get info and make sure no one talked.”

“Come on Trey, I’ve known you too long to actually believe that was the only reason, that it don’t go deeper. You did it to protect the fights and more importantly, the people involved. You didn’t do it to save your own ass, you proved that by letting yourself get arrested. That, my friend, proves you did it to protect the people involved. Proves that you care what happens to everyone and to the fights. I seriously d
idn’t even have to spin nothing. People talked with a higher respect of you. It was kick ass. There were a few that thought you did it for the wrong reasons, like just to scare the others because you didn’t want to get busted, but your people spoke out and put the truth into perspective quick. It’s obviously not it, she let herself get busted. That’s what’s been said.”

“Well I guess that’s great, no major damnage control, just some. I haven’t found out about the fighters yet. Ayden’s gonna meet us at the shop, we have to get a hold of the other guy and see what’s going on with him. I want to pay the lawyers, fines and that. It was my freaking fault the shit got busted. I forgot to put the word out for security.”

“Yea, I heard, but no one will know it was your mistake, us girls took care of it. I’ve actually took the blame already.”

“Why would you do that?” Trey said raising her voice, pissed.

“Because Trey. One, you’ve done a hell of a lot for me, gave me a life I never could imagine, confidence I never would have had, amongst a lot more that I won’t bother to name off because it’s one hell of a long list and two, because you would have done it for any of us, but three, because it needed to be done. You’re our leader and if people stop believing in you we are going to have one hell of a battle on our hands and there will be a lot of people getting in serious trouble and loosing there future because of it.”

“Your right, we should stop the fights from here on out. Be done with it.”
