He sat on the toilet and held her as he turned the bath water on with his free hand. He placed a concoction of bath salts in the water that were not only pleasing to the senses, but would begin the healing process for the cuts he had made, and waited for the tub to fill.

His voice cut through the air as she listened in a state of euphoria. “I had to do things this way, my love. You would have never had anything to do with a man like me because I’m out of your social circle. I couldn’t very well stand by and do nothing as you dated trust fund babies. After tonight, my love, you’ll never be satisfied with vanilla sex. You’ll crave the danger. You’ll crave me.”

She knew instinctively that what he said was true. She would never be the same after he’d opened this dark vortex in her soul. She didn’t understand what he was doing to her. All she knew was that she wanted more.

  Chapter Twelve

Grace had waited until she got back home to do any research on the jailbreak. She couldn’t shake the feeling that her partner at the firm was keeping too close of an eye on her and it was making her nervous. She didn’t think Luke would cause her any harm, but she still didn’t relish the idea of people knowing how close she had gotten to her client, Talon. She dismissed the premonitions she had of Talon showing up at her door until the bell rang. How did she know that was going to happen? She made her way to answer it, already knowing who was there.

“What the fuck are you doing, lawyer lady?”

She turned and walked away from the door, ignoring his outburst. He tossed his helmet onto the couch and pushed her into the wall. “I asked you a fucking question.”

“We’ve already been over this issue of you trapping me against walls.”

He fisted a handful of her hair and pulled her into the bedroom before tossing her on the bed. Scooting up against the headboard did nothing to shield her from the man who now eyed her with a look that bordered on dangerous. She watched as he slowly pulled his belt from the loops of his fitted jeans. “You wouldn’t.”

  “The fuck I wouldn’t. I asked you a question.”

It wasn’t the fact that he now held the belt in his hand in a threatening manner that scared her. It was more the fact that his hardened cock was showing, pressed up against his tight fitting jeans. It was clear to her that he was getting off on her fear of him.

In a matter of seconds, he had her arms bound above her head with the belt and he had pulled her to the end of the bed by her ankles, wiggling her right out of the jogging pants she had on. He pulled one of her ankles over his shoulder as he looked down on her as if he were daring her to stop him. She had no intentions of doing any such thing.

He pulled his cock free and slathered her juices all over the piercing in the head of it. He taunted her by pushing just the head in, pulling out and slathering through her slit, then back in again until she was begging him to invade her opening.

“I ought to spank that ass of yours for not telling me you came home. Don’t fuck with me, girl. I’m watching every move you make. You want that cock don’t you, baby?” He grabbed her hips and pulled her into him with one of her legs still secured over his shoulder. “Fuck girl, you are so tight.” He pumped in and out of her soaked opening as one finger ran circles over her clit. “Play with those titties, baby. Ah, that’s it. You’re such a nasty, little, dirty girl. I just love knowing how prim and proper you are in public… yet, you’re so nasty and dirty for me in the bedroom. Don’t you dare take your fucking eyes off of me when you come.”

He watched her, intrigued with the way she tossed her head back and her mouth flew open when she screamed out his name. The pulsing of her hot, wet, little pussy clamping down on his swollen member was all it took to send him over the edge. His whole body shuddered and he had to take a moment to regain his wits. Damn, this girl was something else and he no intentions of letting her go.

  Chapter Thirteen

Though the convict couldn’t be happier about the fact that he had managed to escape, the adrenalin rush that had been sustaining him was now crashing and reality was quickly setting in. He needed clothing, money, and transportation. He would do what he always did and prey on the weak.

He made his way to a parking garage and hid between the cars to await a victim, preferably a woman or a senior citizen. In a matter of moments, a woman made her way through the garage. Due to her being distracted on her phone, the convict spotted two of the three things he needed. He quickly made his way up behind her and clamped down on the artery in her neck. There would be no permanent damage—just enough to render her unconscious. After smashing her phone into the concrete, he grabbed her purse and keys and then made his way to her car to make his escape. He had no doubt that phone had GPS and he certainly had no intention of giving Justine warning that he was coming for her. His obsession with her was about to become her new reality.

“If you’re going to hang around, big guy, you’re going to have to do something for me other than just fucking my brains out.”

“What’s up?” Talon exited the bathroom with just a towel around his waist.

“You’re the cleanest person I know.”

“What… you thought I was just some dirty biker guy who showed up on your doorstep?”

“No, I thought you were just some dirty biker guy I got out of jail.”

She laughed and scooted away as he towel dried his long hair. She stopped and looked at him again as she spoke but this time in a serious tone. “Go get me a brush and come here.”

“You women are all the same, always wanting to play with my hair.”

“If you don’t want to hear about my square boyfriends, then you shouldn’t be bringing up your stupid ex-girlfriends.”

He chuckled and made his way back to the bathroom to retrieve a brush for her. “I like seeing you get jealous. Seriously, I already told you that we bikers don’t have girlfriends. It’s club sluts, sweet butts, or old ladies, babe.”

“Sounds like a rap song,” she said as she fingered his hair and brushed at the long strands. It fell all the way down to his ass and was so black that it looked like the color of a raven’s wing. “You’re beautiful, Talon. Why do they call you Talon?”

“Because once I get my talons in, I never release my prey.”

“Is that the reason behind the eagle tattooed between two skulls on your chest?”

“Yep… the African crowned eagle. They’re aggressive and their talons are so deadly, they can crush the skulls of their favorite food—monkeys. I thought it appropriate for my temperament. Don’t ever fuck me over, girl.”

“I’m scared to,” she replied simply, as it was a given.

“You should be afraid, very fucking afraid.”

“I am, Talon. I am. I have something I need to tell you. Go put your sweats on and come back.”

She got up to boot up her laptop, brought it back to the bed, and settled in, leaning against the headboard. Talon made his way back in wearing sweats that hung on his hips and revealed the V in his lower abdomen. Grace had to push away thoughts of him pinning her down. Why did he have to look so damn good? His hair was still hanging loose and he looked so wild and free.

“I don’t want you freaking out when I tell you this but I think you need to know what’s going on.”

He turned to look at her with threatening black eyes and she spoke before he had the chance to assume the worst. The man was beyond jealous when it came to her and she had no intentions of seeing him fly off in a rage.

“It’s nothing like that, Talon. Before I took on your case, there was a convict who wrote to me wanting me to take his.”

“Name?” was all Talon growled in her direction.

  “John Barnes.”

“I know exactly who he is. Got convicted for killing a woman and slicing her up into pieces. There were other women but they could never prove it. The guy is a full-blown serial killer.”

“Well, he is on the run.”

“Did he escape when that riot broke out the ot
her night?”

“Yes, he did and he hasn’t been seen since.”

“You’re not safe here. Pack a bag. We’re going to the compound.”

This time she didn’t argue. She just got up and started packing.

  Chapter Fourteen

Justine sat at her desk looking over the file of a man who took pleasure in killing and now he was free to do so at will. There was no doubt that there would be more deaths if they didn’t catch him.

“He’ll come for you. It’s why he broke out. You did this. You’re the one responsible. I should punish you for being so stupid.”

Derrick’s words cut her to the core, somewhere deep inside her being. She squirmed against the back of the office chair. His hands held her by the shoulders from behind forcefully enough to let her know he was very displeased.

“In fact, I think I will punish you.”

Moisture pooled between her legs as memories of the night before came to the forefront of her mind. Her body had reacted in ways she had never before experienced. His blackmail of her, the threats, and the beating, even the cutting, it all served to light a fire in her core that she never knew existed.

Her head jerked back with no warning as he pulled her hair and fisted it, forcing her ear back to his mouth so he could threaten her without risking being overheard. “I’m going to tie you between my bedposts tonight. Then I’m going to use my belt to punish you for what you’ve done and there is nothing you can do to stop me. You have put us in a dangerous situation where we are at the mercy of a killer. He is drawn to you and he’s coming for you. You never should have opened up to him. You’re a very bad girl and you need to be punished.”

A hard and sudden jerk of her hair at the nape of her neck caused her to yelp under her breath. She looked around hoping to confirm that none of the other officers were watching.

  “I’m sorry, Derrick.”

“No, you have to be punished. Tell me, Justine. Tell me how desperately you need me to punish you.”

She whispered the words he longed to hear her say as moisture continued to pool between her thighs. “I need what you give me. I need to be disciplined.”

“Even if the motherfucker is stupid enough to come after her, he can’t get to her here at the compound,” Tiny spoke as he eyed Grace.

“He better not come up in here after lawyer lady or he’ll get his ass blown off.” Grace eyed Raven, clearly shocked that she had stuck up for her.

“Do you think he would?” Grace eyed Talon for reassurance. “Come after me, I mean?”

“I’ll kill him if he gets anywhere near you.” The cold, black intensity she saw in his eyes let her know that he meant business.

“You are only allowed to go to work, girl. I’ll drive you and I’ll pick you up. As much as I hate riding in a cage, I’m not willing to take any chances.”

  “A cage? Grace questioned.

“It’s what we call a car. I like the open road and the free feeling I get being on my bike, not closed up in a fucking cage. Soon, very soon, I’ll be getting you on the back of my bike.”

“Yep, live free and ride free,” Tiny agreed, raising his cup and saluting it in Talon’s direction.

“Come on, girl.” Talon grabbed Grace’s hand and led her away to around the side of the compound, grabbing two longnecks from a barrel of ice as they went.

  “Where are you taking me?”

  “Stargazing.”

He led her to the outside stairs that went up to the roof and they found a spot in the corner. The clear, cool night gave way to a view that those in the city would die for. Talon pulled Grace back between his legs and set her back against his large chest. They took a moment and reveled in the silence of a night that held only the far away voices of bikers partying and crickets chirping. It was easy for her to see why Talon had chosen this life of freedom even though it went against society’s grain.

A woman’s laughter cut through the air and a couple joined them on the roof, unaware of their presence. Grace watched with curiosity as the woman’s beer induced giggles got louder as the man tossed her down on all fours after peeling her out of the jeans she was wearing.

She could feel her breathing becoming heavy as she watched him mount her from behind, slapping her ass as he pushed his hardened cock into her.

Talon’s hand slid her hair back and he began whispering vile obscenities into her ear as his fingers made their way up the flimsy gauze skirt she was wearing.

“Your pussy is soaked, you little voyeur.”

  “We shouldn’t be watching them.”

“I told ya, babe… We fight, fuck, eat, shit, and live together—side by side.”

Her breath caught in her chest, as one finger became two and his thumb circled over her nub of nerves. “Gonna make you ride my cock after you come, baby girl. That sweet, little pussy of yours is mine to take whenever I want it. That’s it, baby, pump those hips while I finger fuck you and come for me. I need to fuck you, girl.” She bit into her lip to keep from crying out as her body gave into the pleasure he provided.

Without being told, she stepped out of her panties, pulled his hard cock from his pants, and sat down on him, easing down slowly to allow her body to accommodate his size. “Quit fucking around and ride that cock, girl. Oh hell yeah, that’s it.” He grabbed her hips pumping fiercely up into her. “Show me your titties, baby.” His lips locked down on a nipple as his finger found its way down to the heated mound between her legs. She pressed her face into his chest and cried out as an orgasm racked her body at the time he found his release.

Her body swooned into his chest as he leisurely petted her hair and eyed the stars. They had given in to the freedom of the night and the freedom that comes with being part of the Dauntless MC club.

  Chapter Fifteen

The convict was finding out very quickly that being free wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. As fate would have it though, the warehouse he had rented when he went into jail, awaiting his sentencing, was still empty.

He knew the press had carried the story about the atrocious things that had been done in that warehouse. He also knew, many times, property where murders had been committed wouldn’t sell. Hell, half the time you couldn’t give them away.

He made his way through cabinets and cubbyholes to get everything prepared for later and what he would be inflicting on his next victim. He was hungry for blood and he couldn’t wait until he got his hands on the hot, little, ICE agent.

His newfound freedom from jail, mixed with the yearning he had for Justine, had his emotions all over the place and was making him crave a kill. Much like a junkie in need of their drug of choice, he felt the symptoms of withdrawal setting in.

There was always a surefire way to find a victim when a man was hungry for blood and that was going to the strip. A prostitute would always get in a car and for the right amount of money, they would go to any location the john wanted.

He made his way over to a corner where a broken slab of concrete revealed an area of dirt floor. He dug, much like a dog digging for a bone, dirt flying up around him as he anxiously anticipated what he would find in the metal box he had hidden—the money and drugs he had placed there for a day just like today.

His fingers hit the precious metal that would bring him the drug he needed to hold him over until he could attain the blood he craved. He slowly brushed the dirt from the top and opened the lid to reveal the large roll of bills and a baggie stuffed full of OxyContin. Though some junkies preferred to crush the pills and shoot them, he just popped three in his mouth knowing the ride would begin soon enough.

The journey of finding prey and subjecting her to all of his sick and depraved desires would be as much fun as the high from the pills, probably more so. He slumped back down onto the floor as he let his mind wander. What made a serial killer? Was it nature or nurture? God knows he had grown up under the worst of circumstances. His dad had been a worthless drunk who used him as a punching bag to release his frustrations.

Over time, he had become angry, so fucking angry. It had happened one day after an especially brutal beating—the unleashing of the monster that dwelt within him. He had seen the neighbor’s cat from where he was hiding under the porch. It hadn’t taken much to coax the animal over. He just clicked his tongue and the creature was rubbing up against his leg. He reached over, grabbed him, circling his hands around the unsuspecting animal’s neck, and began to squeeze. Watching that cat’s eyes grow big and his claws extract had soothed the monster within him.

That was the day he learned that he didn’t need to carry the anger within him. He could make someone else pay instead. It was the day he went from becoming a helpless little boy to an in control young man. He felt no remorse, only relief. No longer was he going to be anyone’s victim. He finally had the one thing that he had never been able to attain but had always coveted—control.

  Chapter Sixteen

Grace sat at her desk looking over Talon’s case file. The closer they became, the more she pondered how smart falling in love with a biker was. The odd thing about it was that she could never remember being in love… until now.

It was odd how it was a man that society deemed a violent criminal that turned out to be the one she felt she could trust. Talon offered her more safety and security than she had ever experienced. She had been robbed of a family due to her father’s choice to walk out on her and her mother and start over as if they had never existed. If she were to be completely honest with herself, she’d admit it wasn’t just Talon who was drawing her in, it was the whole club.
