Her hot mouth returned to his cock, took him throat deep again and the strong suction as she bobbed up and down now with vigorous intent was too much to ignore. His orgasm shot up from his sac and spewed into her mouth, his hand tight on her hair as she swallowed his come like a pro. Dec took a deep breath when his head cleared, relaxing his hand and rubbing her scalp as she lapped at his softening erection. He would have to handle this with kid gloves if he didn't want to offend Eve's friend. He knew Nate still struggled with getting Eve on board in taking their relationship to the next level, and a wrong word or move from him that alienated Eve's good friend wouldn't help his cause.

"I don't know what brought this on, sweetheart, but thank you," Dec said as Holly rose from his lap, a cheshire grin playing on her lips.

"Just thanking you for the beer and the company and letting you know there's more, if you're interested," Holly replied, confident he would be interested in more. Lifting his pen from his front pocket, she picked up his hand and wrote her number on the back of it. "I'm looking forward to hearing from you again."

Dec kept quiet as she let herself out and got into her car. Adjusting his clothes, he waited until she pulled away with a wave before breathing a sigh of relief. He wasn't sure, but he sensed he had just dodged a bullet.

  Chapter Fourteen

Holly sat on Eve's bed fuming in silence as she watched her pack for her trip to Belize with Nate and his friends. This was not how it was supposed to be. Nate's friend, Dec, should've been eager to call her the very next day after she blew him, eager to pick up where they left off. She knew all too well how to play the game, how to manipulate a man with sex to get what she wanted. She hadn't eaten at the most expensive restaurants in Europe and come home with a whole new wardrobe on her salary. Only he hadn't called and all her attempts this past week to get Eve to tell her anything about him that would enable her to hunt him up on her own had been to no avail. She was as in the dark about Nate's friends as she was about Nate. As the days passed without her hooking up with Dec again, she saw her chance to get invited on this trip dwindle from what she thought was a sure thing to impossible now.

There was no talking to Eve, no getting through to her. She couldn't see how Nate was using her, amusing himself with the oddity of fucking a blind woman. It had always been up to Holly to take care of Eve, to steer her away from those who would come to hurt her, who were a threat to the special bond they shared. Holly let herself grow complacent the last few years, so sure between Eve's handicap and the betrayals she suffered in college she wouldn't be drawn under another's spell like she had been with Bobby. It was Bobby who had encouraged her to apply to Julliard, hundreds of miles from where Holly and Eve had planned to attend college together. Bobby who monopolized Eve's time and filled her head with nonsense like love, made her think they had a future together when everyone knew love and forever were only for fools and those gullible enough to hope for a fairy tale life. Eve had never seen Bobby for his true self, never noticed how he used her and filled her head with nonsense to get into her pants. Holly always thought his death in that accident was a good thing because with him gone, Eve would never know the hurt of his eventual defection.

Ever since Eve stood up for her on the school playground when they were nine, Holly had been there for her and she wouldn't stop now. She hoped Eve wasn't too traumatized when Nate was no longer in the picture, but she should know by now all good things must come to an end.

"I wish I were going with you," Holly said wistfully, trying one last time to get a last minute invite. "Watching you pack shorts and sunscreen makes me long for warmer weather. You know how I hate the cold."

Eve smiled at Holly, but it took effort. She had been testy this past week and Eve was looking forward to the next four days away from her. She knew Holly felt left out and hoped going out for pizza with Nate's friends last week without her was a sign Holly was willing to spend some of her spare time with other people. But instead, she'd spent the past week trying to get personal information about Dec that Eve didn't have and complained because Eve was leaving so soon after she had returned to the states. To make matters worse, Nate's patience with Holly's constant interference was rapidly nearing the breaking point. It surprised her he'd held back this long. Mark and Carl sure hadn't. God, she couldn't wait to get away from the strain of trying to keep Nate and her friends happy.

"It's not even that cold yet, Holly. Besides, this will give me a chance to have something fun to tell you for a change." Cocking her head as she folded a tee shirt, she asked seriously, "You wouldn't begrudge me that, would you?"

"Of course not, but really, Eve, your trip can't compare to what I've seen for the simple fact you won't be able to see the beautiful sights the island is sure to have. If I were there, I could see them for you, like I've always done."

No, Eve thought sadly, she had never done that, but she couldn't see that. Holly had always been self-absorbed, but Eve knew that came from her insecure nature and never held it against her. "Nate will describe the scenery to me. He's actually very good at it."

"I don't know why he bothers when you're already sleeping with him. Just don't bite my head off when I say I told you so when he walks."

"Holly, so nice of you to stop by to see us off with such well wishes." Nate's tone dripped with icy sarcasm he didn't try to stifle after entering Eve's room in time to hear her snide comment. He handed her her jacket with a censoring look, saying, "You must not have noticed you dropped this on the entry floor where someone might trip on it."

"No, I didn't. Thanks." Taking her jacket, she looked away from Nate's brittle stare. "Have a good time, Eve. I'll talk to you in a few days."

Eve cocked her head, listening to Holly's hasty departure before telling Nate, "I don't think she appreciated your sarcasm."

"I'm beginning to regret not listening to Carl's and Mark's comments about your friend. Surely you can see that woman cares only for herself."

Eve turned away from him, going back into the closet to find her swimsuit. "I know she can be a little self-centered," she called back, "but that's just because she's always been so insecure. If you had seen how shy she was when she was younger and the way other kids took advantage of her, you'd understand her better." Coming back out of the closet, she tossed her suit on top of her other clothes. "Despite her faults, Nate, she's always been there for me, even when no one else was. Other than Holly and my parents, everyone else in my life conveniently disappeared after my accident. Holly pestered the police for weeks afterward, demanding to know if they had any clues to who ran us off the road. She was devastated by my injuries and so afraid she was going to lose me."

Nate had his doubts about Eve's claims, but knew she didn't want to hear them. And maybe she was right; maybe Holly was insensitive and self-serving but truly cared for Eve the way Eve did for her. God knew he was no expert on relationships, but he still couldn't imagine either him or any of his friends being so clueless as to act and speak with such callousness.

"As you said, you know her best. But you might want to use that acute hearing of yours and start listening closer to what you're not hearing. Okay," he said quickly when she scowled and opened her mouth to protest. "Enough said for now." Taking her in his arms, he switched the subject by teasing, "Did I mention you won't be wearing a bathing suit, or anything else much while we're on the island?"

"What about the resort's staff? I know you said you guys rented the five bungalows and had the island to yourselves, but doesn't the resort have people around?" While running around naked in front of Nate's friends on a tropical island sounded like hedonistic fun, she wasn't too keen about not knowing if strangers were lurking around.

"Other than the bungalows, there's only a small clubhouse where a staff serves breakfast and lunch. We pay extra to have them prepare both meals in the morning so we can have the island to ourselves all day and Fin likes puttering in the kitchen even on vacation. So, other than me, no one will see you naked or be watchin
g us except our little group. Dec and Fin have invited Sherry and you'll like her. She's a regular at Dec's club and just wants to have a good time, which suits them both perfectly."

"I'm still bringing my suit, just in case."

She turned her head away, still uncomfortable with any mention of Dec's private club. Nate tapped her nose loving the way she got all flustered whenever he mentioned it. He'd like to take her there some day, but no time soon. Right now, he was ahead of the game because he finally had her considering they might have an actual relationship going for them. There was no need to risk capsizing by rocking that unstable boat right now. He was already treading in shallow water where Holly was concerned. "If you must," he answered with an exaggerated, heartfelt sigh. "If you're done packing, Carl and Mark want to join us for pizza tonight. I think they're intending some last minute lecturing on how to take care of you away from the comfort of your familiar surroundings. I'll humor them tonight, but give me some credit for knowing I'll have to acclimate you to the surroundings somewhat when we arrive."

Eve didn't tell him she'd been worrying about that very thing. He always took it so personally when someone dared to give him advice on how to deal with her limitations. It was actually kind of cute, something else she didn't dare say. "They mean well." Going on tiptoe, she kissed him lightly. "In case I'm having so much fun I forget, thank you for taking me on this trip."

"You're welcome." His return kiss wasn't light.

Eve let Nate snap her seatbelt on, just like she let him keep a tight hold on her arm as he guided her up the small jet's steps and let him count the steps between her seat and the restroom. Under normal circumstances, his over protective, authoritative manner would annoy the hell out of her, but today she found it comforting. It told her she wasn't the only one stressing out over her ability to maneuver around the strange surroundings he was taking her to. This was one of those firsts she told him about, those things she did for the first time since being blind, and she was grateful for his consideration even if he was going a little overboard.

"The others just pulled up. Sherry and Katie will join you while we talk to the pilot and get ready for take-off."

Eve smiled with reassurance. "Nate, I'm fine. Go do whatever you have to do. I can't wait to feel eighty-degree weather after the freeze we had last night." Three full days in tropical weather sounded like heaven right now. She'd never liked the cold.

"You're a wimp if you think this morning is frigid. Wait until I take you snow skiing, then you'll know cold. But don't worry; I know lots of ways to warm you up."

Eve knew exactly how he could warm her up and she didn't need to be cold for him to do it. "So, does that mean you won't be warming me up over the next few days since I doubt if I'll be cold on the island?"

"Behave or I'll get started now. Be right back."

Eve relaxed in the wide, butter soft leather seat and tried to get both her excitement and worry under control. It had taken some doing to get a four-day weekend right before Thanksgiving and she didn't want to waste a minute of her precious vacation time worrying about either her ability to cope with getting around or about how good it felt to banter with Nate as if they were the best of friends and lovers. She knew he thought he wanted more from their relationship than sex, but she also knew he still had no clue what that would mean on a daily basis. They spent their time together in a sexual, mind boggling frenzy, which has been fun, but surely Nate realized lust would wane and odds were they would discover they had nothing going for them except some really hot memories. Chances were, when that happened, Holly would be right and he'd find all the concessions he had to make for her a tiresome burden not worth the effort.

Shoving aside concerns she didn't need to deal with now, she vowed to get the most out of the next few days, even if it meant risking feelings she swore she didn't have for Nate.

It was early afternoon when the group disembarked from the boat that ferried them from Belize over to the private island. The tropical sun and moist trade winds caressed Eve's exposed skin and the fragrant hint of tropical blossoms tickled her nose. Holding tight to Nate's hand, she bent to remove her shoes then sank her feet into warm, soft sand with a heartfelt sigh. "I'm never leaving," she murmured, her toes curling in pleasure.

"I see you'll be easy to please the next few days." Nate picked up her small bag along with his. "Shall we meet up in the clubhouse in about an hour?" he asked the group at large.

"That works. I want to check out what the staff has going for dinner before they take off." Fin slung an arm around Sherry's shoulders and headed with Dec towards their bungalow as Wes and Katie agreed before taking off in the opposite direction.

"This way, Eve. The island's small and wide open, the only thing separating the bungalows other than a couple hundred feet of sand are a few, sparsely populated palm trees. Watch your step here," Nate instructed when they reached their bungalow. "Housing is on stilts to accommodate high tides during bad weather so you'll have to navigate some stairs."

"I think I can handle that." Eve followed him up enjoying the tight grip of his large hand wrapped around hers as much as the narration and warm weather. "I can hear the waves. Is the beach far?"

"Not at all. Turn to your right at the bottom of the stairs and go straight for about fifteen yards and you'll walk right into it. I made sure I picked the bungalow that had a clear path to the beach, so there aren't any obstacles if you want to go down on your own."

Stepping over the threshold, she turned to him, cocking her head. "You really did give this some thought, didn't you?"

"Damn right. I'm not totally clueless, Eve. Now, there's just this one room and the bathroom, about ten paces to your left." He told her the placement of the bed, small table and chairs and the wicker sofa then let her explore her surroundings on her own, using her cane to familiarize herself with the room.

Eve could feel him watching her as she maneuvered with slow movements around the spacious room. She assumed the warm cross breeze she felt was coming in from windows opposite each other and it helped calm her sudden nervousness. She didn't like being the center of attention, particularly when she wasn't feeling secure in her surroundings, but she couldn't expect Nate to wait outside. Finally, she heard him moving around, unzipping his bag and opening drawers. She found her way into the bathroom and closed the door for a few minutes of privacy while she got her bearings. After taking the time to freshen up, she felt better and more confident of herself, at least with being able to maneuver around without embarrassing herself. With Nate, she had never felt entirely sure of either herself or him.

"What would you like to do first? We have a few hours before we'll have dinner." Nate was glad to see color back in her face and the pinched look around her mouth gone when she came out of the bathroom.

There was both delicacy and strength in her face as there was in her petite body. He could tell she didn't like him watching her earlier and her vulnerability pulled at him. In those few moments of watching her navigate around the room with such intense concentration, he was struck by how fragile her life really was. She was normally so independent he sometimes forgot how easily she could be hurt. She wore those lustful, ass hugging jeans again and a bright yellow tee shirt that said 'You can't scare me, I'm a teacher!', but he wondered if that was true. He knew their developing relationship scared the hell out of her, but he was hoping these few days away from the stress of her work and Holly's pessimistic influence would help her see they had more going for them than great sex. Of course, he intended to use some really good sex to convince her of that.

"I want to go down to the beach. I'm sure I can get there if you want to go meet with the guys."

Nate wrapped his hands around her upper arms and pulled her to him, his mouth swooping down to take hers in a deep, tongue probing kiss before he said, "Give me a minute and I'll apply your sunscreen first."

She was on the veranda when he finished in the bathroom and the sight of her ha
nds wrapped around the bamboo rail, her eyes closed and head tilted back caused him to struggle over the lump lodged in his throat. The urge to strip the shorts she changed into down to her knees, bend her over and sink into her wet heat was almost as overwhelming as the way his more than lustful feelings for her snuck up on him and became as demanding as his cock. With effort, he reined in his baser needs and concentrated on the big picture, giving Eve a few days of adventurous pampering. Grabbing a tube of sunscreen, he stepped up behind her, touching her waist with light fingers. "This just won't do, sugar." Deftly loosening her shorts, he pushed them down to pool at her feet.

Eve sucked in a breath when she felt her shorts fall, the sun's heat on her face warming her as much as the heat of Nate's body behind her. When he pulled her top over her head, leaving her in nothing but a silky thong, she didn't shy away from the sudden exposure. "You're not wasting any time," she breathed, her nipples puckering without any incentive other than the erotic feel of outdoor nakedness.

"Well, we do only have a few days to get in as much as possible. But we can't start out with you getting sunburned, so I'll leave those pretty folds covered for now. You don't seem worried about anyone watching." Nate squeezed lotion onto his palms as he waited for her answer. He had expected her to at least ask if there was anyone within viewing range, but she appeared both relaxed and excited about her nudity.

"You warned me what to expect and besides, your friends have seen me naked already, so that helps." It also helped she could recall the pleasure to be had from public exposure, but she kept that to herself. Nate had enough ammunition to arouse her with; he didn't need more.
