“There is the fact of your feelings for Rowan.”
“Oh,” I whispered.
“And you’re pretty drunk.” He smiled and looked back to me, then lifted his hand to my face.
I leaned into it and closed my eyes, like a cat wanting to be scratched behind the ear. “I know I am, but I can still make rational decisions.” Opening my eyes, I lifted a brow. “What if I kiss you, instead?”
“Instead?” he asked in a husky voice. “You want to come kiss me?”
I nodded with a grin. “I do.”
“Well, I won’t stop you from doing that, I suppose. But don’t try to cop a feel, got it?”
I laughed. “Got it. But Kai?”
“Yeah, Jac?”
Pressing my knee into the couch, like the cat I was earlier, I crawled over to him and straddled his lap. My arms slipped around his neck and I leaned in. His eyes stared up into mine and damn, he made my stomach flutter. “Thank you for this, for tonight. I needed it desperately.”
He smiled and tilted his head slightly. “You’re very welcome.”
“You know, for being what is technically an ogar, you’re not half bad.”
He chuckled. “For being the Valkyrie, you’re not half bad yourself.”
“Whatever. I’m the shit. I’m fucking hot, Kai. Everybody wants a piece of Jac.” I giggled, then snorted.
He laughed with me. “Well, remember you said that in the morning.”
I sobered just slightly at his words. Morning. “Kai?” His brows lifted for me to continue. “Will you stay with me tonight?”
“Are you sure that is what you want?”
I nodded then whispered. “I do.”
“Okay,” he told me in a soft whisper. “Now come here and kiss me.” His hands moved up my thighs until he cupped my ass. Leaning into him, my lips captured his. Kai’s lips were soft and I could taste the whiskey. His tongue swiped my lips and a soft whimper sounded.
He chuckled softly and the sound reverberated against my chest in the most sensual way. My body rubbed up against his, my hips grinding against his pelvis. Suddenly, his hands pressed against my cheeks softly and he pulled back.
“Whoa, girl. We need to slow down. You keep doing what you’re doing, I can’t guarantee I will stay. I’ll want to do things I know I shouldn’t.”
I groaned and sat slack in his lap. “You’re a party pooper.”
The corner of his mouth lifted in a grin. “I didn’t say to stop kissing, just...slow it down some.”
“Isn’t it the girl who should be saying to slow it down?” I grinned and leaned back into him, pressing my lips to his. He wrapped both arms around my body and pulled me close.
Kai stood from the couch and I gasped against his lips. He lifted me with my legs around his waist, then he laid me on my back on the couch and hovered above me. “Mmm, much better.” He kissed me once more and my arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer to me. My legs wrapped around his thick waist.
I felt Kai press his pelvis against me and if size were any indication, he was definitely proportionate. He rubbed against me again and this time, he hit the sensitive skin of my clit through my panties, which were now wet.
“Oh my God,” I whispered against his lips. “I need you, more of you, please.”
He chuckled. “How about we see where we are in the morning, and make a decision then if we want to do more?”
I blinked up to him, then shrugged. “Oh this is going to suck.” I sighed and mocked rolling my eyes. “Okay fine. Will you sleep next to me?”
He groaned and his head rested next to my shoulder. “I’ll try,” he mumbled against me.
I grinned and let out a soft giggle. “Okay, then let’s go to my bedroom. I’m tired, drunk and thanks to you, horny. Not a good combination.”
He sighed and nodded. “Same here, minus the drunk. Come on, I’ll carry you. Need me to help you get dressed?” Kai waggled his brows and I laughed.
“Unless you plan on doing something with my naked body? No, you better not.”
“Fair enough. Can’t fault me for trying.” He chuckled, picked me up and carried me to my room. Kai sat me on my bed and I at least let him remove my shoes. “I’ll be right back. Need to hit the head.”
I nodded. “Bathroom is that way.” Pointing to my right, he nodded and I laid back on my bed. My comforter was comfortable, but my sheets would be better. Struggling against pulling the sheets down while I lied on top of them, I finally managed, then slipped under the covers and sighed.
Sleep began to threaten to take me pretty quick. “Kai,” I yawned, “Hurry before I pass out.” Turning on my side, sleep instantly took me into dreamland.
Chapter Twelve
LIPS MOVED GRACEFULLY over mine, almost like soft velvet. His tongue slipped over my own and it was intoxicating. My fingers moved into his hair and I pulled him closer, needing more of him. His pelvis pressed hard against my sex and I knew I was wet; wet for him.
Looking up to him, dark eyes stared into mine and I grinned. Kai kissed me once more as his hand grasped my breasts, pinching and rolling my nipple between his fingers. He kissed my jawline, then to my neck.
Kai began to move down my body and anticipation grew hot. He pushed my legs further apart with his palms while he kissed along the contours of my stomach. Small flutters rushed through me as my chest rose and fell quickly.
His fingers hooked into either side of my panties and he tugged, pulling them down the length of my legs. “My God, you’re so damn beautiful.” His voice, thick with lust, hoarse with need, Kai kissed just above the thin hair line that lead to my sex.
Running one hand underneath my leg, then the other, Kai pulled me roughly to him, pulling my body against his face. The man devoured my pussy with a kiss that would set Hell on fire. My back arched and I moaned so loud I knew my neighbors would definitely hear me. My hands fisted in the sheets and my body began to shake.
He licked me from bottom to top, focusing on my clit. He sucked and flicked it, each resulting with my hips bucking. Kai pushed a finger inside me and it was all I could do to not come undone.
A loud beep interrupted us as a soft sound at first, then it progressively grew louder and louder. Just as I had been about to sit up to ask Kai what the sound was, I heard his voice, but it had not come from down below.
“Jac!”
I screamed and woke with a start, panting in an almost post orgasmic state. My eyes adjusted to the room and my chest heaved in breaths. Doing a double take at Kai, I quickly pulled the covers to my shoulders and scooted across the bed.
“Seriously? Am I that ugly in the morning?” he asked with a grin.
I shook my head. “Nope. Total opposite, matter of fact.”
“I turned off your alarm. Guess you’re not working today?”
I shook my head. “It shouldn’t have been set.” Maybe at the mention of alarm, or work, whatever it was, the hangover effect hit me. “Oh my God, my head!” Laying back on my pillow, I heard Kai chuckle. I pulled one of my spare pillows over my face and groaned into it.
“Care to tell me what you were dreaming about?”
I peeked to him through my pillow to him and scowled. “No.” Covering my face once more, “I need coffee.”
“Sorry, I don’t understand pillow talk. Well, unless it involves sex and calling my name.”
I felt my face heat. “Oh my God, did I talk in my sleep?”
“No exactly talk, more like...moan.”
“OH MY GOD GET OUT OF MY ROOM!” I squealed and Kai chuckled. I felt the bed move as he stood. I took a chance and peeked to see if he were dressed, and to my disappointment, he was. The pillow covered my face once more, not to give him the satisfaction I was looking.
“I’ll go grab us some coffee. Want any food?”
“Yes. Something greasy.” I peeked to him. “Please?”
“Say my name again like you did.” He grinned.
I growled and threw my pillow at him. He la
ughed and dodged it. “Right. Okay I’ll be back soon.” He winked and left my bedroom. I waited in my bed until I heard the door close. Once it did, I sighed and sat up.
“Oh God,” I whispered to myself, “never again will I drink as much as I did last night.” Walking toward the bathroom, I flinched. “Wow, sexy.” The circles under my eyes were dark and my hair was matted, almost standing on end. Comes with having short hair, I suppose.
Turning on the shower, I waited for it to turn warm as I brushed my teeth, getting the foul taste of hangover out of it. Stepping under the hot water, I surrendered to it, enjoying the warmth as it enveloped me. Pressing my palms against the tile, last nights events replayed: kissing Kai, fight with Rowan, the news about me being some sort of savior.
I shook my head. “They have the wrong girl.” I sighed with my words and quickly washed up then stepped out. Wrapping my head and body in a separate towels, I walked out to my den, then screamed.
“HOLY FUCK YOU FUCKER HEAD!” Sometimes when I get scared I have no idea what may come out of my mouth. Rowan sat on my couch, staring at me and damn, he appeared to look quite angry.
Well fuck him, so was I.
“Fucker head?” he asked.
I gritted my teeth. “What are you doing here? You don’t sneak up on people like that, Rowan!” I shook my head and made my way into the kitchen. Remembering Kai had left for coffee. I paused, wondering why I walked in here. Damn Rowan had that effect, especially when he looked so damn angry.
Great, now I’m lusting over two men. One who won’t return my affection, and one who I just met and want to give myself to. Great. Hello hookertown.
“Jac,” he spoke in a softer voice, his features softening just slightly. “Are you okay?”
I raised my brow. “Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?” Leaving the kitchen I went back to my bathroom and grabbed my brush. Pulling the towel from my head, I tossed it to the hamper and brushed my hair out. Glancing in the mirror, Rowan watched intently. “Rowan, why are you here? I’m fine.”
“I knew Kai took you home and hell, you barely know him.”
“Yeah?” I turned to face him and poked his chest. “You have room to talk. I thought I knew you.”
“Wow, okay I deserved that. As cold as it sounded, I deserved it.”
Rowan followed me to my room as I stopped to my dresser. Pulling out panties and bra, I tossed them to my bed. “And?” I dug out a t-shirt and shorts then turned to him. I motioned him out of my room and he turned around.
“And what?” he asked me.
I quickly donned the clothes on my body and ran my hand through my wet hair. “And, why are you here, Rowan? Kai is on his way back with breakfast.”
Rowan turned back to face me. “He stayed the night?” Heat rose in his voice and Rowan crossed the room to me, grabbing my arms. “Jac, did you sleep with him?”
“Seriously?” Pushing him away I shook my head. “No, but not that it is any of your fucking business, asshole.”
He stared at me, then lowered his gaze. “I’m...I’m sorry.” Rowan turned on his heel and headed toward my door.
I watched him as he turned his back to me and I shook my head. “What, that’s it?”
Stopping, Rowan kept his back to me. “What else is there to say? I fucked up.”
“Yeah you did, but I’ve known you a long fucking time, and that’s it? You’re going to let it all go because you fucked up by not telling me something? Granted, it was uber important, but because I’m pissed at you doesn’t make me a fucking sadist, Rowan.”
I watched as his shoulders lifted, then sagged with a sigh. He looked over his shoulder to me, and his eyes...his sad eyes cried out in pain. “Jac, you know I...” he stopped as the door opened, and Kai walked in.
Chapter Thirteen
I STARED BETWEEN THE two men in my living room. Fuck. My. Life. Kai stared at me, then looked to Rowan, then back to me.
“Should I go?” he sounded sincere, which is a better alternative than being pissy.
I looked from one man to the other, both offering something to me, something I have wanted for so long. One I’ve longed for, the other who drives me wild. Together, not that this was something I have ever experienced, but considering the circumstances, and how I feel about both of them, I decide to take a leap of faith.
“No, don’t leave.”
Kai’s brows raise in surprise. “You don’t want me to go?”
I shook my head then looked to Rowan.
“Okay, so you want me to go then?” Rowan’s brows furrowed in anger and I quickly shook my head.
“No, no, I want you to stay here as well.” I felt my face begin to blush and I swallowed hard. I began to fan my face. “Wow, is it hot in here?”
Both men looked to one another and Kai raised his brow, curiosity striking him first. “So,” he began and stepped further into the room, then set down the food. “If you want us both to stay, is there something you wish to say to both of us?”
“Okay, so this is awkward,” Rowan chuckled and glanced to Kai, then back to me. “Let’s get the elephant in the room out.”
When I looked over to Rowan, he stood in the middle of the room with both arms waving me over. “What are you going to do? Wrestle me or something?”
“Really? Hell no you’ll kick my ass!” Rowan grinned and waved me over once more.
I smiled. “Rowan, my head is pounding, like bad. I drank way too much last night.”
“I know, partly because of me. Partly because...no all because of me. I’ll accept that. Go get some Ibuprofen or something. I’ll wait.”
I shook my head. “No, I’ll get it when you’re done.” Making my way to him, I crossed my arms over my chest, feeling as if I were locking myself down from him. In a way I suppose I was. “Okay?” I felt Kai’s eyes on my back as if he were staring a line into my the center of it.
Rowan stepped closer and unwound my arms, then took my hands in his. He stared into my eyes, his beautiful blue eyes, he made it almost impossible to look away. He smiled softly, then leaned in. Just as I thought he were about to kiss me, he rested his forehead against mine and sighed.
“I am truly, deeply sorry for hurting you. It was never my intention. I would never purposely set out to hurt you. You are too important to me, Jac. Please forgive me.”
As far as apologies go, this has to be one of the best I’ve ever heard. I nodded a few times. “No more secrets Rowan, promise me.”
“Okay, no more secrets.”
I smiled and pulled back, then slipped a hand behind his head and pulled him to me. “Now kiss me.”
Rowan did not waste any time in doing so. He captured my lips and at first, he was soft, tentative as if he would hurt me by merely kissing me.
Pulling back, I perked a brow. “Really? That’s all you got?”
He chuckled, looked to my lips, then back to me. “Well? We sort of have company?”
Watching Rowan’s eyes cast over to where Kai stood, I nodded. “Yes, I know.” Releasing him, I turned and held a hand out for Kai. He stood in place for a moment, then after a few seconds, he crossed the room.
“So, fearsome threesome?” Kai offered with a chuckle.
I smiled and shook my head. “Something like that. Now listen, both of you.” My right hand I held onto Rowan and in my left, Kai. “I have feelings for both of you for different reasons. Rowan,” looking to him first, “you’ve been there for me for so long, seen me through so much. I’ve had feelings for you for so long.” He smiled to my words and I continued. “When I offered myself to you, and you turned me away, I felt completely rejected. It killed me, Rowan. Killed me.”
“Jac, I’m so sorry,” he whispered. Rowan’s eyes stared into mine, the sadness in them did not go unnoticed.
“That is not what this is about; I already forgave you.” Tugging on his arm, I pulled him close and kissed him softly on the lips. Clearing my throat, I then continued and turned to face Kai.
“As for you, mist
er,” I grinned and Kai’s features lit in excitement. “When I met you, I was at my worst. You picked me up, dusted me off, basically slapped me on the ass and told me to put myself back together. You saw me through the hardest part of my life and the fucking bomb you dropped on me...holy hell.”
“Yeah, sorry about that,” he muttered.
I grinned. “What I’m getting at is, I’m grateful for you. I would not be here, right now, if it were not for you. I think, in time, we would have wound up meeting, but for different reasons. That set aside, you were there for me, and for that, again, I am grateful and,” I shrugged with a smile, “I love you in my own way.” I then tugged on his arm and pulled him close, then kissed him on the lips.
When I pulled back, Kai’s mouth lifted in a lopsided grin and damn, was it cute. “Well, where does that leave us?”
“I’m glad you asked. I love each of you for different reasons. Together, you two have managed to make me whole. Together, I feel I could conquer anything. Together,” I lowered my gaze and blushed fiercely, “I want you both to myself.”
“Really?” Rowan spoke first and I felt his body move closer to my own. “Are you sure?”
My gaze rose to meet his and I held it for a moment, then smiled with a nod. “Yes.”
“Well, this just got real interesting,” Kai spoke from behind me. “Are you suggesting what I think you’re suggesting?”
I held Rowan’s gaze for a moment longer, offered a smile, then turned to Kai and tilted my head. “Yes, I am.”
His gaze lingered on mine for a moment. Kai looked over my shoulder to Rowan, then back to me. I have no idea what may have transpired in that brief momentary glance, but I didn’t care. I wanted both of them, equally.
Kai smiled and nodded. “Okay.”
“Okay?” I asked and my expression lit.
He nodded once more. “Yes, okay.”
I turned my gaze back to Rowan and he smiled to me, and nodded.
“Oh wow,” I whispered, “so this is really going to happen?”
