“Join? Yes, I will. But I’m not willing to leave my planet or my family,” she said, with a hand on either chest.

“Our society is matriarchal. It’s normal for Nephilim men to move to the place where they find their join. We will happily stay here with you,” said Tonne.

“I’m afraid you can’t fly, though I would love to watch. We’re in a large city; someone with a cell phone would be bound to get you on film.”

She looked so sad for them, they both tried to reassure her.

“We don’t have to fly. Our wings won’t be dry enough for at least an hour, anyway,” said Tonne.

Suddenly, she wanted them to be able to fly. They said they needed an hour for their wings to dry.

“For how long do you fly?” she asked.

“Not long…only for one or two minutes. Our wings aren’t strong enough for longer. They will fall out after we join,” said Tonne. He skipped the part where the mate usually hung the wings of her Ankida on the wall.

Aimeé thought frantically for where they could drive and not be disturbed or seen. The zoo!

“We’ll go to the zoo. The night guard at the gate will let me in. I often go by to check on my patients at night. Many of them are nocturnal. I know a meadow inside the zoo surrounded by tall trees. If you don’t fly too high, you won’t be seen. What do you think?” she asked them.

Both Jorne and Tonne were willing to forego their flight. When Aimeé told them they could fly at the zoo, one of her favorite spots, they knew she was sincere when she agreed to join with them.

It took a few minutes to figure out a way to cover up their wings so they could get passed the night duty guard. With their wings covered, Aimeé had enough respite from the effects to act calmly and normally. The guard was familiar with Aimeé’s late night visits.

The first night she had shown up with these two men, he had been reluctant to let them in. The police were still patrolling the perimeter, and security had been tightened with extra patrols. When Aimeé told him Jorne and Tonne were the two men who’d saved her and helped capture the men shooting up the zoo, he’d let them in.

Now, he recognized the three of them again, and didn’t hesitate to let them through the back gate. For once, Aimeé didn’t feel the need to check on her patients in the infirmary. She led the two men deep into the zoo, passed by the lion house, and ended up at an open grassy area surrounded by trees on three sides. This area had no current exhibits. It was far enough from any buildings and they would not be seen.

“This is the place,” she said.

Jorne and Tonne took off the restricting coverings, and stretched out their wings. Aimeé was hit with a wave of lust.

“Are you guys ready to fly? Because I gotta tell you, I’m really ready to fuck—or join—or whatever.”

Both Jorne and Tonne laughed. The two of them were about to achieve the dream of a lifetime. They had come to this new world in search of a queen, and here, they had found their own future. Jorne looked at his brother helping Aimeé lay out a blanket on the ground. Back on HeVan, a family might have a joining blanket passed down from mother to daughter. He wished he had such a gift for Aimeé. This joining ceremony meant everything to him. He wanted her to feel and understand what it truly represented. He would think on it. Right now, his body was pushing at him to complete the ritual.

Lying flat on the blanket, Aimeé watched as Jorne and Tonne jumped into the sky. It was dark. The few lamps that lit the walkways throughout the zoo were turned off. She could hear some of the animals and imagined herself out in the wild.

  Am I really doing this?

She was amazed at how much she wanted it. She knew, deep in her bones, down to her cells, this was what she needed to complete her life. She wanted a life with these men, to have their children. She was so freaked out earlier. Now as she watched them she remembered their time together from the incident at the zoo up to now. They were worth the risk. Plus, they were totally hot!

Knowing what they were about to do, she gave a fleeting thought to birth control, but discarded the worry. She had a successful career making good money. She owned her business and her home, carrying minimal debt, especially when she considered some of the medical equipment she had.

Whatever happened as a result of this joining, she would accept it and go on from there. She was one hundred percent sure Jorne and Tonne would be by her side through it all. Right now, as she lay dreaming on the blanket, they were both walking around her as their wings became dry enough for flight.

When they leapt into the air, she choked on a sob at the beauty of it. The haze of light perennially over the city was enough for her to barely make them out. Like birds, their wings were colorful. She could see bronze, iridescent green—which reminded her of a duck’s feathers—and black.

She was concentrating on their movements, and it was hypnotizing. As she watched, she also began to peel off her clothing. It had suddenly felt too restrictive to her, too tight on her skin. She wanted to feel the air. She needed the essence of her mates to seep into her pores.

Involuntarily, she raised her arms to reach out to them. She knew she couldn’t fly with them; she only wished she could. While her body couldn’t, she did feel as though her soul could, and did, fly and soar with them as they looped and dove over her.

Looking at Jorne and then Tonne, she met their eyes and basked in the love she saw shining there. Slowly, with their arms locked at the elbow, the two of them began to spiral down to her.

Her body was at a fever pitch and they weren’t even inside her. She became aware of her hips moving restlessly up and down, beckoning to them. They were quick to answer the summons; she was ready for them.

When they touched down, they separated, lying down on either side of her. Jorne leaned over and took her mouth in a kiss that melted what was left of her bones. She was a big throbbing puddle of need. She could feel the hands of both men wandering up and down her torso. The sensations were so strong! She pulled her mouth away.

“No more teasing. I need you both inside me right now,” she said, pushing at Jorne’s shoulders. Obligingly, he rolled back and pulled her along with him. Desperate to be filled, she fitted him to her dripping crevice and eased down over his long length.

“That feels so good. I want more,” she said, looking at Tonne, who was watching with heated eyes. She lifted a hand in his direction as she rocked back and forth on Jorne’s cock.

“You’re so beautiful,” Tonne said as he moved forward to take her mouth in a deep wet kiss, their tongues tangling.

“And her skin is like silk,” said Jorne as he ran his hands up her torso to cup her breasts. Tonne at her mouth, Jorne inside her, with hands over her, down and flicking her clit, it sent her over.

Tonne moved behind her. He slipped a finger inside her rosette and could feel her body preparing for him. He worked in a second finger, stretching her to take his cock. She was dripping with juices. He used his hands to spread her cheeks wide and slowly pushed in until he was fully seated.

“Are you ready? We’re going to take you now,” he whispered in her ear as he bent over her back.

“I’m ready, take me now!” she said, pushing against them.

She told them the truth. Jorne had a monster cock and yet, she’d slipped him inside her easily. Her body was prepared to take them both. She didn’t know how and she didn’t really care. Later, she’d try to understand the mechanics of it. Right now, she only wanted them to keep filling her, and move!

As Jorne shifted into a better position on the blanket, there was a slight popping sound. One of his wings came off, and a wave of pheromones broke over them all. Aimeé moaned and tried to move, but between them, Tonne and Jorne controlled the dance.

“Harder,” she panted out. “Harder, damn it, I need more!”

“We hear you, nanna,” said Jorne.

Exchanging a look with Tonne, the two men began picking up the pace and the force of their movements in and out. Aimeé was so tu
rned on, her channels were well lubricated. The two men timed their thrusts so she was always filled with one or the other. When she called for more, they began to move in unison so she was stuffed so full she felt she might burst.

  “Yes! Harder!” she yelled.

Jorne looked at her, and couldn’t believe the joy pulsing through him. She writhed against them both as peak after peak rolled through her body. That afternoon, he and Tonne had performed the Kuan Haddis; the female pleasure massage handed down and taught to all male Nephilim. Even then, she wasn’t as wild as she was now.

“Come for us, nanna,” said Tonne as he leaned forward and lightly bit down on the stretched tendon between her shoulder and neck.

“Come for us, nanna,” said Jorne, flicking a finger back and forth over her clit.

Both men continued to urge her to higher peaks as they approached their own finish.

“Now,” said Jorne, and with a groan, both men thrust in hard, their seed releasing inside and bathing her channels.

Aimeé screamed, and collapsed over Jorne’s chest.

Easing out of her, Tonne pulled her off Jorne, and rolled them both to the side. The men eased closer to her, riding the aftershocks of their pleasure. Aimeé had her eyes closed, using only her sense of touch to tell her what was happening. She needed a moment to absorb the changes she felt within her. On a soul level, she felt very connected to them both.

When a cool breeze brushed over her shoulder, she shivered and woke from the orgasm-produced haze in which she was drifting.

“What was it you called me?” she croaked out.

“Hmm?” mumbled Jorne, running a hand over her thigh. He would never tire of touching her.

“Nanna, you called me nanna. On Earth, it’s what we sometimes call our grandparents. I’m guessing you meant something else?” she asked, turning onto her back and propping herself up on her elbows so she could look down at both of them.

“Nanna means Goddess of the Moon in our language,” Tonne said.

“Here, under this sky, you are our moon goddess, our nanna,” said Jorne.

She let it drop. It was weird, but now she knew what it meant, she’d always understand the compliment. Instead, she concentrated on the new sensation flowing through her.

“We’re truly joined now. I can feel it flowing between us. Is it always like this?” she asked.

Both men looked at her, surprised.

“No, I don’t think it is. I have only our parents and a few others to judge by, though,” said Tonne, before looking over at his brother.

“I think it must be linked to your gifts in some way,” said Jorne. “Does it bother you?”

“No, in fact I love it. I’ll always feel the connection between us. It makes it so much more special to me. Maybe I would have this feeling to anyone I gave my heart to, but I don’t think so. I think I would only have this deep connection with the two of you.”

“You love us? Because we love you very much,” said Jorne.

“Yes, we love you. You are everything to us. We are honored to be your Ankida, your joined mates,” said Tonne.

“I love you both. I’ve been drawn to you both from the first. I started loving you when you helped me operate on the wounded lion. Even though you were nervous and didn’t know what you were doing. From there, it just grew and grew.”

They would have initiated another bout of lovemaking, but she knew from experience their quick recovery and stamina. She held up a hand.

“No more outdoor games. If you guys are all through flying, I’d like to move us back to my place,” she said. “As much as I love animals, when it comes to sex, I prefer the privacy and amenities of a bedroom—though the living room will do in a pinch.”

She had fond memories of one night on her couch. She hummed contentedly under her breath.

When they stood to dress, Jorne’s wings were lying on the blanket. Tonne turned and asked her to finish removing his. She was careful because she didn’t want to cause him pain. He explained his skin was already starting to heal, and it was better if they were removed right away. Then she didn’t hesitate, though she was still careful. As a vet, she was interested, she paid close attention to how they were connected to his spine and shoulder blades.

She gently folded both sets of wings inside the blanket. She wanted to save them. She knew her Ankida wouldn’t grow another pair. They hadn’t said so, she just instinctively knew. She would find a way to honor their role this night.

The wind was picking up, perhaps a storm was coming in off the ocean. They were close here by the zoo. Fog was filtering through the eucalyptus and other trees. Aimeé knew she would remember this time and place all her life. Shivering, she rushed to put on her clothes. Ten minutes later, they were headed back to her place. Aimeé wondered if Jo was awake yet.

  Chapter Seventeen

  HeVan…

By the time the Venger approached the KowLer Gate, Justyn and the crew had set a schedule for combat practice, and fight drills. The level of anger amongst those chosen for the crew had only increased when the full details of Hend’s crimes were revealed.

As they approached the gate, Justyn was surprised to see two KowLer warships blocking his way.

“Hail the gate and find out why our way is blocked. They knew we were coming and what our mission is,” said Justyn from the command chair. Before the communications officer could start the hail, the KowLer Gate hailed them. Justyn was surprised to see Malpha on his screen.

“Justyn, I apologize on behalf of the KowLer that we allowed Hend to escape. I’m still trying to get Ben to listen to my counsel,” she said in a dry voice.

It had only been a short time since she had come to the KowLer, and she was still recovering from the marathon sex of the mating fever. She was going to have to teach Ben, her husband and king, a lesson. She would put her mind to it, as soon as she dealt with this small problem.

“We offer two additional escort ships in case he further attempts to delay your pursuit,” said Malpha.

“Thank you. I will not turn away your aid. However, you must understand that no ships, other than ours, will be allowed through the Earth Gate,” Justyn said.

“Yes, we understand. We will wait and escort your return, as well,” said Ben, standing next to Malpha.

Justyn agreed and he proceeded to the gate. As he made his goodbyes to the king and queen of the KowLer people, he noticed the room where they stood couldn’t be on the gate station. They must have extended the signal from the planet’s surface. Malpha was looking a little tired, but also happy. He made a mental note to let Addie know.

So three ships went through the gate and proceeded along their journey to Earth. Justyn pushed his engines as far as he could—trying to gain on Hend. He knew there was no way to catch up with him. At this point, he wanted to decrease, as much as possible, the amount of time Hend spent on Earth.

They had searched his compound, and Justyn had a pretty good idea of what Hend had taken with him. He had enough wealth to disappear into Earth’s much larger population. He was blessing the knowledge Hend didn’t have access to all Earth languages, other than the one spoken by Addie. The English language had been added to all translation devices. Hopefully, it would make it easier for them to locate their quarry. Hend would not be able to communicate with a large percentage of Earth’s population.

Any message he sent would only reach the gate a few hours earlier than his ships, at the speed they were traveling. He sent one anyway.

After clearing the KowLer Gate, he explained to the captains of the two KowLer vessels the mission he was on. They had been given to understand they were chasing a dangerous fugitive. When they discovered Justyn had taken an oath to engage in a Mok-Tar fight to the death, both captains offered to send their warriors most skilled in single combat to spar with him. The more practice he had, fighting against many different techniques, meant he had a greater chance of beating his opponent.

Margan and Trake pushed the t
raining sessions as much as they could. Currently, Justyn’s rage was still leading his actions. They both knew if he didn’t funnel that rage properly, he might just get himself killed for not paying proper attention to his opponent. Hend was known to be a strong warrior and he would be fighting for his life. If he taunted or enraged Justyn into acting rashly, he might find an opening and succeed in winning the challenge.

“My lord, it’s time for today’s training session,” Margan said from the door of Justyn’s quarters, where he’d been going over some data.

“What do you have for me today, Margan?” Justyn asked. Each day he’d had to face a different weapon and a different fighting technique.

“Back to basics, guardian staffs,” Margan answered.

Justyn got up and, with Margan by his side, the two of them headed to the training room. Guardian staffs were genetically connected to the warrior who owned them. If another tried to grasp the staff, blades would slice outwards. There was also a long blade, about twelve inches from the top of the staff, which extended for an additional eight inches. With a twist of the wrist, the twelve-foot staff would part into two pieces, giving the fighter two bladed weapons, one for each hand.

Reaching the training room, Justyn went to the weapons locker and picked up his staff. The markings etched along its length denoted his House and lineage. His weapon in hand, Justyn approached the marked area near the center of the room where Margan was waiting with his own staff.

They took up their fighting stance, at the signal both sprang forward, their staffs clashing. Both were highly skilled so they each gave no quarter as they fought back and forth across the floor. The blades struck sparks. Margan swung high.
