  Victor Paul Alvarez is an editor for the East Bay newspapers in Providence, Rhode Island. He began his career as a copy boy in the newsroom of the Baltimore Sun.

  Michael A. Fletcher covered City Hall for the Baltimore Sun before leaving for the Washington Post, where he currently covers the Obama White House.

  Greg Garland is an investigative reporter for the Baton Rouge (Louisiana) Advocate. Before that, he was a general assignment state reporter for the Baltimore Sun.

  Nick Hornby’s latest novel is Juliet, Naked. His interview with David Simon was first published in the Believer.

  Joy Lusco Kecken graduated from Towson State University in Baltimore and wrote for the first three seasons of The Wire. She is a writer/director living in Los Angeles.

  Laura Lippman was a reporter for 20 years, including 12 years at the Baltimore Sun. She is the author of 15 novels, many featuring the reporter turned sleuth Tess Monaghan.
