“Man, I haven’t been sneaking around doing shit and you know it.”

“Since you told me about running into that bitch, you been coming in all late and shit, smelling like perfume, and whispering on the phone when we’re here together and that’s whenever you decide to answer it. If that ain’t some sneaky disrespectful shit then I don’t know what is.”

He knew what Heaven was saying was true so he kept quiet. Though it might have been true, Zylen can honestly say he’d never slept with Tamar.

“Yeah, you don’t have shit to say now, do you?” Heaven said.

“Baby, I don’t care what I did, but a cheater I’m not. Kim just trying to start some drama with us and you giving that ho exactly what she want”

Heaven stopped what she was doing to stare at him. “Whatever Zylen, all the bitches I watched you run through but you’re not a cheater? Right!” she said, recalling all the times she would sit on the sideline watching him with different women, wishing it was her.

“But was I in a relationship with anyone then? No, so I was free to do whatever the fuck I wanted to do. I’ve never been that type of nigga to sleep around but after Tamar left, a nigga was so fucked up I began to wild out. I took a vow to never let another female have my heart, then me and you got together and shit changed.” He walked over to her. “I love you, Heaven, and what we have is way more than I had with her. Tamar did the ultimate no-no and I will never mess up what we have for her or anyone else,” Zylen said honestly.

Heaven took a seat on the bed, taking everything he said in. She loved Zylen to the death of her, and that was all there was to it. She wasn’t gonna let Kim or no other bitch break up her happy home.

“That shit was foul and embarrassing for that bitch to bring up Tamar while I was right there,” she said, sitting on the bed with her arms folded underneath her breasts and her legs crossed.

“There’s no need to be embarrassed, baby. Kim ho ass was just trying to start some shit between the two of us, that’s all.”

“You see why I didn’t want no one to know about us?”

“Yeah I see. But I don’t give a fuck because I know I haven’t did anything wrong that would jeopardize my relationship with you. Motherfuckers can say what they want about me but a cheater they can’t. When I’m with someone on that level then I’m with them and only them,” said Zylen.

Heaven rolled her eyes at him and pressed her lips together with her mind already made up on what she was going to do. Let the haters hate!

“I would say I’m sorry but I haven’t done anything wrong,” he said.

“Uh, the hell if you haven’t! You can start off by apologizing for seeing that bitch behind my back and I’m not talking about that time you told me about,” Heaven said seriously.

“Okay, okay…yeah I did see her but I swear it was on some business type shit,” he lied. Zylen might not have cheated but what Tamar was calling him for didn’t have anything to do with business.

“Whatever Zylen, what kind of business was y’all taking care of for you to come home smelling like her?”

“Man that bitch owe me a hundred grand! She stole it from me when we was together then took off. Now she’s back to pay me my money.”

Heaven sat there with her mouth wide open. She had always heard that one of his exes had stolen from him but she didn’t know how much it was or that it was Tamar.

“Damn, that’s fucked up,” was all Heaven said. She couldn’t understand how anyone could do Zylen like that. He was so loving and caring.

“Yeah, it is. So that’s why I need you to know that I will never fuck up what we have for her or anyone else. You have given me the best thing that anyone has ever given me. You and Hydeia are my world,” Zylen said as he leaned over and kissed her softly on the lips. And to his surprise, she slipped her tongue inside his mouth hungrily.

  ******

The last six months had been like a dream to Heaven. She and Zylen were getting along so great and they were even expecting to have their dream wedding within the next six months. Heaven hadn’t seen Kim since the argument and Zylen hadn’t heard from Tamar since he walked out on her. But all that was about to change for the both of them.

Heaven had just got inside her front door from having a family day out with Zylen and Hydeia when she heard what sounded like gunshots. All that was on her mind was protecting her baby. She dived on the floor and crawled to the other side of the room with Hydeia crying in her arms.

“Oh my God…oh my God!” she said repeatedly as she cried along with Hydeia while saying a small prayer for her fiancé that was still outside when the gunplay began.

Once the shooting ceased Heaven peeked up to check her surroundings. Nothing seemed out of place so she checked her baby to make sure she was okay as she ran to the guest room downstairs. She laid Hydeia in her playpen that was stored in there before running outside to check on Zylen. But when she got out their Zylen was nowhere to be found.

“Oh my God…Zylen!” she yelled out as she ran to the other side of the car to check if he was there, but he wasn’t. Heaven ran to the end of the driveway in search of her man and sure enough Zylen was walking towards her with a gun in each hand and his shirt covered in blood.

“Oh my God, Zy!” Heaven said, meeting him halfway while watching their back in case the car came back.

“Where the fuck my baby at? You okay?” he asked with a deadly mug on his face.

“Yes, we’re good. Let me get her so we can go to the hospital,” Heaven said running inside. Hydeia was still screaming when Heaven picked her up. When she got back in the living room Zylen was pacing the floor with the phone to his ear.

“Nigga, somebody just did a drive-by at my crib while Heaven and Hydeia was inside,” he said to whoever on the phone. Heaven didn’t know who he was talking to or what they said but Zylen responded by saying, “I got the tag number. Round up the squad and meet me at the spot. Whoever it is just started a fucking war,” he said, hanging up.

Heaven didn’t want him going out doing anything stupid but right now he need to get to the hospital.

“Go pack y’all shit. Y’all not staying here tonight,” Zylen said as he walked to the blinds and peeked out, still holding one of the guns in his hand while the other one rested on the coffee table.

“No, I’m about to take you to the hospital,” Heaven back-talked.

“No, you not. You going up there and packing y’all shit,” he said.

The look on Zylen’s face let Heaven know he wasn’t playing with her. He was displaying a look that she had never seen before, so she slowly turned around and walked off. Once Zylen activated the alarm and made sure the doors were locked he headed upstairs as well. Taking off his shirt and examining his arm, he noticed the bullet when in and out his shoulder. With the help of Heaven, they cleaned his wound and wrapped it until he could make it to his personal doctor. The whole time neither one of them spoke a word. Once they were finished Heaven finished packing while Zylen paced around like a mad man when he wasn’t looking out the blinds. Heaven had never seen that side of him before.

Inside the car, she kept glancing over at Zylen, leaning over to the side looking as if he was in deep thought. Feeling Heaven staring at him he finally spoke.

“I’m taking y’all to a hotel,” he said, never taking his eyes off the road. He was frustrated and in serious need of a Blunt.

“Why do we have to go to a hotel? Why we can’t go to my mama house?” she asked him.

“Because I don’t know who the fuck that was or what their motive is. I want you and my baby safe.”

  “So fuck my mama, huh?”

“Did I say fuck your ma, Heaven?” he yelled at her. Heaven frowned and rolled her eyes at him as they were pulling up to the front entrance of the hotel. She jumped out and got Hydeia out without saying a word to him.

“Here and call me when you get inside.” He held up a roll of money. Heaven looked at him, shut the door, and began walking inside. Z
ylen watched her until she was no longer in sight before he drove off. He didn’t mean to yell at her but he had too much on his mind without her flipping his words, trying to make something out of nothing.

Zylen took out his cell to call up his li’l homie Dee. Dee was barely seventeen but was hell with a computer; that’s the only reason Zylen had him on his payroll. His only job was to give Zylen the information he needed whenever he called.

“Yo, I need you to find out who is the owner of a car for me,” Zylen said once Dee answered the phone.

“A’ight, run me the tag number,” Dee said. Zylen gave him the number and they ended the call.

While he was waiting for Dee to call him back a text came through. The ringtone let him know it was Heaven.

Heaven Sent: I know this is something you feel you have to do but please be careful…Hydeia and I love you and please return to us in one piece.

Zy: I love you too and kiss my baby girl for me.

Heaven Sent: Please don’t forget to get your shoulder checked. Love you!

As soon as he dropped his phone in the cup holder Dee called.

“Nigga, you will never guess who that tag is registered to!” Dee shouted so loud Zylen had to remove the phone from his ear.

Pulling up to the trap house and shutting off his engine, Zylen asked, “Da fuck you yelling for?”

  “Bruh, Jamal Thompson,” Dee announced.

Zylen looked at the phone confusedly. “Man, you sure?”

“Bruh, as a heart attack…either that nigga ain’t dead, somebody stole his identity, or it’s two of him,” Dee laughed.

“A’ight, ‘preciate that, folk. Hit me back with an address whenever you get one,” Zylen said, hanging up. What was really going on? The whole idea of Jamal possibly still being alive only made Zylen livider.

Zylen walked in the house angrier than before to deliver the news to his clique. Everyone was sitting around smoking and strapped up, ready for war.

“Yo nigga, about time you came. Did you find out who car it was?” Ali asked.

Striking up his own Blunt that was resting behind his ear, Zylen said, “I thought word on the street was that nigga Jamal died.”

“Yeah, that’s what everyone said. They shipped his body up north to his fam and shit,” Fred stated.

“Well I wonder what the fuck is going on because that car was registered to that nigga,” Zylen let them know. Everyone sat speechless.

“I’m fucking that nigga up on sight. Let’s roll.” And with that everyone loaded up their cars and burnt out with no particular destination.

  Chapter 13

‘Gotta man that I think I’m gon’ love forever…and forever we’ll be together. No matter where he goes I’ll be thinking of him…I’m gonna love him, I’m gonna love him.’

Heaven was awakened by the sound of Eve’s Gotta Man blasting from her phone, letting her know Zylen was calling.

“Hello,” she answered. She hadn’t seen him in damn near two weeks and was missing him like something serious.

  “What’s up, Heaven Sent?”

  Zylen sounded extremely exhausted.

“Zylen, why don’t you just come home. Your daughter and I haven’t seen you in two weeks. You’re out here in the streets trying to prove a point, and for what? Why don’t you just let the shit go, Zy? Please,” Heaven pleaded.

She was furious Zylen was still out looking for Jamal. She didn’t understand why he wouldn’t just let bygones be bygones. It wasn’t like anyone was seriously hurt when he did the drive-by. Plus she was tired of living in a hotel room and ready to sleep in her own bed.

“I know and I miss y’all so much. I promise I’ll be there soon,” he promised. That was something he had been doing a lot lately but failed to come through.

“Okay, Zylen,” Heaven said as Hydeia began to cry and it caused Zylen to smile.

“Kiss my baby girl for me and I love the both of you,” he said.

Heaven blew a frustrated breath. “We love you too, Zylen.”

“Okay baby, I gotta go.” And with that he hung up. He knew she was upset because she was calling him Zylen and not Zy.

Zylen had been living at one of his trap house but was missing his fiancée and daughter. Learning Jamal could possibly still be alive and was the one shooting at his house while his family was inside made Zylen angrier than ever. He wasn’t stopping until he had Jamal six feet under. The sound of his ringing phone brought him back to reality.

“Fuck you want, man?” he answered.

“Damn, I see you still on that fuck shit, huh?” Tamar spoke from the other end of the receiver. She hadn’t spoken to Zylen in a minute, thinking if she gave him some time he would come to his senses. But she was wrong.

“Nah, you the one that’s on that fuck shit. Where the rest of my money at?” He wasn’t hurting for it, but it was his and he wanted it back.

“Damn boo, I got you. You acting like that’s the only thing you want from me.”

“That is all I want! I keep telling you don’t call me until you have the rest of my cash.”

“Whatever…I heard your li’l fiancée was about to get her ass tapped by Kim. I thought they was cool. You know how they used to get down back in the days,” she laughed.

Zylen shook his head as if she could see him through the phone. “Nah, my girl was the only one that was gonna be doing all the ass tapping. Don’t get it twisted. You saw how she was about to tap your ass at the mall that time. Yeah, I heard about it. You know she’s the quiet one but you also know she’ll knock a bitch out if she have to. Wearing an ass whooping is one thing Heaven don’t do!” Now Zylen was the one that was laughing.

“Boy, your girl don’t want these problems and you know it.”

He smacked his lips. “Man whatever, what the fuck are you calling me for anyways, Ta? I do have shit to do, unlike you,” Zylen said irritated.

“Damn nigga, get out your feelings. Just call me when you have some free time. I want you to come fuck with me. Maybe we can go out for drinks or something.”

“That shit will never happen,” he said, hanging up in her face. Zylen felt Ali burning a hole in the side of his face so he turned to face him.

“What nigga?” Zylen asked, sparking the Blunt he had just rolled while on the phone with Tamar.

“So almost losing Heaven didn’t mean shit to you, huh? Because if it did you wouldn’t be still laughing and talking to Tamar like y’all the best of friends,” Ali said.

Zylen frowned and just stared at him for a minute. “Nigga, what in the fuck is you talking about?”

“You almost lost Heaven over the same chick you on the phone showing all 32 teeth with.”

“Nigga, get the fuck out my business, acting like a bitch and shit,” Zylen said.

“Nah, a nigga just trying to help you out,” Ali shot back.

“Well I don’t need you to help me out when it comes to my relationship. I can assure you that’s one thing you don’t have to worry about,” Zylen said, walking out the door, slamming it behind him.

He wasn’t mad at Ali at all. He was more angry at the fact that he has been in the streets searching for Jamal or the nigga that was responsible for the shooting only to come up empty hand. He decided to give it a rest for right now. Plus he was sexually frustrated. Zylen hadn’t seen or been intimate with his fiancée and he was in serious need of some pussy. Though he’d never had a problem getting pussy, he only desired Heaven’s.

  *******

Heaven felt Zylen climbing in bed behind her. Though he called to check on her and Hydeia every single day, it didn’t make up for him being absent from their lives.

“Glad you finally found some time to come see us,” Heaven said, turning to face him.

“Glad I did, too,” he joked and she nudged him. “I’m just playing, baby. You know I miss you and my li’l mama.”

  “And we missed you too.”

Zylen kissed her on the forehead and closed his eyes. “I love
you, my Heaven Sent.”

“I love you, too” Heaven said, snuggling closer to her fiancé. She always felt safe in Zylen’s arms and missed cuddling with him so much.

The next morning Heaven woke up to find the side Zylen slept on was empty. She thought she was dreaming until she heard Hydeia laughing followed by Zylen’s voice. Heaven went into the bathroom to get herself together before joining them in the living room. The hotel room was beautiful, like a small apartment. She stood at the doorway watching Zylen interact with their daughter.

“I miss this so much,” said Zylen as he patted the spot next to him for her to sit down.

“So do I,” she responded sadly, wanting to say more but thinking against it.

Heaven tried to talk Zylen into letting everything go but it would only go in one ear and out the other. Little did she know Zylen made up in his mind the night before to let the whole situation go, for the time being, and focus more on his family. He was planning on taking her looking for a new house, because there was no way he was letting his family go back to their old home.

“So what do you have planned for today?” Heaven asked.

“Spending time with you and baby girl,” he let her know. “Why?”

“Well I was hoping to get the hell up out this room. I been stuck in here for too damn long,” she said. Zylen only smiled as he got up to lay sleepy Hydeia down. When he went back into the living room area Heaven was already naked waiting for him. He licked his lips as he strolled over to her.

Once Zylen was standing directly in front of Heaven, she wasted no time removing his clothes. Just like Zylen, she too was sexually frustrated and was in serious need to be dicked down by her fiancé.

They kissed one another hungrily until Zylen pulled back and stared at her through narrowed eyes while biting down on his bottom lip, like he was searching for something in her eyes. “You missed me?” he finally asked.

“I sure did…and I’m gonna show you just how much,” Heaven smiled devilish, pushing him down on the couch. Once he was sitting down she dropped down to her knees and went to work pleasing her man. In no time Zylen’s toes began to curl.
