‘Because that’s the only way I can live through this.’ The tears threaten his eyes again. ‘I have to live in hope.’
I look at him for a long time. He has never felt more solid, more real, more alive, and neither have I. Never have I lived more in the moment than at this very moment. I am alive now, right now, and with the man I love.
