“Nay, I did not hear anything. Let us get some food for this new fella,” another warrior said.

Ryder could hear the sound of their footsteps fading to the other side of the stables. He stared into Allie’s eyes with intense focus as her body tightened around him. He moved one hand down, stroking his fingers over her clit in a circular motion, drawing forth her climax.

“Come then, Princess. Come for me.”

Allie opened her mouth in a silent scream underneath the palm of Ryder’s hand. He lowered his forehead to hers, and she could feel his cock swell and start to spurt his semen inside her, his hips jerking slightly.

They waited in silence, kissing and stroking one another while they waited for the swelling in his cock to go down. Occasionally they could hear the voices of the warriors in the stables drifting back to them.

Ryder cocked his head to the side as he stared down at her. “Not that I am complaining, but what brought this on, Princess? I know that my brothers satisfied your needs upon waking. Did you miss me so much you could not wait to have me, too?”

Allie looked into his glowing golden eyes and felt the hope and joy he felt pouring out of him through their bond. She knew that each of her mates loved to feel needed and wanted, and she always tried to show them that they were special to her. But this was different. It was difficult to explain exactly why she had felt an overwhelming desire to bond with each of them this morning without giving away her secret.

“I always want you, my love. And I will always need you.”

His arms tightened around her waist as he drew her to him. She felt safe and sheltered in his arms and pressed her face into his neck so she could breathe in his scent. Ryder stepped back, slowly pulling his cock out of her until he was free of her tight folds. He grinned at her blush when his release trickled from her pussy, spilling down onto the floor.

“It is amusing that we have done this countless times, and yet you still blush,” Ryder’s laughing voice said as it filled her head.

  “Shut up.”

Allie felt her dragon spirit stirring inside her and knew that the time had come.

“Will you come with me somewhere?”

“Anywhere,” Ryder responded instantly, warming her heart.

She closed her eyes and opened up the connections to her other mates. “Cael? Tynan? Can you meet me and Ryder at the Sun Circle? Please. It’s important.” They had renamed the challenge circle the Sun Circle shortly after Allie had put a ban on mating challenges.

“We shall be there as soon as possible,” Tynan and Cael replied.

Ryder grinned down at her. “Are you going to give me a ride?”

  * * * *

Allie’s dragon form landed in the center of the Sun Circle. She lowered one of her wings so Ryder could slide off her back.

“I love flying with you,” he said as he landed on the ground. “My brothers will be angry when they arrive. They saw us flying overhead and will be jealous that I got a ride with you and they did not.”

Allie laughed as her body shimmered and she changed back into her human form. “I’ve given all of you rides before. You’ve each gotten your turn.”

Allie stood in the center of the Sun Circle with Ryder at her side as they watched Cael and Ryder park their hover-cycles at the edge. The dismounted and quickly walked over to where she waited.

“What is it, love? Are you all right?” Cael asked as he hurried forward.

Allie smiled. “I’m fine. I know we are running late and you wanted to head out to the Forest Palace soon, but there are things I have to tell you that couldn’t wait.”

“What is it, little one?” Tynan growled, nerves making him edgy that something might be wrong with their mate that he didn’t know about.

“I’m fine, I promise.” Allie laughed. “Actually, there are two things I have to tell you.”

“Allie, you promised not to keep secrets from us anymore!” Tynan growled, his eyes narrowing.

“Well, since I just found out yesterday I don’t consider this keeping a secret from you.” She looked into the eyes of all three of her mates before placing her hands on her abdomen. “How do you feel about leaving your kingdom to twins instead of triplets?”

Tynan, Cael, and Ryder gawked at her, their eyes wide in surprise.

  “Twins?” Tynan choked out.

  “Yes, twins.”

Cael jerked forward a step so he could place a large hand on her stomach. “Our younglings rest here, inside of you?” At her nod, the most beautiful smile spread across his face. “Oh, Allison. Thank you for this gift.”

Ryder kissed her lips softly. “I cannot wait to meet our sons.”

“Well…” Allie hedged. “About that. We are having a son…and a daughter.”

The males froze. “But…that is not possible,” Ryder sputtered.

“It is.” Allie confirmed. “I went to see Lunaria yesterday, and she told me.”

“Never have I heard of a mixed-gender twin set being born before,” Cael said, his voice tight with emotion. “You are our miracle, Allison.”

Tynan reverently sunk to his knees before her and pressed his face to her stomach. “Do you hear me, little ones? Your papas love you so much. We cannot wait to hold you in our arms and show you your kingdom.”

“Will you have a problem with that?” Allie asked nervously as she stroked a loving hand through Tynan’s hair. “Letting a brother and sister rule together? Lunaria said that their bond would be different than yours, and that they would each have a separate set of mates that would help both of them rule over the kingdom someday but…”

“Allie,” Ryder said solemnly. “We would be honored to have a son and daughter to take over the ruling of our kingdom. Our twins shall be a beacon of hope for all Arcadians.”

Allie let out a relieved sigh. “I don’t have much experience with families, with being a mother. I hope I don’t screw this up.”

“You will be the best mother this world has ever seen,” Tynan whispered as he stood and pulled her into his embrace. She wrapped her arms around him, sinking into his comfort and love.

“I hope so,” Allie whispered fervently. She pulled back. “I love you all so much.”

“As we love you, Princess,” Ryder said.

“Okay, so about the second secret…”

Ryder’s eyes widened. “You mean the twins was not it? You have been hiding something else?”

“No! I wasn’t hiding it. I told you about this already. It only came to my attention today that it was time for the change.”

  “The change?” Tynan asked, confused.

Allie smiled at her mates. “Yes, the change. Your dragon spirits are ready to allow you to change. That is why I brought you here. The magic in the Sun Circle will help you call forth your dragon forms.” If the news of their babies had shocked them, then this absolutely floored them.

  “What…?”

  “But…?”

  “How…?”

Allie laughed. “Close your eyes.” She frowned at them as they continued to stare at her in astonishment. “Close them! Now feel the energy moving under your skin? You have been aware of your shifter forms before, but this time give yourselves over to it completely. You will still be you, only more.”

Tynan closed his eyes and looked into himself. He could feel the rush of power surge through him as lights bursts behind his eyelids. His body seemed to twist in agony as he let the change come forth, and he heard his own cry echoed by that of his brothers.

“Relax,” Allie said. “Please just try to relax and let it happen. Don’t fight it.”

Tynan focused on his mate’s words, letting the soothing sound of her sweet voice take away the pain as he tried to do as she asked. When he finally let go of his control, he felt the magic flowing into him, taking the pain with it.

He felt the ancient power of the dragon spirit merging with his soul so they became one. Suddenly, he felt everything. He was one with the land that he was born in,
and he felt the ties that had bound him to his kingdom in ways he could not have imagined. He had felt the connection that his Allie had with the world when she shifted to her dragon form, but to feel it for himself was…simply amazing.

When he opened his eyes, he saw through those of his beast form. His head swiveled to the side to see two other large dark-bronze dragons standing in the circle with him. He turned to the right as saw his mate, his love smiling back at him.

  “Allie?”

“Yes, my love,” Allie said. “How do you feel?”

  “Fantastic!”

“Aye,” Cael confirmed. “This is amazing!”

“I know you shared this with us through our bond, but this is beyond anything I ever imagined,” Ryder said.

Allie nodded. “So now you know everything. Earlier today I felt a need to blood bond with you again. It was like a hunger, and I didn’t understand until my dragon spirit told me that you and I have exchanged enough blood so that the magic in mine had infused your body with enough for you to make the change.”

Tynan lifted his head and spewed out a stream of fire that lit up the sky. His deep laughter boomed out, echoing over the land as he flapped his wings, his joy apparent.

Allie stepped back and shifted into her own dragon form. Her dragon was slightly smaller than the males, her body lighter in color as the iridescent scales shimmered from pearly white to a deep golden bronze.

“Why do your scales shimmer, love?” Tynan asked as Cael’s dragon head rubbed affectionately against Allie’s.

“That’s because I have more magic than you,” Allie said then laughed as her mates grumbled. “Now, see? Since we can fly, we won’t be late for the celebration tonight.”

“Can you imagine the look on Dominic and Ronan’s faces when we show up?” Ryder laughed.

“Shall we race?” Cael asked as he flapped his wings, stirring the air around them.

Allie spread her own wings and launched herself into the sky. “Last one there doesn’t get to sleep with me tonight!”

Her voice trailed back to her mates, who quickly launched themselves after her. None of the males wanted to be the last to arrive, not if it meant sleeping alone. As the four dragons flew off, a ray of sunlight pierced through the clouds, striking down on the Sun Circle. What once was smooth sandstone now showed an intricate pattern of four dragons carved into the stone.

Yes, there was magic there, waiting for the next of the chosen to come.

  The change had begun.
