  “Hello, boys,” Lily announced, drawing two pairs of eyes to herself.

  “Hey, I didn’t know you were coming over,” Connor smiled. “You want some breakfast?”

  “Is this…?” he asked, turning to Lily.

  “Alison’s hard drive? It sure is,” she beamed in response, hands on her hips.

  “How did you pull this off?” Connor asked, picking the thing up and turning it around in his hand.

  After everything that had gone down in Shifter Grove, she had been determined to repay the brothers. Not only for pretty much taking her spying on them in stride, but also for the small favor of saving her life.

  Now, she could finally deliver. The amazed joy in their face was worth every second of her tracking Alison, day and night, for the last month or so.

  Sleeping in her car and eating fast food had not been her idea of a good time, but it wasn’t anything she wasn’t used to or that she wasn’t willing to do for Connor and Crash. Alison’s little sex tape had been hanging over their heads for long enough, and now it was finally over.

  “I didn’t even think that she had done this to other people. And so extensively,” Crash said, shaking his head.

  “Most of them were already more than tired of paying her off, and were willing to take a chance on me. So I dropped the stealthy approach. The next couple of weeks after talking to the other guys I made a point of letting her see me. I was everywhere she turned.

  “She tried to confront me a couple of times, but I just drove off. I could tell I was getting to her. When I was reasonably sure she was at wit’s end, I went and knocked at her door. You should have seen her face,” Lily grinned.

  “I bet,” Crash agreed, chuckling to himself.

  “You are a lot scarier than I thought,” Connor clucked his tongue.

  “A reminder for you to never get on my bad side,” she joked. “Anyway, after I showed her that I had the contacts of all of the men she was blackmailing on my phone, she let me in. I threatened her with a class action lawsuit if she didn’t hand over everything she had.”

  “That couldn’t have gone over well,” Crash remarked.

  “I also might have said I would make her life a living hell if she didn’t agree,” Lily mentioned casually. “Anyway, after she thought it over, and I reminded her that the people she was fucking with had considerable funds for top-notch lawyers and if she went up against them she’d lose everything, she was a lot more amiable.

  “It didn’t take that much convincing after that for her to hand over her hard drive and any backups she had.”

  What Lily left out was that she had already broken into Alison’s apartment before confronting her, to make sure Alison didn’t have anything hidden away somewhere. That was more than a little illegal, and the twins didn’t need to know exactly the lengths she had gone to.

  “You didn’t even breathe a word of any of this to us,” Connor commented, astounded. “We thought you were still doing research or something.”

  “I didn’t want to say anything before it was all settled and done with. And now it is,” Lily shrugged.

  She barely got a breath in when she was suddenly enveloped in a double bear hug, squished between two very grateful shifters.

  In that moment, everything seemed perfect. Alison was no longer a problem. Wyatt and Miles were behind bars, awaiting trial. The team was slowly but surely healing from their assistant coach’s betrayal.

  One thing hadn’t worked out, though. The game they were supposed to have played in Shifter Grove with the Shovelers had been cancelled in the ensuing media frenzy. The press caught on to the scandal at the Predators’ training camp in record time.

  Kidnapping and attempted murder was a pretty big deal, especially in a small town like Shifter Grove. There was no way what happened could have remained secret. But as Connor and Crash had said, they would get their chance to face off against the Shovelers sooner or later.

  “Lily, there’s something we have been meaning to talk to you about,” Connor said, pulling away from the hug. “And this seems like the perfect time.”

  Crash nodded, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear and sending a warm little shiver down her spine.

  “I think we should move in together,” Connor blurted out, stilling to watch for her reaction.

  Lily was momentarily stunned. Everything seemed to be going so fast all of the sudden. She had never even lived with anyone before.

  “Like… all of us?” she stuttered, not knowing what else to say.

  “Why not? We’re already a triad, by all accounts. We already spend most of our nights here at Connor’s house,” Crash replied.

  “And there’s plenty of space, so we can all have our own corners of the house to retreat to when we get sick of each other,” Connor added with a grin.

  “I’ll never get sick of you,” she argued.

  “Great. Then you’re in?” Crash asked, studying her hopefully with those green clear eyes of his.

  Lily had to take a second to think about this. She had barely accepted that she was now part of a relationship that involved three people, and that it was somehow totally normal in shifter circles. Human society on the other hand…

  Their arrangement wasn’t exactly the norm when it came to humans.

  But Lily also knew she had never been happier. She felt whole when she was with the brothers, on a level she couldn’t even describe. It just felt right. And she was done making decisions based on fear. If she was happy, why should she care what other people might think?

  Her new family, consisting of Eddie, Graham, Aiden, Sal and Ben certainly didn’t even blink an eye at her relationship with Connor and Crash, so there was that. And when had the opinions of strangers ever really affected Lily’s decisions about her life?

  It was time to put the doubts and suspicions that came with being a private investigator aside, and believe in the two people she now knew she could always be sure of – the men that could get her heart beating fast with just a look, Crash and Connor.
