This Was Meant To Be: BWWM Romance

“Emily,” he started as he looked at her. “I don’t think you are ready for…” She turned around and looked at him. She was shaking her head.
“Don’t you dare tell me that I am not ready for…whatever the hell it is you are hiding from me. I am not a child,” she said.
“I know that you are not a child, Emily. I never said that or even insinuated that you were one,” Alex said as he looked at her.
“Then, what?” she asked almost angrily. “What is so bad that you don’t trust me enough to show me?” The tone in her voice was working him up as well. He took a long deep breath. He had never thought that he would have such a hard time explaining himself to anyone. But then again, Emily wasn’t just anyone to him. She had always held a special part in his heart, more special than he had ever thought possible. He looked at her long and hard, dying to tell her that the real reason was he couldn’t totally dominate her before she allowed it. He didn’t want to see her tears. And he didn’t want to take her unless she was sure that was what she really wanted. She had been looking at him for a long time before she finally walked out of the room leaving him standing in the kitchen with nothing to say. All he could do was sigh in desperation.
“How am I supposed to talk to her about this? How can I make her understand without hurting her?”
There was no telling how she would handle it. How she would look at him after that. After all, Emily was not just some submissive he had picked up at some dungeon. This was the woman he loved. The one woman who had him, most might say, by the balls. She was his Achilles’ heel and he didn’t know if she knew it yet. He couldn’t bear to lose her. That’s the last thing he wanted. He put his hands on the counter and sighed loudly.
Every single time he had gone the whole nine yards with a submissive, something in him grew. Something in him, a dark passenger seemed to get more in touch with him, bigger even. It was like the dominance in him was feeding his appetite. And that was not all. The last time he had been with a submissive, he had ended up with a less than likely situation, one that he would have wanted to avoid. The woman would follow him everywhere he went…hell, she was his stalker. It was not that he didn’t mind having a submissive, it was that he didn’t want to put Emily through all that…
When Alex first met Dianne Fowler at a charity event in New York, he would have never thought that she was the kind to be a submissive. She was a CEO of a Fortune 500 company. A classy woman in every sense of the word. The first time he saw her, he could almost get a whiff of her authority. She was in a tight black over the knee pencil skirt and a turquoise green sleeveless blouse that she had tucked into her skirt. She had long red hair that was pulled back into a loose bun and she had matched the whole look with a pair of shockingly expensive red bottomed black suede platform heels. There was a beautiful pearl necklace around her neck and a matching pair of earrings. The red lips she had were enough to make every man get a stiff neck from staring at her for so long. He had just put down his details on the donation when Diane walked up to him.
“That is pretty generous of you,” she said when she saw the figure he had put down.
“I’m not very sure people are supposed to know who’s donated how much,” he smiled.
“That’s kind of impossible since your name is right next to your donation, Mr. Brewer,” Diane smiled as she looked at him.
“I suppose you’re right,” he shrugged with a smile. He looked at her and raised an eyebrow. “But I am at a disadvantage here. You know my name but I don’t know yours.”
She took a step forward and stretched out her hand.
“Diane Fowler,” she said as she looked into his eyes. “Coral Incorporated,” she added as he shook her hand.
“Alexander Brewer.”
“Let me guess, Brewer Enterprises,” she said with a smile.
“Right you are,” he took a sip of his champagne. She took a long sip from her champagne glass as she looked at him. “Did I miss something?”
“No, I was just wondering what it would take to have you come back to my hotel room,” she said.
Alex was surprised. She was pretty darn forward even for a woman who knew what she wanted.
“Now why would I want to come back to your hotel room? Why not my hotel room?” he asked.
“All I want to know is whether I can have you, Mr. Brewer. That’s all I ask,” she said before she took another sip of her wine.
Alex forced out a laugh.
“One, no one ever has me. I have them,” he started. “And two, out of all the men in this gala, why would you pick me?” he tapped his index finger against the side of the glass and she stroked her cheek lightly.
“Because you are a public figure, Alex Brewer and I know for a fact that you are a single man unlike the rest of the people here,” she said as she looked around the crowded room. “Most of the men here, rich as they are, have wives at home and a whole lot of mistresses on the side and even though I am not looking for anything serious, I would hate for my public affairs to be made public knowledge when some floozy bimbo takes a bat to my car.”
“Yeah that has been known to happen to a number of people in this place,” he smiled as he looked around. He could almost point out seven out of the first ten people that he had personal knowledge of their mistresses. “But still, that doesn’t explain why you would want me specifically?” he said again.
She looked at him from head to toe before she looked into his eyes again.
“You have a perfectly enticing bulge in your pants. One that leaves little to the imagination.” She took a step forward. She was now standing so close to him he could have grabbed her if he wanted to. “It has been driving me crazy ever since I first saw you in Napa Valley.”
“Napa Valley?” he frowned and she nodded.
“A mutual friend had a tasting for a new wine he was launching. A Sauvignon Blanc…good stuff he had,” she said before she put her glass on one of the waiter’s trays as he walked by. He took one last sip before he looked around for a waiter so that he could follow suit. As soon as he got rid of his glass, he reached into his inside coat pocket and pulled out a key card and handed it to her.
“What’s this?” she asked as she looked at the card.
“That’s the key to my suite,” he said.
“I thought we were going to be going to my room.” she said as she looked into his eyes.
“Well, to be honest, I have certain things that I kind of like doing when I fuck and my room is sound proof. I doubt yours is,” he said and she shook her head. “Well, then. Bring a change of clothes,” he said before he turned around and walked out leaving her stunned.
He didn’t know why but as he got into his car, he could almost feel the arousal she had been talking about. He already had a semi hard on going on. She had gotten to him and she knew it but he was going to make her pay for it. When he got back to his hotel room, he took off his jacket and grabbed his essentials from his closet. What Diane Fowler didn’t know was that this was not going to be just another one night stand. That it was going to be so much more. He poured himself a glass of scotch and loosened his tie before he took a seat facing the door. He had just taken but a few sips when the front door opened. He looked up to see Diane Fowler. She looked at him as she let the bag she had in her hands drop to the floor.
“Well, I guess when you want something you go after it with all you’ve got,” he said as she slowly walked up to where he was. He took a sip of his drink as she slowly began taking off her jacket. She was about to take off her shoes when he shook his head. “Keep them on,” he commanded.
She looked at him and began unzipping her skirt as she walked towards him. She put her hands on his knees and looked into his eyes. She leaned forward to kiss him but he turned his head, making her lips land on his cheek. She pulled away and looked into his eyes.
“What? Not a fan of kissing?” she asked.
“I don’t kiss, ever.”
“Not even when you make love?”
He put his glass down on stood up.
“I never make love,” he said before he grabbed her blouse and pulled it apart. She gasped when he tore the blouse from her. “I just fuck, Ms. Fowler,” he added as he swept her off her feet, getting her on his shoulder. He carried her to the bed and cuffed her to the bedposts. She looked up at him and then looked around the room. This was no ordinary hotel room. The cuffs on the bed were actually permanent. And the open closet displayed all the whips and paddles Alex had. Diane suddenly understood what he meant when he said that his suite was sound proofed. “If you want to back out, now would be the time,” he said as he came back to the bed with a whip.
“Not a chance,” she said.
He suddenly struck her skirt covered thighs.
“For the next few hours, I own you. I am your master and you must address me as such.”
“Yes master,” she said in a whisper. “You can do anything you want with me master. My body is your canvas.”
“That’s more like it,” a smile played on his lips before he went ahead and pulled down her skirt. He then tore away her panties and cuffed her ankles to the bed. She was now laying spread eagle on the bed looking deliciously inviting. She was breathing hard as he slowly ran the whip across the surface of her skin. She looked up at him as he brought down the whip on her again and again and again. Soon, she was moaning and crying out, her skin was flushed a bright crimson. He loved the fact that she had given him the creative freedom to do as he wanted. And he was going to. He took a nice medium sized plug and wedged it up her ass. She was much more receptive than he had expected and he was loving it. When he finally looked down at her, she looked perfect. He had a plug up her ass, a big vibrating dildo inside her, her nipples clamped and a ball gag in place. She was the perfect muse and she was taking everything he was giving her like a champ. He undid her ball gag and looked at her.
“You better not cum, slave,” he said as he undid his zipper.
“Yes sir,” she said before he stuffed his cock into her mouth.
Even though the evening had been magically perfect, the one thing Alex didn’t know was that Diane Fowler was not going to be just a one night stand. After that encounter, she would always show up in whatever state he was in. The fact that she had almost as much money as he did didn’t help because for her getting her company’s private plane to wherever Alex was, was never a problem. But after the first four or five times everything got old. He was no longer having fun. All he had ever wanted to do was fuck but now Diane had something different in mind. She had even thrown the word ‘love’ around a few times. But he had no way of knowing what that felt like. The only two women he had loved were Emily and the girlfriend he had lost in college and he had lost them both. But even then, he couldn’t bring himself to understand what was going on with Diane…
Diane Fowler was one of the four women Alex had ever had as a submissive who had a truly high tolerance for pain but at the same time, she was also the reason he had chosen not to go all out with Emily. He could not risk losing Emily not after waiting this long to get her back in his life. He slowly made his way to the bedroom. Emily was taking a shower in the bathroom. He took off his pants and stepped into the bathroom. She turned around to face him as the water ran down their bodies.
“Before you make your decision, I want to show you what you are in for,” he said.
“Right now?” she asked in a whisper.
“Tomorrow night,” he said as he pulled her into his arms. “When you see that, and if you still want to be mine, then I will do whatever you want.”
Chapter 5
Emily could not help but watch April as she slowly arranged the potatoes the two of them had been peeling earlier in a baking tin. She was doing it with so much precision that Emily was in awe. If she had been the one baking, there was a very god chance that she could have thrown all the ingredients together rather than carefully arranging them.
“Wouldn’t it just be easier to get everything in there all at once?” she asked as April carefully layered the diced butternut on the potatoes.
“Lucky for you that Alex is a whiz in the kitchen otherwise the two of you would be eating garbage for all I care,” she said.
“You can’t blame me for asking a question,” she said.
April pointed to her iPad screen.
“See that? That’s a recipe I’m following,” she said as she sprinkled thinly diced garlic on the potatoes and butternut.
“Okay, if you’re following a recipe then how come the recipe in here has two whole cloves while you have...what do they call that anyway? Diced? Minced?” she asked.
“Look at you getting all the culinary lingo right?” April smiled.
“Don’t try to change the topic,” she said rolling her eyes.
April began to carefully place zucchini pieces in the baking tin.
“I’m not…I just like flavor. That’s all,” she said before she stuck the tin in the oven. Emily looked at the sausage in a bowl sitting on the counter.
“Ahem…haven’t you forgotten something?” she asked.
April looked at her iPad and shook her head.
“I don’t think so. Why? Is there something you feel I should have done before I put it in the oven?” she asked as she turned her attention to her cousin.
“Well, since the recipe reads potatoes and Italian sausage, I was kind of wondering why the Italian sausage is still here,” Emily said.
April grabbed two glasses from the dish rack and poured them some wine.
“That goes in later,” she said as she handed her a glass. “Trust me, I got this.”
Emily smiled and raised her glass.
“So long as I don’t have a microwave dinner, I’m all good,” she said before she took a long sip. “And by the way, I do have a few culinary tricks up my sleeve.”
April raised her glass to her lips trying to hide the fact that she was smiling.
“I can see that smile there, April. You can just bring it out already,” Emily said and April could no longer hide it. She started smiling but suddenly laughed. “Really? I thought it was just a smile,” Emily said.
April shook her head and dabbed the sides of her mouth.
“I’m sorry sweetie. It’s just that the only thing I am sure I can trust you with in the kitchen is beef stew,” she said.
Emily rolled her eyes. April was right. But there was also the occasional spaghetti and….spaghetti.
“Screw you,” she said before she took a sip of her wine.
April nodded. She was not about to engage Emily, not in this.
“So, did you finally tell Mr. Right about what you really feel for him?” she asked.
Emily sighed and shook her head.
“I tried…that day we talked about it. I was on the phone and…” she never got a chance to finish the sentence.
“You wanted to tell him that you loved him over the phone?” she asked as she looked at her cousin, surprised.
“What people do it all the time,” Emily said matter of factly.
“Yes but not the first time you don’t. Unless you are in the army and you are million miles away from each other of course.” April looked at Emily as she took another sip of her wine. It was then that April saw it. The true reason her cousin was holding out. It had nothing to do with the fact that she was afraid of what she was feeling for Alex. She was afraid of reliving her past. She was afraid of rewriting history…
The day was as fresh on April’s mind as if it had just happened. Emily had been excited to go out with Deacon that day. She had even bought a new dress and done her hair. It was like Christmas morning on that cold November morning.
“Today’s the day. I’m going to tell him today,” she said as she looked at April that day.
“But honey, are you sure about this? You and Deacon have been together for almost four months. Don’t you feel like you are rushing things a little too much?” April asked.
Emily looked at h
er and shook her head. It had been a while but the relationship had not been conventional as most people called it. She only saw him once every two weeks, sometimes once a month. But the short time she had spent with him, she had fallen in love with him and fallen hard. That was how Emily saw everything. But April saw things in a whole new perspective.
All she saw was a man using expensive jewelry to blind a poor girl from what was really going on: that he was actually just using her for…whatever reason. April didn’t have a lot of people to call family and she would hate to have the only person she cared about get hurt.
“There is no big deal April. It’s just what I feel,” Emily said in a low voice.
“I still think things are going a little too fast,” she said.
“It’s my relationship, April. I am making this decision about my life.”
That was the last time in a long time, April saw Emily happy because that evening when she saw Deacon and poured her heart put to him, he had broken her heart, spat and stamped on it. Deacon Myer as he had told Emily was not his real name. He was actually Samson Marks and he was married with two kids. Emily for him, was just a palette cleanser. It took almost an entire year before Emily could even trust herself to go out in public again. She almost didn’t pass her internship period because of the depression she was going through. And even after so many years, the name Deacon had stuck. And after him she never allowed anyone to get close, not the way Deacon had been. She had the occasional man over but for nothing more than sexual purposes.
For April, it seemed to have been forever before she saw Emily smile again. She took a long sip of her wine and looked into Emily’s eyes.
