  *Edward M. Cohen (1928–2008); SP’s correspondent from Chicago, Illinois. Cohen and SP corresponded from 1950 until 1954 and met during SP’s spring vacations in 1951 and 1952. There are very few letters from SP to Cohen. The few there are may have been typed by Cohen and sent to SP while he retained the originals. One of Cohen’s wives destroyed SP’s letters. There are many letters from Cohen to SP held by Lilly Library.
