Sidone (The Hordesmen Book 3)

The Omega is fast and capable. He rented an apartment on the top floor, and since this is a smaller hotel than the ones I’ve seen in New York, the entire top floor is only two apartments, one of which is vacant and should remain vacant for the duration of my stay. I make a sweep of the layout, checking for cameras and similar intrusive tech. Luckily for the owners, the place is clean. It also doesn’t reek of lavender or other air fresheners that humans find pleasant and I find overbearing. It’s a nice place, and the room’s yellow, beige, and brown décor calms me.

The shower water hitting the tiles tells me the Omega takes care of his hygiene. In the living room, across from a brown leather couch, I sit on a beige sofa tucked neatly into the alcove by the window. The endless Pacific brings color into the room. Today, the sea is more restless than usual, and it reminds me of Ohala, a city on the Red Sea of Regha. I never thought I’d enjoy the beach, but spending time inside the Horde stronghold in Ohala proved me wrong.

I miss Regha. I miss my brother Vemlox. I miss duties, challenges, and even my crazy sisters-in-law. But I can’t leave a mission incomplete. Mr. VP will face me once again and for the last time. It will be on my terms, not his. It will be just the way I imagined it. Him on his knees, facing my justice. Once I complete the mission, I can rest, perhaps take an Omega, perhaps resign myself to a life of solitude, occasionally visiting Regha’s capital for a Beta male who wouldn’t know what to do with me if I hit him over the head with clues. Though with Loven retired, there should be no shortage of general amusement in Ohala, the Regha Horde stronghold.

I smell him before he steps into the living room. Apple-scented shampoo with a hint of peppermint, the scent is mild and not obtrusive to my nose.

“Hey,” the Omega says gently, as if afraid he’ll startle me.

I snort, bend a leg at the knee, and rest my elbow on it. One look his way makes me wish I hadn’t brought him along. Or did he bring me? I can’t be sure. Destiny works in mysterious ways. All those years ago, I was the first Reghan to have crossed the space gate and walk the Earth. Destiny put me in the path of Mr. VP, and it will place me right back on it, but this time, I will be his roadblock. At the thought of beheading Mr. VP, I smile, surveying the body of a pretty human man wrapped in a towel that hangs low on his hips.

He walks behind the bar, effectively obstructing my view. His biceps flex as he opens the cupboards in the bar and small kitchen, then purses his pretty plush lips.

I stand and remove three knives from one boot, two from the other. I release the hard iron sticks holding up my hair, uncoil the thin whip I wear as a necklace, and release the leather bindings around my wrists, double-checking that I haven’t lost the tiny poison arrows I keep stashed there. Four. Should be five of those. Probably lost one as I jumped on the tree. I remember scraping my right wrist.

Under my armpit, I check for the gunshot wound. My armor took a hit, and I have a bruise to show for it. That’s fine. It’ll heal soon. Barefoot, I proceed to the kitchen, where the Omega leans on the counter, sipping a beer.

I check the fridge and find a tray with miniature servings of nuts and dried fruit and a thing I can’t identify.

  “Are you hungry?” he asks.

I nod and leave the kitchen, then find a menu and fling it at the Omega. He scrambles, nearly dropping his beer, but catches the menu against his chest.

“Nice catch,” I compliment him. “You have excellent reflexes.” I smile and sit back by the window. “I’ll have everything you can find on the menu that can be served raw.”

“My truck is full of groceries.”

  I frown. “So?”

“I’ll cook you something.” He taps the counter. “Right here.”

And so it begins. The Omega way of courting, similar to female Omega nesting. This Omega wants to feed me, then fuck me. “I eat raw food. No need for cooking.”

“Prep, then. I’ll prep something. Got seafood in the truck. If I don’t drag it up here, it’ll go bad.” He comes around the bar and picks up an ottoman, puts it right next to my sofa, and sits. He leans his elbows on his knees. “I’ll prep for you, then I’ll be prepping you.”

His pupils dilate, and I scent his seed as it spills out of the tiny opening on top of his dick. My pussy flutters, my breasts grow heavy, and I consciously suppress my arousal. I have a shooter on the loose, and I gave myself two days to catch him. I can’t spare any more time on diversions. And I certainly can’t go into heat. Though, this Omega is determined to send me into one. “Back off, Omega. You don’t want to send me into heat.”

His eyes widen as his arousal wets the towel.

He’s displaying his dynamic for me.

“You go into heat?” he asks. “That sounds wonderful.”

In a swift move, I grab his throat and balls. He yelps, mouth open, heaving breaths. I smell the freshness of peppermint toothpaste. I squeeze both his throat and balls at the same time. The Omega groans, and his eyes flutter, then snap open.

“You’re toying with me,” I say, “thinking you can flirt with me as you would flirt with a girl at a bar or maybe a grocery store. I am not a girl. I am not even a woman. Unless you intend to breed me, get dressed and get the fuck out of my way. I do not have time for boys, or games, or miscommunication. I do what I want and how I want it done. We can either breed and bond for life, or you can stop the little games and get back to the house. Clear?” I release his throat.

The Omega rubs it and moves to stand. I got him by the balls, and, standing, I pull him up. To meet his eyes now, I’m a tiny bit annoyed to realize I have to look up. I squeeze his balls tighter. This has to hurt him, but all he does is groan.

“How about,” he says, “I feed you and get you drunk so you can lose the stick up your ass.” He brushes a thumb again my lower lip, and my body ignites. I grit my teeth. The Omega continues, “You don’t scare me, Alpha. If anything, you make me want to spread your legs and eat you until you scream for mercy.”

“You think you can make me scream for mercy?”

  “I can.”

  “Is that so?”

He smirks. “Sit back and watch me do it.”

  “Don’t boss me, boy.”

  “I am not a boy.”

I step back, hands on my hips. “Feed me. While you’re cooking, think about how you can be an asset. For example, trade that big gun for a smaller gun.”

“It’s called a rifle, female, and I got a small gun.”

I brush past him. “Hope that’s not the size of the gun between your legs.” Chuckling, I close the bedroom door, lean against it, and blow out a breath. What the hell am I doing? He has no armor, no training, nothing that’ll prepare him for combat. And yet, he’s sticking with me. I can see the determination in his eyes. I gotta get the shooter before my heat hits. Already, I feel the burn in my belly.

  Chapter 3

  Kade

The Regha female eats all the food I prepped. I’m not surprised. Feeding the Collectors at the ex-mayor’s house afforded me an opportunity to test out all sorts of dishes, flavors, and styles before I figured out Regha people are so much easier to please than humans. They need fresh food, which gets tricky sometimes as I’m forced to rise at the crack of dawn and get out to the fish market to get the best catch, but compared to Melanie and the majority of her guests, Hordesmen are easily pleased. Besides, having learned the art of preparing those Betaren cookies, I’m indispensable to their happiness. Terror’s words, not mine.

Sidone cleans her plate and glances at the kitchen. “Is there more?”

“There might be cake in a few hours. If the hotel lets me use their kitchen.”

She wipes her mouth. “You’re an excellent cook.”

  “I know.” I wink.

  She picks up the plates.

I snatch them from her hands. “At your service. Full service.” My dick is spurting cum every few minutes. When I’m this close to her, I can smell her. She smells like sex, and I need her to impale herself on my dic
k already and put me out of my misery. She seems unfazed, though I know she can scent my arousal. The cum wets my jeans, and the Alpha looks down, a smirk on her face.

“I suggest you prepare the nest,” she says.

  “A what?”

  “A nest. The bed.”

“This is a hotel. The bed is made.”

She tsks. “Perhaps you prefer I take you on the floor.”

“Baby, you can take me on the floor, the table, over the couch, against the wall, out on the balcony—”

She raises a hand, palm up. I lick her palm, then press it against my chest, letting it trail over my abdomen. Sidone steps closer, and her scent hits me. My brain stops working, and I grab her and sit her on the table, my mouth everywhere at once. I don’t know if I wanna kiss her mouth, face, neck, or just eat her pussy right out of the gate.

  But she knows.

She grabs a fistful of my hair and yanks my head back. Shit. I suppress a scream, and groan instead, my dick spurting cum, wetting the front of my jeans even more. She holds me that way and unsnaps my fly. Thank you, Lord. My dick springs up, eager to please. A claw traces the skin of my balls, up my dick’s length, and taps my piercing. “My, my, my, lookie here. You know what I regret?”

I grunt. Somehow, I can tell she’s not actually asking me anything.

“I regret,” she continues, “not getting a nice nine-inch-long makeshift dick I can strap on and fuck the little hole in your ass.”

What the fuck? “I don’t regret that at all.”

Sidone chuckles. “You will. When my heat hits, and it will hit soon, you’ll wish I used you any way and even in ways you can’t imagine. That’s okay. I can be creative. And seeing as I haven’t had an Omega before, you’ll be my first.” She fists her hand over my hard dick and pumps. Once, twice, three times. My body convulses, my eyes roll back, my balls draw up, and in one swift move, she’s behind me, hand in my hair jerking my body back, the hand on my dick gone. I groan, and pain slices across my belly as the orgasm ceases. But then she bends me over the table, kicks my legs apart, and grabs my dick from below.

She releases my hair, claws trailing down my back, leaving goose bumps in their wake. She squeezes my ass and spanks it. I groan, my dick in her hand twitching, cum likely dripping all over the floor. She spanks me again, then grabs some of my cum and trails it over my balls and to my ass, where she lubricates it. I tense and clear my throat.

Sidone’s hands are gone and she rounds the table, then lifts my chin so she can stare me down. “Dear chef, prepare something cold, long, thick, and preferably smooth for your ass, because I will have it.”

No words come out of my mouth. No woman has ever said anything like this to me. I’m not sure what to say, other than “Yes, Alpha.”

“And also, either stay here and nest or come with me.”

  “I’m coming.”

She pecks my lips. “Not without permission.”

  Hot damn.

For the rest of the day, Sidone sits by the window, occasionally glancing toward the kitchen, where I prep the rest of the food. I’ve no idea how long we’ll be staying here, so I prep for at least one week for her and a few days for me. She told me that if we are to mate, it could take several days, and that all the prep needs to be done before the heat hits. According to Sidone, staying undercover is of utmost importance, and nobody should know we’re here, including the Hordesmen.

Apparently, her brother, the king, would lose his mind if he knew Sidone wants to take an Omega in an unsecured human territory. She’s supposed to take me to Regha and mate me there in some castle. I’m unsure if I can meet her mating standards, but I’m sure I don’t want the king to hate me for not taking care of his sister. Though I’m a bit disappointed I won’t get to visit another planet, mating an Alpha female sounds great no matter where I am.

As for being undercover, I pointed out we used the prince’s credit card, which can be tracked. She says Dreikx would never betray her location and others don’t know how to track with tech.

My body buzzes with sexual energy. The erection is a constant burden as I keep moving around the kitchen and hitting my dick against the counter. Women don’t have this problem. When they’re aroused, nobody knows. Men are a bit more obvious. I’m trying not to feel like a bull who just got let out of the pen and into a pasture with females in heat, but it’s a bit tough not to face facts. I want to breed her. The urge grows with each hour, my brain barely functioning at other levels.

Sidone says a male Omega is as rare as an Alpha female. If they should ever meet, it is a duty not to waste Omega seed or a female egg. This all sounds like breeding, a week-long fuckathon after which we’d go our separate ways. Something I’m not really made for. Most people think guys go out and fuck whatever pussy is available. And while some do, not all. I’d rather have a meaningful relationship, than stick it in and out, then part ways. My body has never responded to a woman this way.

Finished, I place the prepped food in the fridge and walk to the living room. Sidone isn’t there. “Hey, where you at?” I proceed to the bedroom, entertaining images of a naked Sidone. She’s busty, I can tell, though the corset compresses her breasts and hides them or maybe gets them out of her way as she goes out slaying whomever she dislikes. I have a feeling it’s the latter.

An empty bedroom greets me. I check the bathroom. Nobody. Back in the living room, I realize all the weapons are gone too. Fuck.

  Chapter 4

  Sidone

Sitting around and waiting for the enemy to show up isn’t my style. My brother Vemlox scouted for the Horde. He’s got the patience for it. I don’t. We all work from our strengths, and mine is active pursuit. Trouble is, I’ve pursued Mr. VP for many years over many different states and countries, even traveled as far as Brazil for a single sighting of him. He’s wearing me out, and he probably knows it.

To avoid tackling the Omega in the kitchen, I left for the roof. He’s a sweet one, with a body that makes my womb burn in anticipation. The daylight is almost waning on the horizon, and I watch the sun descending. All the naughty humans come out to play at night. I bet the one on the motorbike will too. Where will he go? He must report somewhere to someone.

A lone man with a plan can only be a hired killer, a professional assassin. He failed a mission. If I failed a mission, I’d have to answer to my employer, namely my king, and beg for a second chance. He may or may not give me one. Because I’m a female and his sister, I’d get as many chances as I like. Tayseer sent me to Earth first, after all. That’s the mission I failed, and I have to live with it for the rest of my life. I offered the human powers peace. They refused. But I could’ve done more. Had I managed to convince the president to accept our peace offering, we never would’ve invaded and lost so many people, both Reghan and human alike.

I never secured peace or came to an agreement with the Earthlings. I fell into their trap. They captured me, tortured me, and, when they couldn’t get information from me, they froze my body and placed it in stasis, where my mind, unfortunately, never stopped. I stood still for many years before Loven’s face appeared before me and he cracked the confines of my prison.

My mind’s healing process has been long and hard. Some spans, I return to the stasis cell of my own free will. For both myself and Dreikx, who stood in his own cryocell across from me, breaking the mental chains the humans placed on us will take a long time. But we shall persevere. One span, maybe we can forgive ourselves for failing the mission.

On my belly, I lie on the roof, watching the angry Pacific throw itself onto the shore. A lone yacht battles the waves. The sun descends. White birds, whose names I forget, fly in looking for food at the restaurant downstairs. A few humans walk down the beach. It’s all so serene and peaceful that I wanna pull out my hair. Rest makes me more restless. I need things to do. Idle existence isn’t for warriors like me.

  A click sounds.

I crouch, body taut and ready for battle. The wind in my favor blows
the Omega’s scent toward me. I lie back down and continue watching the sea. The heavy black boots he wears crunch the gravel.

  “You’re loud,” I say.

He groans and lies on his belly beside me.

I glance at him. And I shouldn’t have. His pretty green eyes and flirty smile catch my attention and hold it for longer than necessary.

“I thought you bailed on me,” he says.

“I can’t sit in confined spaces for long.”

  “You got claustrophobia or something?”

The translator scrambles, but I identify the word on my own. Dreikx mentioned it to me. He read it somewhere. “Something like that,” I say.

Kade props his head on his hands and joins me in silence. We watch the yacht approach the shore and stop. It rocks on the angry sea. A male with a star tattoo around his right eye appears at the deck. I vault upright, ready to climb down the front of the hotel and strangle the life out of him or it or whatever those abominations are.

Kade grips my ankle. “Get down,” he whisper-hisses. “He’ll see you.”

  “That’s the point.”

“No, no, the point is to sit tight and see what happens. Come on.”

I stare down at the Omega. I can’t act as if I’m on my own when I’m not on my own. I have to think of the Omega, and his needs and protection. I lie down again and decide I have to get rid of the Omega or I’ll never complete this mission. It’s gonna drag on for years like the Mr. VP one. Memories of what my enemy repeated daily assault me.

  You failed a mission, soldier.

  Nobody is coming for you.

  I’ve got you now, female.

Tell me about that special gate. Where does it lead to? What’s on the other side? Who are your people?

A man dressed in a flowery shirt, beige shorts with big full pockets, and flip-flops makes his way to the small docking station and hops onto the boat. It's the shooter. He takes the boat to the yacht. As he approaches, women in various states of undress emerge on the deck. I glare at the Omega. “You’ll lose an eye,” stumbles out of my mouth.
