I dig both directness and intenseness, intensely

  12:40am

  Alexander Armstrong

See, that's exactly it. I hesitated to say it, but you are here. The body is a tangential matter. It's...more, and present. Some things aren't bound by geography or distance. Who are you Claire? Because I really want to know. That's rhetorical for now. But I get the impression that I could listen to a lifetime of your tales and remain thirsty for more.

  12:48am

  Claire Nichole Eden

And I am trying to fathom how it is possible that you actually exist

but so far I've got nothin

  Where did you come from

and how did we even happen on one another in this strange world

  12:50am

  Alexander Armstrong

I keep wondering the same thing. I came from this little town I live in now. After long journeys.

  12:50am

  Claire Nichole Eden

............... Would you possibly care to one day chat via phone, or is that too presumptuous?

  12:51am

  Alexander Armstrong

I'd love to chat with you in any way you lowered yourself to permit.

  12:52am

  Claire Nichole Eden

I'm sorry I couldn't really hear you.... did you say something about us chatting as I lower myself onto you?

  ;)

  12:52am

  Alexander Armstrong

  LOL :)

If you lower yourself onto me, there would be screams, not chat.

  12:53am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA

  sans doubte

  12:54am

  Alexander Armstrong

Je t'adore. You are one of a kind.

  12:54am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Tu tambien

But I am feeling selfish keeping you up so late, stealing so much of your time all for myself at this late hour

And as such, am reticent to continue our parlance tonight

  12:55am

  Alexander Armstrong

  Selfish?

That's a little like the sun feeling badly about shining on the earth.

  12:56am

  Claire Nichole Eden

So then, shine on, luscious Alexander

  12:57am

  Alexander Armstrong

Just as you wrote that, the sparrows have begun waking here.

No, hon, YOU are the sun.

  12:58am

  Claire Nichole Eden

Not so sure about that. I don't think the sun giggles, as I am doing

  12:59am

  Alexander Armstrong

Hehehehe. I'm sporting a rather goofy large grin myself. And thank you for that.

  12:59am

  Claire Nichole Eden

When should we confab by phone?

  1:00am

  Alexander Armstrong

  When would you like to?

  1:01am

  Claire Nichole Eden

I’d LIKE to now........ but I must be up in about 5 hours and don't want to be rushed....... then again........ I'd love to hear your voice........

  1:01am

  Alexander Armstrong

  You have me swirling tonight.

  1:02am

  Claire Nichole Eden

You have me swirling and churning in all sorts of places

  1:02am

  Alexander Armstrong

I'm feeling the same. Let's delay till we can speak at length. I have the feeling I won't want to let you hang up.

  1:03am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh delicious agonizing suspense

  1:03am

  Alexander Armstrong

  Appetite grows stronger with delay.

  1:04am

  Claire Nichole Eden

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm well I am already feeling frightfully ravenous for you

  1:04am

  Alexander Armstrong

The things you do to me, Miss Claire.

  1:05am

  Claire Nichole Eden

The things I WANT to do to you, Monsieur Alexander

  1:05am

  Alexander Armstrong

And ravenous for you, I'm already savoring every drop of you.

  1:06am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  May i speak plainly?

  1:06am

  Alexander Armstrong

  Of course. Always.

Okay, this is it. I’m just gonna tell him. If he thinks I’m a freak then at least I can boast the best night of my life. Cuz that’s what this has been. This man has made me feel more by typing to me than I have ever felt in a lover’s hands. And for that I am profoundly grateful.

  1:07am

  Claire Nichole Eden

In the last 24 hours your messages have given me approx 15 full body orgasms........ My abs actually feel like they have had a workout from the involuntary convulsions.... hee :D

  1:08am

  Alexander Armstrong

Oh my! Imagine what the real deal, in the flesh, might do!

  1:08am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  I fear spontaneous combustion!

  1:09am

  Alexander Armstrong

I welcome spontaneous combustion. Ignite me!

  1:11am

  Claire Nichole Eden

I am trying to get my mind off of my most female of body parts which are pulsing and swelling at the thought of you

  1:12am

  Alexander Armstrong

Well, what I suggest is imagining wet breath on your inner thigh, and the feel of soft lips on your body. Always works for me.

  1:12am

  Claire Nichole Eden

Hahahahhahahahah yep, works for me too

........... I am dying to talk to you

Should we go for a quickie?

  or wait

  and suffer

  1:13am

  Alexander Armstrong

Sometimes it's better to exhaust the immediate pangs of desire. To be satiated.

  Wait and suffer.

  1:14am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Heehee brat

Any chance of you simply saying goodnight by phone tonight?

  1:20am

  Alexander Armstrong

Of course we could say goodnight on the phone tonight. But I'd rather not. I'm going to want to speak with you for a long time. And sometimes a taste of honey is worse than none at all. I can give you a goodnight kiss, if you like.

  1:21am

  Claire Nichole Eden

Then I shall withhold my honey........ and revel in your kiss

  1:24am

  Alexander Armstrong

  Withhold? Say it ain’t so!

  So...the kiss.

  1:25am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Oooooooooooooooooooooooh yes the kiss :D

  1:26am

  Alexander Armstrong

Imagine me three feet in front of you.

  1:26am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........ yes?

  1:26am

  Alexander Armstrong

I stand facing you, exploring your eyes.

  1:26am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Sigh

  1:27am

  Alexander Armstrong

I hold you there, your eyes in mine, and we wander to faraway places without moving an inch.

  1:27am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Starting to have trouble breathing

  1:27am

  Alexander Armstrong

And as we see each other, our bodies begin to lean, to long.

  1:28am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Mmmmm hmmmmmmmmmm

  1:28am

  Alexander Armstrong

No words, no sound, no sight, just us, drawn, attracted, gravity

1:29am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Magnetic pull

  1:29am

  Alexander Armstrong

I step toward you, and you toward me. And take your cheeks in my hands, and draw your mouth to mine, as our eyes begin to close

  1:30am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Quiver

  1:30am

  Alexander Armstrong

And time goes freeze-frame, almost stopped, as we near

  1:30am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Closer

  1:30am

  Alexander Armstrong

And lips, relaxed, and soft, and perfectly willing, meet, and... fireworks.

  1:31am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  And melt

  1:31am

  Alexander Armstrong

And the sweet salt taste of flesh on flesh

  1:31am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Oh yum

  1:31am

  Alexander Armstrong

The hug of one lip around another

The brush of bodies, eager to press

  1:32am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  ‘Tis heavenly

  1:33am

  Alexander Armstrong

Then, lips begin to lift, slow and tenuous, inviting

  And a playful tongue explores

  1:33am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Yes

  and..........

  1:34am

  Alexander Armstrong

And the perfect intimate dance, of two tongues, two mouths, two bodies, all absent, all exactly present, the perfect focus of passion, in the tips of tongues

  1:35am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Perfection

  1:35am

  Alexander Armstrong

A hand wrapped in the back of your hair, drawing your mouth tight as passion grows

  1:35am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Oh God

just when i thought this conversation was safe

  1:35am

  Alexander Armstrong

Another hand around your waist, grinding you into me

  1:36am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Whimper

  18

  1:36am

  Alexander Armstrong

And that, my Lady, is all that a gentleman would dare on a first date.

  LMAO 18 :)

  1:37am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  Too laid waste to respond

  Thank you

  for

  ...........everything

and for sharing yourself with me

  can't wait for the morrow

  Guten nacht sweet prince

  1:39am

  Alexander Armstrong

Then rest well, and sweet sweet dreams. You thrill me, Miss Claire. More....and more. I can't wait for the morrow either. Damn. Too much. In all the very best ways.

  1:40am

  Claire Nichole Eden

Dream of beautiful things, my dear

  ♥

  1:41am

  Alexander Armstrong

Good night my Lady. Lay your sweet head on my chest, hear the pounding of my heart, feel my arms wrapped around, and let my pulse sing you to sleep.

  1:41am

  Claire Nichole Eden

  I already am

  Mwah!

  1:42am

  Alexander Armstrong

I used to know beautiful things. Now I know you. And the rest seems paler and tepid. Mwah!

  ♥

I close the laptop and recline to sleep and I know. I know my life will never be the same.

Chapter SeventeenIt’s Christmas. At least that’s what it feels like. Despite getting to bed so late, I’m up with the birds and mine are none too pleased about it. This is their time to enjoy some quiet preening and cooing, but my bouncing about and happy-dancing my way through the morning is messing with their zen. I am elated, no two ways about it. The first thing I do is grab my laptop and take it with me into the kitchen, determined not to miss a moment of onscreen time. As my browser pages load, I search my pantry for the perfect coffee beans to grind this morning. Peet’s Major Dickason's Blend seems to suit my mood perfectly. The parakeets stare blankly, mildly outraged at the early morning racket I’m making.

The remaining members of the menagerie waken, stretch, and make their way into the kitchen, with an ‘if you can’t beat her, join her in the kitchen and beg for food’ attitude. Oh, why is my Facebook page taking so long to load? Clearly my computer is not a morning person. During the interminable wait, I scan my iPhone and find just what I’m looking for: Abba songs, covered by Erasure. You can’t get much bouncier than that! I turn on my stereo receiver, press play on my phone and slide the volume up...way up.

Murphy’s Law threatens to rain on my parade as my browser freezes and I have to reboot. Grrrrrrrrrr! The good news is that the tech glitch gives me an excuse to do more dancing and even to add singing to my act. I bebop around the kitchen, pour a mug of jo, drop a sugar cube in, stir, and top off with TJ’s cream. Then I place a bit of sweet butter and some raspberry jam on a plate, and reverently unwrap a carefully preserved butter croissant, making a point to dole out pet food throughout the process. The parakeets have voted on a new course of action and instead of offering their disdain, they decide to play backup singers to Erasure frontman, Andy Bell.

Feigning patience, I sweetly cajole my computer to behave. I have a long history of conversing with inanimate objects, and an admirable track record of getting broken things to function. My laptop succumbs to my sweet talk and charm, and in seconds I am back online. And it looks like I have a little something from Alex awaiting me. Squeeee!

I beam at the mere thought of hearing from him. Heck, he could copy and paste pages from the federal tax code in a message to me and I would find it hot. I try to take a bite of croissant and a sip of coffee but find it difficult to do, grinning as I am from ear to ear.

  1:37am

  Alexander Armstrong

I often fall asleep listening to music, and this song just came up in the rotation. Somehow it seems to suit you...us. Sound in general and voices in particular leave a permanent impression on me. I'll tell you about it sometime, but know that I long to hear the smile in your voice and the light in your laughter. Sweet dreams, Cariña. Catch you on the other side.

I pause the music and click the link sent by Alex. It’s a song I love and apparently the menagerie does too! I pull my beloved Daphne into my arms for a stellar Dancing with the Stars duet performance as Rome sings “Lay Me Down.” Who knew turtles could lead so well? The song over, I am anxious to engage Alex, and my fingers start tapping keys faster than I can think.

  5:12am

  Claire Nichole Eden

I am proverbially pinching myself, wondering if I did indeed actually spend a few perfect moments in Elysium with you last night, or was it just a flight of sublime fantasy? Buon giorno, luscious man. Thank you, thank you for the song. It’s a favorite of mine! But I am betting you somehow guessed that. And I salivate at the thought of learning about your eclectic musical tastes

I can’t wait to hear back from him. It’s 8:30 in the morning his time, so I feel confident of a speedy response. Chances are he hasn’t even gone to bed yet.

  * * *

The speedy response doesn’t come, and I find myself agitated and unable to work. This is not good, these extreme ups and downs. My sun rises and falls by this guy, a guy I’ve been chatting with online for all of a day. Get a grip, Claire.

I decide to take a bike ride to clear my head.

  I fail.

All I think about the whole time is Alex and I’m so distracted that I wipe out on my bike. Once home, I limp to the kitchen to clean off the blood that is drying on my knee. My pup, Persephone, is determined to play nurse and Jasper just looks at me smugly, as if I’d received my just desserts. Hmmmmph, then
you will just have to do without dessert tonight, I think in retaliation.

I put the kettle on, fully aware that tea cures nearly all ills. Today’s choice is Cream Irish Breakfast from Empress Tea Co. My new lease on life has included some adventurousness when it comes to tea. I am currently working my way through the Empress catalogue, which turns out to be much better for my waistline than my sojourn through the Ben & Jerry’s menu.

I tuck my laptop under one arm, and once I have my teacup firmly in hand, I hobble into the sunroom, my knee stiffening from the little bike accident, and other limbs complaining of aches and pains even though they weren’t really involved. I open my laptop and find a comfortable position to sit in. Drat! I left the Chocolate McVitie’s on the counter. But oh my, it looks like I have something better to feast on – a missive from Alex.

  3:01pm

  Alexander Armstrong

Greetings, Lady Claire. I'm delighted that it wasn't me alone in Elysium, and that you were there with me, where you led me. Sublime? Assuredly. Fantasy? Not in the least. I fell asleep at 11am. And I'll now get a couple more hours of rest. But I saw your letter and could never refuse your call. I've been considering your poem. Rolling you around in my mind and waiting for words with courage enough to dare to adorn you. I'll dwell on you while I slip back into dreams, tumble your graces in my heart's arms and listen for the song you sing from me. It is my fondest wish that you'll bless me with your presence later this evening, when I awaken.

Feel muscular arms around you, one high, the other in the graceful curve of the small of your back. Feel our bodies pulled tightly together with gentle strength, close enough that neither of us remembers where the one begins and the other ends. Feel moist, warm breath on your neck, where I've buried my face in your hair. Feel a soft lingering kiss on your honeyed skin there, just to the side of your throat. Feel. And I'll see you in my dreams.
