  ‘I thought you'd know something like that,' Dad said.

  ‘You only get green and yellow ones in the wild. Never blue.' He put his hand into the cage and the blue budgerigar immediately hopped onto his finger. He looked at Dad. ‘They're beautiful. I think they're more beautiful than Harpy Eagles,' he said.

  ‘Those ugly birds!' Dad said. ‘I could tell you what I think of Harpy Eagles.'

  But Mum wouldn't let him. Instead they all sat on the sofa and ate chocolates and Will told them again about Mr Sheringham and his wet face, and Miss Strickland's whirring and shouting, until Timothy came round and asked if Will could come and be the first to play on his new Playstation.
