Dirty as Hell (Studs in Scrubs Book 2)

The kiss lasted until she was breathless, but he made no move to push things further, or to touch her.
“Lie down,” he demanded.
All she managed was a quick nod as she did as he instructed, crawling into bed and leaning against the plush fabric headboard. He switched on the lamp. Seconds passed and she wondered if he’d join her, and then he took several steps toward the bed as his eyes absorbed her in a tight invisible embrace. Her inner thighs quivered and her blood filled with an unspoken need. Still, he made no move to join her.
“What are you waiting for?” she asked.
One corner of his mouth popped up. “In due time, my love. For now, I have a surprise for you.” The combination of his warm stare and his husky voice made her heart skip several beats.
“A surprise?” Memories of his surprises made her smile. He’d said those very words the first time he’d slipped his hand inside of her skirt and caressed her. She’d come undone almost immediately and looked forward to one of those surprises now.
The faint knocking on the front door made her breath hitch. She blinked. “Are you expecting someone?”
“Yes. Be patient. Don’t move.”
She watched him step out of the room. A part of her wanted to defy his request and peek down the steep staircase to see who interrupted them, but another part of her decided to wait and see. Mumbled voices were heard and they became louder as the guest and her husband climbed the stairs. With a surprised gasp, she hurried and dragged the comforter over her naked body and anticipated who would be stepping into the room.
A beautiful blonde with big brown eyes and an hour-glass shape entered beside Bridge. Jenn swallowed against the sudden construction in her throat. Of all the wild sex she and Bridge had over the years, not once had he asked or suggested to bring in a third lover. And now, all she could do was stare in disbelief at the lovely woman with the contagious smile.
“Hi. I’m Bella.” If her looks weren’t attractive enough, her sultry accent drove home the seduction.
Jenn gave her head a shake then dropped her feet to the side of the bed as anger danced its way down her spine.
“Well, Bella, this isn’t going to happen,” Jenn muttered and stood, dragging the cover along with her.
“What’s not going to happen?” The sliver of humor in Bridge’s voice made Jenn’s muscles cramp and the anger take on a new life.
She sent him a narrowed expression and stomped toward the bathroom, managing only three feet before his hand was on her elbow. “You’ve misunderstood, sweetheart.”
Finding his gaze, she blinked. “Oh, have I? You asked me to undress and then you bring in a beautiful woman?” She flipped a gaze beyond his shoulder. The blonde was still standing by the door, a curious expression on her perfectly bone structured face.
His grin had stepped up into laughter. She tried jerking away, but he held her. “Getting naked is what I understand happens when a photographer takes pictures of a pregnant mother. If you object you can wear clothing. Although, I think you’re beautiful.”
Humiliation traveled slowly from her cheeks and into her neck. “Oh, for heaven’s sake. You should have told me.” So, the large bag Bella held wasn’t a purse but instead was a camera case.
“Well, that was part of the surprise.” He leaned in and whispered next to her ear, “Sweetheart, as much as I’ve fantasized about you and another woman, I’m not too ashamed to admit that I want you only for myself. Your sweet whimpers and seductive moves belong only to me.”
The warmth dripped into her core. “I-I didn’t know…”
His smile made her toes curl. “I wanted a professional to capture your beauty.” He placed his hand on her rounded stomach. I’ve asked her to come back each month, and after the baby is born too.”

Rubbing his palm down his face, Bridge sat at his desk in his condo office, waiting for Jenn to finish dinner. The savory scents made his mouth water, but mainly the thought of being near his wife made him salivate more. He was starving to be close to her, although he’d made a promise to himself that they wouldn’t have sex, not unless she realized he didn’t want her only for primal need. Hell, he had no clue how he’d manage to follow through, but his intentions were good.
She popped around the corner of the open door wearing only bra and panties. “Please come and have a seat on the sofa.”
Then she sashayed away.
He smiled. There was never a dull moment with her.
Closing up his laptop and dragging off his reading glasses, he pushed away from his desk and made his way into the living room. Jenn was standing in the center, one hip tilted and a smile that made him instantly hard. Why did she have to be so damn sexy? The lingerie she wore was made to bring a man to his knees. The baby bump was more noticeable and he only grew more excited.
“Have a seat,” she demanded.
He smiled. “As you wish.”
Once seated, she swayed her way to him and picked up the sheer scarf from the coffee table. “We’re going to play a little game.”
“A game?” He lifted a brow.
“Trust me.”
“No problem.”
She placed the scarf on his eyes, tying it at the back of his head. “Can you see?”
“No.”
“You wouldn’t lie, would you?”
“No.”
Hearing the tinking of a plate and utensils, then feeling the brushing of her knees against his made his throat constrict in excitement. “Open your mouth,” she demanded. She situated her legs between his, her knees brushing his aching crotch. There went the plans for no sex. “I promised to show you food porn.”
With only a minor hesitation because he’d rather see her, he did as she wished and was rewarded with a forkful of delicious tasting filet mignon. “That’s good,” he said once he swallowed.
“I followed the recipe.”
Then came a bite of lemony asparagus. The profile flavors scintillated his taste buds. “I think you might have become a better cook since you left.”
“I have a few tricks up my sleeve.”
“Oh, I bet you do.”
After eating everything she stuck into his mouth, he heard the fork hit the plate. “Now for dessert.”
“I can’t wait to see what you cooked up special.”
Her touch came on his knees as she walked her fingers upward on his thighs in a leisure pace. She gave him a push back against the couch at the same time her breath swept across his neck. “Sit back and enjoy,” she whispered.
His cock was hard before she even managed to loosen his pants. Something about the tempting seduction in her tone and movement sent excitement through his body at record speed.
Her fingers slipped inside of his boxers and tugged them down, freeing his erection from the cotton constraint. There was a slight drop in temperature, but her fingers wrapping around his shaft instantly warmed him. Her warm breath brushed his throbbing tip and he shivered, anticipating what would come next. Damn, he couldn’t think logically, but slightly remembered sex was barred…
A cool, fluffy feeling came at his head and he jerked. “What the hell is that?” he groaned.
“Topping on my treat,” she purred. “Non-dairy for no sick private parts.”
“That’s good. I don’t think I’ve ever had a sick dick.” He laughed, but sobered the second she rolled her tongue around the head of his cock.
She stroked the slit with her lips. His balls tightened and he gripped the edge of the cushion, his ass sinking into the leather as he lifted his hips.
For heaven’s sake! She had him by the balls…literally. His brain was on a roller coaster of feeling, rocking in an insane need. He should tell her no, have strength to deny this, but he didn’t want to push her away. He already needed release and, even if his life depended on stopping, he wasn’t sure he could. “Remember who initiated this, darling,” his words were on the tail of a moan.
“Are we keeping count now?” she sai
d around his cock. He reached for her, rubbing his fingers along the plump mounds of her full breasts that the bra didn’t cover.
Without her permission, he grabbed the scarf from his eyes and dropped it to the side. Her smiled oozed of naughtiness. The little tease. Her head bobbed on his shaft and he kept his gaze on her face, her sunken in cheeks and glazed eyes. A spot of whipped cream lingered on her bottom lip. Fuck!
A growl escaped his tight lips as he grabbed the clasp of her bra and practically tore the wispy material from her beautiful breasts. Her moan vibrated his cock while he flicked his thumb over one pert, swollen nipple. Her silky hair spilled over his thighs, weakening him even more. He felt her tremble around his shaft.
Bridge clenched his teeth, holding on to the invisible restraints, but feeling them break away, link by fucking link. “My God! This is delicious!” His words came out in a croaked voice.
She looked up with a naughty expression, a playful grin pulling up the corner of her lips, but she didn’t lose a beat. Her mouth came down on him taking as much of him as possible in her sweet, delectable mouth.
“I. Cant. Hold it.”
Her head tilted and he slipped from between her lips, slapping against his stomach. Strings of semen shot up, splashing his abs and chest. The strands appeared snow white against the backdrop of his olive skin. He almost came again when she bent and licked up one drop of his release.
“Son of a bitch!” His jaw was as hard as steel as he watched her dine on his cream.
“That was the best dessert I could come up with.” She winked and swiped the back of her hand across her lips.
He laughed. God help him! She was a whimsical treat that kept him reeling.

“I thought that was you.”
Hearing the female’s voice, Jenn looked up from the baby bed she was perusing and scanned the store until she saw the familiar face standing by the door. Gripping the rail, Jenn swore she heard the wood crack—much like her heart had when she read the note. Stepping back, she grabbed her off shoulder bag in need of something to hold onto so she didn’t wrap her fingers around the other woman’s neck.
Jenn had no idea she still held so many bitter feelings toward Eliza the woman who she accused of sleeping with Bridge. The beauty had the audacity to smile as if they were old friends. Jenn’s fingers itched to come off her purse and slap the smile right off the woman’s luscious, puffy lips.
Jealousy wasn’t what made her spine tingle, but something primal—something she didn’t experience when she’d found the note in her husband’s pocket by mere accident. The written words had insinuated something had happened and Jenn didn’t have any fight left in her. Now, her internal badass reared up for battle.
“You’re looking very…” Eliza rolled her almond shaped eyes from Jenn’s face to the tip of her toes, to come back up and linger on the obvious baby bump, “pregnant.”
“Yes, I am.”
There was a slight hesitation as the woman smirked. “Congratulations. I just hope there’s no hard feelings.”
Be the bigger person. Be the bigger person. Be the bigger person. The mantra healed some of the anger. “Life continues and we must move on.” That was all Jenn could give the other woman.
“I know Bridge seems very excited about the baby.”
Jenn winced. “I-I didn’t know Bridge had spoken to you about the baby.” She also had no clue the two were on speaking terms, but reminded herself that there must be a good reason for him to speak to Eliza after he said he wouldn’t.
Her chuckle seeped through Jenn’s skin like an acid cocktail.
“I-I…well, he didn’t tell you?”
“Tell me?” She felt sick.
“That we’re working together. He hired me last year when he expanded his practice.”
Jenn smiled, far from what she was feeling inside. “Oh, that’s wonderful news.”
Eliza peeked at her watch. “I must be on my way. Again, I’m happy for you and Bridge .”
Jenn stood in the same spot, frozen to the floor until the saleswoman stepped over. “Can I help you find anything?”
Forcing her mind back on track and a smile she wasn’t feeling, Jenn turned. “Yes, a sponge to wipe up the garbage that woman just spewed.”
“Excuse me?” The young woman blinked in confusion.
Leaving the store without a purchase, Jenn walked the short distance to the condo, her heart in her throat. She wasn’t sure why she was bothered until she sat down on the sofa and then it struck her why she was upset. Bridge hadn’t considered her feelings.
*****
When a man loved a woman, his instincts were hard-wired to her emotions, and just as soon as he stepped off the condo elevator, Bridge knew his life was about to take a turn.
Jenn was sitting on the sofa with a blank expression. When she lifted her chin to look at him, he could see the dullness in her eyes.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
She licked her lips. “I-I did some shopping today.”
Bridge took a seat on the coffee table, close to her. “Spend too much money?” He laughed, but when she didn’t crack a smile, his humor sobered quickly.
Her chest rose as she drew in a deep breath. “I ran into someone.”
“The devil?” He shot up a brow.
“Oh, this person certainly conjures the demons.”
Her cold stare made his balls shrink. “Are you going to tell me?”
“Eliza.”
He could have heard a pin drop. “Jenn…”
The shake of her head sealed his lips. “Let’s not beat around the bush. I’m sure she’ll tell you that she saw me.”
He sat down on the coffee table and leaned his elbows on his knees. “Maybe. Maybe not. It’s not what you’re thinking.”
“Oh? Just what am I thinking, Bridge?” The area between her brows scrunched.
“That she and I are an item. That we have been an item all along and that’s not the case. We’re not best buddies.”
“Best buddies?” She smirked. “Is that what they call lovers these days?”
“Jenn, don’t do this.”
“Don’t do what? Pretend you didn’t hire someone who ruined our marriage? I guess this is convenient.”
He sat straight, shaking his head. “Eliza didn’t ruin our marriage. You and I ruined our relationship.”
Her laugh made his throat constrict. “I guess you’re right about that. You and I did destroy what we had by not communicating. Remember how you mentioned that yourself a few days ago? How important communication is? Wow. You did great communicating the fact that she and you are colleagues. Do you realize how stunned I was when she told me? It was like getting knocked to the ground without expecting it.”
“I’ve told you that Eliza and I were never lovers…”
“You’re missing the point. Maybe you kept your fly closed, but you certainly didn’t keep your mouth shut.”
“I never wanted to sleep with her.”
“Are you sure? Can you be honest about your feelings?”
He swiped his palms down his face. “I lost my head with her for five seconds one evening long ago, but I knew I couldn’t go through with it.”
“So why not just hire her and keep the temptation close.”
“There isn’t a temptation. If there was, I wouldn’t have put myself in that position. You have to believe me.”
“Can’t you see that she is in love with you? I suspected that long before I found the note she’d written to you all but begging that you leave me and come to her.”
“The past needs to rest…”
“Did you even think for a minute how this would look? Maybe that’s what hurts most.” Her voice was thick with unshed tears. She closed her eyes, visibly gathering herself. When she opened her lids, the moisture was gone. “You didn’t take that into consideration, did you?”
“There hasn’t been a day that has gone by when I didn’t consider you and your feelings. Yo
u left and for months you wouldn’t say more than two words to me. You asked for a divorce and honestly, I couldn’t fathom, at that time, that things would take a drastic turn and we’d be here. Don’t use Eliza as a hurdle when she isn’t. I hired her because she is one of the best OBs and I want that for my patients. Not for my bed. You accuse me of being a playboy when I couldn’t close my eyes without seeing your face, let alone take someone to bed knowing I’d only be fantasizing that it was you who I was holding. Stop finding every excuse to pull away.”
“Are you thinking I’m looking for excuses to feel the way I do?”
He gave a small shrug. “If the shoe fits.”
“Maybe if you would have been talking to me more, spending more time with me after the accident, instead of sharing your every emotion with Eliza, we wouldn’t be having this discussion now. It’s possible I would have never left in the first place. There’s a possibility that you were with her the night of the accident.”
He swallowed hard and his shoulders slumped. She jumped up from the sofa, staring him down. “You were, weren’t you?” her voice didn’t even sound like it came from her.
“We were together, but not the way you want to believe. She and I were with a patient who needed both of us.”
“Figures.”
“Go ahead and blame me, but we both know the last thing you wanted was for me to be near you, let alone have a conversation with you after our son died.”
“Every time I looked at you, all I could see was my own guilt.”
“Now we’re getting to the real issue.” He stood. “The guilt. If you’re not willing to cut off the weights from your ankles, you’re going to drown in a puddle of your own doing. I wanted to save you, but no one can do that but you.”
Silence blanketed them for what seemed like ages, and finally she walked to the window. He noticed how her shoulders were lifted as if she wanted to keep a false bravo. When she finally turned back, her eyes were glossy. “I can’t promise that I’ll ever be able to get over the guilt or the anger I have. This is the reason why I left before. Not Eliza, although I was hurt. I want to be rid of the pain, but then it rears its head.”
