“You think?”
“Probably.”
“But you won’t,” he said.
“Won’t what? Retire or use that money to retire?”
“Either. Slice it however you choose. It’s not you.”
“You think you know me, don’t you?”
“I do know you… and that brings me to an idea.”
“What idea?”
“How to use some of that money for something good,” he said.
“Besides my retirement?”
“Yeah, besides that.”
“Do I want to hear about this?”
“You do.”
“So, what’s the idea? What scheme have you devised in that devious brain of yours?”
“How about a few million set aside in a trust fund for Laurel Storm Shelton,” he said.
“Is that a question?”
“A suggestion for someone like you who could easily make such a thing happen.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
“Yeah. I think a good one. She has the capacity to do some extraordinary things, you know. Good skills and some good character traits,” Rosey said.
“Character traits still developing, I’d say. Money can’t guarantee good character.”
“But it can pay for quality education which could move her character in a positive direction.”
“Yeah, it can do that. And a single parent raising a child can be costly these days.”
“What would you know about the cost of raising a child?” he said.
“I read a lot.”
