Her Dragon's Fire

He leaned forward, palming her breasts, teasing her nipples with thumbs and forefingers until they grew longer and harder. Grace threw her head back, pushing her breasts farther into his hands. As he felt his release racing to its end, his need for her to cum one more time before he filled her with his seed overtook him. He reached between them using his thumb to rub circles over her clit. She squeezed him tighter and tighter. He ground his teeth together, driving his mate higher until she was screaming her release, milking his cock with such force he thought the top of his head would surely fly right off.

Aidan kept up his sensual assault, pushing into her harder and faster. He slid his hands down her legs, placed his hands behind both her knees and lifted her legs, changing the angle, driving him even deeper. His balls drew tight against his body; his cock grew thicker and harder filling his mate completely.

“Look at me, mo ghra’,” Aidan ordered with his limited breath.

Grace’s eyes snapped to his. He rolled his hips, bumped the bundle of nerves at the top of her channel and together they exploded, screaming each other’s name. He felt the earth move as he emptied into his mate.

Aidan let her legs slide down his arms as he leaned over her sweat slicked, orgasm relaxed body and kissed her lips, slowly and tenderly, as her breathing returned to normal.

“I really hate that you can regulate your breathing so quickly. Will I be able to do that someday too?” she asked in the breathy tones of a well loved woman.

“I’m sure over time, but I must admit, I like you out of breath and completely replete from our lovemaking. It is something I live for.”

“If I had the strength I’d punch you in the arm, but I can’t even feel my arms.” She chuckled a throaty chuckle that he knew only came after she had screamed her release to the heavens.

“Let’s have a bath, my love. What do you say?” he asked as he lifted her into her arms and was rewarded with a purr as she curled into his chest.

“Sounds wonderful,” she whispered into his chest.

He had made it to the third step when Rayne’s voice sounded in his head, “The baby’s coming and Kyndel wants you both here.”

There would be no leisurely bath followed by more lovemaking tonight. There was a baby to welcome into the world.

  EPILOGUE

  Seven months later

He had just gotten back from spending the weekend with his clan. Everyone had been there, even Aidan and Grace. Rayne’s seven month old son, James Alexander MacLendon, Jay for short, named after his grandfathers, had stolen the show. With his long brown curls, emerald green eyes and toothless smile, he was truly something special. His Commander was the happiest he had ever seen him and more protective than he ever thought possible; funniest damn thing and so worth the trip.

Lance was staying at Kyndel’s old apartment now that Rayne and Kyndel owned the whole building, while he led the hunt for the traitor. He knew the newlyweds were living in Grace’s home about a half an hour from him, but he only saw Aidan when they were following a lead on his crazy ass younger brother. He missed his old friend. For six years he had watched his friend blame himself and mourn the loss of his younger brother. Then after finding out the son of a bitch was alive, Aidan finally claimed his mate, and now he and Grace were inseparable. He guessed that was how it was when you were in love. He wished them all the best, but couldn’t help but feel a little jealous.

After all, when all hell was breaking loose, Lance had actually found a ray of sunshine in the form of the one the Universe designed for him and his beast alone. There she was lying under a pile of rubble, covered in soot, cussing like a sailor; his Samantha, his mate. Her long, thick brown braid was all that could be seen, even as the pile of debris that trapped her quivered and shook while she tried to free herself. The intoxicating scent of lavender, rose petals, and jasmine, hit him square in the chest, awakening the feelings he had recently witnessed in two of his oldest friends. The first meeting of their eyes was magical, sending a current through his body that caused his pulse to race and him to remind his manhood that it was not the time or place to make his presence known. He knew she felt it too as he watched her breath hitch and pupils dilate.

He tried to deny their connection; not going to her, only watching from afar. Even told himself that he had to be there to protect her, since they had yet to catch the traitor or ‘The Auctioneer’ after the explosion and the abduction of Aidan’s mate. He also knew that she had suffered not only physical wounds, but also emotional trauma from what had transpired. He could not fathom dropping the “I am your mate” bomb on her with all of that. There was also the pesky little fact that he was just not ready for a mate. Hell, look at all that happened to Kyndel and then Grace when they had first learned that they were the mates of his brethren. One was held at knife point and the other trapped in a magical spell, not something he wanted his mate to go through. If his Commander, Rayne, and the fiercest of their Force, Aidan, had not been able to keep those things from happening to their mates, what in all the heavens would happen to his mate. There was no way he was prepared for that kind of responsibility. But no matter what, he still watched. He shook his head, damn, he really was pathetic.

Tonight was a perfect example. He had rushed back from his clan’s lair just to watch as she left work and went home. Sure he had missed her until he spotted her little blue Jetta, still parked in the doctor’s parking lot, he looked at his watch, noting it was already almost six hours past the time she should be leaving the hospital. Hell, he really was becoming a stalker and most definitely felt like a loser. He knew her schedule by heart, but still called in every other day and sweet talked one of the retired ladies that volunteered in reception for her hours. “She must have taken an extra case again,” he said to himself. From sitting in the waiting area on the days that it rained or snowed or he just got tired of sitting on his motorcycle, he knew that she took the cases no one else wanted and noted they were almost always children. When he had heard that she was the most requested resident in the entire hospital, not only because of her skill and knowledge, but because of her incredible bedside manner, he could not stop the surge of pride he felt. Thoughts about her bedside manner that had nothing to do with her skill as a doctor, and everything to do with him getting her naked and under him seemed to be on his mind constantly.

Sitting in the shadows for almost four hours and beginning to wonder if she was ever coming out, he propped his bike on the kickstand and started to towards the emergency entrance. Just as he crossed the street, the scent of lavender, rose petals and jasmine caught his attention. His head popped up and there standing not a hundred yards in front of him was Samantha. From the way she held her head slightly to the side, he could tell that the muscles in her neck needed a massaging and his hands ached to do just that. She has to be exhausted, he thought to himself but still thought she had never looked more beautiful. Using his enhanced speed, he returned to his bike before she had time to spot him. Being a coward was not something that sat well with him but he had his reasons and they included eliminating all threats to her life before even considering bringing her into his world.

He sat on his well hidden Harley as she headed for her car, completely mesmerized by the sway of her rounded hips as her steps ate up the pavement. He had lost count of the number of times he had dreamt of his hands on those hips. His favorite fantasy had her bent over the arm of the huge overstuffed couch in Kyndel’s old apartment, his fingers gripping her hips as he drove his hard cock into her hot, wet pussy until they were both screaming their release. He breathed deeply, trying to dislodge the image of them both naked and spent after hours of hot, sweaty lovemaking from his brain, just in time to see the dark brown braid that she always wore cascade down her back as she removed the surgical cap she had most likely forgotten until now.

He held his breath as she undid the tiny pink holder from the end. He had only seen her hair completely unfettered a few times and it had been one of the most beautifu
l things he had ever witnessed. He longed for it to be his fingers running those curly brown locks instead of hers as she rubbed her scalp and removed a few of the knots he was sure would be present after so many hours bound up. His cock hardened again in his jeans as he watched those beautiful curls blow in the wind and prayed for the day he would feel them all over his body. Her hair was soft as silk, he remembered from the brief time she had spent in his arms when he carried her from the rubble of the abandoned warehouse after the explosion. Samantha was absolutely breathtaking. Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined scrubs could be sexy but damn his woman knew how to wear them.

He watched as she got in her car, fastened her seatbelt and wished for the hundredth time that he could go to her but knew in his heart that the timing was all wrong. The taillights on her car flashed as she backed out of her parking spot and headed towards the road that would take her to the little white cottage with black shutters on the edge of the woods that she called home. He adjusted his half erect cock, threw his leg over the seat of his bike and waited just a few minutes before following her to make she didn’t spot him. His brethren would rag him relentlessly if they knew what he was doing. He would just have to make sure they never found out.

  *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Seven months! Seven long months of hiding, only leaving the hovel he was holed up in when absolutely necessary. He had even resorted to paying neighborhood urchins to fetch supplies for him to avoid going out in public, where those fucking werepanthers, or even worse, the damned Dragon Guard could scent and find him. He had one amulet left and had to save that until he could locate the illusive witch and have her bespell more of those precious magical discs. If only he and those cowardly fucking wizards had been able to complete the ritual they had planned, then he would be able to draw on an almost endless reserve of black magic and hide his dragon nature from the assholes that hunted him. As it was, some criminal they were all calling ‘The Auctioneer’, who had his sights set on ruling the world, cue the dramatic music, had blown up the building and his chances of completing the ritual he so desperately needed. That ritual and the ensuing black magic was essential to his plans for revenge against all the people that had let him down, tortured him, left him for dead, or just pissed him off in general.

He smiled as he remembered that he had kidnapped his cowardly brother’s mate right in front of Aidan’s eyes, and had kept her from him for quite some time. He heard they had finally broken through the spell. He wished he could have seen the long hours of suffering his brother endured while he wondered if his mate lived or died. Of course, it was nothing like he had endured at the hands of the wizards, but it was a taste of things to come, things that Andrew would make sure his older brothers and all of those worthless Dragon Guardsmen suffered. Along with the memories of the short time he spent with Grace, Aidan’s mate, was the look of pure frustration upon the face of the great and powerful Dragon Guard Commander, Rayne MacLendon, as he activated one of the last of his amulets and disappeared right before the fierce warrior’s eyes.

He simply had to find a way to get to that damn witch. It would only take a few more of her special amulets for him to be able to leave the horrid place he was calling home and find another coven of witless wizards to help him acquire the black magic he needed to put all his plans into motion. Her creative brand of magic allowed him to be able to hide in plain sight from the best trackers in the world, and also to hide his dragon nature from the wizards when he found them. She was the only witch he knew powerful enough to do what he needed, and she was proving damn near impossible to draw out of hiding. He had never expected the flighty blonde to have enough sense to hide, but apparently looks were deceiving. She must have run when she learned of the debacle at the warehouse, scared even though he had done everything in his power to protect her identity. He was almost positive he had succeeded. She was a white witch after all, no one would suspect her of being involved in his plan, and for the most part, she wasn’t. She was a means to an end and he had used her like he used everyone else, but that did not negate the fact that he needed to find her, quickly. He had even tried to use his rusty dragon senses to reach out to her, but they only seemed to pick up on others of his old clan. He feared they could use it as a beacon to find him, so he had shut them down and not used them since the day he sensed his brother and beautiful mate close by. If things continued the way they were much longer, he may just have to try again and hope for the best.

He headed to the kitchen for another shot of whiskey. It seemed to be the only thing that kept him from pulling his hair out by the roots as he sat around waiting for news from his spies that something, anything, was finally going his way. He watched as the amber liquid poured into the chipped glass he had procured from a thrift shop around the corner, on one of the very few trips he had made out into civilization in what seemed like forever. He was awakened from his half drunken musings by a knock on the door. Grabbing the gun he had taken off a dead body in the alley behind his rented shack, he carefully stalked to the door. No one was due to stop by until tomorrow, but maybe one of the losers he used to do his bidding had found something interesting.

Standing to the side of the door, he sniffed, and listened intently. He may not have control over his other dragon senses, but he was definitely using his enhanced sense of smell and hearing whenever he could. Hell, he may not like it, but he was a dragon shifter, and if it got him even one step closer to executing his plans, then he would use whatever he had at his disposal. The stench of black magic filled his nostrils. He could hear an accelerated heart beat along with rapid breathing on the other side of the door. There was a wizard on the other side of his door, a frightened wizard, but a wizard nonetheless. Maybe his luck was about to make an upward swing. The heavens knew it was about time. He didn’t stop the evil grin that touched his lips as he reached for the door handle. “Welcome to my parlor said the spider to the fly,” he thought as he opened the door.
