  He forced himself to look at Felix as Felix stubbornly held me back. “Take close care of her, brother,” Felix said gruffly, “or you shall have me to answer to.”

  The two shook hands, each hiding a grin, and then Felix placed my hand in Will’s.

  And in that moment, as I felt the heat of Will’s palm, the fast pulse in his fingertips…as we moved through the vows to love, cherish, and honor for all the hours and days of our lives…I knew it.

  I knew hope.

  I knew the power of promise.

  I knew who I’d been, and who I now was, and who Will and I would be together.

  And above all, I knew love. In me and beside me and around me. Behind me and before me.

  Love so intense it made me want to weep. But I smiled as the tears rolled down my face. Oh, how I smiled…

  When a delightful concert comes to an end,
