Thanks again for reading Star Brigade: Ascendant. This book has been bouncing around in my head for years, and I’m relieved to finally get it out for you to read. Ascendant has been the fastest I’ve written, edited and released any full-length book. Here’s to the next few novels getting released even faster! This fourth Star Brigade novel also shapes the direction of the Star Brigade series going forward. As you’ve read, many new characters and factions have entered the Star Brigade universe. Will they ultimately become friends or foes of our main heroes? You’ll just have to wait and see...
So what’s next after Star Brigade: Ascendant? A bunch of new Star Brigade stories are coming your way over the next several months. That includes a strikefile novella in early fall, a pair of Star Brigade-related stories in two different anthologies later this year AND a Books 1-4 boxset early next year loaded with bonus stories occurring in between the main series books.
However, it might be some time before Star Brigade Book 5 is ready.
Don’t worry, the Star Brigade series is far from over. But Ascendant felt like the best place to press pause and start up a brand-new book series.
So what’s the new series about? Superheroes in the present day/near future, specifically the origins of a hero and a villain, both who will become each other’s archenemy. As a comic book fan, I’ve wanted to tell a multi-book saga about heroes and villains in spandex and tights for years. Star Brigade definitely has comic book leanings. This new series, however, dives fully into the superhero world with a new set of characters and situations, many which will lampoon the stereotypes used in comic book stories. Hopefully you’ll come along for the ride when this series is ready for release!
