Auctioned: An Omegaverse Anthology
Page 10
Standing, Sindari made her way over to the same door. Scarlett sat forward as she watched her talk to the man who had taken others back to pick up their purchases. After a few words, Sindari signed a tablet he held out to her before turning and making her way back to the couch with a broad grin on her face.
Scarlett narrowed her eyes in suspicion as Marisha and their other friends all stood, forming a semi-circle that blocked Scarlett in, and her hackles began to rise as they stared at her.
“We wanted to do something super-special for your birthday this year since it’s your dirty-thirty, and to pay you back for all of the times you have saved us.” Holding up a hand to stop Scarlett when she opened her mouth to protest, Sindari continued. “You have saved us, many times. We all agreed to this. There are no refunds, no takebacks, no refusing! He’s yours.”
The last bit said on a squeal, the girls moved aside to reveal the auctioneer standing behind them, holding a shiny silver leash attached to the male omega’s collar. Jaw dropping in shock, Scarlett pulled her wide eyes away from him for a moment to look at each of her friends.
“But I…”
“No buts, either! You’re taking him home, and that’s final!” Marisha said.
Narrowing her gaze, Scarlett lifted her lip and let out a soft growl, but Marisha brushed it off.
“You don’t scare me. Now come sign this so we can go!”
Standing, Scarlett took the tablet thrust at her, looking down at it before glancing back at the male waiting on the end of the leash. He stood quietly, head bowed, like any good slave would, waiting for her to decide his fate. She reached out and gripped his chin in her hand, tipping his head back until his eyes met hers.
With her heels on, she was taller than him, but not by much. Omegas were usually the smallest dynamic, and he was short compared to others of his species, but he still towered over her friends and was probably just as tall as her when she was barefoot.
Trepidation and excitement warred within his violet eyes, and her heart gave a painful thump. Taking in a deep breath, she closed her own eyes and reveled in the spicy cocoa-and-coffee scent of him, letting out a soft purr on the exhale.
Sighing, Scarlett looked down and signed the tablet, taking the handle to the leash when the man held it out to her.
“I appreciate this, but I can’t keep him,” she said quietly to the group.
With her eyes still on her new slave, she saw how his features tightened for a moment before he forced them to relax. She wondered what had made him wince.
“He’s already yours,” Sindari said. “Just take him home and have some fun. If it becomes too much to deal with, we won’t hold it against you.”
Sighing again, Scarlett turned back to her friends, giving them a smile as she reached out and pulled each of them into a hug.
“Thank you. Now I definitely need another drink!”
With that, all the girls cheered, turning to head back downstairs to the club. Their table had been taken over by another group, but it was so late that there were a few open close to the wall. They all crowded around one, Scarlett’s omega keeping close to her back as he followed behind her.
She felt a bit awkward pulling him around on a leash, but she had seen others doing it in the club, so she shrugged it off. It wasn’t unusual to see someone with a slave on a leash in public, and no one really paid any attention to it. She had just never been the one holding the leash and she felt like there were a ton of eyes on her.
Looking around between shots with her friends, she noticed that he was getting a lot of attention from other Alphas. Turning to where he still stood quietly behind her, Scarlett realized she didn’t know what to call him.
Leaning in close to his ear, she couldn’t help but draw in another deep breath of his delicious scent.
“What’s your name?”
“Kralk is the name my parents gave me, but I will answer to anything you wish.”
His voice was just as deep and smooth as his scent, and goosebumps crawled up Scarlett’s arms as she shivered. Nipples pebbling, she moved closer so she didn’t have to yell.
“I want you to kneel beside me, close to the wall, so you are out of sight of other Alphas.”
Pupils dilating at her order, he did as he was told, maintaining eye contact as he lowered himself to his knees. Scarlett couldn’t help the way her pussy clenched as she looked down at him, kneeling with his head so close to her core. His nostrils flared, and she knew he could scent her arousal. She had to drag her eyes away from him and back to the others around the table.
Smirking, Marisha waggled her eyebrows at her. Rolling her eyes in return, Scarlett grabbed another shot from the tray on the table and lifted it.
“To the best friends a girl could have!”
Clinking their glasses together, they downed the burning liquid between laughs and chatter, Scarlett forcing herself not to look down at the male by her feet.
Chapter Five
Scarlett
Groaning, Scarlett threw an arm over her eyes to try to block out the light. Her mouth felt like she had been sucking on sand all night while her head pounded along to her heartbeat.
Knowing it wasn’t going to get better if she remained where she was, she let out a growl and pushed herself up, cracking open an eye. She froze when she noticed Kralk kneeling beside the end of her bed.
The last part of the night before was a blur, and she didn’t really remember getting home, but she remembered when he had come on stage. Choking off her growl, she cleared her throat, trying to get enough moisture in her mouth to speak.
“Would you like me to get you a glass of water and some medicine?”
His rich voice poured over her like honey, her nipples hardening painfully as her core clenched. Giving a short nod, she watched his lithe body unfold as he stood and made his way to the door of her bedroom. He was still wearing nothing but the loincloth, and she admired his backside as it disappeared through the doorway.
Running her hands over her face, Scarlett rubbed the sleep from her eyes before pushing her hands through her hair, hoping she didn’t look too horrible. Looking down, she realized she must have peeled off her dress before crawling into bed, because there was nothing covering her besides the thin sheet pooled around her hips.
Yanking it up to cover her breasts just as Kralk walked back through the door, heat rushed to her cheeks even as her eyes were drawn to the tent in the cloth covering his cock. Dragging her gaze up his muscular body didn’t assuage the surge of lust flooding through her as he moved closer.
As he offered her the glass, he boldly held her gaze, fingers brushing her palm when he placed the pills in her upturned hand.
“Is there anything else you would like from me?”
The suggestion in his tone was evident, and Scarlett swallowed hard, feeling like their roles had been reversed. Downing the pills, she avoided looking at him as she thought quickly. It wasn’t that she wasn’t attracted to him—she was—but she felt like his attention was fake. That he was only offering because she owned him, and he thought she expected him to.
Finishing the glass of water, she focused on the bathroom door and swallowed the growl that threatened to spill at the thought of him faking interest in her.
“Food. Can you cook?”
“Yes.”
His slow reply showed his surprise at her question.
“Go make breakfast while I shower, then. I’ll be out in twenty minutes.”
Waiting for him to leave the room, she kept her eyes focused straight ahead until he closed her bedroom door behind him. With a relieved sigh, she dropped the sheet and stood, tail lashing as she turned around to dig through her dresser for clothes before making her way to the bathroom.
Scarlett had never really thought about owning a slave. She’d figured it was too much trouble to bother with, and there wasn’t any reason for her to. She was self-sufficient and didn’t need anyone to look after her.
Now that she had Kralk
in her home, she wasn’t sure what to do with him. She knew what he had been bought for, what her friends and even he expected from her, but the thought of taking him just because he was there made her skin crawl and her stomach churn.
As an Alpha, she could always force a reaction from him, but Scarlett found that thought distasteful. Growling and using an omega’s biology against them to create desire seemed worse to her than knowing he was faking it.
Pushing the thoughts away, she cranked her shower up as hot as she could stand before stepping under the water, letting it rinse away the fog still clouding her head. Groaning, she scrubbed herself, resisting the urge to relieve the tension caused by the sexy omega currently making breakfast.
After getting out and drying off, she pulled on her usual pair of capris and a tank top. Then, with a deep breath, Scarlett opened her bedroom door and stepped out to the scent of bacon and toast.
Stomach growling, she made her way down the hall, turning the corner to see Kralk sliding eggs onto a plate. Forcing herself to ignore him, she poured a cup of coffee and held it to her nose, unable to help her sigh of disappointment when it didn’t smell nearly as good as the omega.
Scarlett walked over to her small table and took a seat, surprised when Kralk came up beside her. Kneeling, he placed the plate on the table in front of where she sat and bowed his head, hands resting on his thighs.
She couldn’t help the pleased rumble that left her chest. He gave his submission beautifully, without a fight, and it stirred the Alpha in her.
Pulling her eyes away from him, she cleared her throat and looked around.
“Where is your breakfast?”
Her brows drew together when she realized he had only made one plate of food.
“I would not presume, Alpha.”
“Oh, for fuck’s sake,” Scarlett mumbled as she rose to her feet.
She stalked into the kitchen, took another plate from the cabinet, and brought it back to the table. Scraping half her food onto the second plate, she sat it down in front of the extra chair with a thump.
“Eat.”
The order was short and gruff. Kralk’s eyes jerked to her face before darting away as he scrambled into the chair. Leaning over the plate of food, he began to do as she said.
Once she was satisfied he was eating, Scarlett turned back to her plate, lifting the fork to her mouth. He had seasoned the eggs perfectly, and she couldn’t contain another rumble of pleasure. If everything he cooked was as good as the eggs, he might be worth keeping.
That thought brought her up short and she had to force herself to swallow. She didn’t know the first thing about keeping a slave, and it didn’t seem practical to even consider it. Others had told her that it could be a lot of work, and she wasn’t sure she had the time to deal with the complication to her otherwise simple life.
Once she finished her meal, Scarlett stood to take her plate to the sink, but Kralk reached out and gripped the other side of it.
“Let me.”
His voice was a soft plea, as if he truly wanted to wash the dish for her.
She let him take it, watching his lithe body as he walked to the sink. It didn’t take him long to clean the dishes, and when he turned, his violet eyes met hers for a moment before dropping to the floor.
Chapter Six
Kralk
Clenching his hands in front of him, Kralk tried to hide his growing erection. He had been fighting it all morning, and her sounds of pleasure had not helped him any.
He was a little surprised that she hadn’t used him when they’d returned to her apartment early that morning. Her friends had been fall-down drunk, but she had managed to make it up to her apartment without assistance.
Kralk had grown painfully hard when she led him into her bedroom by his leash and began to strip. Though he’d been awaiting her orders, she only flopped onto the bed and promptly began to snore. Unsure what to do, he slept curled on the floor beside her bed until she began to stir.
Now her blue eyes were watching him, but he still wasn’t sure what she wanted from him.
“I’m going to be honest here,” she said. “I don’t know what to do with you. I never planned to have a slave and I don’t need one, so it seems like my only option is to try to get you into one of the auctions going on at the market.”
Head snapping up, his breath froze in his chest. He knew better than to hold an Alpha’s gaze, but he couldn’t pull his eyes from hers as his entire body tensed in fear.
Taking a step toward her, he fell to his knees.
“Please, Alpha, I’ll do anything you want. I can cook and clean. I’ve trained in giving pleasure and will do anything you ask. Gladly! But don’t put me in the market auction.”
Kralk could barely hear his own voice over his pulse thundering in his ears. His erection deflated as he tried to keep from groveling at her feet. He had already shown too much weakness, but she didn’t seem to be the sadistic type who would take advantage of his fears.
He thought he saw concern flick across her face, but it was gone too fast for him to be sure. He had to think of a way to convince her to keep him, or at least to get him into an exclusive auction like the one she’d gotten him at the night before.
“You could come home every day to a clean home and a hot meal,” he continued. “I will stay out of sight and you can pretend I’m not even here. Or you can put me to work. I’m a fast learner.”
“Why do you not want to be sold at the auction?”
Kralk finally dropped his gaze to her feet, trying to come up with an answer that wouldn’t get him in trouble.
“I… am… highly trained,” he said, latching onto the one thought he could come up with that might convince her. “In a public auction, I wouldn’t bring as much as I would in a private one like last night.”
“How much you sell for doesn’t really matter; I can repay my friends in other ways.”
Her feet moved closer before she stroked her hand down the side of his face to his chin. Swallowing hard, he allowed her to tip back his head until he was looking up at her again.
“Why do you not want to be sold at the market auction?” she asked again.
His stomach rolled and he worried he would be sick.
“I do not wish to be owned by a pleasure house, or an Alpha who will share me with others. You seem like you will be a fair master, and I wish to stay with you.”
She continued to look down at him with an unreadable expression before sighing and releasing his chin. Stepping back, she sat on the dining chair and buried her hands in her hair.
“I still don’t think I can keep you, but I will look into finding a private auction like the one last night. That’s the best I can do.”
Relief flooded Kralk and his body sagged as he bowed his head.
“Thank you, Alpha,” he whispered.
While he was disappointed that she wouldn’t keep him, he was grateful she was willing to listen.
Her chair scraped across the floor as she stood and walked to her couch, lifting a tablet from the table in front of it.
Resolving to do his best for her while he remained, Kralk stood as well and went back to the cabinet where he had found cleaning supplies. Maybe if he did a good enough job of proving he could be useful to her, she would change her mind about selling him.
