Cole stared down at him. “You’re my husband. I love you. ’Til death do us part, and all of that. I’d have married you even if all of this hadn’t happened. This just pushed up the timeframe. I know you’re not going anywhere, we know she’s damn sure not going anywhere, and I’m happy with our odd little family.”

“Is she really happy?” Mason asked.

“Yeah, she is. It took a lot of stress off of her by us getting married. She didn’t have to worry about trying to get past her issues so fast. It freed her to be able to just enjoy what we have and work through stuff at her own speed. I really think she’s better off this way.”

“How about you just ask me?” Kim said from the doorway.

  * * * *

Kim walked in and wrapped her arms around both men. “I don’t know how many times I have to tell you I’m happy with this.”

She held up her left hand and wiggled her fingers at Mason, especially her ring finger where the matching wedding band lay.

“This means more to me without the piece of paper than it would if we had it. It means you want to be with me. You’re not forced to be with me. At any time, you could take it from me and say, ‘Bye.’ And I know you’re not going to do that because that’s not who you are. Either of you. Stop worrying about me. I’m fine. If I’m not, I’ll tell you.”

Mason slipped one arm around her waist. “Mason to Kim time, not Master and pet. You aren’t upset I married him?”

“Oh, for crying out loud, Mase. How many other ways can I say it? I’m not upset. I’m happy.”

Yes, she got it. They were both conscientious men.

But it was annoying having to reassure them all the time that she was okay.

“I just want to make sure.”

“How about this? I promise you that if any time I feel neglected in this arrangement, I’ll speak up. Frankly, I never thought I’d ever find myself safewording for sex. It’s an interesting and not a bad problem to have.”

One or both of the men were horny nearly every night. She’d quickly learned they meant it when she could safeword if she wasn’t in the mood, and then they’d take care of each other.

Which was, honestly, hotter than fuck to watch anyway.

Mason let go of Cole and stroked her hair with his other hand. “Mouthy pet.” His lips curled in a smirk.

“Yes, I am a very mouthy pet.” She leaned in and kissed him. “Very damn mouthy. So mouthy that I deserve to have a cock stuffed in my mouth when Master gets home tonight. Maybe two.”

  “Challenge accepted,” Cole joked.

“I don’t feel left out, or like a third wheel,” she assured them both. “I actually feel a little guilty sometimes, because I feel like I’m kind of the center of the universe when I’m with you two. Yeah, I’m good with what we have, and I have no desire to change things up. I promise to speak up if I ever feel any differently. I love both of you, and I know you both love me and each other. If we had to stop all the BDSM stuff today for some reason, yeah, that would suck, but I still love both of you and know we’d still have each other. That’s all I care about.”

Mason hugged her. “All right, sweetheart. Sorry. Just making sure.”

She reached out and poked Cole. “Yes, I always thought one day you and I would be getting married. Frankly, that scared the shit out of me for all the reasons. My reasons, not yours. I get the best of both worlds now.”

Sunday evening was the monthly Suncoast Society munch. Of course they were going, because they’d missed enough during Mason’s stay in the hospital and subsequent recovery.

They ended up seated at a table with Seth and Leah, Tilly, Cris and Landry, and two new couples who looked borderline terrified.

Kim offered the woman seated closest to her a smile. “So how did you get interested in BDSM?” she asked.

The woman blushed. “I’m in a group on Facebook. They were talking about some of these books and…here we are.”

“Ah. Well, just remember that forming your idea of BDSM on fiction can be a liability to figuring out what’s right for the two of you. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do, especially just because someone’s talking about it.”

After a couple of hours, a great meal, and socializing with their friends, some of whom hadn’t seen Mase since before the accident, Kim exchanged phone numbers with the woman and her husband who she’d talked with the most.

“Feel free to text or call if you have any questions, or would like to get together for dinner to talk. And we’ll be at Venture this weekend. There’s going to be a rope class.”

  “Rope?” The woman looked interested.

“Shibari. One of my favorite things. Great class for beginners.”

The woman looked up at her husband. “Okay, sure, if he’s okay with it.”

“I actually liked the rope pictures I saw,” he said.

“Good.” Kim smiled. “Some of us even go out to dinner after the class. You’re welcomed to join us.”

“Thanks,” she said. “We’d like that.”

As they rode home, Kim in the backseat and Cole driving, Mason glanced back. “Sorry we kind of abandoned you for part of the evening. That couple you were talking to seemed nice.”

“They are. They’re interested in rope.”

“Ah. Bringing a couple of newbies over to the dark side, are we?”

She giggled. Rope had become her new favorite thing, and Cole had actually found he liked tying her up.

And he was good at it.

“Of course. The cookies are better over here.”

Mason smiled at her. “You got that right.”
