Mason ran his gaze down her, lust pooling in his eyes. “To the three of us.”

As if on autopilot, she touched her glass to theirs once more. Ask them. “I’m a little confused.”

Mason placed his hand on hers. “About what, angel?”

How did one ask about their sexual intentions? They’d only known her a little over eight weeks. Was her experience with Mason a one-time event? God, but this was hard. “Are you asking the hotel to bring in a cot for me to sleep on?”

Liam glanced at Mason, looking amused. Damn him.

“Is that what you want?” He rubbed his thumb across the back of her hand.

Yes. No. Maybe. Her sex life always ended in disappointment. She leaned closer. “I have the feeling that if you and I snuggle in bed, you’ll not be able to control yourself.”

Liam leaned his head back and laughed. “You got that right, honey. Mase here is one weak warrior. I’ve always referred to him as the one-touch soldier. He’s really like a hand grenade. Grab it just right and he’ll explode.”

Mason glared at his friend and gave him a subtle middle finger. She knew Liam’s assessment wasn’t true. While she’d only managed to get in one or two licks before Mason pulled her off, he probably could tell she needed his cock in her pussy more than in her mouth.

Mason’s brows rose. “Are you worried about Liam getting his feelings hurt if you and I make love in the room?”

Duh. Yeah. “Shouldn’t I be?” She glanced at Liam but he didn’t seem concerned.

Liam grinned. “No worries here. You go right ahead and do what you want with my man here. If I happen to wander over and join you, you can totally ignore me.”

“So you really do share?” Her pulse raced. She wasn’t even sure she wanted to know the answer.

“We do,” Liam said. “Will that be a problem?” His voice was as smooth as the wine she was drinking.

She wanted Liam and she wanted Mason, but she wasn’t sure she could handle two men. “I’m not sure.”

Mason lifted her hair and placed it behind her shoulder. “Don’t worry about anything. Let us deal with it. Okay?”

She liked not having to worry about their relationship. “Okay.” She looked up at Liam. “And if I feel it’s too much, are you okay with me only being with Mason?”

His jaw tightened, but then his face relaxed. “I’ll respect your wishes, but be forewarned that I will do everything in my power to win over your heart.”

She laughed, but it was mostly out of nervousness. She had the feeling that in the end, she’d succumb. She picked up her dinner menu, and when she scanned the items she almost gasped. Fifty-dollar entrées were outrageous. She checked the men’s expressions, but they didn’t blink. Ceci said her men claimed to have money, but the fact they caught their own fish and liked to hunt for deer implied they weren’t wealthy. Or did it?

After studying the choices, she went with the seared diver scallops, mostly because it was the second cheapest item.

Liam placed his menu on the table. “Tell us what you like the most about teaching.”

She could talk for hours about her job and the students. “The kids. I love how excited they get when they finally are able to do a problem. Except for my pre-calculus students, who are for the most part talented in math, my algebra students think they are dumb. When I can excite them into wanting to learn, I know I’ve done my job.”

“I always liked math,” Liam said. Mason grunted.

“Most of the kids in my lower-level classes have moms who hated math. They tell their children about their dislike and I swear, the students use that as an excuse not to try.”

Mason gaze never left her face. “I like that about you.”

She shifted her focus to him. “What?”

“That you are passionate about your job. Like us.”

She didn’t miss the “us” word. It was as if he was trying to get her used to being a threesome.

“Is that why you like me?” At first she feared they just felt sorry for her.

Mason’s eyes widened. “Because you’re passionate? In part. You’re also easy to look at, but that’s not the best reason to stay together.” He leaned back. “You’re kind, gentle, warm, genuine.” He cocked a brow. “From the way your face is turning a pretty shade of pink, I’m embarrassing you.”

“Yes. I’m not used to someone listing my qualities. Remember, I grew up in a highly educated family. Earning anything less than a six-digit salary was considered a failure.”

“Ouch. Someone has his priorities mixed up.”

She liked the way Mason thought. “What are good priorities?”

  “A person’s happiness, for one.”

“I’m happy.” Or at least she was happy until the kidnapping.

Liar. Meeting her men had added a whole new dimension into her life. They seem to have the effect of getting her to examine who she was as a person. Made her take stock of things. Then there was the amazing sex. It gave her hope for a future.

Whoa. You’re moving too fast, girl.

“Sarah?” She jerked at the worry in Liam’s tone. “Are you really?”

Her job was fulfilling, sure, but ever since she’d met Liam and Mason, her outlook on life had been better. “For the most part, and if you make sure Harrison Kaplan minds his own business, I’ll be ecstatic.” She gave them her best smile.

“We want you to be happy, angel.”

She wanted to ask him why it mattered to him, but she didn’t want to spoil the mood. The waiter came to take their order, which thankfully cut short any need to respond.

Wanting to take the focus off her, she turned to Liam, mostly because he was the more open of the two. “What possessed you to get into the surveillance and detecting business?”

He sucked in a big breath between his teeth. “We kind of fell into it, I guess. Mase?”

“It started with my sister Janet. I’d finished my tour and was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. My degree’s in accounting, but working on other people’s taxes and stuff seemed insignificant after witnessing all that crap in Iraq.”

She wasn’t quite following. “What about Janet?”

“Sorry. Janet had a stalker and it was freaking her out.”

“I’d be freaked out, too.” She sort of, kind of, had one now, if the slashed tires were connected to Kaplan.

“Janet had an idea who it might be, so I followed the guy to see if he was following Janet. He wasn’t.”

  “What did you do?”

“Called my old army buddy, Liam. Liam, you see, is rather handy with a computer. With the help of his local police contacts, he was able to trace her calls, and found out who was really after her.”

  “So you caught him?”

“Yup. That’s when I realized I wanted to do this for a living. I’d never felt more alive or more gratified.”

“You’re now doing important work,” she said.

She had to be the densest person alive. What would happen when another woman was in distress? What if someone else needed protection? Would they abandon her?

  “That we are.”

The meal arrived, and the presentation impressed and enticed her. Each bite was divine. “This is heaven.”

“Honey, you have no idea what real heaven is, then.” Liam winked and her insides went wild.

  This was so not good.

  * * * *

After dinner, Liam didn’t want to go up to the hotel room and twiddle his thumbs until it was time for bed. He wanted to make love with Sarah. His need for her was too strong to ignore any longer. This wasn’t some short-term affair. He wanted her forever. Maybe it was the women he’d been around, but she was a breath of fresh air—pure, good, and wonderful.

Their dinner conversation had intrigued him. Sarah had asked thoughtful questions about their motivations and really seemed to understand why they did what they did. Most women dwelled on the danger part of their job, not on how worthwhile their occup
ation could be.

“How about we order a glass of wine for outside? There are fire pits and a Jacuzzi.”

She smiled and his cock hardened. “I’d love that.” She wagged a finger. “But no hot tub.”

“Why?” From her sly smile she knew he’d try to seduce her. “Afraid?” Sure, he was baiting her, but he wanted to hear her response.

“It’s public. You men don’t seem to have any sense of propriety.”

He mentally pumped his fist. So she was contemplating being with both of them.

Mason chuckled. “I’ll get us some wine.”

Liam led Sarah out to the back deck.

“Oh, my Lord. This is amazing.”

He loved how her eyes widened in amazement. Even though her family was fairly wealthy, she seemed to appreciate beauty. Long red sofas wrapped around the porch and two fire pits sat in front of each sofa. The hot tub was tucked in the corner. He bet Sarah was pleased a couple occupied it. It would take the pressure off her.

He wanted to learn what excited her, what she liked to read, what she would change in the world if she had the power.

Yup. Tonight was going to be something else—as long as he didn’t move too fast and blow it.

  Chapter Twelve

The fire pit was amazing, the weather perfect, the wine tasty, and the company exhilarating. Then why was Sarah nervous? At some point over dinner, it became clear that these men both wanted her. Gone was the feeling that if she slept with Liam, Mason would be upset. On the contrary, he’d be upset if she didn’t welcome both of them.

Mason opened the hotel room door and ushered her in. “You want to take a shower first?”

She glanced between them, thinking they would have insisted all three wash at the same time. They must have sensed this was new territory for her and were respecting her wishes. “Sure.”

Liam opened the closet and extracted a fluffy white robe. “Why don’t you put this on afterwards? I bet it’ll feel good on your skin.” He smiled.

She bet his grin was due to the fact that with one tug of the belt, she’d be totally exposed. Her pussy throbbed at the idea. “Thanks.”

After gathering her toiletries, she went into the bathroom. The door had a lock, but she decided to let fate have a hand in what happened next. If the men decided to leave her alone, then fine. If not, she’d go with the flow.

Sarah adjusted the water temperature and carried in the Lodge’s soap, shampoo, and conditioner into the shower. She undid the soap wrapper and the delicious scent of vanilla wafted up to her. “Nice.”

She dunked under the water and wet her hair. After pouring on the soap, which smelled like lavender, she lathered her hair and rinsed. Just as she poured on the conditioner, the click of the bathroom door sounded.

  She smiled. “Hello, Mason.”

Sarah picked up the conditioner and dumped a handful on her hair. As she rubbed it in, the curtain pulled back.

  “Hello, honey.”

  She froze. Liam.

Make that a naked Liam. Words wouldn’t form. He grinned and stepped into the shower.

“You can close your mouth now. Don’t want water to get in.”

His gaze ran down her body. He’d already seen her naked, but now he was naked, too. And close. Mason must know he was in here. Maybe Mason had suggested he try to seduce her.

“What are you doing in here?” she croaked. What do you think?

  “Saving water. Need help?”

Without waiting for her to respond, he picked up the bar of soap and dragged the edge over one nipple. Pinpricks of delight stabbed her body from tip to pussy. This didn’t bode well for keeping her composure.

She wrinkled her nose. “You smell.” That wasn’t true, but she wanted to be able to touch his glorious body.

He cocked a brow, clearly not buying her line. “Then shall we change places so I can remedy that?”

His cheeky grin seemed to alter her insides. When she passed him in the tub, her breasts rubbed against his arm and sent delightful spasms through her.

As if it was an everyday occurrence to be in the shower with a woman, he turned around, presenting her with one fine ass. The temptation to touch his round globes was strong, but they certainly didn’t need to be having sex in the shower.

“May I wash your back?” The words escaped before she thought things though.

“Have at me.” He passed back the soap.

Cupping the too-small bar, she ran her hand up and down his back, not sure how low she should go. His wet skin was smooth and mostly hairless, just the way she liked it. Even though he was fair-skinned, his ass was a lot lighter than the rest of him. She put down the bar, stepped closer and dragged both hands over his muscles. She swore he flexed on purpose, but oh how she liked his bulges.

  “You have a nice body.”

“I’m glad it pleases you.” Even though his back was to her, there was a smile in his tone.

Before she could blink, he faced her. “I think it’s my turn to wash your back.”

This was trouble, but she was the one who started it, so she flipped around. Anticipation skidded up her body. Her stupid nipples hardened as she imagined what his rough palms would feel like on her skin.

The bar made swirls on her back before he ran his large palms over her skin. His touch was soft and sensuous. From his speed, he wasn’t in a hurry either. He leaned closer. “Your nipples are pointed, taut, needy. Let’s get you under the water. Don’t want you to get cold.”

He managed to maneuver to the other side and guide her forward in a heartbeat. The heat blasted her chest and she let out a sigh, not from the heat, but from his words and how much they turned her on.

She should be thinking how amazing Mason was, but right now, she wanted to live in the here and now. He twisted her to face him. He’d soaped up his hands and then slid them deliciously over her skin, massaging her breasts. Excitement skidded all over her body.

  “Have you washed your pussy?”

His suggestion sent more heat through her body. No man had ever spoken to her like that. The truth leaked out. “No.”

He waved the soap. “May I?”

“I think it’s a bit too late for shyness, don’t you think?”

He dropped back his head and laughed. “No doubt.”

With soapy fingers, he rubbed between her legs, igniting every erotic nerve in her body. She widened her stance and wiggled her hips.

“Someone likes to be touched,” he said.

  “Maybe.”

“Kitten, you are an explosion waiting to happen. Let’s rinse and I can show you what I can do for you.”

She wanted that, too. How she was going to handle both men she had no idea, but they seemed to have everything figured out. She dropped back her head to rinse out the conditioner when a set of rather cool lips plucked a nipple.

  “Oh.” She jerked to attention.

Liam grinned. “Just trying this out.” His cock jumped right after he spoke.

She swatted him away. “Don’t start now. I’ll never rinse.”

He chuckled and stepped out of the shower. The air filled the space and she was finally able to breathe again. What had she gotten herself into? As quickly as she could, she rinsed and stepped out. Liam had been so silent she thought he’d gone. Wrong. In his hand was a stretched out towel.

“Come here and let me dry you.”

If she didn’t wrap her hair, there would be water all over the place. After quickly grabbing a towel, she wound her hair in a turban style. When she stood, Liam was there to dry her breasts and between her legs.

“I do have arms, legs, and a back, too.”

“I know. But I want to do the important parts first.”

Yeesh. In her memory, no one had ever dried her off, and she had to admit, it was a rather luxurious feeling to let him do what he wanted. He wasn’t expecting her to do anything but stand there.

“Okay, honey, turn around. Might as well enjoy your sweet ass when Mason
s not around.”

She stiffened. She’d forgotten about the logistics of sex and immediately faced him. She held up her hands to stop him. “Maybe I’m not ready for this.”

“For what?” A swift blast of pain crossed his face.

  “Having two cocks at once.”

His chest slightly caved. “Oh, honey. We know that. I’m just thrilled you’re willing to give me a try. It’ll be a while before we both claim you. Relax.” He dragged a knuckle down her cheek and all the air in her lungs escaped.

  “Okay.”

He took a piece of the towel and swatted her hip. “Come on. Let’s see if we can convince Mason to let me ravage your body.”

If he wanted Mason to watch, then Liam would be gentle, too. Now she wished she hadn’t been so reserved around men. In high school she flirted a lot, but never slept with the guys. That was probably why Billy Jackson, star quarterback, dumped her for the cheerleader. It wasn’t until college that she let herself explore, but she’d never done anything like this before.

Liam led her out to the bedroom. Her breath caught at the sight of Mason sitting on the bed reading some pamphlet—wearing glasses. He looked hot.

He looked up and tore the frames from his face. “Hey, angel. All clean?”

From his upbeat tone, he thought nothing of her being with Liam. Face it. They both want you.

She stopped and slipped her hand out of Liam’s grasp. “If I freak out, you’ll take it slow, right?”

Liam pulled her into an embrace. “I want to love you more than anything, but would you be more comfortable telling us what we can do?”

They’d let her lead? At first, she wanted to say yes, but she was the novice here. She didn’t even know how to begin. “No. But if I say stop, you will, right?”

Liam lifted her chin with his finger. “Just say the word.” His sincere response helped dissipate the anxiety. He stepped over to the other bed and pulled down the comforter. “Come here.”

She moved closer to him. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted Mason getting off his bed. He moved behind her and ran his hands from her shoulders to her wrists, sending sparks of delight up and down her body. His touch was so light that the hairs stood up. Even though he was behind her, she could tell when he moved closer because the heat near her back increased.
