Once they finished cleaning up, both men crawled into bed with her. “You’re going to spend the night with me?” This would be the perfect ending to a perfect night.

“Yes, angel. Now go to sleep.”

Mason leaned against her back and she was cradled against his strong chest. She was positive no nightmares would visit her tonight. It was only a matter of minutes when the men’s snores filled the room and lulled her into sleep, too.

  “Sar-ah. Sar-ah.”

Sarah flipped around and cuddled against Liam. Her dream had been her on a horse in an open field. She was exposed and alone, but there was no fear. Then out of the blue, another rider approached.

  “Sar-ah. Sar-ah. Help me.”

She slowed her horse and reached out her hand. It was Elle. She was in her running outfit and she looked exhausted. Her friend was covered in different-colored paint. Maybe she’d come from the Color Run. They didn’t need to talk as she seemed to understand what Elle was asking. She wanted water.

Sarah woke with a start. Both men rolled over. “Honey? You okay?”

“I just need a drink of water.”

  “Okay.”

Liam swung his feet over the side of the bed and sat up. She hated to disturb him, but her mouth was dry. She traipsed into the kitchen and though it was dark, she glanced at the television and the lack of glowing dials. She’d have to tell them about their crazy television tomorrow. After she got a drink, she was able to slip in between them without rousing them.

When she awoke the next morning, the men were already gone. Damn, but their jobs sucked. She eased out of bed. Coffee first, then a shower. Her phone sat on the kitchen counter. She pressed the on button and a text from Liam appeared. Last night was amazing! Hope for a repeat tonight. Mase and I should be home by six.

How sweet that they always let her know where they were. If they had to work, then so would she. School would be starting soon, and she wanted to get a head start on her lesson plans. If she could get through her Pre-Cal class, she might give Ceci a call and see if she wanted to meet. On second thought, maybe she’d freshen up and ask Ceci to join her for a breakfast scone and delicious cup of coffee at Knight’s Delights. They had the best pastries. Her mouth watered at the thought.

Once she washed and dressed, she called Ceci. Sarah wanted to hear about yesterday’s happy hour anyway.

“Hey, girl. We missed you yesterday.”

“I told you I was making dinner for the men. And afterwards, I was busy.” She giggled. “Really busy.”

“I want to hear all about it.”

“Care to meet me at Knight’s Delight in thirty?”

  “I am so there.”

Excited to share her good news, she jumped in the car. Before, she turned on the engine, she texted her men, just like they’d asked her to. Even though the danger was over, she liked keeping connected.

Sarah was the first to arrive. To her delight, Bella was there tending the cash register. Usually the owner stayed home caring for her kids.

Sarah nabbed a table and went up to order. “I haven’t seen you in a while. Are Hawk and Raven watching the children?”

She laughed. “Owen has babysitting duty today.”

Sarah leaned closer. “Can I ask you a question?”

  Bella smiled. “Anything.”

“How do you deal with three men? I mean I’m exhausted with two.”

Her friend laughed. “You get used to it. Besides, it’s unusual to have all three available at the same time.”

That made sense for her men, but Liam and Mason worked together and seemed to have relatively the same hours. She looked around to make sure no one was listening. “Do they get jealous?” While her men were merely competitive, she wondered what would happen if she wanted to spend more time with one than the other.

“Nothing out of the ordinary. Listen, don’t get me wrong, there are challenges. Big ones. Where one is neat, the other is a slob. One likes to eat asparagus and the other two can’t stand it, but we all make concessions. In the end, it’s well worth it. I rarely have to worry about a babysitter.”

That made her feel better. “Thanks.”

“So what can I get you?”

Sarah ordered the caramel latte and two blueberry scones.

“I’ll bring it out to you.”

As Sarah returned to her table, the tension in her shoulders disappeared. She hadn’t realized how much she needed to be assured that some of her worries were just that.

Bella had delivered her coffee and scones just as Ceci came in.

“You look happy,” Ceci said. “Let me get a drink and we can talk.”

Sarah smiled. Today just might be the start of her new life.

  Chapter Nineteen

After she and Ceci caught up, Sarah had a lot of pep and actually wanted to work on her lesson plans instead of making dinner. On the way home, Liam and Mason texted her and suggested they go out to dinner instead of having her cook. Sarah was delighted. In all honesty, any meal after last night’s would be a disappointment. If the men wanted her to stay, though, she might have to give in and buy a cookbook. Having Liam do all the meal plans wouldn’t be fair to him.

She plopped down on the sofa with her math book and laptop. After feeling as if she was underwater for so long, it was good to finally breathe freely again. Only when the garage door opened, did she check the time. It was a little before six. Crap. She hadn’t even changed.

No sooner had she stood than the men came in. They made a beeline toward her. Mason reached her first, lifted her up, and swirled her around.

She planted her hands on his shoulders to keep from slipping. “Someone’s happy.”

“We got the bastard.” Mason set her down.

“Which bastard?” There were a lot of bad people around.

“Remember we mentioned there was a cold case involving twin girls?”

Her heart squeezed. She couldn’t imagine the horror their parents must have experienced. “Yes.”

“After brilliant computer work on Liam’s part, we were able to link the girls’ deaths to human trafficking.”

Liam stepped up to her. “Mason is being humble. He was the one who put the pieces together.”

They acted as if they wanted her to ask who did it. “So the killer was?” She did a drumroll on the counter.

“Their supposed boyfriend. He only pretended to love them so he could sell them. When they escaped, he found them and then killed them.”

She shook her head. “How sad.”

Mason smiled. “Yes. But we brought closure to the family, which was good. Ready to celebrate?”

  “I need to change.”

“You look perfect. We’re only going to the Mountain View.”

Often times the smell of beer and sweat permeated her clothes anyway. “Lead the way.”

  * * * *

When they got back from dinner, the men got another call. Liam mouthed it was from Riley, but Mason promised her nothing short of Harrison Kaplan having escaped from jail was going to stop them from being with her tonight.

“I’m going to take a shower,” she said.

  “We’ll be right in.”

Excited about what tonight would bring, she undressed and stepped into the bathroom. She believed they’d be right in, but after she washed her hair and then her body a few times, and they still hadn’t shown, she stepped out of the shower and dried. With a towel wrapped around her, she stepped into her bedroom thinking perhaps they wanted to surprise her with lit candles around her room.

  Nothing. Hmm.

She traipsed down the hall. Liam’s voice sounded but not Mason’s. When she entered the living room, only Liam was on the phone, shaking his head.

“Look I have to go. I’ll take to you later, Nate.” He disconnected.

  “Where’s Mason?” Her stomach tumbled.

Liam approached her gathered her in his arms. “I know Mason promised, but something came up.

Fear sliced through her. “Was it Kaplan?”

He leaned back and kissed her. “No. You’re safe. He wouldn’t have gone had it not been important.”

There goes their three-way. “So, it’s you and me?” She remembered what Bella had said about rarely have all three of her men together at the same time.

Maybe this was a good thing. She needed to understand if she could handle not having both of them around.

  “If that’s okay with you.”

Her mood suddenly elevated. “Oh, yeah.” Now it was Sarah who grabbed his hand and led him into the bedroom. Tonight, she was so going to torture him.

  * * * *

After she and Liam had made slow, easy love, she’d fallen asleep in his arms. She’d wanted to wait up for Mason and see if he’d be in the mood to make love with her, but it wasn’t to happen.

By the time he slid naked into bed, she was closer to being awake. He pulled her to his chest and kissed her hard. “I promise I’ll make it up to you, angel. I swear this was a one-time event.”

His guilt sliced through her. “Liam was here. As long as I have one of you, I’ll be happy.”

Mason kissed her thoroughly, and when his cock slid between her thighs she gently pushed him back. “We need to sleep.” While his body was blocking the clock, she bet midnight had passed a few hours ago. “Tomorrow for sure.” So as not to be tempted, she rolled over.

Mason held her tight and his warmth seeped into her skin. She fell asleep counting his heartbeats.

  “Sar-ah. Sar-ah.”

She stilled. Sarah had awoken a few minutes ago and had been smiling at how much in sync their snores had been. The creepy words startled her fully awake. They hadn’t come from a dream and neither man was talking in his sleep.

She debated nudging them awake, but if she told them what she swore she’d heard, she feared they’d tell he she was imagining things. Only this time she wasn’t. No longer was she taking those horrible pills.

Her heart pounded in her chest as she lay back down. Mason placed a hand on her shoulder. “Angel. You okay?”

It didn’t matter what she said. If the pattern held, there’d be another call. This would have that terrible ending of “help me.”

  “I thought I heard something.”

Mason propped his head up on his hand. “Heard what?”

“Someone calling my name.” She didn’t want to say this had happened before.

“There are a lot of tree frogs out there this time of night. And hoot owls. Maybe that was what you heard.”

“No. It was closer to a woman’s voice. Kind of deep and throaty. It said Sar-ah, Sar-ah.”

  Liam grunted. “What’s going on?”

She made the decision to be honest. No good would come of hiding things from them. “This isn’t the first time I’ve heard it.” She told them how she heard the strange sounds the night they came home late, and how she thought they really had called her name. Then a few days later, she heard it again, only this time it happened in a dream. “But this time, I was awake.”

  “Sar-ah. Sar-ah. Help me.”

When Mason’s eyes opened wide, he jumped out of the bed. “Stay here.”

Both he and Liam hurriedly dressed. “Liam, check outside. I’m going over every inch of this room, though I don’t see how anyone could have gotten inside.” He faced her. “Did you have any friends over?”

  “No.”

As soon as Mason left the room, she dressed and waited for them in the living room. Morning would be here soon anyway. To keep busy, she brewed coffee. Just as the drink finished both men came in.

  “We found it.”

She still didn’t understand. “Found what?”

Liam held up something about the size of a cell phone. “It’s a recorder.” They brought it over to the counter. He shook his head. “It’s set to go off every night at two and at two ten. Fuck.”

Mason dragged a hand through his hair. “We didn’t hear it yesterday. We’re slipping. I’m sorry, angel.”

“You have nothing to be sorry about. You couldn’t have known.” She looked at the innocuous piece of equipment. “So now what?”

“I’ll bring it to the Bozeman lab. Maybe they can figure out where it was manufactured or perhaps we can get some prints off the thing.”

“I made coffee.” She grabbed her cup and walked over the sofa to sit. It was more comfortable than chairs at the counter. Her gaze caught the pulled cord behind the TV. “Uh-oh.”

Both men rushed over. “What is it?” Mason said. “You remember something?”

“When I was making dinner yesterday, I was periodically watching TV.”

“We have it on when we work, too.”

She shook her head. “This is different.” She explained how the channel changed on her one time, and then the volume went crazy. “Has that ever happened to you?”

Worry crossed Liam’s face. “No.” He stepped behind the set. “Is that why you unplugged it?”

“Yes. You don’t think that has anything to do with the voices do you?”

“Possibly. If a person has a universal remote and is outside the window, he could make those changes.”

She dropped her head back against the seat. “Why does this keep happening to me?”

Mason gathered her in his arms. “We’ll find who’s doing this to you and stop him.”

She sat up. “Could Kaplan be involved? Maybe that guy lied.” The recorder could have been placed under the window a while ago, but the changing of the remote occurred after Kaplan’s man had been caught.

Liam sat on the other side of her. “I don’t think so. His reasoning was sound. Tomorrow, we’ll put a camera on the outside of the house. We’ll catch him.”

Mason cupped her hands in his. “I don’t think the person wants to harm you.”

“They want me to believe I’m crazy. That might be worse.”

“I want you to think of someone who you might have pissed off. An angry parent perhaps? A waiter you forgot to tip?”

Her mind was a blank. “I have no idea.”

Mason’s thumb rubbed the back of her hand. “Take your time, but from now on be extra vigilant.”

“Oh, no. Maybe Mr. Dunwoody’s killer thinks I know something. Maybe that man in the trench coat had just dumped the body and he thinks I’ll testify. Perhaps he’s hoping if I think I’m crazy, I won’t tell anyone what I saw.”

Mason nodded. “Keep working on it. Write down all your ideas and we’ll go over each one tomorrow night. In the meantime, I’m bringing this to Justin and Tom. This might be a matter for the police.”

“I don’t want any more trouble.”

“Angel, this isn’t trouble. We’ll put cameras up and we’ll get this person. Okay?”

She snuggled up against Mason. His scent seeped into her soul. “Okay.” The cameras would help her feel more secure. If the sheriff knew what was going on, then he wouldn’t jump to the conclusion she’d lost her mind.

“How about we see if we can get a bit of sleep?” Mason lifted her chin.

“I’m too worked up to sleep.”

He smiled. “Then how about we try to divert your attention away from this crazy person for a few hours?” He leaned over and kissed her with enough promise for her to know she wouldn’t be thinking of anything other than some hard bodies.

  “It’s a deal.”

  Chapter Twenty

When Sarah finally roused, her pussy was still vibrating, but she was happy and totally content. Knowing there were real explanations for the recent events eased the tension from her body. Not to mention the mind-blowing sex.

The men couldn’t have gotten more than an hour sleep after they finished making love with her before having to head out. Mason said he needed to bring the recorder to the lab in Bozeman while Liam wanted to discuss the strange occurrences with the sheriff. She said she would stay home all day and wait for the camera installer to do his job.

  They’d
told her if she did have to go out for food or something to do the usual texting before she left and then text as soon as she arrived. Given what had happened, she didn’t balk. They cared about her and that was all that mattered.

No sooner had she finished washing up, dressing, and eating, than the doorbell rang. Her heart jumped to her throat. Not trusting anyone, she looked out the window and spotted the white van with the name of the camera installation company on the side. The company had called an hour ago and said they’d be there between ten and two. By past experiences that meant two, not ten.

  She pulled open the door.

“Just wanted to let you know we’re here to put the cameras around the periphery. Liam explained where they needed to go. When we’re done, we’ll need to install a monitor inside.”

  “Okay.”

He nodded and walked back down the path. She made sure to lock the door. After refreshing her cup of coffee, she returned to watch the two men work. As soon as she saw the cameras in their hands, she relaxed and walked back to the sofa to work on her lesson plans.

In less than two hours, they installed the monitor on an unused area of the kitchen counter.

“If you keep pressing this button,” the man said, “you can switch to each camera.”

Right after he left her the bill and walked out, her cell rang. It was Debbie. “Hey there.”

“Sarah? I think I found him.” Her voice seemed odd, but she couldn’t tell if it contained fear or excitement.

“Slow down. Found who? Was someone lost?” Here she thought the two cups of coffee were enough to wake her up. Apparently not.

“The man who might have killed Mr. Dunwoody.”

She was speechless for a moment. Her brain finally kicked in. “Who?” This could end all of her problems if he was found.

“I don’t know his name. That’s where you come in. Can you come over? I want you to help me look through some yearbooks.”

“You think the killer went to Pleasure High School.”

  “It makes sense.”

“How do you even have a clue?”
