Lady of Charade

“Husband. This is my husband, David,” Sarah supplied, introducing the two of them, and Abigail blushed at his greeting.

“If you and your husband require other lodgings, please let me know and we can find somewhere for you.”

“Fresh bedding is perfect,” Sarah said, with one more hug for the girl. “Thank you, Abigail, for everything.”

David wrapped his arm around Sarah’s waist as they watched Abigail walk away from the cabin.

“You feel a sense of relief now, do you not?”

  Sarah nodded into his shoulder.

“I think this is what was keeping me from truly feeling settled—the thought that I had left something behind here, left these people without any care. To know that Abigail is here, watching out for them… it leaves me with a sense of peace, to know that I haven’t left them alone.”

“You’re a good woman,” David said, kissing the top of her head. “The best I have ever met. I do not think there is a heart larger than yours on this side of the Atlantic or the other.”

“And it’s full of you,” she said, turning her head to accept his kiss upon her lips. “I love you, David Redmond. My home is with you, wherever that may be.”

“And mine with you. I love you too, Sarah. Now, and forever.”

  About the Author

Ellie has always loved reading, writing, and history. For many years she has written short stories, non-fiction, and has worked on her true love and passion—romance novels.

In every era there is the chance for romance, and Ellie enjoys exploring many different time periods, cultures, and geographic locations. No matter when or where, love can always prevail. She has a particular soft spot for the bad boys of history, and loves a strong heroine in her stories.

The lake is Ellie’s happy place, and when she’s not writing, she is spending time with her son, her Husky/Border Collie cross, and her own dashing duke. She loves reading—of course—as well as running, biking, and summers at the lake.

She also loves corresponding with readers, so be sure to contact her!
