The table erupted into screams and exaltations.

“We wouldn’t miss it for the world,” Kate said.

Everyone jumped up and showered the brides in additional hugs and kisses at the news. As Jordan and Rhea continued congratulating Viv and Maia, Didi led Kate aside.

“In case you weren’t aware, I’ve returned to my roots of meddling in people’s love lives, but only for one night.”

“You’re responsible for booking the special musical guest?”

Didi buffed her nails on her chest. “Duh.”

Kate threw her arm around her and led her toward the bar. “You’re going to be gloating about this for years to come, aren’t you?”

  “Decades,” Didi said.

After the bartender handed them two cosmos, they turned to the table where their friends and lovers were immersed in raucous celebration and clinked their glasses together.

“Here’s to meddling friends and summer flings,” Kate said with a grin.
