Erased

I cry out when he pushes me against the piano keys and enters me with a bang. As he thrusts into me, our moans and the keys I’m hitting with my ass make a beautiful song.
Our song.
My life before Derek Slade paled in comparison to the colorful, perfect one I live now. I’d erase Joss over and over again if it meant that, in the end, I could always have the man who’s pouring his heart and soul into me right now.
We’ll spend the rest of our lives writing a new history over the ones we erased to get here, and hopefully, we’ll make many more songs like the one we’re playing now.
Derek loves Joss.
Four years later . . .
“G CC CD E”
Jillian’s little finger plunks out each note to “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” as Joss guides her hand around the keys. Her blond curls, so much like her mother’s, bounce as her head bops to the music. They are sitting at the refinished piano I gave Cupcake the night I proposed to her. We built a house on the land near the bar, and I made sure to include a music room for Joss to play in. Eventually, we added a grand piano, but she teaches our daughter to play on the old piano that is so special to us. I listen to them softly singing it together, and there is no sweeter music in the world.
As I walk into the room, Jillian’s head turns my way before she scrambles down off the bench and run towards me, her arms outstretched.
“Daddy!”
I will never tire of hearing that.
“Hey there, shortcake.” I grab her under the arms just before she hits my legs and swing her up, tossing her in the air.
She squeals with delight, her sweet laughter bouncing off of the walls. Once she lands back in my arms, she lays her head in the crook of my neck and snuggles in tight.
Joss gets up from the bench and walks towards me, a soft smile on her face as she watches us. “Is it here?” she asks.
“I just set it up in the den.”
It’s our first Christmas in the house, and today, we had our tree delivered. Tonight, we’ll keep up our tradition of decorating the tree, drinking hot chocolate, and watching the sappy Christmas movies that I will never admit to liking out loud.
I slip my free arm around her waist and lay my hand on her swollen belly and when she leans up for a kiss, and I pull her in close to lay my lips on hers.
When I pull back, Jillian giggles and asks, “Can I have a kiss too, Daddy?”
I give her a kiss on the cheek with a loud smack and she lets out peals of laughter.
The boxes of Christmas decorations are all piled up in the den at the back of the house. They take up a lot of space because Joss covers every inch of our home in festive décor, making up for the years of having none at all. I set my baby girl down, watching her run to the twelve-foot tree and gaze up at it in awe. I feel a contentment like no other wash over me as I look at my daughter and hold my beautiful wife in my arms.
“Want some hot chocolate, shortcake?”
Jillian smiles bright and nods enthusiastically.
I grab Joss’s hand and pull her to the kitchen area of the big room. Once in there, I envelope her in my arms and bring my lips down to hers. Now that I’ve had a taste of her, I can’t help but deepen the kiss, tangling my tongue with hers. She lets out one of her sweet little whimpers, and I start counting the hours until Jillian goes to bed and I can get my sexy wife underneath me. But for now, I let out a groan and drag my lips away.
“I love you,” I whisper. When she beams at me, I give her a little grin before adding, “If it weren’t for our munchkin, I’d have you spread wide open on the counter with my face buried in your delicious pussy, baby.”
Her eyes, which are already glazed with lust, darken even more. Pregnancy hormones make my girl insatiable, and I love to tease her. I’ll make up for it when we’re in the bedroom after shortcake goes to sleep. For now, I give her a peck on the lips and rub her belly before pushing her back towards the couches.
“Go put your feet up, Cupcake.”
She makes her way to the couch, and Jillian crawls up next to her with a Christmas book she dug out of one of the boxes.
Sometimes, my mind still has trouble comprehending how much I’ve gained and how much I’ve changed. My inner caveman still makes an appearance when some douchebag at the bar is ogling my wife, and I can still be an asshole at times. But my girls bring out a mushy side I didn’t know I had—and refuse to admit exists. After the way I grew up and the course of my adulthood until I met Joss, I didn’t think I was capable of being a good husband and father.
They giggle together, and I’m filled with happiness and contentment.
After I get hot chocolate ready, I grab the TV remote to turn on It’s a Wonderful Life.
You’ll get no argument from me.

A big thank you goes out to my writing partner, Elle Christensen. I loved how we came up with an idea, hashed it out, and then executed it as if we were making a delicious batch of brownies. The entire process was fun, challenging at times, but overall sweet! I definitely look forward to getting to “play” again soon. I’m so glad we were able to take this opportunity and make it happen. Joss and Slade are our book babies we made together and I’m so proud of them.
A very special thanks goes to my sexy husband, Matt Webster. You always tell me how to talk like a dude and give it to me straight. I appreciate your honesty and support. You only want my success and I can’t thank you enough! Thanks so much for bringing me endless cup after cup of perfectly brewed and sweetened coffee. You kept my brain alive during those intense moments of writing and editing. I love you to the moon and back, hunny bunny!
Thank you to all my book world friends that have provided great friendships. Whether you’re a fellow writer, blogger, reader, or simply a friend, you’ve been great during this journey. You know who you are!
I want to thank the beta readers on this book, whom are also my friends. Nikki McCrae, Anne Jolin, Wendy Colby, Dena Marie, Sarah Leal, and Elizabeth Thiele, you guys provided AMAZING feedback. You all gave helpful ideas to make the story better and gave me incredible encouragement. I appreciate all of your comments and suggestions.
A huge thank you goes out to my PA, Nikki McCrae. Nikki, you are a true friend and time nor distance will ever separate us. You only want me to be happy and I thank you. You’ve lessened the load for me by handling a lot of stuff that was bogging me down and now I can write more! You’ve always been nothing but honest with me and never bullshit me. Thanks for being such a badass friend and PA. I’d send you the world, but you won’t let me. Who is stubborn now?
I’m especially thankful for the Breaking the Rules Babes. Without the daily support of my sisters in there, I’d be pretty lost. You girls rock my world!
Mickey, my fabulous editor from I’m a Book Shark, thank you for taking on our task. I
know it was tricky combining two voices to flow as one but of course you did it effortlessly. You left smiley faces along the way which softened the blow of the error of our ways—we’re so grateful. And get this, when I think of you . . . wait for it . . . TEARS FILL MY EYES. What is that? The eighty-sixth time I said that phrase now in this book? Love you girl!
Thank you Stacey Blake for turning our book into something special. You always do the best work and I’m so iincredibly thankful that you are always so flexible and easy to work with. Love you!
Thank you so much Nicole from IndieSage Promotions for helping whip my marketing into shape . . . you create some beautiful graphics and I’m thankful that you help me!
Lastly but certainly not least of all, thank you to all of the wonderful readers out there that are willing to hear my story and enjoy my characters like I do. It means the world to me!

There is no one I have to thank more than the amazing K. Webster! Without her, I would still be dreaming of writing a book, instead of actually writing it! She is the best teacher and every book I write will be better for all that has taught me and continues to teach me. She deserves incredible thanks for letting me constantly harass her! I adore you!
Thank you to our incredible beta readers. I hope you realize how much your feedback helps to shape the book and make it the best it can be. You are the bomb dot com! (That’s right, I said it.)
Thank you to our editor, Mickey Reed. Since this is my first published book, I can’t imagine the mess that showed up in your email! Your edits and suggestions made this the best book it could be. They also make me an even better writer for having learned from them.
Thank you to our formatter, Stacey Blake with Champagne Formats. Also, to our promoter, Nicole Blanchard from IndieSage PR.
Thank you to the reviewers for my blog, you gals are the reason I had time to write!
Melanie and Heather, you save my sanity on a regular basis! Reviewing for me, beta reading for me, and just being great sounding boards. You ladies rock my world!!
Thank you to my best friend in the world (you know who you are), my sister from another mister! You know the real me. You never judge, you only ever encourage, and I always know how much you love me.
Last but certainly not least, I have no words for the amount thanks that my husband deserves. For putting up with being ignored so that I could write and edit, being patient while I was on my phone CONSTANTLY to work through ideas with Kristi, and for believing in and being proud of everything I do.

I’m a thirty three year old self-proclaimed book nerd. Married to my husband for eleven years, we enjoy spending time with our two lovely children. Writing is a newly acquired fun hobby for me that has now turned into a livelihood over the past year. In the past, I’ve enjoyed the role as a reader. However, I have learned I absolutely love taking on the creative role as the writer. Something about determining how the story will play out intrigues me to no end.
This writing experience has been a blast and I’ve met some really fabulous people along the way. I hope my readers enjoy reading my stories as much as I do writing them. I look forward to connecting with you all!

I’m a lover of all things books and have always had a passion for writing. Since I am a sappy romantic, I fell easily into writing romance. I love a good HEA! I’m a huge baseball fan, a blogger, and obsessive reader.
My husband is my biggest supporter and he’s incredibly patient and understanding about the people is my head who are fighting with him for my attention.
I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them!
