  Author Note

So, after all my boasting in the last author note about how quickly and easily Conquer came to me, of course, karma had to come kick my ass with this one LOL! *roll eyes*. I think it was because there was a massive gap between when I started it and when I finished it. There was a holiday in between and then Crave To Conquer released and I was in panic mode for most of February. I thought Conquer would quietly drift, mostly unnoticed, until the trilogy was finished, but nope, didn’t happen!

Anyway, I really enjoyed plotting and writing this book. The problem I had was getting the actual words down in time. I tend to need space and time to do a few drafts to make sure that things are coming across the way I intend, and it was important to me to do that because this book delves into the complications that are at the root of Drocco and Cailyn’s problems. I also wanted the development of the characters to be clear because I want them to grow a bit with each book. I think I did manage it, but I won’t really know until I have some distance from it.

I also wanted to set up the next couple’s story (can you guess who they are?) and include more of the world that exists in this verse. I’m hoping to spend more time here so I’d like to reveal a little more of the world and its various cultures with each book. I’ll admit I had an urge to add dragons somewhere down the line in another couple’s story, but that’s probably a bit too much! Dragons and Alphas probably won’t mix… Probably… Hmmm… *scribbling some ideas*

Thank you so much to those who have gotten in touch or joined Dark Halos, either via email or on Facebook—I’m astounded by the great messages of support, the hate/love for Drocco, and the rooting for Cailyn. I hope this installment of the story continued to entertain you. One more to go!

  Acknowledgments

Randie! Ha ha, what a journey it has been with this book! Thank you so much for your patience and kindness and BLOCK CAP rants about Drocco in your editing comments! LOL! I couldn’t see the trees through the woods at times with this and your experience and skill helped me immensely. Once again, it’s been so great working with you and I really appreciate your time, attention, and dedication.

L; I absolutely couldn’t have done this one without your support and guidance and specialist knowledge. I’m sure you were stifling a groan every time I said the dreaded words “story help”, but I’m gonna pretend you were really eager and enthusiastic every time LOL! An extra side of beef jerky for you for putting up with me! Ha ha! Thank you for helping me to reaffirm what story I’m trying to tell. Above all, I stand by my work with no apologies, and you have certainly helped to remind me of that when I needed it. One more book of Drocco left—I hope you’re prepared for more torture until the end!

To the readers, ex-Halo Harem and Dark Halos who are following along with Drocco and Cailyn’s angsty tale, thank you for supporting my journey. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it, so I’ll just write more books instead :)

As always, I couldn’t do this without the support of my family and friends, who are completely clueless about most of what I do but still cheer me on anyway. Love you x
